Have you ever wondered about what your hairstyle actually says about you?

Woman in White Adidas Crew Neck T-shirt Moving Her Hair

Well, according to a new study published in The Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, your hair actually matches your name.

Confused? We were too, at first.

The research found that people can match names to their faces, and participants in the study were also able to correctly guess names based solely on hairstyles.

“In one study, our participants picked the depicted person’s correct name by only looking at their hairstyle when the face itself was blurry,” the lead author of the study, Yonat Zwebner, told Allure last week.

He continued, saying: “Hairstyle is presumably one of the most controlled features in people’s faces. So it is possible that we choose a hairstyle that fits the stereotype of our name.”

The theory all boils down to stereotypes, and how we view them.

"Expectations are many times based on stereotypes. We already know from previous research that names have stereotypes. "

Person With Braided Hair

"Therefore, like other stereotypes, one may indeed become more and more like his/her name expectations, including appearance. This is strongly supported by the fact that our participants chose names according to hairstyle alone."

White and Blue Hair Curlier

We cannot help but wonder if this is why celebrities style their hair in certain ways (like when Britney Spears shaved her head in 2007).

"It suggests that people embrace a certain hairstyle, and probably more facial features that fit the expectations of how they should look according to their names.”

What do you think, ladies? Do you think your hairstyle reflects your name, or is this science mumbo-jumbo?

We're not entirely convinced.

Okay, so the reviews of Ed Sheeran's ÷ album have been pretty divisive (get it?).

We love wine, and we love coffee, so when we heard that there was a new product on the market that incorporates the two, we got more than a bit excited.

Wine-infused coffee is officially a thing, but before you lose the run of yourself entirely, we have a bit of bad news.

The wine/coffee hybrid doesn't actually get you drunk, but instead infuses the two rich flavours for an experience for the taste buds, rather than the liver.

The coffee beans, made by Molinari Private Reserve, are drenched in wine before being dried and bagged to create the distinct flavour.

"This full-bodied coffee relaxes in a beautiful wine, absorbing the wine’s nose and history, then the coffee is carefully dried and hand-roasted in small batches," reads the website.

The coffee is currently only available online, for a pretty reasonable €20.00, so we may have to pick up a bag (or three).

Our inner coffee snob is drooling.

Every so often, we just need a good gawk at makeup looks that we would never even dream of wearing.

Enter: neon makeup, the look that seems to be all over the Internet at the moment.

Listen, we will be the first to tell you that this is not exactly your everyday beauty look, but it is pretty darn cool to look at.

This trend has only recently started circulating amongst the beauty gurus on Instagram and YouTube, with Kristen Leanne posting a "how-to" video in February.

If you are interested in rocking this glowing makeup on your next night out, it is important to note that the technique is not at difficult as you'd think.

According to Bustle, you "Simply sketch out your eyeliner (or lip) shape with a neon shadow and a pointed liner brush. Then, buff out the edges of the vivid colour with a dense but fluffy brush to create a hazy, glowing effect."

Sounds relatively simple, right?

We reckon we'll leave this one to the professionals, and stick to a classic cat eye.

If you've been on Instagram lately, one trend that keeps popping up is ruffled, well, everything.

Ruffles are everywhere for spring, on absolutely every runway, and the high street has taken note.

Ruffles may seem like a tricky or unflattering trend, but it's actually really easy to pull off.

Blue blouse €44.99, White blouse €44.99, Grey jumper €14.99

The delightful thing about the trend is that you can go as out-there or subtle as you'd like with the look, depending on how fond of a good frill you are.

This blue H&M blouse is a dramatic way to do the trend, and would look equally good with a PVC skirt and fishnet tights as it would with dark jeans and loafers.

This white shirt is ideal for incorporating the look into your office ensembles, and this grey jumper is one way to rock soft, subtle and casual frills.

Dress €18.00, Jeans €17.00, Pink dress €16.00

Dresses are another easy way to work frills, as all you have to do is throw it on and go, no styling necessary.

These Penneys dresses are perfect with heels for a night out, or casual denim lovers can incorporate ruffles onto the hems of their jeans.

The frilled jeans look cute AF with a band T-shirt and converse, or with high mules and a slinky shirt.

Jumper €10.00, Top €11.99, Dress €19.99

And for the casual frill-seeker, these pieces from New Look are the comfy, simple way to rock ruffles.

This jumper is just the updated, spring version of your current staple knit, while this blue top is a chuck-on-and-go piece if we ever saw one.

This black dress for teens does subtle frills on the sleeves, so minimalists can get the look without the fuss.

We're obsessed with ruffles this season, and keeping the look chic is easier than we thought.

The noughties aren't usually hailed as a particularly stylish era, but there were a few accessories from back in the day that we all loved to wear.

While these items should definitely never make a reappearance, we're feeling a bit nostalgic looking back at our favourite underage disco accessories.

How many if these did you rock back in the day?

13. Leg warmers

Why this 80s throwback ever came back into style is a mystery to us.

But if we didn't stretch a pair over our tottering high heels, we couldn't be caught dead at the local disco.

12. Stretchy sequin belts

These sequin belts went perfectly with our tiered mini skirts and UGG boots.

Penneys UGGs, obvs.

11. Bustier bags

Why these bags were ever a thing is beyond us, but they existed, although sometimes they were just decoration for the shelves of our teenage bedrooms.

10. Long plastic beads

Pic: eBay

Whether you did the double wraparound or tied them in a knot, these beads were what you went into Claire's Accessories for.

And you had a strand in every colour to match every feasible outfit.

9. Ties as necklaces

Championed by 00s rebel Avril Levigne, pairing a stripy tie with your cargo pants and giant DC runners was the ultimate emo phase outfit.

And lets be real, we all had one of those.

8. Stripy arm warmers

A post shared by Bryan (@x_emopikachu) on

Another trend that Avril was fond of, these arm warmers fit in perfectly with our moody ambience.

And Panic! members wore them so…. no other excuse necessary.

7. Phone charms

Pic: 90s kids only

A phone charm was the ultimate accessory for your Motorola Razor or Sony Ericsson brick phone.

Did anyone else have a mini lip gloss one?

6. Giant bangles

Pic: Pinterest

These plastic bangles were all the rage in the 00s, and stacking them all the way up your arms was the only way to wear them.

5. Long necklaces

Pic: Pinterest

Any necklace that grazed your navel was okay in the 00s.

Necklaces with random objects like plastic hearts, keys and diamonds were especially popular.

4. Hair bows

Pic: Pinterest

Tiny hair bows were a staple for spicing up your school uniform look, or if you were a bit more on the daring *cough scene kid cough* side of style, then a whopper of a bow was ideal for weekend wear.

Like, you'd be getting a crick in your neck from the weight of the thing, and the amount of bobby pins you'd need to keep it in place was just obscene.

3. Giant belts

A post shared by Luka Shimada (@lukashimada) on

Most of the 00s tops were baggy and tunic-style, so what better way to showcase your figure than with an unnecessarily giant belt.

Bonus points if ou wore your cinched belt with leggings and matching pumps.

2. Diamanté sunglasses

Pic: eBay

The territory of Paris Hilton and the rest of her celebrity tribe, giant sunglasses were the way to go (we're noticing a theme here).

The most stylish of sunnies were encrusted with diamonds, as were all good things in the 00s.

1. Glow sticks

On your wrists, ankles and even stuffed down your bra, glow sticks were a necessary requirement for attending discos in the 00s.

Peaking around 2007/2008, you begged to nab a few in your favourite colour off someone in the queue if you forgot yours.

A cinema has cancelled screenings of Disney's Beauty and the Beast because it includes a gay character.

The drive-in theatre has rejected the film, citing it's staunch Christian beliefs for the decision.

The Henagar Drive-In Theatre in Alabama said that it will only show films that are family oriented, so that viewers will not have to bear witness to things such as homosexuality and foul language.

"When companies continually force their views on us we need to take a stand" read a statement on the theatre's Facebook page, which has since been deleted.

"If we cannot take our 11 year old granddaughter and 8 year old grandson to see a movie we have no business watching it."

“If I can't sit through a movie with God or Jesus sitting by me then we have no business showing it."

“I know there will be some that do not agree with this decision. That's fine.

“We are first and foremost Christians. We will not compromise on what the Bible teaches.”

The statement came after the film's director Bill Condon made a revelation about the sexuality of the character LeFou, played by Josh Gad.

"LeFou is somebody who on one day wants to be Gaston and on another day wants to kiss Gaston," Condon told Attitude.

"He's confused about what he wants. It's somebody who's just realising that he has these feelings."

Twitter is pretty outraged by the decision, calling it out as homophobic.

"What year is it in Alabama?" said one.

"Shame on you Henagar Drive-In Theatre," said another.

Festival season is just around the corner, so we have already spent many the hour looking up the boho-chic stylings of fellow festival goers for makeup inspiration for this coming summer.

While there are plenty of glitter and crystal filled lookes online, there are very few free spirited makeup tools doing the rounds.

Luckily, we spotted these magical rose quartz makeup brushes from BH Cosmetics, and the gorgeous handles on these brushes could double up as portable healing crystals in your festival yurt.

The divine brush set is so pretty it hurts, and we are loving the hippy-esque look.

The set includes six eye makeup brushes and three face brushes for contouring, highlighting, and applying blush.

Clearly the word has gotten out about these festival-worthy makeup brushes, as the set is currently sold out, but as soon as it's back in stock we'll be packing these crystal-handled applicators in our three-day weekend bags.

Contouring while cleansing your chakras? Yes please.

After a long day at work and battling through the bus commute home, there is no better feeling than dropping a gloriously scented, aesthetically pleasing bath bomb into a tub of hot water and having a good soak.

A long, bubbly, scented bath is top of the list when it comes to relaxation methods, so when we heard that bath bombs could be bad for our gynaecological health, we were less than pleased.

Apparently, the scented bath products could cause problems with the PH balance down below.

"It’s a good idea to avoid perfumed soaps, gels and antiseptics as these can affect the healthy balance of bacteria and pH levels in the vagina and cause irritation," Dr Vanessa Mackay, spokesperson for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, told The Metro

‘Use plain, unperfumed soaps to wash the area around the vagina (the vulva), not inside it, gently every day. During your period, washing more than once a day may be helpful.’

"That’s why products like FemFresh market themselves as unscented – because anything heavily perfumed is likely to disrupt your vagina’s self-cleaning processes."

A post shared by @smellslikelush on

Although realistically, as the vagina is a self-cleaning organ, vaginal hygiene products aren't a necessity.

"Some people think that the perfumes in bath bombs can harm the 'good bacteria' in the genital area, allowing harmful bugs that might cause problems like thrush, urinary infections and cystitis to flourish," Jemma Batte, a doctor for Bupa UK, told Cosmo

"So if you are prone to these problems, you may want to try using an unperfumed bath bomb instead of perfumes ones."

"There is no medical evidence that bath bombs actually cause thrush or urinary infections, so there is no clear medical reason not to use them."

So, bath bombs are probably a pretty safe habit to maintain unless you're already susceptible to PH imbalances, thrush and cystitis.

Thank goodness for that, our Saturday night in plans haven't been totally foiled.

The Oscar-winning actress gave birth to a little girl named Amalia on February 22.

"Mother and baby are happy and healthy,” a rep confirmed to People

The couple already have one child together, five-year-old Aleph.

The pair, who met on the set of Black Swan, are quite private about their family life, and kept the birth under wraps until this week.
