The Citizens’ Assembly have voted today to amend the current laws on abortion.

In an overwhelmingly vote of 87 per cent to 13 per cent, the majority of the assembly feel that legislation to change the 8th amendment is needed.

The assembly was given a ballot paper this morning with two options.

The first read that 'Article 40.3.3 should be retained in full', while  the second said that Article 40.3.3 should not be retained in full'.

The second vote was expected to get underway this afternoon, but a current power outage to the building has put a temporary hold on proceedings.

The results of Ballot 2, which will decide is the 8th amendment should be repealed entirely or amended, should be announced at 2.30pm.

The Repeal Project continues to fight for body autonomy for Irish women, and their latest video campaign is no exception.

The campaigners have created an incredible new short film that poignantly captures the emotions of the fight to repeal the 8th amendment.

The video was directed by Laragh McCann.

A post shared by Repeal Project (@repealproject) on

Shot in black and white, like many of the Repeal Project's campaigns,  the video shows a group of Irish women using dance to express the issue of abortion rights.

'I hope that the piece, as well as encouraging sisterhood and solidarity as we endure hardships together, also encourages a bridge of understanding from people who are very clear about being pro choice, to those who are in a grey area,' said the director.

The film comes at a pivotal moment, as today the Citizens’ Assembly will vote on whether or not to amend current legislation surrounding abortion in Ireland.

So, we're all more than a little obsessed with Kylie Jenner's famous lip kits, but now there is a new version that's a little closer to home.

Penneys have launched their own version of the metallic liquid lipstick duo, and we're obsessed.

A post shared by Makeup Love Story (@makeup_lovestory) on

The shades look as though they could have come Kylie Jenner's personal lipstick vault, with dupes for two out of three of Kylie's metallic shades.

Molten Lava is the perfect substitute for Reign, and Molten Bronze could easily pass for an affordable version of Heir.

Penneys clearly have their fingers on the pulse when it comes to lip trends, and these kits are sure to sell out as quickly as Kylie's.

We're also dying to get out hands on them for festival season and at only four quid a pop, we might just have to get both shades.

We'll see you in the queue, basket full of lip kits in tow.

'You can see their driving by the bushes in the background are blurred … You definitely always need a seatbelt,' said one Instagram user.

'Seriously?! Not so smart when it comes to road safety,' said another.

Kim Kardashian has caused a bit of controversy with her latest tweet.

Taking to social media to promote her new range of Kimoji merch, the reality TV star shared a snap of her face replacing the Virgin Mary's on a prayer candle.

People were extremely unimpressed with the move, and felt that Kim would not disregard other religious iconography in the same manner.

'Go do this with other religions you low life. You wouldn't dare,' said one.

'We don't need a blessing from the porn star thanks,' said another, pulling no punches.

People took extra offence on Instagram, when the mother-of-two used the image to promote her new merchandise for 4/20, including rolling papers and an 'ass tray.'

Kim's face was superimposed onto the virginal icon's body in a series of trippy, drug-related videos.

'This is blasphemy. Total disrespect to God and Christians,' said one.

A post shared by KIMOJI (@kimoji) on

'It is so sad that someone who keeps claiming she's Christian, but keeps acting like this. You can't bless anything when you're not holy. And God says stay away from drugs and you're promoting it.'

Kim is clearly paying no heed to the controversy, as she stepped out in an outfit with Mary emblazoned across her chest today.

The reality TV star showcased a cameo of the Virgin Mary's face on her see-through black dress, and while she looked pretty dazzling, people are sure to see this ensemble as a further symbol of disrespect for Christianity.

At a time when feminist rhetoric is (rightfully) taking centre stage, it takes a brave woman to reveal she has – on some level – internalised a misogynistic narrative, and allowed it to cloud her judgement at times.

While reflecting on her role in One Day, Anne Hathaway admitted that she feels a sense of shame over her perspective on the work created by the film's female director, Lone Scherfig.

"I am to this day scared that the reason I didn’t trust her the way I trust some of the other directors I work with is because she’s a woman," the 34-year-old admitted.

"I’m so scared that I treated her with internalised misogyny. I’m scared that I didn’t give her everything that she needed or I was resisting her on some level." she continued.

And Anne admits that this wasn't an isolated event, revealing that she often adjusts her perspective depending on the gender of the director.

"It’s something that I’ve thought a lot about in terms of when I get scripts to be directed by women. When I get a script, when I see a first film directed by a woman, I have in the past focused on what was wrong with it."

"And when I see a film directed by a man, I focus on what’s right with it," she added. "I had actively tried to work with female directors, and I still had this mindset buried in there somewhere."

Acknowledging the backlash she may receive as a result of her admission, Anne insists she is aware how this may be perceived and is actively working on adjusting her stance.

"It feels like a confession, but I think it’s something we should talk about… I can only acknowledge that I’ve done that and I don’t want to do that any more."

Despite her apparent regret, Anne has revealed that she has never apologised to Lone directly, but intends to do so

So, while we may have had a few sunny days this month, this weekend is set to see some typical April weather.

Scattered showers are expected, as is heavy cloud coverage.

'A dull and damp start to Saturday for some, with patchy light rain affecting Connacht and parts of Leinster and Ulster in the morning, but generally dry with sunny spells in the southwest, once early mist and fog clears.'

'Often cloudy with a few showers through the afternoon, but occasional brighter intervals also,' according to Met Éireann.

Saturday night is set to be mainly dry with 'some clear spells and some patches of mist or fog.'

Lowest temperatures will be 0 to 6 degrees, and there will be a touch of frost in Ulster.

As if we needed another reason to fight for women's rights, it recently emerged that our environment could be suffering as a result of our inequalities.

In a special issue of the prestigious journal Science, academics warned how our spiralling population, and need to grow large amounts of food, is contributing to the loss of species and habitats around the world.

It is estimated that the global population will hit 11 million by the end of the century, thus increasing our necessary food production by a massive 30 per cent.

So, how does this relate to women’s rights?

Well, in one of the papers featured in the journal, Professor Eileen Crist, of Virginia Tech, and his colleagues, argue that little action has been taken to control the rate at which the human population is growing and this is largely due to the lack resources available to women.

“Wherever women are empowered educationally, culturally, economically, politically, and legally, fertility rates fall.”

“Populations tend to move toward states of zero or negative growth when women achieve equal standing with men, as long as family planning services and contraceptives are readily available.”

The journal put a huge emphasis on the importance of female education, referring to birth statistics in Africa to illustrate their point.

“African women with no education have, on average, 5.4 children; women who have completed primary school have 4.3 children, and a big drop, to 2.7, correlates with completion of secondary school; for those who go on to college, fertility is 2.2.’’

So, simply put, man, woman, child or animal, we could all benefit from improving gender equality.

If you happen to own cream shoes, a black skirt and rock a pretty stunning smile, you may have an admirer on your hands.

A notice, which was spotted at a bus stop in Charlestown yesterday, suggests there may be love in the air…or the hint of a restraining order if comments made by social media users are anything to go by.

Reaching out to a young woman who caught their eye, one lovelorn person explained the circumstances that led to their posting of a very detailed and lengthy notice in public.

"The first time we saw each other was at 11.30pm on a Friday night almost four weeks ago. I think you were talking in Polish?" they wrote.

"I cycled past you on a green bike and climbed over the fence and went into the first house over the fence. As I was closing the door you climbed over the fence too. I should have paid more attention and said something!" the author lamented.

As it turns out, these two people were destined to cross paths again, but unfortunately there was to be no exchange of words.

"You got off the bus near Glasnevin Cemetery and it was only then that I realised it WAS you!!! I'M SO STUPID," they raged.

In the hopes they may actually get to meet properly, the writer signed off by suggesting the woman in question might be available tomorrow morning.

"If you are reading this I will be on the 140 bus service going to Dublin City at this stop on Saturday, 22nd April at 09.20. If you are interested we can meet HERE or you can come to the house you saw me going into almost FOUR weeks ago."

And the question remains; will she show up?
