Ed Sheeran just made major music history by becoming the first singer to have two songs in the top slots in the Irish charts.

The singer has been poised to take the top two spots in charts the world over, but Ireland clearly has some of the biggest Ed fans as the songs are currently sitting side by side atop the IRMA Chart.

Shape Of You and Castle On The Hill are the first two singles the star has released from his brand new album, Divide.

Fans have been desperate to hear more from the red-headed singer, and he took to Twitter last week to reveal ALL of the song names on the new album.

The album has two songs inspired by Ireland on the album, so it's not surprising we've been anticipating the rest of the albums release with bated breath.

Just got the test pressing for the album, can’t wait for you to hear it! Pre-order link in my bio x

Ed also made history by hitting the top two spots in the Australian ARIA Singles Chart (presumably because of all the Irish fans residing over there).

Delighted for him!

Ladies, it's time to gather around for we have some very interesting news to share.

According to those in the know, the decision to go cold turkey on the alcohol front for the first month of the year is actually not as smart a move as many of us have been led to believe.

Putting it simply, Dr. Marc Romano, an addiction specialist at Pompano Beach, Florida's Ocean Breeze Recovery, explained that avoiding alcohol for thirty days is akin to going on a very strict, but short-term diet.

"It's been shown that people who engage in intense short-term diets actually end up putting on more weight when it's all said and done," Dr. Romano said. "And the same logic applies here, for sure."

"It's definitely possible, and probably likely, that anyone doing a Dry January run will probably bounce back even harder once their month is over," he continued. "In reality, there's a much better way to go about this."

While cutting down on drink is not to be discouraged, if you are embarking on a Dry January because you are genuinely worried about your relationship with alcohol, you definitely need to rethink your approach.

"If you are at the point where you need to take a month off drinking, or take stock in your relationship with alcohol, the 'cold turkey' method could present some serious health issues," said Dr Romano.

If you have been drinking at least three or four times a week, your body may react negatively to a sudden period of abstinence.

"Of course, not everyone is going to have seizures if they give up drinking. It all depends on gender, height, weight, frequency of alcohol consumption, all those variables," Dr Romano said.

"But there's really no way to know till it happens. Is that a risk you are willing to take?"

Well, when you put it like that Dr Romano…

Red is the colour of the moment, with Valentines Day just around the corner and Kylie Jenner rocking a ravishing red floor length gown over on her Snapchat.

The makeup mogul opted for the vibrant shade while enjoying a mini break with her bae Tyga and sister Kendall.

The new spring season means that there are plenty of colourful options to choose from when it comes to integrating some red into your wardrobe, but a pretty party dress is the best way to dive into the new season head first.

Red symbolises passion, desire, and love, so add these elements to your life with a sultry gúna dearg.

1. ASOS

This ASOS dress is like a boho version of Kylie's high end glamour.

And using the flamenco dancer emoji while wearing it is obviously a must.

2. Boohoo

Short and sweet, this peasant style dress will be ideal now for work with tights and boots, and perfect for spring barbecues and nights out with bare legs in the warmer months.

3. Missguided

If girly dresses are not your thing, try a cosy, on trend, oversized hoodie styled as a dress.

This type of dress looks just as good with heeled boots as it does with tights and converse, so the options are endless.

4. & Other Stories

& Other Stories just opened up on Dublin's Grafton Street last month, and we are beyond obsessed with it's selection of styles.

This red lace skater dress is seriously on trend with its high Victorian collar, and even better, its on sale right this second.

5. Missguided

This ruffled hem dress is without a doubt a show-stopping party piece.

The simple style lets the on trend hemline do all the talking.

6. ASOS

Embroidery isn't going anywhere this season, so this statement dress is ideal for the fashionista within.

The gorgeous detailing on this piece makes it stand alone look, only a simple pair of heels and an understated clutch are required.

7. Parfois

When it comes to accessorising a red dress, black and neutral shades are best to let the dress do the talking.

A minimal watch and a lightly detailed bag are all you need, and the gorgeous embroidered rose detail on that handbag is the perfect compliment to a rosy red frock.

Date or no date, these red dresses have us totally in love with Valentines-inspired dressing.

When it comes to winter, the Scandinavians have it nailed.

Embracing the weather, adapting their pastimes and creating a haven fit for a winter queen, our Nordic friends do winter (and everything it throws at them) in style.

But it's not just our friends across the water who have mastered this tricky season.

With Dry January limiting our options right now, many of us have adopted the wholesome attitude to winter which is normally attributed to those stunning Scandinavians.

And here are just six signs you're a complete and utter Fandinavian.

1. Weekends are all about brisk walks right now

During the summer months, you may have found yourself trailing home at 5am after a night on the tiles, but this all changed once winter set in.

These days, your Sunday mornings are dedicated to hearty, healthy breakfasts followed by long walks in the countryside.

"Didn't we see that couple last week too? Have we accidentally made new wholesome friends?!"

2. Your wardrobe is all about comfort

You may have been reared on sensible shoes and bobble hats, but once you started paying for your own clobber, your wardrobe began straining to contain all the glitz and glamour… until winter sets in, that is.

A true Fandinavian knows the importance of a good walking shoe, an insulated jacket and a coffee flask that doesn't crack on its first use.

"Look at your man trying to keep himself warm in that yoke. He needs a good padded gilet, and that's that."

3. Your home decor becomes very important

The moment the clocks go back, you're all about extra cushions, fleecy throws and wood-scented candles.

Creating a cabin-like vibe in your front room is what winter is all about, right?

"I haven't turned on a light since October. These candles are my only man."

4. Cooking becomes more of a pastime than a necessity

Throwing together a stir fry after work was the name of the game in the summer, but winter is a different story entirely.

You'll master homemade soup, and you'll make a fairly good attempt at a hotpot, but you have to admit defeat on Scandinavian-inspired fish dishes.

"I can see where they're coming from in fairness, but we were almost evicted over the smell of that trout."

5. You watch the fire more than the TV

When you spend most of the evening staring at a fire, you'll know the transformation from winter-lover to full-on Fandinavian is accelerating.

Plumping for a book in front of the fire over a binge in front of Netflix is what you're all about these days.

"I can barely see the words over that damn candle flickering, but it's worth it."

6. Evenings spent on the drink require a cosy pub

You may have been all about the nightclubs at the height of summer, but once winter sets in, you need a small pub, a friendly barman and, of course, an open fire.

And if they serve soup and bread alongside your hot port, you won't be leaving until closing.

"When I'm a grown-up, I'm going to open my own tavern."

If you find yourself feeling sick after eating or drinking dairy products, chances are you may be lactose intolerant.

Most people are able to digest milk without a problem, but for others the reaction is caused by your body’s inability to fully digest the sugar in dairy products.

Symptoms usually appear 30 minutes to two hours after eating or drinking foods that contain lactose.

While it is generally a harmless condition, it can be pretty uncomfortable for the sufferer, especially if you find yourself getting sick and running to the loo fairly regularly.

If you’re still unsure if that’s the cause of your upset stomach, here’s five symptoms you may experience:

1. Diarrhoea

2. Nausea or vomiting

3. Abdominal Cramps

4. Bloating

5. Gas

Although rare, some people are born with no lactose activity which causes them to be lactose intolerant.

Generally, children develop a secondary lactose intolerance following an illness, injury or after an operation on the small intestine.

The Luas was out of action this evening between Beechwood and Stephen's Green on the greeen line – causing rush-hour chaos for thousands of commuters.

Tram officials said that an earlier incident at Harcourt was to blame.

The line has thankfully just reopened in the last few minutes, but there are delays are to be expected as services gradually return to normal.

"Green Line service has been restored with delays following earlier disruption," read a statement on Twitter. "We apologise for the inconvenience."

Pictures on social media this evening showed passengers making their journey home along the Luas tracks – many of whom were using their phones as torches to light up the ground ahead.

Jeans are a tricky thing to buy: they are always either too long, too short, have a saggy ass or just plain wrong all over.

And most of us simply can't buy a pair without trying it on first, making online shopping a no-no.

But what if you've just spotted the most perfect looking pair on Asos? Or the black (half prices) ones on Boohoo won't stop calling you?

Well, that's what the following guide is for – stick to it and you'll safe in the knowledge that the next time you open your parcel they WILL fit.

1. Measure yourself

Take all measurements: hips, waist and inseam from the crotch down before clicking buy. Once you know these you will be one step closer to finding the perfect pair. And sure once they fit at the fullest part of your body the rest can be altered.

2. Check the size charts

This is where your measurements will come into their own. Don't just look at the size 8, 10, 12 etc – check the measurements underneath instead. Remember, sizing can vary depending on designer so don't rely on your usual size.

3. Don't forget about length

No matter how good they fit on the bum, your jeans will look awful if they fall too short or too long. Yes, you can always take them to a tailor (if they're really worth it) but sometimes that can be more of a hassle.

4. Do check the fabric

For instance, you may need to buy a smaller size if the jeans are a stretchy fabric or go one size up if they are tight skinny.

5. Make sure you go for a store with a good return policy

No matter how much measuring you do… certain jeans just don't look nice on – so do check the store's return policy before making your purchase.

No longer will you have to fear your delivery, or have to send back ANOTHER pair because they just don't fit; finally you can actually look forward to opening the parcel, knowing that they will be perfect.

If you're the oldest in the family, you're probably used to getting your own way, hogging the remote and being (secretly) looked up to by your younger siblings.

And the good times don't stop there, with studies often reminding us that the oldest sibling in the family is more likely to excel in life and meet certain expectations with ease.

Unfortunately, however, the latest findings on this front prove that being the oldest isn't all it's cracked up to be.

According to recent research based on data collected from 400,000 Norwegians, first-born children are more likely to be obese and suffer from high blood pressure.

Commenting on the study's findings, lead author Professor Sandra Black of the University of Texas at Austin said: “While first-borns are taller, they are also more likely to be overweight and obese."

"Compared to second-borns, first-borns are four per cent more likely to be overweight, and two per cent more likely to be obese."

"Overall, we find that first-borns are less healthy in terms of physical markers such as blood pressure, triglycerides, and indicators of overweight and obesity.”

And if that wasn't enough to contend with, the research suggests that expectations placed on first-borns may be to blame for their ill health.

"Firstborns are often perceived to be intense and career-orientated while later-borns are considered to be more laid back and creative," Dr Black explained. "This provides a possible set of explanations for these findings."

“High blood pressure and triglycerides may be caused by the stress that results from this driven, competitive personality type," she concluded.

Well, there you have it…
