Harry Styles and Liam Payne have been the only members of One Direction so far to break their silence following the shock news of Zayn Malik’s departure yesterday afternoon.

Liam took to Twitter only four hours ago to voice his feelings about the events, saying simply: “So glad to be in bed after a long and strange 24 hours.”

Harry meanwhile, chose not to mention the incident at all, writing to fans: “All the love as always. H.”

Niall and Louis have not broken their silence on social media as of yet while Zayn’s last Twitter message is the one that seems to have kicked everything off, writing angrily: “I’m 22 years old… I love a girl named Perrie Edwards. And there’s a lot of jealous fu**s in this world I’m sorry for what it looks like x.”

It seems that although Liam may have said very little, his message about the events that unfolded yesterday don’t exactly seem to say that all is great between the lads.

Harry was also spotted crying on stage before the announcement was made public, proving that Zayn's departure has obviously been very hard on the guys. 

Let’s hope we’re wrong – after all,  there’s always a reunion tour… 

Update@11:49: Louis Tomlinson has now also taken to Twitter to speak about Zayn's departure from the band. 

Louis took the opportunity to assure fans that the band will keep going as a foursome – even promising to make the new album better than ever.

Jennifer Maguire has given birth to her first child. 

The RTÉ star welcomed a baby girl last night and the new was announced on the 2FM Twitter account earlier this morning. 

Using a rather disturbing, but hilarious photoshopped image of a baby with Bernard O'Shea's head, the radio station revealed that Jennifer gave birth to a baby girl named Florence Myra Zamparelli. 

We LOVE it. 

Congratulations to Jennifer and her husband Lauterio on the birth of their baby girl – such an exciting time!

When it comes to hair, every woman wants thick, voluminous locks.

Those of us with hair that just seems to stick to our scalp and never move will know only too well the feeling of envy when a woman with bouncy large hair walks by.

Now, we have some seriously simple tips on how you can add some volume to your hair.

Choose your shampoo and conditioner wisely
With so many products on the market now it’s not hard to find one to suit your hair. Try using really light-weight products that won’t cling to the hair follicles after you’ve rinsed, weighing your hair down and making it appear flat.

Don’t go overboard
When it comes to conditioner, it’s important to only apply it to the ends of your hair. Any more and your hair will be weighed down and flat as a pancake.

Add some layers
Layers will give your hair some bounce and give it some volume. Speak to your hairdresser about what you want and see what they come up with.

Dry your hair upside down
When drying your hair after a shower, throw your head upside and dry your hair from there.

Backcomb can be your friend
Now we don’t mean channelling Cheryl Cole circa the X Factor US debacle. Backcombing in a subtle way can be a great way to boost some volume for your roots.

Dry shampoo
People with thinner hair will know that greasiness is never far away, meaning dry shampoo is your BFF. However, dry shampoo is also great for creating volume.

Actress Sarah Jessica Parker turns 50 today, and while she's already hit headlines in the last 24 hours by showing off her seriously epic side-eye, we couldn't let that be the only way we marked her big day!

SJP will forever be remembered for her role as Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, and while we loved the show and the characters to pieces, there's no denying that Carrie could be a little annoying at times. Okay, very annoying. All the time.

Abortions, cancer, divorce… she always managed to link it back to her own life. Commendable, really.

 

7. The time she partied all night before a shoot and was annoyed when she looked bad
That's life, Carrie.

 

8. The time she pinned a giant corsage onto her dress just 'cos.
Not to mention the many, many other questionable outfit choices. Oh, Carrie. Stick to the Dior.

It was only hours ago that it was announced Zayn Malik had quit One Direction after five years with the band.

The move came only days after he was accused of cheating on his fiancée, Perrie Edwards and because of this it would appear fans are blaming the Little Mix star.

One look at Twitter will see Perrie being branded as One Direction’s answer to Yoko Ono who was said to be the cause behind John Lennon’s departure from The Beatles back in 1969.

Fans are not holding back in their criticism of Zayn’s fiancée but we’re sure she’s taking it all in her stride – after all, this was surely the expected reaction given the timing of the announcement.

We wonder if these two will make it down the aisle at all with all of this drama…

Let's hope that true One Direction fans will realise that even if his choice to quit the band does have to do with Perrie then that's okay too – after all, it's HIS choice!

Katie Price is well-known for her over-the-top looks and barely there outfits.

Now, it seems the mum-of-five is ready for a make-under and we love it.

In a new photoshoot for the Evening Standard, Katie can be seen rocking minimal make-up, a beautiful long black lace dress and her hair pulled back in a simple style.

The business woman also spoke about her happiness with her new body, saying: “No bloody big boobs. I love it” referencing her recent breast reduction surgery.

Talking about the awful year she has had since her husband Kieran Haylor was caught cheating on her with two of her best friends, Katie says it’s time for her focus to return to business: “I don’t want drama this year, I want business. I had the worst year of my life last year,  but I want to move on and my best way of moving on is focusing on work.”

Kieran and Katie have two chidren together; Jett (19 months) and Bunny (7 months) while Katie is also a mum to Harvey (13), Junior (9) and Princess (7). 

We're glad to hear that Katie is leaving the past behind her and is positive about the future. What a stunning minimal look –  but will she keep it?

Cate Blanchett does NOT appreciate stupid questions and this interviewer found that out the hard way. 

The actress was doing promotional interviews for the newly released Disney's Cinderella recently when she was asked a question that made her get a little hot under the collar. 

When asked by The Project's Jonathon Hyla how she managed to keep the cat in the movie on a leashe, Cate reacts flabbergasted, looking behind to her publicist before saying: "Is that your question? Is that your fu**ing question?"

Thankfully, the actress seemed to take it in her stride and even started to laugh at the ridiculousness of it all.

One Direction have officially announced that Zayn Malik is no longer a part of the band after five years.

Taking to their Facebook page, the band wrote:

“After five incredible years Zayn Malik has decided to leave One Direction. Niall, Harry, Liam and Louis will continue as a four-piece and look forward to the forthcoming concerts of their world tour and
recording their fifth album, due to be released later this year.”

Zayn also released a statement regarding the news, writing:

"My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined. But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band. I'd like to apologise to the fans if I've let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart. I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight. I know I have four friends for life in Louis, Liam, Harry and Niall. I know they will continue to be the best band in the world."

Well, that’s it ladies – Zayn is gone and we are completely devastated.

Thankfully, Simon Cowell says that the band WILL go ahead as a four-piece. Phew!

 "I would like to say thank you to Zayn for everything he has done for One Direction. Since I first met Zayn in 2010, I have grown very, very fond – and immensely proud – of him. I have seen him grow in confidence and I am truly sorry to see him leave. As for One Direction, fans can rest assured that Niall, Liam, Harry and Louis are hugely excited about the future of the band."

Speculation regarding Zayn's future in the band has been under scrutiny since last week when he was accused of cheating on his fiancée  Perrie Edwards. Clearly annoyed about the rumours regarding his love life, Zayn took to Twitter and wrote: "I'm 22 years old…I love a girl named Perrie Edwards. And there's a lot of jealous fu*** in this world and I'm sorry for what it looks like x."

What a very dramatic ten minutes this has been – we need to lie down.

While everyone has been hoping for the best for Rob Kardashian, it seems things have gotten really bad for the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star.

It has been reported that despite many interventions by the Kardashian family, Rob is refusing to accept any help when it comes to his battle with depression.

In recent days, his sister Khloé confirmed that he is suffering with social anxiety while Rob caused some consternation when he posted a photo on his Instagram account where he compared Kim to Amy Elliot Dunne in Gone Girl.

A source for the family told People magazine that the family’s efforts to get any help for Rob have been fruitless so far:

“He is very against therapy and any kind of rehab. But his family will continue to push for him to get help until he does. The attitude has always been that when Rob gets his act together, starts working out and losing weight, everything will be good and he will be happy. But behind the weight gain is this very unhealthy mental state that he keeps struggling with.”

We wish Rob all the best – struggling with mental health issues is never an easy task and we hope he has a strong support system to help him through this difficult time.

Rory McIlroy might have dumped her just months before their wedding date, but tennis pro Caroline Wozniacki has moved on – and she doesn't need our sympathy. 

The sports star was left reeling when Northern Irish golfer Rory made the shock decision to call the wedding off, and says it took her a while to come to terms with the loss. 

"It feels like someone close to you has died," she said of the split in an interview with The Independent. "In my head I had everything until that moment. I had a great career, I was getting married, I had a perfect family. Everything was great. There was really nothing going against me. I was happy, very happy. Then all of a sudden something happens that you don’t expect."

Despite her heartbreak, Caroline says she learnt a lot about herself after the break-up. "I think I didn’t know how strong I was until that happened. And I didn’t know how much you can actually take… You have to go through all of that. I think that taught me so much. I think I grew up so much in that short amount of time."

Rory was quick to move on from the split, and was spotted out and about with Northern Irish model Sasha Gale just weeks later. 

Caroline instead decided to throw herself into her career – though she did make a few sly digs at Rory along the way, like this epic Instagram burn shortly after the split where she revealed she hadn't worn high heels in three years to avoid towering over poor Rory:

Love it!

Although she has not yet found another serious love interest, Caroline says she is taking things as they come. "I know what I want, I know what I can accept, what I can’t accept, what I need, what I don’t need. I think those are all things that I can bring with me in the future. And if I meet another guy who I think is great, then I also know what I can expect from myself and from him."

What a brilliant attitude to have!

Sarah Jessica Parker was celebrating her 50th birthday last night at the New York Rangers game, but she didn't exactly seem in the party mood, if the filthy looks she was throwing around were anything to go by.

One smart Vine user uploaded this clip of Sarah Jessica looking less than chuffed with herself, as her fellow actor Tom Hanks chatted away in blissful ignorance just a foot away.

Maybe he casually mentioned that he hates the SATC2 movie as much as the rest of us…or maybe Sarah Jessica was just chewing her gum really intently? Hard to know for sure…

Whatever was going on, the actress looked a little more pleased in this photo, taken later in the game:
