For anyone who thought the Dublin Bus strike may give them free rein over the bus lane during the 48-hour stoppage this week, think again.

Issuing a warning to the public this afternoon, the Gardaí reminded motorists that the same rules apply to the bus lane despite this week's industrial action.

Motorists are not permitted to use the bus lane with Gardaí reiterating that the lanes "will operate as normal during operating times."

"Although Dublin Bus services will not be operating during this time, bus lanes will continue to be used by other public service vehicles, emergency service vehicles and cyclists."

Acknowledging the stress which lies ahead for thousands of people in the city this week, they continued: "An Garda Síochána recognise that the public will face difficulties therefore commuters are encouraged to plan ahead and identify alternatives forms of (public) transport on the day."

With hundreds of thousands of bus users forced to find alternate modes of transport this Thursday and Friday, authorities urged us to exercise caution.

"There will be an increase in the number of vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians on the roads. An Garda Síochána appeal to all road users to take extra care on their journey," they said.

Let's all just stay at home, shall we?

Choosing a wedding dress is stressful enough in itself, but deciding on a dress which will suit multiple women is a mammoth task.

When one friend refuses to show off her arms and another friend just doesn't do high-neck, most brides-to-be have their work cut out for them choosing a shape, style and shade which flatters the women she has chosen as bridesmaids.

If you're currently struggling to appease everyone in your bridal party, you may want to check out the gown currently riding high on the 'most pinned' chart.

The Lace Illusion Neckline Dress from Camille LaVie comes in eight colours, boasts a crisscross pleated bodice and a stunning chiffon skirt.

Oh, and the best part? This floor-length gown can be worn multiple ways meaning that each bridesmaid can showcase or conceal whichever features she wishes.

Coming in between £118 and £134, it looks like this gown, which has been pinned a staggering 170,000 times, is your go-to gown for that oh-so-big day.

Christ, we'd wear to the local if we could get away with it.

While Katie Price’s parenting tactics are often scrutinised in the press, it’s not every day her former husband Peter Andre feels forced to discuss their parental debates in his personal column.

But it seems the famous pair’s opposing opinions on their kids’ use of social media is one topic which the Mysterious Girl singer feels particularly passionate about.

Speaking to new! magazine the father of three explained that while he has been “working with Katie” to co-parent 11-year-old Junior and nine-year-old Princess, he is totally opposed to his ex’s recent decision to create Instagram accounts for their kids.

Stressing that his discontent with the situation is grounded in fears over what his children could be exposed to online, the 43-year-old said: “I don't like kids having them because I think it opens them up to all sorts of issues, but as a parent you have to compromise with the other parent and try to work together.”

“Everyone knows I don't allow them to have phones or social media at my house, but I guess it doesn't necessarily mean to say I'm right,” he continued.

However after admitting that he has since given in to Katie’s decision on this occasion, Peter said he now just wants to “advise and encourage” Princess and Junior on their social media usage.

Last week Katie defended her decision to create Instagram accounts for both kids by claiming it was a way of furthering their careers.

The famous glamour model told the Loose Women panel: “I am no way a bad parent; I’ve got five beautiful, very well-mannered children.  My kids have been brought up in the industry, now they’re being booked for jobs themselves.”

“Social media is the future.  I won’t allow them on Snapchat, Facebook etc.  But all their friends are on Instagram.”

While her decision has been subject to huge criticism online, the 38-year-old Brighton native says she intends to monitor her children’s online activity as best she can.

Now that there's a Starbucks at every street corner, it's hard not to indulge every now and again.

However, we'll soon be running in there every weekend morning now that they're offering a brunch menu.

The new menu is currently under trial in some US outlets and includes pancakes, Belgian waffles, baked French toast and quiche.

And looking at some snaps on Instagram, this will go down a treat in our bellies.

If, and when, the brunch menu comes to Ireland, it'll only be available on weekends between 8am – 2pm.

Let's hope it'll arrive here soon!

With his long hair, super-skinny jeans, oodles of tats and hoarse voice, Harry Styles definitely had a slightly rockier edge than his band members back in the height of their 1D fame.

And it seems like his Mick Jagger take on boy band style has piqued the interest of iconic rockers Red Hot Chili Peppers.

No, seriously.

Having just signed a pretty big deal with Columbia Records, Harry, who is currently filming Dunkirk, may soon be belting out a track penned by none other than Anthony Kiedis and the lads.

Commenting on their new album The Getaway, Anthony explained that they have a whole host of songs which didn't make the cut, but may suit good ol' Harry down to the ground.

"We've got 20-30 songs that didn't make the album and are on the cutting room floor," Anthony said of their studio time.

"There's one that could be great for young Harry," he added in a move which will have die-hard 1D fans whimpering into their hands and pressing replay on Little Things.

Now this is definitely one to watch.

The nude embellished dress that Marilyn Monroe wore to sing Happy Birthday to John F. Kennedy is going up for auction.

The infamous Julien's Auctions is offering the dress on November 17, where they believe it will be sell for around $3m (€2.7m).

At the time Marilyn wore the dress, it was considered very daring (think Kate Moss' naked 90s get-up) and she even had to be sewn into it.

Ms Monroe passed away less than three months after her Happy Birthday performance, and President Kennedy died a year later.

The dress will be showcased at the Museum of Style Icons in Newbridge before it's November selling date.

Not only do Dublin Bus users have to contend with six days of industrial action across the month of September, but they also recently learned that service will grind to a standstill the night before the first official strike day.

And with the Luas strikes still fresh in the minds of the public, commuters are fearing the worst as hundreds of thousands are set to bear the brunt of the upcoming Dublin Bus strike.

Thankfully for us weary commuters, Hailo have decided to come to the rescue and are offering a special deal for commuters at specific points during the first 48 hour stoppage this month.

According to the Irish Mirror, anyone taking a taxi between 6 as well as 7am and 10am and noon this Thursday and Friday can avail of a 50 per cent discount.

Commenting on the generous gesture, Hailo in Ireland's General Manager, Tim Arnold, said: "We’re anticipating a huge surge in demand during the upcoming bus strikes, so are encouraging Hailo users to choose off-peak travel where possible."

"The recent Luas strike days have been very busy for Hailo and in particular for Hailo Prebook," he added. "We’re committed as always to getting our customers to their destinations."

Hailo, from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you.

When it surfaced in the early hours of this morning that HiddleSwift was no more, many took to social media to announce their absolute delight.

But one person that's staying close to Taylor is her BFF Selena Gomez – and she has some words of wisdom for the star.

An insider told Hollywood Life: “When Taylor told Selena about the breakup, the first thing Selena advised Taylor to do was slow down.

“Selena’s advice was to take a break from men and to spend some time enjoying being single."

We feel as if we could have told her that ages ago, but sure, hopefully she listens to her BFF.

Just three weeks after celebrating her 50th birthday, former Bond girl Halle Berry has postponed her impending divorce with Olivier Martinez.

Late last year the couple – who married in France just over three years ago – filed for divorce after spending months denying that their marriage was on the rocks.

At the time sources close to the couple suggested that Halle and her actor beau’s contrasting personalities may have contributed to their marriage troubles, but it now seems the pair have found a way to get along as TMZ has reported that they could be set to dismiss their divorce altogether.

Today the celebrity gossip site claimed to have obtained a legal document in which a court clerk asked the parents of two-year-old Maceo Robert if they would like to proceed with their divorce.

Multiple sources have since confirmed their neither party is confident that ending their marriage is the right thing to do and that the Oscar winning actress – who has already been divorced twice before – is still convinced that if her husband were to sort out his anger issues, their relationship could be saved.

Academics at a conference on sustainable urban living have said today that the new plans for College Green in Dublin are "old-fashioned" and need more "nature."

Dublin City Council's plans for College Green were heavily criticised by planners and scholars at an EU-supported conference, and contributors said that redeveloping the city with hard concrete and stone surfaces was "old-fashioned thinking."

The council plans include making the area in front on Trinity College a pedestrian plaza, will will stretch down all the way to the House of Parliament.

This means that no mode of transport, including buses and taxis, will be allowed to cross the area.

According to the Irish Times, Dr Collier, who attended the conference said the "grey" space was "old-fashioned thinking which dates from the 1970s when we thought modern cities would be all concrete and steel”.

When Dr. Collier was asked if he was calling for a “greener” design, he said, “we are demanding it."

We love the irony of all this… College green.

We’ve all seen the heartbreaking images of the kids affected by raging wars; Aylan Kurdi’s body washed up on shore and little Omran Dagneesh who sat in an ambulance shocked after his home was bombed.

Sadly, these heartbreaking images are just a teeny insight into the horror that migrant and refugee children face as they travel, some alone, some with their families, across the continent of Europe searching for a better place to live.

Sadly, according to the Daily News, in 2015, more than 100,000 unaccompanied minors applied for asylum in 78 countries – some as young as six

And in January 2016, the Guardian reported that at least 10,000 refugee and migrant children have gone missing since arriving in Europe. Many of these minors are feared to be the victims of child trafficking.

Each day, more and more unaccompanied minors arrive at Europe’s shores, at risk of a similar fate, and Hozier, along with John Connors, Bláthnaid Treacy, Little Green Cars and Wyvern Lingo want the EU to do something.

Working with a small, grassroots organisation called Bray Refugee Solidarity Group, they are calling for the public to sign a petition to  help get the message to The Justice and Home Affairs Council of Europe that Ireland will not abandon or forget about these vulnerable children.

The charity are calling for the public to sign the petition to shine a light on these missing children, and the thousands more that will continue to disappear if we don’t do something now.

"These are children who have fled war and famine, witnessed the bloody murder of family and friends, who have sailed past the floating dead bodies of their fellow country men, women and children and we believe that when they arrive on European shores, they should be guaranteed safety, and the protection of their basic rights."

We've all been there – you're having a great ol' time with a guy you just met and as luck would have it you part ways without so much as a phone number or Twitter handle.

Most of us would a spend a day or two pondering what might have been before moving on, but not this girl from Co Laois.

In a case of 'when you know you know', this Electric Picnic reveller has decided to take the bull by the horns and get in touch with a radio station in the hopes they could help reacquaint her with a guy she met at the famous Stradbally festival.

"I was at the Electric Picnic at the weekend and on Sunday I spoke to a man under the tree opposite the tiger bar tent on the left hand side of the main stage sheltering from the rain and waiting for Lana Del Ray," she wrote in a Facebook post to Midlands 103.

"He was from Laois on the Cork Road near Abbeyleix, spoke softly, short grey hair, nice smile," she explained.

"He was only at the picnic on Sunday, he said that his friend dropped him over driving his car, but with the rain the crowds and the dark, he with his friends and I with mine he got away without me getting a name or number."

Furious that she let the opportunity slip through her fingers, this Facebook user offered a description of the exchange in the hopes he might see it.

"I was wearing a purple ponchos with the hood up and was sitting down on the grass when he came over then I stood up to talk to him."

Unfortunately not everyone is as romantic as us, and Facebook users have spent more time joking about the situation than coming up with the goods.

"I have a restraining order out for this woman," joked one guy. "I've told you many times now please stop trying to contact me NO means NO please respect that! Jeez."

Won't someone help this gal?!
