Lady Gaga takes the lead in Bradley Cooper's brand new remake of A Star is Born, and will be ditching her stage name to be credited as Stefani Germanotta.

Following in the footsteps of icons Judy Garland and Barbara Streisand, the film follows the story of two musical stars, one who's fame is waning as the other propels to stardom.

The blonde star took to Instagram to share one of the first snaps of the new project.

"I am so excited to star in my first movie alongside someone I'm so lucky to call my friend," Gaga gushed.

"I always wanted to be an actress on the big screen."

"The story of A Star is Born is so special and I'm so grateful to Bradley for making my dream come true. Can't wait for you to meet Ally."

However, the model recently revealed that she suffered from Hypothalamic Amenorrhea (no menstrual cycle) for almost four years, and is now encouraging other young women to practise the art of balance in their lives.

''Balance is not flex bowls and clean eats – Balance is a bar of chocolate if you want one, sleep, eating and drinking in moderation and maintaining a shape…''

**read and forget the pic** Wasn't gonna post it but decided it was important to – before insta for a young (ish) lady i would have been described as slim. Now maybe not so much or at least not "lean". I am not lean but I am maintainable and well, I may not be insta fit but a dairymilk is worth more to me now. When I was lean I was missing something fundamental that so many "lean" and apparently inspirational girls suffer with and some wear as a badge of honour. Hypothalamic Amenorrhea (no cycle) and for almost 4 years – (1.5 years of that was recovery which is horrendous@- And that's how long it took to recover!). The irony is I was never thin, I never looked unwell just Low in bodyfat. All these things lead (not may lead, they actually happen) to osteopenia, infertility, anxiety, insomnia, easier weight gain, depression etc etc… I say this only as so many here see people as an inspiration because they're starving to get into a bikini. Balance is not flex bowls and clean eats – Balance is a bar of chocolate if you want one, sleep, eating and drinking in moderation and maintaining a shape… since I've "recovered" I've been able to reduce some body fat I'm about 1.5kg less now than that…exercise 3 days max (you don't need more), eat, sleep and somewhat feel – because when your hormones stop working you lose "all the feels". Saying the gym helps you mentally (I call BS for most) may be the case but not if you're hormones are suffering, sleep or a mindful walk may help you more. Disclaimer – if you are on the pill you will have a withdrawal bleed but may not be able to alone. It's a topic that needs to spoken about with PT's, the media and should make you question what is defined as inspirational. Sorry to preach but it was a long journey I'd not wish on anyone and posts I've seen off young girls the last few days made me really sad. Disclaimer 2 – I never wear matching anything to the gym because I not much of a sap #fitfam #irishfitfam #ukfitfam #fitgirls #bikinigirls #running #heathy #loveyourbody #bodypositive #womenshealth #crossfitgirls #curves

The body positivity movement has come on leaps and bounds, even in hard-to-change industries like fashion and beauty.

Fashion has become more size-inclusive, and body positive models have come forward to describe the pressures of conforming to the rigid industry standards.

One model who knows the difficulties of clothes shopping is Emily Bador, who battled with her body to maintain a typically model-esque physique, and has since embraced a healthier lifestyle.

A post shared by e m i l y bador (@darth_bador) on

"Wanted to get this off my chest for ages, but can we talk about how scary buying clothes is for one sec? Like no one talks about this?" she said, posting a mirror selfie to her 94,6000 Instagram followers.

"I do get that for a lot of people their weight is a big issue but personally I've never been afraid of my weight or my measurements really, because to me it kinda feels arbitrary?"

"But clothing sizes TERRIFY me. I always used to battle to get in to the smallest size possible because it made me feel good about myself, I would literally rejoice and feel on top of the world if I could fit into an XXS or UK4 (when actually they were tight as fuck and hella uncomfortable)."

A post shared by e m i l y bador (@darth_bador) on

She went on to describe it as being "like, if i could compare myself to other people, and be smaller, it made me feel good about myself?"

"No one talks about their weight really and most people don't know their measurements, so clothing sizes were such an easy way to compare my self to others. clothes shopping would honestly give me panic attacks, changing rooms were my worst nightmare and the fact that no size was the same in any shop sent me off the wall."

"I'm finally coming to terms with the fact, i will never ever again fit into a UK 6 (US 4?), or an XS and I shouldn't berate my self for that. My body is always gonna fluctuate and change, and i no longer base my worth on what fucking clothing size i fit into."

A post shared by e m i l y bador (@darth_bador) on

Emily is right not to base her body confidence on a label inside her jeans, and this reminder to feel comfortable no matter what that size is is an important message of positivity.

You could be a size 12 in one shop but need a 14 in another, and then somehow fit into that size 8 top in another.

Sizing is inconsistent, but your body confidence shouldn't be.

A recent study by the University of Washington's School of Social Work, has revealed that married same-sex couples enjoy a higher quality of life than single LGBT adults.

In 2014, 1,800 LGBT people over the age of 50 were surveyed in the 32 states of America where same-sex marriage was already legal at the time.

Of those who took part, one quarter were married, one quarter were in long-term relationships and the remainder were single.

The results were published to Eurekalert last week.

The research revealed that in general, participants in relationships (married or long-term), showed better health outcomes than those who were single, with those who were married faring even better, socially and financially.

The study also found that single LGBT adults were more likely to have a disability and reported lower physical, psychological, social and environmental quality of life.

It is thought that the tax exemptions, and social benefits enjoyed by married couples may be a contributing factor.

As same-sex marriage was only legalised in Ireland and across the United Sates in 2015, research on the subject is quite limited, however, researchers say they will continue to examine the influence same-sex marriage has on the health and well-being of the LGBT community.

Dating can be pretty disappointing, especially when you come armed with expectations of the perfect guy only to feel a little let down when your Tinder date doesn't agree that Stranger Things was the best Netflix show ever made.

However, Grant Langston, CEO of eHarmony, who has analysed hundreds of thousands data streams from the behemoth dating website’s user database, has come up with the four key things you need to agree on for a successful courtship.

While liking the same pizza toppings and holding the same political beliefs are nice, they are simply a bonus compared to these four key concepts:

1. Conflict resolution skills

Are you a fan of conflict?

Or would you rather forgive and forget?

“Conflict resolution skills are baked into your brain when you’re a kid. If you’re really opposite in that, you can’t have a relationship,” according to Grant.

2. Extrovert vs Introvert.

Opposites attract, but Grant reminds wannabe daters that if an extreme extrovert falls for an extreme introvert, compromises will have to be made for the sake of a stable relationship.

“An introvert can be with an extrovert, but it would require compromise throughout life,” he told Elite Daily.

3. Your outlook on life

Having a stormy rather than sunny outlook on life is fine, so long as your partner sees the world through a similarly pessimistic lens.

However, an ever-the-optimist kind of person may feel drained from sharing a lifestyle with a negative Nancy.

4. Sociability

Another quality which could become a challenge in a potential relationship is the level of sociability.

If you love painting the town red every weekend but your partner is more of a Netflix and chill kind of guy or girl, then this could cause some conflict.

At the end of the day, it is these social skills and differences that can keep a relationship our of choppy waters.

“Superficial things don’t really matter that much."

"If you like the same kind of music or food or to travel to the same places, that is fodder for good date, but it doesn’t predict any kind of relationship success,” said Grant."

Australia is set to abolish the 457 Temporary Work visa.

Aussie Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull made the announcement earlier this morning, saying that the visas can no longer be “passports to jobs that could and should go to Australians”.

"We are an immigration nation but, the fact remains, Australian workers must have priority for Australian jobs," he told the public in a video posted to Facebook.

"So we’re abolishing the 457 visas, the visas that bring temporary foreign workers into our country."

The visas are used to bring skilled workers into the country, often with sponsorship from their employer.

As of 2015, 23,205 Irish citizens were in Australia on temporary visas, according to Newstalk.

The 457 will be replaced by a new form of temporary visa with tighter restrictions.

This includes reducing the list of occupations that qualify for the visa down from more than 200 jobs.

A higher English language level will also be among the new requirements.

After an acquaintance told 17-year-old Lamyaa that she would likely be beaten by her father if she made the decision to remove her head scarf, Lamyaa decided to prove her family's critic wrong.

"I did feel the need to prove him wrong,” she explained. “And that’s where messaging my dad came in. I didn’t consider taking off my scarf, I just wanted to have a response from my dad to prove that what he said is false."

Contacting her father with a suggestion that she would like to stop wearing the hijab, Lamyaa was met with nothing but support from the man who moved his daughter to the United States from Saudi Arabia more than ten years ago.

Sharing a screenshot of the original remark alongside a screenshot of her conversation with her father, Lamyaa sought to highlight the disparity between the two.

"Since this is a mentality a lot of you seem to have," she wrote alongside the post which showed Lamyaa's father's insistence that her decision to remove her hijab is her's alone.

"Sweetheart, that's not my decision to make," he had replied. "That's no man's decision to make. If it's what you feel like you want to do, go ahead."

"I'll support you no matter what," he added.

Commenting on the interest which was piqued as a result of her post, Lamyaa said: "I expected him to be supportive but not concerned. It felt great to know that I had him and his love and support."

Eager to remind Twitter users she can't speak for anyone except herself and her family, Lamyaa wrote: "I personally chose to wear the hijab, for myself and for God."

"I do not represent anyone but myself. However, I will always stand up for others."

Lamyaa's tweet has been liked 313,000 times in just three days.

Drake has caused uproar on Instagram today after he took aim at a private residential community and country club by accusing them of 'racial profiling'.

The Hotline Bling singer shared the establishment's logo on his private account and insisted that his stay there during Coachella festivities had been far from harmonious.

Drake, who appeared as a secret guest of Future's during his Coachella slot on Saturday, shared his thoughts on The Madison Club earlier today, and ultimately stirred up one hell of a publicity storm in the process.

"The most offensive place I have ever stayed at in my life with staff who pick and choose who they are going to accommodate based on racial profiling," he wrote in the post which has amassed more than 200,000 likes in just eight hours.

Whether it was Drake's intention or not, The Madison Club has been inundated with scathing remarks and reviews from Drake fans ever since the singer's comments began circulating earlier today.

Responding to the post, one Instagram user wrote: "Welp. There goes their establishment lmfao."

The Madison Club has, however, yet to respond to the star's accusations.

Portuguese president Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa has rushed to Tires, an area approximately 20 miles west of Lisbon, after a light aircraft crashed into a Lidl supermarket shortly after midday today.

According to emerging reports, the plane, which is believed to have been carrying four passengers including the pilot, exploded mid-air before coming down on top of a lorry which was unloading produce in the carpark of the supermarket.

It is understood that a house and a number of other vehicles caught fire in the aftermath of the aircraft's sudden descent in the area close to the wealthy coastal town of Cascais.

Reports from the scene state that the aircraft left Geneva three days ago and stopped in Marseille before ultimately making its way to Tires.

50 firefighters are currently at the scene in addition to emergency service workers.

All four people on board the plane have been killed.
