Sometimes the hustle and bustle of living in a major city can get us down.

Luckily, if you're a Dublin resident, there are plenty of natural areas and parks to enjoy a stroll in – which a new paper has found greatly improves mental health.

Urban Mind: Using Smartphone Technologies to Investigate the impact of Nature on Mental Wellbeing in Real Time found that people derive a subconscious mood boost from taking in nature.

The researchers actually found that getting outside can have mood lifting benefits for hours after.

'The results showed significant immediate and time lagged associations with mental wellbeing for several natural features: trees, the sky and birdsong.'

'These associations were still evident several hours after exposure to trees, the sky and birdsong had taken place, indicating time-lasting benefits.'

So, getting out and about to your nearest park or walking trail could leave you reaping the benefits hours after you've hung up your coat on your return.

'These findings suggest that short-term exposure to nature has a measurable beneficial impact on mental wellbeing,' said Dr Andrea Mechelli, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King’s College London.

'It suggests that nature could be especially beneficial to those individuals who are at risk of poor mental health.'

So, seeing as it's International Day of Happiness, maybe taking a friend for a walk could be a good way to spread good vibes.

Chocolate lovers, we’ve got some great news for you. Cadbury has launched a limited edition caramel Twirl bar, and we are drooling.

The divine sweet treat is made of caramel flavoured chocolate, which means you don’t have to deal with gooey caramel dripping all over your clothes when you’re eating one of these bars.

However, it looks like the bars are only available in Australia at the moment. Anyone fancy booking a quick trip across to Oz so we can get our hands on one of these delicious bars?

Not only are we being deprived of the caramel Twirl bars, but we can’t even enjoy the white chocolate Galaxy bars, as they’re only available in the United Arab Emirates at the moment, meaning you'll need to travel over 7,000 km to get your hands on it.

Luckily, there is one very special chocolate treat that we can enjoy this Easter. Fans of Orange Smarties will be delighted to hear that Nestlé is bringing back their favourite sweets this spring following the overwhelming consumer response to the launch of the Orange Smarties Giant Tube last autumn.

Chocolate lovers can now enjoy their favourite orange treat as an Easter egg which features a delicious orange flavour milk chocolate egg filled with Orange Smarties Mini Eggs inside.

Also, brand new this spring are Orange Smarties Mini Eggs which are quite literally, little Orange Smarties chocolate eggs. Very eggs-citing!

We are drooling over these new products.

Disney is currently having a love affair with rebooting their classic films into live-action remakes.

We've had Beauty and the Beast and The Jungle Book so far, but another classic is in the pipeline to be remade – Lady and the Tramp.

The classic love story, which featured a pampered pooch and an unruly mongrel who unexpectedly fall for one another, is one of Disney's most beloved tales.

According to Deadline, the live-action/CGI adaption won't be hitting cinemas.

Instead, it will be brought straight to DisneyLife, Disney's streaming service.

It's expected to debut in 2019, so we still have a little while to wait for it.

The Lego Ninjago Movie director Charlie Bean has been chosen to direct the reboot.

We're ready to throw it back to 1995.

It's iconic. That violet hue adorning Monica's apartment's walls in Friends is simply unmistakable, yet also puzzling.

Often we find ourselves pondering one question during the unending reruns of our favourite sitcom (and no, it's not 'Were they on a break?'): why purple?

Yes, we love it, but it's definitely an unusual choice. Were the set designers big fans of grapes? Did they get a discount on that particular paint? Colour us intrigued!

Finally, all has been revealed. Set designer John Shaffner, the mastermind behind Monica's enviable apartment, spoke to Great Big Story about his colour choice.

"Everybody was really anxious," the accomplished production designer said of his paint decision.

One of the biggest reasons he chose that bold shade of violet was because it helped show the sitcom's personality.

"Colour is really important in establishing the show identity," he said.

John, who has also worked on the likes of The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men, said that he thought the hue would help hook viewers.

"When you switch to Friends, you saw that it was purple and you stay tuned," he noted.

Colour choice isn't the only challenge a set designer faces, though. John observed, "One of the responsibilities of a production designer is to look into the future."

One such crystal ball moment was when he included the mystery door in Monica's apartment, which wasn't opened until season eight to reveal an overstuffed closet.

"We put a door all the way up this hallway and we really didn't say where it went to. I said, 'Why don't we just wait and see where the story is taken?'" John recalled.

And we were so happy to see where it went! Monica is totally the type of person to be ashamed of a messy closet.

Reflecting on his work, the Emmy Award-winner said, "I am so lucky that I got to design Friends."

The fact that the last Dublin Bus route ends before midnight has long been a bone of contention for night working commuters.

However, Dublin Bus could soon be rectifying this by providing the capital with a 24-hour bus service.

A trial scheme for three main routes serving the city centre will be rolled out over the course of 2018.

All going to plan, a 24-hour bus service will serve each route, according to The Sun

The routes will be north, south and west directions.

'These routes will operate through the night,' chairperson of Dublin City Council Transportation Committee Ciaran Cuffe told Newstalk.

'I’m not sure if it will be hourly or every two hours, but I certainly think that the demand is there.'

'There’s quite a demand from night workers who simply want to get to and from home through the night, and that’s what a modern city needs,' he said.

Fingers crossed one of those routes is passing our house…

While we love a good Easter egg (and chocolate will always be bae) we've made a discovery that has us questioning the traditional chocolate egg.

We're big makeup lovers at SHEmazing HQ, so the fact that there is a makeup Easter Egg out there in the world that we don't yet own doesn't sit well with us.

From makeup masters I Heart Revolution Beauty, the Surprise eggs are exacgtly what we want this year, and we kind of want to collect them all.

There are a number of varieties of this palette, and they all come in the kitch little egg-shaped case, containing five eye shadows and two highlighter powders

Each egg ticks a particular beauty trend box, whether it's the Dragon egg, full of red and berry shadows, or the Rose Gold egg, chock-a-block with shimmer pink hues.

Many of the palettes are fashioned after stunning mythical creatures, such as mermaids and unicorns.

As if that wasn't enough, the makeup eggs are a very affordable €7.18.

One for everyone in the audience, we think.

Dating in  the modern era can be difficult, as online dating opens the floor to so many unknown factors.

Like, I know we matched on Tinder but why hasn't he written to me? Or okay, she has my WhatsApp now, but wy hasn't she suggested we go for an after work drink?

It's hard out there for a relationship seeker to figure out whether people are really truly interested in you, or if they have just swiped right on evryone.

We've often joked about accepting dating applications from eager suitors, but now that concept has been made into a reality.

Apply To Date is a new online site where you do exactly as described above.

Simply create your own bachelorette page and wait for the applicants to roll in.

The concept will be particularly welcomed by those of us with a seriously picky criteria.

While it's definitely a functional, and slightly impersonal, way to date, we might just be ready to try it.

Applicants must be Netflix fanatics, have facial hair and believe in repealing the 8th amendment…

Saving can be an absolute pain in the hole, but it's a necessary evil to achieve certain life goals.

Whether you're saving up for a new bicycle, six months of travelling the world, or that Gucci belt you've been hearting on Instagram forever, here are a few things to cut out to build up the nest egg.

7. Online clothes shopping

Okay, I know this one sounds dramatic, but in order to save for that car or mega-holiday, you have to make some sacrifices.

Online shopping is dangerous, as if feels like you're not really sending anything as no cash physically exchanges hands.

Set some rules for yourself, like you cannot buy for occasions, only for needs. So, you're not allowed buy a new skirt for that night out on Friday because you can re-wear last month's dress in a new way, but if your boots have a hole in the sole, you can buy new boots.

6.Cocktails

When you go out for drinks with the gals, set yourself a limit.

Look up the place you're going to for drinks and only bring exactly enough cash for three drinks and enough money to get home. Leaving your bank card at home can be scary, but if you only have a certain amount of money, you'll only spend a certain amount of money.

Just make sure you have a safe way to get home.

5. Coffee

This as an oldie but a goldie. Even if you're only buying one complicated coffee drink a week, that can add up to €20 per month, or €260 per year.

If you're a more regular coffee buyer, that could add up to almost €1000 per year.

Get some caramel latte sachets from a supermarket and leave the syrupy drinks to the barista.

4. Branded food

Being brand-loyal can cost you hundreds over the course of the year.

While you may be tempted by the recognisable comfort of big-name brands, supermarket own brand foods can often be just as good and come in at half the price.

Give the label-less foods a try, while you may not like some, others might end up sticking around on your shopping list – saving you euros over the course of the month.

3. Brunch

Look, I'm really sorry about this one, but brunching on the regular can add up.Brunching in Dublin can cost around €30 per head if you're tucking into a cocktail with your eggs benny, and if that's happening every Sunday, you're totally €120 per month, or €1440 per year.

That's your entire holiday paid for over the course of the year. A more sensible way to catch up with the girls is to do a come dine with me style rota, where each Sunday one person is tasked with whipping up a brunch for the gang.

Everyone can chip in a fiver for ingredients, and afterwards you can settle down on the couch for an afternoon movie and chat, rather than having to move on for the next table of brunchers.

2. Meat

After being veggie for three years, I'm estimating that I've saved around €2340 in that time by not buying meat, saving €15 per week on my weekly shop.

Fresh meat can be one of the priciest items on a grocery list, so maybe go meat-free during the week to save yourself some cash if you have a longterm goal in mind.

1. Phone credit

Get yourself a plan with unlimited internet and no other frills.

You can call or text using apps like WhatsApp and Viber, so as long as you have 4G you're good to go.

Depending on your provider, plans like this can cost as little as €10 per month.

Despite the rise of the body positivity community, body shaming still happens on the regular.

While no one is immune to the pressures of societal standards, celebrities seem to get the worst of it.

With the Kardashians dominating the headlines, social feeds and style pages of every platform internationally, they face a perpetual onslaught of body scrutiny.

Not one to stand back and let s*it go by unmentioned, Jameela Jamil defended the Kardashian recently, after she came across a post on Instagram which outlined each of the KUWTK star's weights.

Kim in particular was singled out in the post, which asked fans to comment their weights and to decided whether Kim looked as heavy as she was.

Taking to Twitter, Jameela slated the post for promoting weight value and obsession, and highlighted areas of her life which were far more valid than her weight.

'I weigh: Lovely relationship. Great friends. I laugh everyday. I love my job. I speak out for women's rights. I like my bingo wings.'

'I like myself in spite of EVERYTHING I've been taught by the media to hate about myself.'

Jameela began to receive similar manifestos from women around the world, and has set up a body positivity community iof her own in response.

A post shared by I Weigh (@i_weigh) on

Called @i_weigh, the Instagram page features women of all types sharing what is important about them – never mind anyone's weight.

The posts are hugely empowering, and act as a reminder that all women, including celebrities, are far more than their scale reading.

'I’m fucking tired of seeing women just ignore what’s amazing about them and their lives and their achievements, just because they don’t have a bloody thigh gap,' Jameela wrote.'

This was the reminder we all needed today about loving ourselves a little more and never buying in to scathing critiques of our own bodies and the bodies of others.
