People were left scratching their heads yesterday, when Facebook accidentally declared them ‘dead’ to their friends.

Apparently, a ‘terrible error’ led to some active profiles featuring a memorial banner reserved for deceased users.

The error, which was part of a mass glitch activated on Thursday, even pronounced Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg as deceased!

Naturally, people were left confused and upset by the change, and Facebook engineers got to work right away to remedy it.

Needless to say, the social media company’s head honchos were pretty mortified over the whole situation.

“This was a terrible error that we have now fixed. We are very sorry that this happened,” a Facebook rep said, in a statement.

We should think so!

Of course, some of the responses to the glitch were downright hilarious.

“RT if you dead on Facebook,” joked one Twitter user.

Another tweeted a snapshot of the memorial banner added to his profile, and wrote: “Apparently, Facebook marked me as deceased. So…yeah. I’m dead. RIP.”

“Now that Facebook is making us call our families to tell them we aren’t dead, it’s the perfect time to talk to your family about racism,” tweeted another incensed user.

Hang your heads in shame, Facebook!

Ever since we found out that Gilmore Girls was coming back to our screens, talk has turned to the big question of the series: who will Rory end up with?

Throughout her years at Stars Hollow, Rory attracted the attention of plenty of hotties, and we kind of had a soft spot for all of them.

There was Dean, her first love, who she ended up losing her V-card to (even though he was actually married at the time); there was tortured soul Jess, who we all just wanted to give a good shake; and then there was Logan, the super-slick (super-hot) rich-kid who got her a Birkin.

With so many hotties, it’s hard to choose who Rory should or would end up with, and it’s been a major point of speculation – until now, that is.

Yep, it looks like Alexis Bledel herself, the actress who plays the role of Rory, has ruled out one eligible bachelor: Dean.

the best man

Stunning Alexis slipped up during an interview with Us Weekly this week, when talk turned to her chemistry with Jared Padalecki, who plays the role of Dean Forester.

“It was great working with him again. He’s always so affable and friendly, and he’s got this great energy. Our scene was so fun to film. It was great to work with him again,” she said.

Alexis seemingly realised her misstep immediately, quickly adding: “I guess I just said that. So, oops!”

So, with only one scene together, that pretty much cancels out any chance of Rory and Dean getting back together and making a go of it.

One down, two to go.

We spend our lives doing squats and walking around with a hot water bottle superimposed on our tummy, just to battle cellulite and PMS – but what if a pair of TIGHTS could do the hard work for us?

Enter Beauty Tights, a new 'miracle' garment created by German legwear company Item M6.

Beauty Tights are not your average €2 Penney’s purchase; they have been specifically designed as ‘a true beauty remedy’.

Not only are these tights supposed to relieve stress and PMS, but they’re also said to zap cellulite on the thighs.

So, what is this sorcery? Here’s the science!

movies philadelphia explain denzel washington

Beauty Tights are made from yarn with melted particles of ceramic crystals which, according to the manufacturers, ‘reflect the body’s warmth and turn it into infrared radiation’.

This energy then ‘penetrates into deeper skin layers’, and zaps those nasty cells responsible for cellulite and dimpling.

There’s a certain acupressure point on our legs called the ‘spleen 6 meridian’, which is responsible for the relief of stress, anxiety and PMS; and Beauty Tights are believed to stimulate this point directly, just by their fit.

Beauty Tights are going for around €60 on the Item M6 website, and if they can really do all of that, then we’re sold.

There’s only one slight drawback – they haven’t been scientifically proven to actually do all those things.

But, wait! Vogue writer Eviana Hartman did try them out for a fortnight and had this to report: noticeably softer skin and no jet-lag after a six-hour flight to the States.

After it was announced yesterday that The Weeknd will be performing at the Victoria's Secret fashion show, the singing sensation and Victoria's Secret model Bella Hadid have split.

The Starboy singer and the supermodel reportedly split due to hectic work schedules.

The pair began dating back in back in April 2015 when Bella agreed to pose for the Canadian musician's album artwork for the Beauty Behind The Madness.

"Their schedules have been too hard to coordinate and he is focusing on finishing and promoting his album" a source told People.

“They still have a great deal of love for one another and will remain friends.”

Twitter was swamped with messages for the pair, with most users devastated to hear of the split.

"Can't believe Bella Hadid and The Weekend split up! Really thought those two had what it takes," tweeted one fan.

However, other fans of the artist's music are looking on the bright side, hoping that his next album will be inspired by the split.

Neither celebs have released a statement regarding the split. Until then we'll be watching the Victoria's Secret Fashion show for any signs of awkwardness.

Saving up for the hottest designer bag can be quite a chore, and in the run up to Christmas ain't nobody got time for that.

Luckily the High Street is often on our side, and with party season looming on the horizon we all need some autumnal arm candy.

Michael Kors is one of Ireland's fave handbag designers, and the mega brand created another hit with it's Sloan quilted shoulder bag.

A photo posted by Michael Kors (@michaelkors) on

The luxurious velvet finish and gold hardware make this cross body the most coveted A/W piece out there, but like all designer bags, it comes at a price.

Going for €350, it's definitely out of our already stretched Christmas budgets.

Luckily, high-street accessories haven Parfois is rushing to our rescue, with their delightfully opulent velvet offering.

PARFOIS VELVET CROSS BODY €24.99

This Christmas party creation is totally twinning with Michael Kors, down to the gold and velvet chain strap, quilting and shape.

If you're not all about emptying your bank account in favour of a designer drop, this Parfois piece is a total sartorial steal at just €24.99.

We dare anyone to tell the difference!

If you were born without a flair for languages, trying to get your head around anything other than your native tongue is no mean feat.

And trying to get your head around German can be even harder for some people.

For many of us, it's the type of language that trips you up at every turn, but once you get stuck in, you're away in a hack.

Unless, of course, you're us, that is.

1. You might have memorised the Der, Die, Das, Die table off by heart, but it will never help in an exam.

“Hold on until I re-write my table for the 14th time.”

2. You get an inexplicable thrill by throwing random capitalised words into your sentences.

“We can’t do this in English, ya see. But with you guys, it’s allowed!”

3. Waiting until the end of the sentence to find out the verb still infuriates you.

“It’s like you have to make your brain work backwards.”

4. No matter how many times you might try, you still can’t get your head around the Dative case.

“Wait now, who is the apple being given to?”

5.  You accept you will never know which article goes with which noun.

“And I’m just going to have to live with it. They’ll know what I’m talking about.”

6.  You quote Sideshow Bob’s famous line at least once a day.

“Die Bart die, lads. Know what I mean?”

7. You get thick with people who say German is a harsh language (even though you secretly agree).

“Ehhh, I think you’ll find it’s beautiful… in its own way.”

8. You laugh at the word wiener because you can’t grow up all at once.

“It’s like they’re challenging me to keep a straight face.”

9. You secretly hate classmates who nail the accent with little to no effort.

“I still sound like I’m chewing a toy truck even when I try my hardest.”

10. You get a major thrill when you get through an entire passage and actually understand it.

“Auf wiedersehen biatches, I’m outta here.”

11. You learn a filler word and you include it at least ten times in each and every oral you ever do.

"Genau… genau… mmmm…. genau."

Muddy puddles, queues, and sore feet – not to mention alarmingly empty wallets (taxi fares and €10-a-pop G&Ts will do that): let’s face it, a night out in Dublin town tests even the hardiest of party souls.

Sure thing – it has its perks. However, for the foreseeable future (especially with Yuletide celebrations in the offing) our coveted after-work drinks and get-togethers are getting a MAJOR overhaul.

Because from lovely bar staff to cosy clothing, there are five ways that suburban socialising totally trumps town every time…

1) You can legitimately ‘go for one’:

Let’s be honest – if you’re out in town, you’re properly ‘out out’. And no matter how good your intentions, before you know it it’s 2am and you’re ordering a large taco chips baguette with extra mayo. #TheShame.

2) You’ll save a load of cash:

A taxi to and from the city centre coupled with the eye-watering prices venues there charge for drinks makes an excursion into town anything but cheap. The alternative? The Crystal Bar at Sandyford’s Beacon Hotel – it’s seriously chic (the interior is particularly WOW) without being stuffy and the 4pm-7pm offers on wine, draft beers and cocktails are pretty unbeatable too.

3) Mid-week soirees are perfectly reasonable:

Town on a Tuesday? Surely not! But by staying local, any day of the week is a perfectly reasonable, respectable, and indeed refined for a quiet get together, girlie chats, and catch-ups with your colleagues.

4) The bar-staff are just… waaay nicer:

We don’t blame town-based staff for being a bit gruff – not least at this time of year. After all, their place-of-work is constantly jammers and sweaty, AND they have to contend with endless streams of, ahem, animated lads and lassies. Which is why when it comes to unwinding after a long day, your local spot is a far better bet.

5) You don’t have to go super fancy pants:

A pair of jeans with flats and a snug jumper – or whatever you happen to have on in the office earlier that day; a suburban soiree puts so much less pressure on our already-stressed wardrobes. Hurrah!

The candlelight-filled Crystal Bar in Sandyford’s Beacon Hotel is a gorgeously fabulous location for after-work get-togethers, friendly chats and chilled-out soirees. You can find out more here

If the thought of turbulence has you reaching for a parachute, then it might be worth taking the following advice into account when booking your next flight.

Responding to a question posed on Quora, Bruno Gillissen, an airline pilot, revealed that the worst place to sit should the plane encounter turbulence is the back.

Referring to four colleagues for confirmation on this one, Bruno said: "All four agreed upon the back of the plane being the worst place. All pilots would agree with this as well I think."

Elaborating further, Bruno told anxious flyers that if they hoped to avoid the worst of a bumpy flight, they should opt for the front of the cabin when booking.

"Three out of the four were convinced the least turbulence is felt in the very front; only one of them pointed to somewhere over the wings," he wrote.

"The three female flight attendants agree with most airline crew that the least turbulence is in the front of the airplane. That is consistent with my experience," Bruno confirmed.

And if you're wondering why there wasn't a unanimous verdict, Bruno sugested it was down to lack of experience on the part of those involved.

"The three who had no doubt it was the front of the plane were female flight attendants with more experience. The one who disagreed and opted for the wing zone was a junior male flight attendant."

Well, that's good enough for us – to the front!

If you assumed that Scarlett Moffatt prepared for her stint in the I'm a Celebrity jungle by tending to her tan, nails and eyebrows, you would have been selling the Gogglebox star a little short.

While being interviewed on Capital North East Breakfast, the 26-year-old revealed that because she had been anticipating the horror involved in Bushtucker Trials she decided to get a head of her fellow campers by simulating her own trials at home.

According to the star, she has been "eating really chewy Scotch eggs and pretending they are kangaroo balls".

No, seriously.

And even if she's lucky enough to skip the kangaroo testicles once Down Under, Scarlett still fears the rations of rice and beans she will be provided with due to the effect they have on her intestines.

"I do get a bit windy on a night and you're, like, with people aren't you?" she said. "I'm going to have to be like 'eeee did you hear that!? What's that noise?"

Oh, and if you think our favourite Gogglebox star is planning to showcase her new figure in a Myleene Klass-inspired shower moment, think again.

"My tan will go really streaky. At some point it will look like I have some sort of disease!" Scarlett said. "I think I might just go for dips in the lake, I don't think I'm a shower sort of person."

We can't WAIT to see her in action around the campfire.

Yuletide yumminess isn't usually associated with fast food, but popular chicken chain restaurant Nandos is giving us one more festive treat to look forward to this year.

Nandos is introducing it's first ever Christmas menu, complete with the ultimate cranberry sauce-laden sandwich.

The restaurant combined two Nando’s favourites into one burger, a flame-grilled boneless chicken thigh and chicken breast fillet to complete this feat.

Nandos explained to the Mirror that the new burger will be"served in a Portuguese roll on a bed of baby spinach, the PERi-Berry Burger is topped off with a PERi-Berry Chutney featuring cranberries, raspberries and blueberries, infused with PERi-PERi Chillies – adding warmth and heat and a touch of sparkle to occasion."

If you're starting those New Year's resolutions early the restaurant has a new carb free addition.

The popular Peri Peri wings are getting a Christmas makeover with a tangy PERi-Orange glaze.

"Combined with Nando’s signature PERi-PERi, and available in a choice of heat levels, PERi-Orange wings are available in plates of 3, 5 or 10 wings."

The new Christmas feast will be available from November 16th all the way through to January 3rd. Perfect for those New Years day hangovers.
