Today marks the one year anniversary since the world became a much more, erm, interesting place – since Donald Trump became President of the United States.

The business mogul has officially spent 365 days in the White House, but in actuality, many of those days were spent else where.

According to reports, Donald Trump has spend 91 days of the last year on the golf course.

While on the campaign trail, Trump told his potential voters: ‘I’m going to be working for you. I’m not going to have time to go play golf.’

Clearly, he’s not that overworked.

According to trumpgolfcount.com, Trump spends the majority of his golf trips shmoozing with athletes and business execs.

The website also details that the cost of transporting the POTUS on these golf trips has amounted to over 22 million dollars.

Here’s to a 2018 full of more golf instead of nuclear warfare.

In Ireland everyday, we consume '14 million assorted meals, 9 million snacks, 1.3 million packets of crisps, 1.6 million apples, and 15 million cups of tea every single day.'

RTÉ's latest documentary is here to reveal exactly where this food comes from, how it is produced, and how the process goes.

One Day – How Ireland Eats is an hour long documentary coming to RTÉ One on Monday.

The documentary will portray the work of the real people who provide the Irish consumers with everything from potatoes and bread to meat.

The growers, suppliers, buyers, caterers and chefs who create the Irish food chain will all be in attendance in the informative and probably hunger-inducing doc.

As well as looking at the Irish diet now, the documentary will also reveal how the diet has changed over the past half a century.

If you're interested in learning everything there is to know about how we eat, you may want to tune in to RTE ONe on Monday at 9.35pm.

Make sure you have the snacks ready (seeing as we spend €20 million on them everyday).

Back in the day, NBA All-Star Joel Embiid decided to chance his arm and ask the icon that is Rihanna out on a date via Twitter

However, at the time Embiid did not have his All-Star title, a fact Riri took issue with.

'Come back to me when you’re an All-Star,' she responded, in a pretty sassy rejection.

Now, the 7'2 basketball player has achieved All-Star status, and after his first All-Star game, he was asked by a reporter if he would be trying his luck with the pop songstress once again.

'She denied me back then, so why go with her again?' replied Embiid.

'So I have to pass that and move on to the next one.'

Yikes, talk about holding on to a grudge.

However, it is true that if Riri was interested, she should have given him a chance during his pre-All Star days, but we're sure she isn't lacking in potential dates to be honest.

If you're into online dating,y ou probably know the feeling of nervousness before a Tinder or Internet date well.

There's the contemplation of what the person will be like, and most importantly, are they a secret creep or not?

Well, one dating app is putting the mystery of online dating to bed, with a rating system where you can see what other people thought of your potential date.

Do I Date hopes to establish a an honest dating experience giving hopeful romantics the chance to rate their dates out of five.

The app also allows past dates to comment and give feedback on how they found their dates company, and why they liked or disliked them.

You can search for potential dates based on ratings, and review the feedback of others.

Plugged as 'a platform to discover more about the person you plan to go out with tonight,' the app is taking some of the mystery out of meeting strangers.

However, with the dangers of online dating, it's definitely a good idea to have a little background on the person you're about to meet for the first time.

Our smartphones are officially ingrained in our lives – from checking the bus times to creeping on Insta, our phones invade our head space more than ever.

There is major merit in unplugging for a while, whether that's a complete social media sabbatical or simply minimising your scrolling to your commute.

If you feel like you spend way too muh time looking at your screen and not at the world around you, then we have an app recommendation that could help.

Moment is a lifestyle app that monitors your screen time.

Every 24 hour period, it counts how many minutes or hours are spent on your smart phone, and the results can some days be quite shocking.

It also counts how many times you unlock your home screen, and you can set a personal limit as to how much time you want to spend on your phone each day.

It also tells you what percentage of your life is spent on your phone, and it's frankly quite terrifying.

'As a tiny experiment, I asked people to guess what their daily usage was and they were almost always 50% too low,' the app’s creator, Kevin Holesh told Tech Crunch.

'The daily limits have helped people set a goal for how much they’re on their phone.'

'My main goal with Moment was make me aware of how many minutes I’m burning on my phone each day, and it’s helped my testers do that, too.'

You can also use the app to see what other apps you use the most, and how much time is spent on them.

The family option lets parents wee how much time their kids spend on their phones, or, if you have pledged to minimise your screen time with a pal, you could use this option to hold each other accountable for how much time you each spend on Snapchat.

Social media popularity has become a career path for many men and women, and Ireland has a particularly healthy influencer industry, with hundreds of individuals holding our online attention.

According to Influencer Marketing Hub, an influencer is defined as 'an individual who has the power to affect purchase decisions of others because of his/her authority, knowledge, position or relationship with his/her audience.'

Recently, there has been serious backlash against the influencer industry from their audiences, after a number of forums and pages came to light which exposed heavy photoshopping, misleading sponsored posts and rigged competitions.

Many forums and commenters pointed out that they feed it is fraudulent for an influencer to sell a product such as makeup and photoshop the results they achieve using said product.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission has now said it is reviewing these complaints for the sake of consumer protection at a European level, according to RTE.

The Consumer Protection Act 2007 forbids the promotion of false or misleading information to sway sakes of a service or product.

However, there is currently no specific legislation to govern the role of social media influencers in this area.

The Advertising Standards Authority for Ireland has said that they have seen a signifiant increase in complaints about social media influencers in the past 24 months.

'If you are advertising a slimming product and if you take a before and after photograph and if you alter the after photograph and make yourself look thinner, well then you are implying that the product will achieve that result and that’s likely to mislead,' ASAI Chief Executive Orla Twomey told RTE.
