As far as trendy addictions go, FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) is so last year. The new widespread addiction is FOBO (Fear Of Being Offline).

Yep, according to a study called Coming Of Age Onscreen – which surveyed 18-24-year-olds in 13 different countries – the majority of young people are totally addicted to their phone.

In fact, 70 percent of people surveyed said they need to be able to check their phones at ALL times. Sound like you?

Here are signs you need to get out of your FOBO funk:

1. The first thing you do when you go somewhere new is check for a Wi-Fi connection and make sure your phone has a signal.

2. And if someone doesn't know their Wi-Fi password, it's just like:

3. You treat your phone like a person with feelings.

4. The first thing you do in when you wake up and the last thing you do before going to sleep is check your phone. And this usually happens while doing so:

5. You sometimes spend the whole day on your laptop and don't realise it until you look up and it's dark outside.

6. If you leave your phone in work, you rather travel all the way back than go without.

7. And don't even talk about planes.

8.You've gone to extreme lengths to charge your phone.

9. And a slow-loading page throws you into a crisis.

10. Losing your phone = losing your BFF.

These could be the clothing item that really brings fashion to the next level entirely.

Could there finally be a cure to the terrible feeling of despair this is your phone’s battery running out when you’re miles from an all-important power source?

We use our smartphones so frequently nowadays they are practically attached to our palms permanently. Now Joe’s Jeans are bringing a new meaning to the phrase attached at the hip.

No matter how hard we try, there’s always the risk that our battery is not going to make it until the end of the day before it needs a recharge.

The #Hello jeans are designed so all you have to do is slide your phone into your back pocket and let it charge away. No stress and a full battery.

You will never have to deal with a screen such as this ever again. Amazing. Also, these styles are none too shabby. We really wouldn’t mind having one or two of these in our wardrobes. Stylist and practical, the holy grail of fashion.

Oh but wait. There may be one slight issue with these miracle jeans.

They do come with quite the price tag. While you cannot deny how much you would enjoy never having to miss a prime Snapchat moment again, you also cannot deny that these are expensive.

They will set you back around €170, and there’s also the fact that the battery pack retails separately for roughly €40. Also, currently the chargers are only compatible with iPhones, sorry Android users.

So close, yet just not quite the perfect solution.

Many, many people over the years have spent lots of good money to get rid of jowls – and it doesn’t sound as if that will be stopping any time soon…

A report by The Telegraph has said that something known as "tech-neck" is beginning to increase in people between the ages of 18-39 due to our overuse of smartphones, with experts saying we look down at our phones up to 150 times a DAY! Scary.

So, what is "tech-neck"? Well, apparently it’s a crease that develops on between our chin and neck – in other words, jowls.

Dr Christopher Rowland-Payne of The London Clinic explained the increase of tech-neck, saying: “The problem with wrinkles and sagging of the jowls and neck used to begin in late middle age but, in the last 10 years, because of tech-neck, it has become a problem for a generation of younger women.”

Hmm, what about the men?! Surely they use their phones just as much AND have necks?!

Well, this might answer that! The research was commissioned by Yves St Laurent to coincide with the release of their new Forever Youth Liberator Y-Shape crème specially designed to target the ‘Y-area’ of the lower face, throat and décolletage.

We reckon this news is enough to put us off stalking that girl that was in our primary school and is now a famous make-up artist in Hollywood for another while…

We all know that feeling too well – it's gone. Your precious, overused phone is GONE! Now no one will know where you are, you have no Google maps to find out where to go and your life as you know it is over. Here's the emotional cycle of losing your phone:

1. Panic
You’ve patted down your pockets and realised you don’t feel your phone – it's not there!

2. Anxious
You slowly empty the contents of your pockets and bag, hoping it's secretly hidden in there…

3. Suspicious
You’re convinced you’ve been robbed. It’s better than facing the fact that you were stupid enough to lose it! Now everyone becomes a suspect.

4. Frantic
You run desperately back to the last place you had it and hope that it’s still there.

5. Hysteria
When your phone is not where you thought you left it!

6. Horrified
When you think of how you’ve also lost all your messages/pictures/phone numbers.

7.  Increased hysteria
You’re starting to feel like you’re on an episode of Without A Trace.

Grey's Anatomy

8. Despair
As you continuously call the phone hoping someone will answer.

9. Embarrassed
As you ask anyone within a ten mile radius have they seen your phone.

10. Determined
You try your best to turn into a detective and log onto 'Find my iPhone', full of hope and determination, before you realise it’s crap and does not work unless your lost phone is connected to WiFi…

So this can eventually end one of two ways:

Immense Pleasure
As, thankfully, someone belonging to the rare kind of humanity found it and handed it in somewhere, and you promise to love and care for your phone like never before and never let it out of your sight again.

Grief- stricken
As the reality sets in and you have to come to terms with the fact you’re not getting your phone back, and even worse, someone else got a free phone from your stupidity. So you are forced to go home and use an old Nokia from the stone age and hope Santa is generous this year.

We all have those messages on our phone that for whatever reason when we’re clearing our inboxes they manage to make the cut.

Here’s a list of 5 of the most common messages girls keep on their phones, no matter what!

1. Funny Messages From Your Bestfriend
Those weird conversations with your best friend that no one else would understand that just make you laugh every time you read back over them..

2. Messages That May Be Needed In The Future
These messages may be needed in the future as proof when someone denies saying something, you can whip out those messages as proof. Girls remember everything.

3. Cute Message From Your Granny
The fact she managed to send one successfully without sending it to the milkman by mistake is reason enough to keep it. She probably was wishing you good luck in your exams and telling you she lit a candle. It's also probably all in capital letters because she doesn’t know how to turn them off. She also signs her initials at the end – cute!

4. Messages From The Guy You Like
The sweet message from that one time 2 months ago when he wasn’t acting like a complete arse.

5. Messages For Cheaplist/Guestlist For Your Favourite Nightclub
Who would be bothered signing up and sending invites to get guestlist to your favourite club every week when instead you could just keep the same message to show at the door every week

Forget the bucket of water over the door or hiding in closets, the best prank of all has been identified.

The genius of Swedish man, Manfred Hanberg, has finally been recognised through his Vine account.

Manfred is sitting down quietly with his friend who is playing a video game when he begins to mimic the sound your phone makes when you get a message from any of the twelve hundred communication apps you have, leaving his friend very confused.

After falling for it, frankly, far too many times, he eventually gets sick of Manfred's playacting and shouts “Va fan!” which, translated to English means: "What the hell!”

What the hell, Manfred?

Are you one of the 1,000,000,000 people who have the Facebook Messenger app on their phone?

You are also probably one of the 90% of people who don’t read the Terms and Conditions before accepting.

If so you might be in for a shock.

Facebook is not known for its defence of privacy at the best of times, but when one man actually stopped to read the terms and conditions for the messaging app he was left speechless.

When you install Facebook Messenger you not only give it access to all your personal details, but it can record you using the camera and microphone, at any time, without asking.

Using the app, Facebook can take and send on any information about you it wants, and can even call and text people with your phone without you knowing about it. And it’s you who is charged for the privilege.

Scary.

If you decide to keep this app, keep a close watch for any unexplained charges. Your phone could be living a life of its own.

The most worrying Terms and Conditions include:

– Allows the app to call phone numbers without your intervention. This may result in unexpected charges or calls. Malicious apps may cost you money by making calls without your confirmation.

– Allows the app to send SMS messages. This may result in unexpected charges. Malicious apps may cost you money by sending messages without your confirmation.

– Allows the app to record audio with microphone. This permission allows the app to record audio at any time without your confirmation

– Allows the app to take pictures and videos with the camera. This permission allows the app to use the camera at any time without your confirmation.

– Allows the app to read your phone's call log, including data about incoming and outgoing calls. This permission allows apps to save your call log data, and malicious apps may share call log data without your knowledge.

– Allows the app to read data about your contacts stored on your phone, including the frequency with which you've called, emailed, or communicated in other ways with specific individuals.

– Allows the app to read personal profile information stored on your device, such as your name and contact information. This means the app can identify you and may send your profile information to others.

– Allows the app to access the phone features of the device. This permission allows the app to determine the phone number and device IDs, whether a call is active, and the remote number connected by a call.

Allows the app to get a list of accounts known by the phone. This may include any accounts created by applications you have installed.

This is unbelievable, but yet so believable at the same time…

Kim Kardashian has admitted that she took 1200 selfies in one day.

Yes – one thousand two hundred selfies.

Kim made the admission to her mum, Kris, whilst on holiday in Thailand when she asked: “How many selfies are you gonna do in one day, you’re like obsessed?”

When Kim admitted the (crazy) amount, her mum simply replied: “This is remarkable.”

Yes, that’s certainly one word for it.

Why all of the selfies though? A selfie book for Kanye, duh.

Guys are fickle, strange creatures. Sometimes they come on too strong, and when you do, they run a mile. It makes no sense.

Here are 8 realistic reasons that guy hasn’t called you back.

1. You’re coming on too strong
There is absolutely nothing wrong with going for what you want with gusto. However, play it a little hard to get and make HIM do the chasing. Much more fun.

too strong

2. He doesn’t want to give a false impression
Although it’s a little childish, some guys won’t be texting back because they don’t want to give you the wrong impression that they want things to go any further. They might write back now and again to be polite, but if they aren’t replying as frequently as they should be then it might be time to move on.

uncomfortable

3. Too many questions
Much like coming on too strong, asking too many questions can also scare a guy off. Guys are pretty simple creatures and can usually only deal with one thing at a time. So if lots of questions are coming in at once, especially if you’ve only recently met, chances are he’ll eventually just give up trying to answer them all and end up just not answering any.

too many questions

4. He’s trying to play it cool
From the girl’s point of view, this looks pretty similar to when he doesn’t want to give you a false impression, so again the best way to get rid of any confusion is to just ask him. The only reason he’s doing this is to not come on too strong to you, which means that he likes you. So if you do ask him what the situation is, he’ll be honest and say that he is interested in you.

play it cool

5. It’s too late at night
It may be something as simple as he is wrecked and just can’t fathom a text conversation right now. Don’t be offended.

emotional

6. You’re being too needy
If you’ve only recently met the guy, but you’ve already started getting emotional in your texts with him, he’s going to be turned off very quickly. Guys like to be needed and to look after girls, but not if they’ve only known them for a couple of weeks.

booty call

7. A genuine reason
Sometimes there actually is a genuine reason, like he doesn’t have any texts or data left to reply to you, or he’s at a football match or he’s with his friends. But the key thing to remember about this situation, even though you don’t know if it is a genuine reason, is to  be patient. He will reply to you eventually when he does get a chance, and will apologise for the delay (if he’s a decent guy), so any extra texts you send can only harm your situation.

my-bad

8. He’s just not that into you
This is the biggest fear when he’s not texting you back, especially if you really like him. But unfortunately this is the case sometimes, and it’s just important to remember to not get desperate, because you’re never going to change his mind like that, and to just try and move on.

Looks like there may be trouble ahead for Game of Thrones star, Kit Harington.

The actor is in panic mode after his phone was stolen from a table in a bar in London, just recently.

Kit is very worried that his photos may be leaked to the internet and that his personal information may be used.

He spoke of his frustration, saying: “Apple have assured me they’ve locked it but I’m not so sure … when you end up seeing all my personal photos on the internet, you’ll know why. It also had all my contacts’ details in there so there’s a lot at stake.”

We bet Kit, who plays Jon Snow on the hit HBO show has lots of desirable contacts in his phone – it looks like they may be changing their numbers too!
