Things took a turn for the crippling awkward when Lea Michele was snubbed on the red carpet by veteran actress, Jessica Lange.

The Glee actress was attending the premiere of American Horror Story Freak Show and was working her stuff for the cameras when she spotted Jessica and tried to say hi.

Unfortunately, Jessica wasn’t feeling too friendly and breezed right passed her, leaving poor Lea to do that awkward thing you do when you wave to someone and they didn’t see you.

Or at least they pretend they didn’t see you…

On another note how amazing is Lea's dress?! Damn, that girl can pull a pose!

1. Lecturers singling you out
It’s the reason we skip class. The ultimate fear of being singled out in a 200 seat lecture hall. Most days you might get away with it, but of course, on this particular day you’ve spent the whole hour daydreaming about what outfit you’re going to wear tonight.

2. Getting 'buddied'
It can happen anywhere. In a lecture, on a bus or at the cinema. You run into that friend of a friend that you met once at a party and you got along so well that you feel obliged to say ‘Hello’. But it doesn’t stop there. It slowly gets more and more awkward as the conversation dwindles and eventually you both stand there rocking back and forth on your feet until one of you comments on the weather.

3. One night man
You thought you were rid of him when he finally stumbled out of your house at 11 O’clock looking like Zach Galifianakis. Now here you both are, face to face in the hallway. Eyes down, feet forward, godspeed!

4.  Saying something stupid like 'I love you'
We’ve all been there, haven’t we. Whether we’ve asked someone when they’re due and they end up not being pregnant or we drunkenly tell Johnny from down the road with that he’s a “sexy stud muffin”, we’ve all let our big mouths make us look like idiots.

5. Your back-stabbing best friend
You’ve spent the last three months sweet talking Peter from the rugby team and you’re finally ready to pounce. You set your wing woman in to cement the process and 5 minutes later, her and Peter stumble out of the bathroom together, her looking like The Joker. Now, she’s your friend so you’re obviously not going to fall out with her over some lad. But still…

6. Meeting an ex's parents
Awwwwkkwwwaaarrd. Is there anything worse? Firstly, they greet you with a smile and you’re all “Hi, haven’t seen you in a long time” and then the reality sets in that you broke her sons heart and then you realise her smile is actually a smirk and she wants to stab you in the throat.

7. Short changing the taxi driver
You know you don’t have enough money to pay him, but you’re obviously not going to walk home so you jump in and give him your best “I’m a poor student” story hoping that he might leave you off the 50c. It’s when you get to your front door and you have to drop the money and run that things take a turn for the Aca-aca-awkward.

8. Bumping into the housemates
Tip. Toe. Tip. Toe. You’re trying to get out of this house ASAP before a soul finds out that you stayed here last night. You’ve already managed to worm your way out from underneath the arm of the beast you let take you home and you can see your escape route right ahead. The door stands 5 feet away and you’re almost home free. Until some pain in the a** walks out of their bedroom and you’re both standing there, in the ultimate awkwardness with a stale stench of “FML” off you.

9. Confessions
It’s inevitable really. After 8 months of living with the same handful of people, there’s always one that falls in love. Be prepared for that moment when a housemate sits you down and confesses that “Your beauty knows no bounds. Thou art as glorious as a summers day”. Time for a Daft.ie search.

This may be officially the most awkward proposal of all time!

First of all…it’s in a department store. What was he thinking?!

Second, she says no. And not even because it’s in a department store.

While we’re debating the authenticity of the video it still provided us with some much-loved cringe moments.

If it's real it may almost beat THAT Rose Of Tralee proposal:

Actually, no. That's still the most awkward moment in TV history.

If you’re an awkward individual you’re definitely not the most graceful person out there, that’s for sure. You try and act cool and calm, but then you over think things and end up looking like a foolYou just weren’t born with the cool gene and its seems like everything you do has a hint of awkwardness to it. Here are the things that awkward people find it hard to do:

1. Greeting someone
Yeah, you find even the basics painfully hard to do, it’s even worse when you’re not sure to hug them or just give them a handshake and a pat on the back. This dilemma always seems to plague you because you can never quite get it right.

2. Closing statements when you’re on the phone
You seem to be fine when you’re  actually on the phone, but there is something about saying goodbye that you just don’t get. You’re never quite sure when to end the conversation, so when they say goodbye you have no clue what to say and end up saying something ridiculous

3. Trying to get by someone
There is nothing that strikes fear into your heart more than when you are walking down the street and you both walk into each other. You fail to anticipate their movements and keep going the same way they do. Take some lessons from these two on how to deal with this awkward situation.

31 Painfully Awkward Moments That Make You Want To Crawl Into A Hole

4. Laughing
You can’t  seem to control yourself when you see something funny. It’s not exactly how you laugh it’s the fact that everyone can hear you when you bust out laughing.

5. Smalltalk
It’s definitely not your strong suit that’s for sure, you don’t really get it and you literally can’t carry a conversation. You definitely aren’t the one who initiates the conversation.

6. Comforting someone
If small talk isn’t your forte then comforting someone is your  worst nightmare. You just don’t know how to react to someone who is in need and you do the least amount possible to comfort them.

7. Joining in on a conversation
So you’re kind of on the fringes of a conversation and are trying yo get involved. You say the most random thing ever that you think is related to the conversation…awkward.

8. Giving compliments
You don’t do it that often, but when you do you really have no clue how to do it. If you say it to someone you like, they will see you in a completely different light and not in a good way.

9. Pretending you weren’t looking
You tend to make it really obvious when you were looking at someone and you try to pretend that you weren’t. You look quickly and have no clue what to do. The person obviously knows you were and if you actually gave them a smile or a wave it would be less awkward.

10. Meeting a friend of a friend
You have no problem meeting up with your friend, but when they say that some of their friends that you’ve never met are going to be there you just can’t handle it. You don’t know what to say and you always give a terrible first impression.

11. Flirting
The less said about your flirting the better, it’s basically non existent and you shouldn’t try so hard. You’re not really the flirting type so it’s best that you just keep things simple and don’t try anything eleaborate.

12. Awkward Silences
You think of something to say, but then think it’s stupid, so you just sit there in silence. It doesn’t really bother the person you’re talking to, but for you there is nothing you hate more than awkward silences.

13. Lying
You’re just a terrible liar, end of, everyone sees right through you when you’re lying. You might as well not even try because at this stage, it’s kind of embarrassing. It’s that fact that you’re looking down when you say it and how your voice gets quieter the longer you speak.

14. Falling over in public
It’s any awkward person’s worst nightmare, and you couldn’t possibly think of anything worse to happen to you. It’s not so much the falling over, it’s the fact that someone could have actually seen you doing it. Someone people get up like nothing happened, but you get extremely paranoid about it.

It’s one of those moments that makes you go “Eeeek” when you spot your ex-boyfriend in the same place as you.

For us, it’s easy enough to avoid them, just use people as shields and if they come towards you, run to the bathroom.

But if you’re Rihanna, it’s a little harder because you’re sitting courtside (obviously) and your ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown is playing the charity basketball match…

Did nobody warn her or is this pre-meditated? And where is Karrueche?

Like we said, awkward.

Thankfully, Rihanna being, well, Rihanna, nothing phases her and she even looks a little mischievous we think…what could she be up to?

It was only two days ago that Chris declared his love for his current girlfriend, even saying he wanted her baby.

Meanwhile, RiRi is said to be back with her ex, Drake, after she was seen dancing at his concert recently.

Something tell us this saga is far from over.

There is nothing in the world more horrifically embarrassing than being walked in on by your boyfriend’s parents while getting it on. Well… nothing in the world except the “Sorry we caught you dry-humping” cake that follows.

These two cringing parents obviously felt a sincere apology was the way to go to smooth things over after finding their son and his girlfriend grinding in the living room.

Rather than write a letter or make a call, Reddit user One Skinny Mexican said his parents baked a cake with the concise message “Sorry we caught you dry-humping our son — we still love you!”

“The way my mother caught me was because we have security cameras set up in our house, monitoring certain rooms,” said the Reddit user. “We can pull up the views at any time… All my mom could see when she looked at the camera was my girlfriend moving back and forth.”

Wow.

Apparently the poor lad’s mum “just thought it would be funny” to bake the cake. We wonder if his girlfriend thought it was quite so hilarious!

Guys are simple beings really, there are things that really, really scare them. We ladies have a lot to thank for that, because most of them are our fault. #sorrynotsorry

1. Girls Crying
The single most awkward situation a guy can find himself in. Thoughts go flying through his head: Do I hug her? Do I ask her about it? Do I pat her on the head and say “there, there” over and over again?

 2. Periods
They just don’t want to hear about it. Which, frankly, is offensive.

 3. Big Boobs
They know the trouble they’ll be in if they look down and it takes all their concentration not to.

4. Women In General
The single biggest lie that men tell each other is how good they are with women.

5. Changing Rooms At The Gym
This one doesn’t involve the ladies, but it does involve being naked in front of other guys.

6. Being Asked Directions To Somewhere You Don’t Know
Whenever this happens, the first thing you should do is apologise and explain that you don’t know where that is. However, this rarely happens, and they try to be helpful. By the time they’ve realised that they actually can’t be any help, it’s too late and they just leave them more confused than they were before.

7. When Someone Stands Next To You At The Urinals
Men don’t like this. Especially if there are a lot of other free urinals around, apparently.

8. Another Guy Talking About Something Emotional
They aren’t like us…

9. Girls Asking About Feelings And Emotions And Stuff
Guys aren’t the emotionless robots that we’re often made out to be, but most of the time their emotions are pretty normal, and the most complicated thing they’re thinking about is what’s for dinner. But girls aren’t really ever satisfied with this response, and decide to dig deeper expecting to find another layer. Cue the awkwardness.

10. Tripping Over When You’re On Your Own
To be fair, this one is the worst for everyone.

11. When You Accidentally Touch Hands With Someone In The Street
What’s the big deal? Keep on walking, fellas.

12. Relations Asking About Your New Girlfriend
Girls don’t mind this question, we just answer normally. Guys on the other hand, get all hot and bothered.

Just when we thought things couldn’t get any awkward over at RTE, they do this…

This Friday’s Late Late Show is called Reach for the Stars and will feature a group of Irish personalities going up against each other in a singing challenge.

However, it’s all for a good cause as it is in aid of charity so it’s set to be an entertaining night no doubt!

The Irish personalities involved in the show include Eileen Whelan, Emma O’Driscoll and Cathy Kelly.

KITT, the car from retro TV show Knight Rider finishes off the guest list in a random way.

We wonder will he be partaking in the competition?!

Famous pianist Lang Lang will also star in the show this Friday.

The Late Late Show: Reach for the Stars will be on RTE One this Friday night at 9.30pm.

Click TV caught this terribly awkward interview on camera. Russell Crowe visited Dublin for the premiere of Noah last Saturday and this Irish reporter did not do her research it seems. After a quick put down from Russell she continues on down the wrong line of questioning. Way to warm him up!

Russell later took to Twitter calling her a “plonker”.

With so many celebrities around it is quite easy to get mixed up; however, if you are an entertainment reporter it is your job to know who’s who.

Unfortunately, KTLA’s Sam Rubin made this fatal error when he mixed up Samuel L. Jackson with Laurence Fishbourne and it made for some very awkward listening…
