He presided over the Ireland team on Saturday – with the squad kicking off their World Cup campaign with a convincing 50-7 win over Canada.

But back in his hotel room, all is not so straightforward for Irish rugby caption Paul O'Connell.

The 35-year-old Limerick-man is staying along with the rest of the boys in green at the Hilton at St George's Park, a state-of-the-art English FA centre located in Staffordshire, not far from London.

The hotel is emblazoned with football memorabilia honouring past English greats – though, understandably, the decor is not entirely to Paul's tastes.

Taking to Instagram last night, he posted a snap of the wall beside his bed – a wall adorned with an action-shot of former England goalkeeper Peter Shilton.

"Peter Shilton watching over me tonight," he wrote. "I'd rather Packie Bonner," he added referring, of course, to the Donegal goalie whose famous penalty save sent Ireland into the quarter-finals of Italia '90.

Mr O'Connell has captained Munster, Ireland and the Lions previously, and with 105 caps, is among the most-experienced players currently taking part in the Rugby World Cup, which runs until October 31.

We bet Ed Sheeran didn't expect this when he opened a letter from an adoring fan.

The 24-year-old singer bravely posted a handwritten note on Instagram which he received from a Korean fan during the latest leg of his world tour.

The fan's note, which was accompanied with a t-shirt, read: "To Ed Sheeran (my great singer), I hope you love the shirt."

All is going well, until it continued with: "You are a little ugly but I love you!"

"Please wear this shirt and get some 2015 concert tour! From Lee Jaung In (your fan)."

A little bizarre yes, but Ed's trusty fans rushed to his side, giving him many words of wisdom.

"You are a beautiful soul", one user wrote, while many others called him "cute".

Upon further inspection, it also transpires that the letter was actually written and delivered some six months ago, but it seems to be witnessing something of an online resurgence again – much to Mr Sheeran's amusement, we're sure.

We all know the feeling of picking out your favourite dress to wear to a party – only to notice five minutes later that there's a HUGE stain on the front.

You look at the tag and it's dry clean only. Your problem? You have no time to get to the dry cleaners yourself!

Yep, that dreaded gut-punch scenario has happened to the best of us. But it won't anymore!

Irish start-up, Laundrie, has launched Ireland's first dry cleaning on-demand app.

The smart phone service will allow users to get their dresses cleaned and clothing pressed with just a few clicks on the app!

The extremely convenient service will see Laundrie pick up your items at the location specified by the customer. It's also available seven days a week, at the time and date of the customers choosing.

Even better, Laundrie is a fully Irish-owned business. Evan Gray spotted an opportunity in the market as people's lives are becoming increasingly busy.

We can all admit it's often a hindrance from your day-to-day schedule to drop into a dry cleaners; but this way you will save time and money. Score!

The premium dry cleaning service collects and delivers within a 48 hour turn around time. The app also provides free delivery and collection for all orders over €20.

Initially launching in Dublin, Laundrie plans to expand to the rest of Ireland in the coming months.

Speaking about the launch of Laundrie, Evan Gray said: "Following a number of years working in the white-collar industry, I saw a gap in the market for a more convenient way to service the cleaning needs of wearing a suit 5 days a week."

“Laundrie is basically like Hailo for your laundry requirements."

We like the sound of this one! Laundrie is currently available for free on AppStore.

We seriously love puppies here at SHEmazing! So when we spotted a litter of more than a dozen adorable canine arrivals doing the rounds online, we got oh-so excited.

And justifiable so, we reckon: because the 14 bassets pups also come complete with an 'everyone say awwww!' video that, upon viewing, will probably just about make up for the fact that it's Monday.

Their mum, Tessa, is two-and-a-half and she's apparently doing brilliantly with her new brood of seven boys and seven girls.

Although it hasn't been entirely plain-sailing: during labour, the pooch had to be rushed to the vets for an emergency caesarean after she struggled to deliver them all safely.

Also, because the average litter size for a basset hound is around eight to 10 pups, Tessa is finding it difficult to feed them all at the same time – meaning Tessa’s owners, Michelle and Andy Robinson and their three children, are stepping in to give her a helping hand.

Michelle, 44, told the Yorkshire Evening Post: "We were all absolutely gobsmacked. We knew she was big but didn’t think for a minute she’d have 14.

"I’m absolutely in awe. After what she’s been through – she’s brilliant."

Michelle also explained that an early ultrasound showed just seven pups in utero.

The Yorkshire-based family has now colour-coordinated the pups by painting their fur with seven shades of nail varnish, so none of them misses out on a feed.

Tessa the Basset Hound stuns vets by giving birth to a litter of 14
Tessa the Basset Hound is recovering at home in Morley, West Yorkshire, after a dramatic birth. Her owners are working in shifts to cover the time-consuming 24-hour feed of all 14 puppies.

Every week we all fall into the pit-hole of having pretty much little-to-no food in the house – and then having a BIG craving for a chipper or Chinese.

Do not cave in!

Here, SHEmazing! has simple – yet mouth-watering – dishes for you to try at home.

From a caramelised onion tart to sautéed shrimp, something (or everything) here will take your fancy.

Monday: Croque madames with tomato and rosemary ham

The croque madame is the most beautiful lady you will ever meet. Full of hearty goodness and ready in less than half an hour, this meal will certainly set you up for the week.

Tuesday: Caramelised onion tart with goats cheese and thyme

This super fancy tart is also super easy to make. Serve it warm or at room temperature to get a delicious crisp off the pastry. Bonus points for being in the oven for only ten minutes!

Wednesday: Prosciutto-wrapped chicken breasts with broccoli rabe pesto

We all know wrapping prosciutto around chicken is NEVER a bad idea, but teaming it with broccoli rabe pesto and some fresh lemons will certainly have your taste buds tingling

Thursday: Sautéed shrimp with lemon-parsley spread and couscous

A lemony, buttery herb spread is the perfect partner for shrimp. Couscous and green beans add a burst of freshness to the dish, all the while taking only 25 minutes from start to finish.

Friday: Beef and broccoli with red peppers

The typical take-out order has nothing on the homemade version. Succulent and juicy, this meal is perfect for a Friday night feast with friends.

She's undoubtedly one of the most gorgeous women in the world.

And on stage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas last night for the iHeart Radio festival, the audience was left in no doubt that Jennifer Lopez is also one of the hottest performers around.

Donning a tiny criss-cross white leotard with nude fish-net tights, the 46-year-old wowed the crowd with her incredibly energetic presence.

It seems that J-Lo is also eager to get in on another hot trend-of-the-moment: namely the thighbrow crease beloved of Beyonce, Rihanna and the Kardashian-Jenners.

Created when your thigh meets your hip, it allegedly looks an eyebrow, hence the name. And with the growth in popularity of high-riding swimsuits, it's pretty much all over Instagram right now.

Certainly, Ms Lopez's high-cut on-stage attire was perfect for embracing the look last night – and she even exaggerated the appearance of her thighbrow with the use of cleverly-positioned straps around her bum.

Also yesterday, Jenny From The Block announced that her forthcoming Las Vegas residency will be entitled, All I Have.

She kicks off the stint in January at the AXIS Theater and it is being billed as a "high-energy production," which features "Lopez’s iconic hit performances, as well as a combination of ballads, Latin music, funk and more".

We all know what you see on Instagram often isn't real.

Even Alexa Chung has openly confessed that her IG feed is full of creative crops.

That's what one Thai photographer has set out to reveal exactly how people distort images to make their lives look more amazing.

Chompoo Baritone named his series #SlowLife, which shows a typically impressive IG post, along with its surrounding reality.

The amusing compositions show people enjoying a moment with friends, on a holiday or making a meal, along with the closely cropped, heavy filtered segment they'd most likely share on social media.

Taking to the current #fit trend, where we see people post photos of their impressive yoga skills; one of Chompoo's snaps shows a girl being assisted by her friend during the handstand.

Another satire is the #foodporn craze, which sees a healthy homemade meal – beside not-so-healthy noodles and a microwave meal.

“No one is as happy as they seem on Instagram,” said Alexa Chung to Stella magazine.

But then she added: “Instagram would be awful if it was reality, wouldn’t it? 'Here are my spaghetti hoops and me crying over EastEnders.'”

Now this was a red carpet to remember!

Big time red carpet events have been scrutinised of late for their rather boring and obvious fashion sense – but last night's Emmy Awards certainly turned the style game up a notch.

Never have we seen so many innovative, daring and risky-yet-classy choices from our favourite stars on TV.

From well established labels to never-before-mentioned designers, here's a look at our top ten looks:

Kerry Washington

This metallic dot lace number from Marc Jacobs was a brilliant choice for Kerry. Extravagant yet elegant, her look is a top player for us.

Laura Prepon

Laura looked like she was a Grecian Queen last night in this Christian Siriano number. Her black hair contrasted with the red and gold beautifully. She was certainly dressed to kill.

Claire Danes

The pencil-thin, slick-sequined stripes combined with heavy chain detail straps was an unconventional choice for Claire, yet we love this Prada number on her so much.

Kiernan Shipka

This Dior combination is odd, but dreamy. The delicately embroidered, lavishly gilded top with black pencil trousers is a refreshing take for the young Hollywood star. Will Kiernan be out next style crush?

Sophie Turner

Game of Thrones actress, Sophie went for sophisticated-cool last night. With mostly all attendees wearing dresses, we love this Galvan jumpsuit with a blue velvet top.

Sofia Vergara

Hugging her in all the right places, Sofia looked like an old Hollywood movie star last night. The Saint John number was the perfect combination of sexy yet classy.

Taraji P. Henson

We're obsessed with Taraji's custom Alexander Wang dress. Detailing a little transparency through the skirt and a keyhole cut-out with chain straps – it sent us to style heaven.

Uzo Aduba

Uzo won an Emmy last night and to collect her award she graced the stage in a pink (and fabulous) Jonathan Cohen gown. This is definitely one for innovation and we love the grey detail across her waist. Very art deco.

Danielle Brooks

Another OITNB actress wowed on the red carpet last night. Danielle shined like the sun in this Christian Siriano number. Top marks for jumping out of the safe colour zones.

Sarah Hyland

Sarah wore a Zac Posen dress last night ans we're crushing on the autumn colour. She styled it perfectly with a short, choppy hair do' and matching jewellery. Brownie points for the same colour nails!

Gorgeous bride-to-be Sofia Vergara has been rather shady about her Big Day since getting engaged last December.

But clearly she was in the mood for wedding chit-chat on the Emmys red carpet last night: she dropped a MAJOR bombshell about her forthcoming nuptials.

Speaking to E!'s Ryan Seacrest, the 43-year-old actress confirmed that she'll be a married woman before the year is out: she'll say 'I do' to her handsome 38-year-old fiance, Joe Manganiello, in November.

Sofia also revealed that she's enjoyed adding her own special touches to the ceremony – including developing and creating her very own fragrance.

Showcasing the scent, which she has dubbed Love, at last night at the awards' show, she told Mr Seacrest that the fragrance "is romantic and sexy" – before offering him a whiff of her wrist.

The Colombian beauty went on to tell Mario Lopez that her wedding dress is going to be "very special dress," adding that it's "all beaded".

And Ms Vergara admitted that she is doing pretty much all the planning: "I ask Joe, like, the important things," she revealed, "but I do everything."

Although she's adamant that the day won't be a monstrous, OTT Hollywood affair. "It's big, but it's not insane. It's an amount of people we can keep under control, mostly family."

There's nothing better than wearing your favourite scent and a fresh new season is the perfect way to update your fragrance.

From the first ever Miu Miu scent to Tom Ford's new blockbuster, autumn's launches range from perky florals, to hearty, woody scents that linger.

Jo Malone – Mimosa and Cardamom

Jo Malone London's Mimosa and Cardamom is the fragrance equivalent of a cosy cashmere jumper – spicy cardamom paired with warm mimosa and tempered with a base of tonka bean.

Marc Jacobs – Decadence

Top marks for the slick bottle design for starters. There is a blend of plum, iris and saffron in the top notes, followed by a heart of rose, orris and jasmine sambac and base notes of amber, vetiver and papyrus woods. Fancy!

Miu Miu – Eau de Parfum

Ths is Miu Miu's first fragrance, and the scent itself is pretty floral; just as feminine as the clothes themselves. A strong lily-of-the-valley top note is joined by rose and jasmine at the heart.

Tom Ford – Venetian Bergamot

This fragrance has punchy top notes of ginger, bergamot and black and pink pepper give way to a heart of magnolia, gardenia, ylang ylang, cedar and pepperwood. This is a real autumn hearty treat.

Chloé – Eau de Toilette

This is a new, lighter take on Chloé's classic rose fragrance, Chloé Eau de Toilette is based upon the white rose and then complemented by bergamot, lemon, magnolia, gardenia, rose buds, cotton flower and musk.

Yves Saint Laurent – Black Opium

YSL's Black Opium gorgeous Eau de Parfum launched last year, and this year's new eau de toilette of the same name is a softer and fresher take on the scent's key coffee note. Fruity top notes of citrus, pear and blackcurrant introduce a heart of coffee, jasmine, orange blossom.

It smells like Halloween already!

If there's one thing American Horror Story actress, Sarah Paulson doesn't like, it's being asked the same question twice.

The 34 year-old actress, who played a woman with two heads in the Freakshow series, was obviously at her wit's end when asked the same joke by Giuliana Rancic for E!.

The red carpet host jokingly asked Sarah if she would win two Emmys for her role in the hit horror series, to which she responded: "Everyone's asked me that and I think the answer is sadly no."

After Giuliana shows her shock, Sarah replies: "No sorry, sweetie, everyone's asked me that." Ouch.

We're not sure who was right or wrong here, but that sure must have been an awkward interview.
