We've almost reached the finish line of Love Island 2018. And what an eight weeks it's been.

Tbh I'm glad it's almost done – while I have enjoyed it for the most part, I don't think I can stick any more of Dr Alex.

I felt SO BAD for him the first few weeks – he looked so awks and left out and I felt his pain, I really did.

But it turns out that just because he's a bit awkward does not mean he is a nice person.

And this whole first-impressions-can-be-deceiving thing also happened with me and  ''Old'' Laura (or ''First'' Laura as Twitter suggests, which sounds a helluva lot better.)

I sound like a right b*tch, but when she first entered the villa, I was like – nope, not gonna like her.

Then she was paired with Wes and for three weeks I couldn't imagine them with anyone else.

Okay, so she started to get a bit annoying and they started to bicker – but Wes was deffo a bit into Ellie when she arrived and if she hadn't given him the brush off, he would've left Laura in a heartbeat.

And Laura isn't stupid, so she knew this. Cue ego-knock number one.

Then, she experienced every girls worst nightmare when Wes dumped her for Megan, the girl that every guy wanted.

So then she had to watch the guy she'd been coupled up with for almost a month, the guy who said, ''I think I'm falling for you'', the guy she shared the Hideaway with – be all over another girl in the same house as her.

That's gotta f*cking hurt. Cue ego-knock number two.

Suddenly, Hot Jack lands on the island and he is fab looking and seems fun.

He gravitates towards Laura and I'm so chuffed for her.

Her mate Georgia then KISSES Jack behind her back and LIES about it. Another knock for our Laura.

Jack then uses Laura just so she recouples with him and then as soon as two new girls come in – Stephanie and, of course, ''New'' Laura, his head is turned. 

Jack obvs gets with the new girl and our Laura is left dumped for the second time in six weeks.

I know she isn't perfect and can be insecure at times – but who the hell can blame her? My self-esteem would be shattered if I was her.

But it was last night that she proved herself to be a genuinely good person who didn't deserve the sh*t she got. 

She sat on the rooftop comforting New Laura – mere hours after said girl had humiliated her in the lie detector test (''Jack, who's a better kisser, me or Old Laura?'') Like, seriously.

How sound First Laura is hasn't been lost on Twitter, who seem to agree with me wholeheartedly.

People have written,''I genuinely think that she [Laura] is a brilliant and kind woman and that she’s only this way because she’s always mugged off by guys because of what she wants.''

Another one said, ''say what you want about old Laura, but even after new Laura put her down with the lie detector questions, she went and wiped her tears. what a brill woman'' and  ''she's had such a rough ride and been so gracious with those horrible girls (Megan and new Laura) Such a lovely girl.''

Laura, you're doing amazing sweetie, we're all rooting for ya!

Swap milk chocolate for 70 or, even better, 85% dark chocolate.

Juicing may have been a huge food and health trend for the past few years, yet some experts would like you to drop the juice to go for the whole fruit instead. Fruit juice passes through the digestive system more rapidly than whole fruits, which are full of fibres, and have a much higher glycemic index. More generally, try and eat your calories instead of drinking them. 

Make your own food whenever you can

We know that a busy life often means ready-made food but each little swap matters. Homemade soup, homemade salad dressing… some staples are so quick and easy to cook, you don’t have any excuse to buy it pre-made. Plus you can make them in batch and keep in the fridge or freeze them.

Once you try homemade dressing – which is basically one teaspoon of mustard, 2 tablespoons of vinegar, 4 tablespoons of oil, salt and pepper – you can never buy a supermarket one again.

Swap your chocolate bar or biscuits for an apple with nut butter

Avoid chocolate bars and their empty calories. Packed with fibres, vitamins, minerals and good fats, apples and nut butter are one of the healthiest snacks you can make at home or in the office, without sacrificing taste – it’s actually so good you might become addicted.

Cut your apple into quarters, spread some peanut or almond butter, and sprinkle with cinnamon for added nutritional value and taste. If you are watching your weight, just don't put too much nut butter on your apple are it is very heavy in calories.

Mega-model Karlie Kloss is known for her iconic walks down the Victoria's Secret runway. 

Unlike most models, the statuesque blonde also manages and creates content for her own successful YouTube channel, called Klossy, which boasts over 627,000 subscribers. 

Karlie's most recent vlog has us seriously excited, as the model is showcasing to the world what it's really like to walk in one of the most-watched fashion events in the world.

Karlie documents the angels' arrival in Shanghai, China, as well as all of the preparation required for the show. 

The model revealed that it takes an incredible 12 hours to get ready for the show – no wonder they look so good.

'The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is a global phenomenon, there's not many fashion shows in the world that the whole world tunes in for, so this is a very special show,' Karlie gushes, as she sits in the hairdresser's chair to have her icy locks blow dried to bouncy perfection.

Karlie even takes her viewers to the restricted access sections of the show, showcasing never-before-seen areas (we even get a glimpse of where they store the angel wings before the show).

VS angels like Adriana Lima, Lily Aldridge, Bella Hadid and Romee Strijd all feature in the video. 

From the outfits hanging on the racks to the extensive body makeup applied, it's an eye-opening experience.

This year's show will also be Alessandra Ambrosio's last show, and Karlie captures her final speech to her model counterparts before they hit the runway.

Adam Collard and Zara McDermott have been together for three weeks, and the two have made it publicly known just how much they love each other. 

Many doubted that the pair would last once they left the villa, considering Adam's behaviour while they were there. 

He got with Kendall Rae-Knight, Rosie Willaims and Darylle Sargeant while in the house and admitted to sleeping with over 200 women.

However, it seems that the duo really do care for each other, well, if Adam's latest tattoo is anything to go by.

The 22-year-old took to Instagram to share a photo of his latest inking – a back 'Z'. 

21-year-old Zara was rather chuffed with the gesture and shared a photo of Adam's hand on her Insta stories, writing: "He just got a lil Z on his hand." 

And in fairness to the chap, the tattoo is fairly classy looking – even though it looks like an N depending on what way you're looking at it… 

The pair's relationship has moved pretty quickly since they left the villa, with Adam moving into Zara's family home soon after.

Here's a feel good story to get you through your day. 

It isn't one you usually hear of in Ireland, but a dolphin found itself in a spot of trouble on Doughmore beach.

Luckily for the marine mammal, its saviours were on their way as a woman cloaked the animal stranded in the surf.

Last week, Rebecca Glenny – a house keeper for Trump International Golf Links and Hotel, Doonbeg – was strolling along the beach when she had seen the dolphin in distress.

Rebecca entered the water and attempted to get the animal into deeper water and out of trouble.

However, this particular breed of dolphin can weigh up to 400 pounds and naturally, she was struggling.

Thankfully, a vigilant guest playing golf and his caddie John Wright seen Rebecca's admirable efforts and came to lend a hand.

Their joint efforts were successful and the dolphin was free from danger and back where it belongs. 

Fair play to the three of them!

Supermodel Karlie Kloss has officially announced her engagement to millionaire and investor, Joshua Kushner.

And look at the size of her ring!

We'd be smiling that big too! The ring is a cushion-cut diamond set on a delicate pavé band. 

The power couple have been dating for six years and enjoy their privacy from the public eye. They have only been photographed a few times in public and enjoy the intimacy of their relationship.

Why all the secrecy? Karlie told Porter: “Carolina Herrera always says, 'A woman who's an open book is boring.' There's no mystery anymore. I know in my life what really matters to me.”

Although Karlie just announced her engagement yesterday, Josh proposed to her nearly a few weeks ago during a holiday in New York, according to People. 

The Victoria Secret model posted a photo of her and josh with a gorgeous sunset backdrop, saying: “I love you more than I have words to express.

“Josh, you’re my best friend and my soulmate. I can’t wait for forever together. Yes a million times over.”

Her fiancee also posted a beautiful photo of Karlie with the simple caption “fiancée.”

Karlie has been a Victoria Secret model since 2011, but she took a two year break in 2015 to study at New York University.

She also does some fabulous modelling for Swarovski, Adidas, Estée Lauder, and a few other big name brands.

The couple met in 2012 and have managed to thrive together, despite Josh’s familial ties. His older brother Jared is senior advisor to President Donald Trump and married to Trump’s daughter Ivanka.

You will probably know Dutch actress Famke Janssen best from her role as Jean Grey in the X-Men franchise. More mature audiences might remember her as the seductive Ava Moore in the series Nip/Tuck. And for those who were adults in the 90s, she was GoldenEye’s bad Bond girl, Xenia Onatopp. Whether you’re an old or new fan of this versatile actress, you’re in luck. If you’ve been missing her presence on the big screen, she’s lined up for several big projects in the coming years.

The Poison Rose

Famke Janssen stars alongside John Travolta in a classic detective noir mystery that is a throwback to Hollywood’s golden era of film. Based on the book of the same name, the script for The Poison Rose was penned by the book’s author himself, Richard Salvatore, who co-wrote it with director George Gallo. Travolta stars as a private investigator who gets hired by his former high school flame Janssen to solve a murder. Details about the mystery are revealed as the two rekindle their old romance. For more star power, Variety confirms that the cast will also be joined by veteran actor Morgan Freeman.

American Undercover

There’s not a lot of information out there on this movie yet, but we do know that it’s going to be a spy thriller starring Janssen and Joan Cusack. It’s also going to be directed by Raza Mallal, a multi-awarded writer and director who’s also been behind movies like Ask the Cheat, Easy Money, Checkmate, and Dogs Best Friend – for which he has garnered several international film awards. If you want to dig up more on American Undercover, it’s also being billed as Kickback, and Cinando states that the movie will start shooting towards the end of 2018.

Primal

Nicholas Cage and Famke Janssen go head to head in the new crime action-thriller, Primal. Deadline reports that Cage plays a hunter who illegally transports several deadly animals to the US on a Spanish cargo ship, along with a political assassin being extradited to the US in secret. In typical Hollywood fashion the assassin escapes and releases the animals. Janssen plays the US navy neurologist who has to deal with the ensuing chaos.

X-Men

There’s been no official news on Janssen being cast in any upcoming movies under the X-Men franchise, despite being a member of the original cast. However, in past interviews Janssen has revealed that she is more than ready to reprise her role as Jean Grey, much in the same way that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen reprised their roles as Professor Xavier and Magneto in the latest X-Men movies (note she did have a tiny cameo in Days of Future Past). So while there’s been nothing official, don’t count her out just yet.

Rounders 2

Another film widely speculated is a sequel to 1998’s Rounders. It is an idea that fans and movie industry professionals like to throw around from time to time. PartyPoker claims that rumors circulate every year about a possible second movie starring the original cast. If the people behind the movie are somehow planning a sequel, we’re sure fans are more than ready to find out what happened to the resourceful Mike Dermott (Matt Damon), the unflinching Teddy KGB (John Malkovich), and the sultry Petra (Famke Janssen). Damon has hinted that there may be a script in the works in several interviews, which bodes well for an eventual film.

Gerard Kelly may be a mammy’s boy, but that didn’t stop his mam, Mary, from shouting threats at him in the car…all in good fun, of course.

The mother and son duo were on their way to Gerard’s cousin’s wedding where he was expected to sing “In a Country Churchyard” by Chris de Burgh.

Mary reminded him of the lyrics over and over again, but Gerard deviously pretended to mess them up, winding his poor mam up.

The tune they practised was her and Gerard’s father’s wedding song, so she took it to heart when her son just couldn't get the words right.

In a country churchyard there's a preacher ON his people,” he sang aloud.

WITH his people. The preacher’s WITH his people.” She did not cop on to her son’s jokes.

Gerard continued singing more ‘accidentally’ wrong lyrics, and she could not believe he was going to mess up his parent’s song at the wedding.

He was secretly filming her reaction, and Mary finally lost it towards the end of the video.

“If you mess that song up on the altar I’ll go up and bate you over the head with the guitar me-self,” she said with a few more curse words thrown in.

The hilarious video has gone viral, and many comments said that Mary’s reaction was ‘brilliant.’

We wish we could have seen this mam’s face when her son told her he was only winding her up.

It is understood that Demi Lovato is in a stable condition after being hospitalised for a suspected heroin overdose.

The 25-year-old singer was found unconscious at her home in the Hollywood Hills at 11am  on Tuesday, July 24.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that the Sorry Not Sorry singer was treated with Narcan, which is used for narcotic overdoses, at her home.

She was then transported to a hospital in Los Angeles where she has regained consciousness.
Her family are said to be by her bedside. They have asked for privacy during this difficult time.

Celebrities and friends of the Skyscraper singer have also been wishing her well online.

“Poor beautiful spirit @ddlovato. I hope she’s okay, and that she makes a full recovery soon,” Lily Allen wrote.

Riverdale star Lili Reinhart said: “Praying for @ddlovato and her health. When I was 14, she was an idol to me in how she spoke so openly about mental health. And now she continues to inspire thousands of young men and women with her body positivity messages. Addiction and mental illness doesn’t discriminate.”

“We should all wrap our arms of love around Demi Lovato. I am so happy you’re alive. Thank God. If I know my monsters as well as I believe I do, we all wish you self-compassion and inner peace. And may you receive the love so many have for you. #ImConfidentInDemi Demi, I love you,” Lady Gaga shared.

Close friend Nick Jonas said: “Like all of you I am reeling at the news about Demi. All of us love her and need to pray for her to get well. She is a fighter. #prayfordemi.”

While we can rustle up a pretty decent looking one on the weekends, ours are nothing compared to Rachel Lorton.

Demi Lovato has been rushed to hospital after “overdosing on heroin”, TMZ reports.

Her condition is not yet known.

TMZ stated: “Law enforcement sources tell us Demi was treated with Narcan — an emergency treatment for narcotic overdoses — at her home.”

It is believed she overdosed at her home in the Hollywood Hills.

Friends of the singer have been tweeting their support since news broke earlier tonight.

Ariana Grande tweeted: “I love you @ddlovato.”

Ellen DeGeneres said: “I love Demi Lovato so much. It breaks my heart that she is going through this. She is a light in this world, and I am sending my love to her and her family.”

“Poor beautiful spirit @ddlovato. I hope she’s okay, and that she makes a full recovery soon,” Lily Allen wrote.

The Skyscraper singer has been battling addiction for many years now. She recently revealed that she hasn’t taken cocaine in six years.

Has Cheryl Cole switched career paths?

The Girls Aloud singer was seen arriving in Dublin yesterday, according to Xposé.

The reason for her trip was to film a few scenes for the upcoming movie Four Girls and It, based on a Jacqueline Wilson’s children novel.

We are so excited to see the new movie also starring Russell Brand and Michael Caine.

However, this is not Cheryl’s first appearance in a film. We all remember her cameo in What to Expect When You’re Expecting in 2012.

The film will follow the story of four children and a creature they meet on the beach named the Psammead.

This magical creature, voiced by Michael Caine, can grant wishes but the children must beware of the villain, Russel Brand, who tries to snatch the Psammead to use for himself.

Isn't Russell the perfect villain with his long, dark hair and his hot, 'bad guy' vibe?

The Times revealed that the Wexford coastline will double as Cornwall as the setting for the film.

Cheryl’s choice to do a cameo in the children’s film may be inspired by her son Bear, just 15 months old.

We were heartbroken to hear that the young mum recently split from Bear’s father, One Direction star Liam Payne.

The couple still plan on staying on good terms, so that they can focus on making their son’s happiness a priority.

So, keep your eyes peeled for Cheryl and her famous co-stars. We are excited to see if she continues acting!
