For the past two weeks we've been battling with unruly weather, and wearing sandals juuust in case the sun decides to pop its head up.

Well, you can say goodbye to your summer sandals right now because the weather is looking pretty sh*tty this weekend.

Met Éireann has issued a weather warning a gale force weather warning in the South, with "gale force 8 at times today."

But all other counties across Ireland aren't safe either, as they will see very heavy and possibly thundery showers developing too, merging to longer spells of rain with the risk of hail. Spot flooding is possible.

Brilliant.

However, temperatures are high, with today reaching 17 to 21 degrees.

Sunday will be "fresher," but showers are likely to hit at any stage and will be heavier and more frequent.

Two Irish brothers have just created the most amazing mosaic of Conor McGregor – and it's made entirely out of Lego.

The incredible piece of art measures just under four feet by four feet and took approximately two months to complete.

Jay and Mark Byrne are big fans of both Lego and McGregor and thought, hey, why don't we put our interests to good use.

Mark told the Irish Mirror, "We're fans of McGregor and big fans of Lego so we thought we would combine the two together and make this.

"We had to design it on the computer so between that and actually making it it took us between two and two and a half months.

"The computer design took about a week and then the Lego part there is about 300 hours in it, myself and Jay had to make time with work and everything.

The pair are part of the adult Lego group, Brick.ie, and say that even though the project was a costly one to undertake, it was all worth when they saw the end result.

“There was well over €2,000 worth of Lego in it, it's a very expensive hobby.”

The brothers have said they would be willing to sell the piece if the offer is right, adding that Conor would be more than welcome to place a bid of his own.

"I wasn't planning on it but if I was offered enough money I would sell it definitely."

"If McGregor got that chequebook out he would be more than welcome to it."

The mosaic will be on show at Kildare County Show in Athy on June 18.

And who knows, maybe The Notorious himself will even pop down for a look?

This is just too much.

Tom Hardy has penned an emotional tribute to his dog Woody, who sadly passed away earlier this week.

In a heartfelt blog post, the actor told fans about his loss, explaining that Woody had died following a six-month battled with polymyositisis – a rare, autoimmune, muscle disease.

Tom had rescued the dog back in 2012 when he was filming his film Lawless in Atlanta, and the two have been “best friends” ever since.

In the post, Tom told the story of the night he and Woody first met, explaining how the Labrador-cross ran out in front of his car one night while he was driving in Georgia with his Lawless co-star, Jessica Chastain.

He then got out of his car and went out looking for the dog, who was just 11-weeks-old at the time.

He wrote, “Jessica asked me was he a girl or a boy. It's a boy I said. How do you know. Erm… I can feel his Woodstock. great !!! let's call him Woodstock!!! And so it was.”

When it came time for Tom to return to London, Jessica's parents stepped in and took care of Woody at their California home until the actor could return to the US.

Tom's wife, Charlotte Riley, also had a close bond with the rescue dog.

“Charlotte worked tirelessly with him to get him through a rough case of separation anxiety. He loved her like his Mum. And when she was pregnant he guarded her fiercely.”

Woody was quite the regular on Hollywood movie sets, and red carpet premieres, and was even named TIME magazine's 73rd most influential animal .

“He beat JAWS. Something we all thought was brilliant. He's been in peaky blinders. Legend everyone who met him loved him. He didn't have a bad bone in his body. All he knew was love,” Tom wrote.

“I don't normally speak out about family and friends but this is an unusual circumstance. Woody affected so many people in his own right.”

Tom finished the heart-breaking letter by thanking Woody for the times they shared together, stating that “the world for me was a better place with him in it and by my side.”

“Thankyou Woody for choosing to find us. We will love you and be with you and you with us forever. Never ever ever forgotten. Your Boy tom xxx”

We're not crying, you are!

If there was ever a worldwide vote for 'person least likely to be in a boyband', there's a pretty good chance Russell Brand would come in at number one (or top ten at least).

But as turns out, everything you thought you knew about the British comedian is a lie.

Appearing on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Russell revealed that he had once auditioned for the boyband, 5ive, admitting that the process had been a "pitiful experience".

"As a young man, I made many mistakes. During one of my frenzies brought on by the methamphetamine, I thought that perhaps I'd do rather well in the boyband 5ive."

He went on to explain how he arrived into audition room with beer in hand before putting it to one side so he could belt out his best rendition of Extreme's More Than Words

"It was a pitiful experience, the people were staring down at the table in disbelief and great disappointment by the time I left."

As we know, Russell didn't make the cut, but according to the man himself, he could have been "the maverick in the boyband. The troubled one, the first into rehab one."

He's nothing if not self-aware.

So, drying clothes indoors is pretty much the norm in this country. Our temperamental weather means there's little point in hanging our washing on the line and tumble dryers are far to expensive to run everyday (or at least that's what our mothers taught us).

However, it looks like we might need to find an alternative solution to our laundry-drying needs as new research has suggested that keeping wet clothes indoors could have a damaging effect on your health and your home.

Speaking to KisSpot, Dr Christine Cowie,  a senior researcher in Environmental Health with the University of New South Wales, said: "From a health perspective… many biological agents are found indoors and they usually thrive on dampness and inadequate ventilation."

"They have found that dampness itself has been a good indicator of risk of asthma and respiratory symptoms. There are other studies that show inhalation of fungal spores… are linked to allergic sensitisation and asthma."

So basically, damp air can contribute to the symptoms of allergies and asthma.

But, it's not all bad news, Dr Nick Osborne, Senior Lecturer at the University of NSW, explained the ways we can work to prevent any of theses issues arising.

“If you’re cooking remember to turn the extractor fan on", he told KidSpot. "Dry the dog off before you come inside and think about where you store your wet coats – put them on the veranda ’til they dry off.

"If it’s sunny get your washing out and make sure if you use a dryer that it’s vented to the outside. It all adds up".

We never thought we'd say this but, these cakes could actually be too pretty to eat.

The buttercream sponges are made by an online bakery in Singapore, and sweet lovers all over the world have just been dying to get their hands on some.

The cakes are eight inches long and can be filled with either Nutella, vanilla or blueberry flavoured cream.

Is it a beach towel ?  they're probably good to eat after a swim.

A post shared by Batik Roll Cakes + Buttercream (@batikrolls) on

Hand-crafted and designed by Batikrolls by Nura , these little beauties cost around €18.00 each, but my goodness they look so worth it.

Each cake is decorated with a Batik pattern – a traditional Indonesian technique of hand-dyeing fabrics using patterns and wax.

So, how does this work for cake?

Well, the bakers start off by drawing the design – either free-hand or with a stencil.

Next, the design is completely filled with buttercream of various colours and baked in the oven for a few minutes.

The batter is then added, and the entire dish is returned to the oven.

Speaking to Mashable, Batikrolls said explained, "The tricky part is (combining) the (prints) together with the cake and baking it together. After that, we flip the cake upside down and peel away the tracing paper to reveal the (print)."

Unfortunately for us, Batikrolls are completely sold out until July 2017, so get those orders in soon you if fancy a little mid-summer treat.

Pop superstar Katy Perry sat down with Eoghan McDermott to play one of our favourite teenage 'would you rather games' in a video that has since gone viral.

Katy was faced with a very difficult decision – choosing whether to snog, marry or avoid three of Ireland's top sporting stars.

Dublin footballer Bernard Brogan, Galway hurling Joe Canning as well as Ireland full-back rugby player Rob Kearney were her three choices.

A post shared by KATY PERRY (@katyperry) on

It was a tense decision-making process, with Katy telling Eoghan she couldn't possibly commit to marrying someone she had never met, and so changed the game to kiss, f***, discard.

Ultimately, she made the swift decision to bed Rob Kearney, shift Joe Canning and avoid 'trying her luck' with Dubliner Bernard Brogan.

We've all been there, completely langers after a night out, shoes in hand, and nothing seems more fun than getting a lift in a rickshaw up to Supermacs.

There's the global negotiation strategies needed to agree on a fare, the mandatory Snapchat videos taken while being cycled down the street, and the sweet sweet relief of taking the weight off your formerly high-heeded feet.

Unfortunately, Dublin City Council has issued a public advisory notice about the nifty man-powered bikes.

DCC is warning the public about safety concerns when using rickshaws.

'Dublin City council wishes to advise members of the public, for their own safety and the safety of others, that rickshaws operating in Dublin City are not regulated by DCC or otherwise,' reads the notice.

The warning also said that 'some rickshaw operators appear not to have public liability insurance.'

'Rickshaws are a real difficulty in in Dublin because they’re unregulated,' Green Party councillor Ciaran Cuffe told TheJournal.ie

'I don’t necessarily think that rickshaws need to be banned, but those who use them should should ensure that they’re insured,' he said.

Death by Chocolate Cheesecake

For the base
24 Oreos, crushed
100g butter, melted

For the filling
900g cream cheese, softened
170g icing sugar
30g cocoa powder
4 eggs
250g dark chocolate, melted

For the topping
200ml cream
200g dark chocolate chopped

Method

Preheat oven to 180°C. Mix Oreo crumbs and melted butter and press into bottom of 9 inch springform pan. Bake for 5 to 10 minutes and let cool.

Beat the cream cheese with the sugar and cocoa powder until smooth. Add the eggs, one at a time. Add the melted chocolate, cooled down and mix until smooth. Pour the mixture over the crust and spread to get a flat surface. Bake for 60 to 70 minutes. Let cool for a few minutes then remove from tin and refrigerate overnight.

Heat the cream and pour over a bowl with the chopped chocolate. Let sit for one minute and mix until smooth and glossy. Pour the ganache allowing it to run down the sides a bit.
