The Me Too movement has encouraged women to come forward and speak about their experiences of sexual assault and harassment.

The movement has helped women open up and offered a huge network of support to victims.

Laura Whitmore has opened up about her own experience in a moving piece for Hot Press.

Speaking to the mag, the presenter revealed that she was sexually assaulted in a London nightclub last year.

She explained that she has wanted to share her story for quite some time, but was terrified of opening up about it.

She wrote: 'I’ve been scared. I feel ashamed to say I was scared but I was. I still am. Scared of what people might say, drawing attention to things that upset me, adding fuel to the fire.'

Despite her fears, Laura knew sharing her story would show other women that they are not alone.

'Last year I was in a club with my friends and I could feel a hand on the back of my leg. Initially, I thought it was my boyfriend messing or a mate about to pinch my bottom,' she explained.

However, the host realised that it was a complete stranger.

'The hand went under my skirt, between my legs, and firmly touched me. As I turned, I saw it was a guy who I did not know. He was laughing.'

Laura quickly pushed the man away, but she was overwhelmed with the shock of what just happened.

'I couldn’t recognise his face under the strobing lights and, then, he was gone. I was a bit tipsy and I was wearing a short skirt. Did I deserve that to happen?'

'I told the manager but what could I do? What was the point?'

The Survival of the Fittest presenter added that no woman deserves to be treated so poorly, saying: 'No one has the right to do that to anyone. My body. My property.'

A post shared by thewhitmore (@thewhitmore) on

The broadcaster hopes her story will encourage women to speak out about incidents like hers.

'We are not meat. We are beautiful, complex creatures. We should not have to feel like we are constantly on guard.'

'I've always found it easier to speak up for others – but I now also acknowledge the importance of speaking up for myself,' she added.

Laura has donated her fee for her Hot Press article to the Rape Crisis Centre.

It's official – millennials are the most stressed-out generation.

A study commissioned by the American Psychological Association found that millennials are the most stressed of all demographics, from Gen Z to Baby Boomers.

From the housing crisis to work crisis to the fight for body autonomy, it's no wonder we're all feeling the pressure.

Nearly 40 percent of Millennials said their stress had increased last year, with most rating their stress as a 5.4 on a scale of 1-10.

While 5.4 might not seem that high, over half of all millennials said that their stress levels had caused them to lose sleep in the last month alone.

Sleep is a signifiant factor when it comes to setting you up for a productive day, leading to a negative cycle of further stress and sleep loss.

The main cause of our stress? Why, our careers of course.

According to the study, 76pc of people named work as a signifiant stress trigger for them.

Only 39pc of older people found work as stressful.

With the changes in workplace pace and environment happening on the regular, unemployment levels and rising rent costs despite no rise in wage expectations, it's no wonder some of us are on edge when it comes to work.

Spending Christmas at Buckingham Palace seems like a dream. We can’t even begin to imagine how elaborate and stunning the Queen’s decorations are. We’re sure the Royal Family even have a Christmas tree taller than our own homes.

The festive season may be months away, but with this cold, dreary weather, you’d think it was still wintertime.

During filming for an ITV documentary, Her Majesty told Sir David Attenborough about how her great-grandchildren help out at Christmas time.

Every family will understand that decorating the tree can be like mission impossible, especially when you’ve got mischievous kids in the family.

Senior castle attendant, Mr Neil Turner admitted that he has hastily decorated the tree after the young royals knocked the decorations off, with the Queen saying, "Yes, that is always the problem, the children love knocking those [decorations] off.”

The Queen said, “My great-grandchildren enjoy themselves. The great thing is to make them decorate it and they're a bit more careful. It always looks jolly.”

When it comes to presents, The Queen admitted that she is hard to buy for. We can’t imagine handing over a pair of slippers from Penneys to Her Majesty on Christmas Day.

The Queen and Sir David Attenborough took a stroll through Buckingham Palace’s garden as part of the documentary. “I imagine you must be given quite a lot of roses,” the broadcaster said to the 91-year-old monarch.

To which she replied, “'I've been quite difficult to give presents to.” She went on to explain that her family have since decided to give her one type of gift from now on.

Yesterday, the wonderful Paris Hilton tweeted 'Should The Simple Life return?' and I nearly passed out with the excitement.

The reality show that made my early teenage years, The Simple Life was honestly one of the best things on TV in the naughties.

And while I'm not convinced it will ever return, I decided to take a trip down memory lane, and enjoy some of Paris and Nicole's best bits.

That's hot…

1. That time the girlos worked in a funeral home.

2. That time Paris mopped the floor using a SEGWAY.

3. When they were in charge of a restaurant's signage.

4. When Nicole was an excellent role mode.

5. When Paris cooked bacon with an iron (genius).

6. Real talk, though.

7. Ordering ice cream like a boss…

8. The environment is very important to Paris.

9. Important discoveries were made in every episode.

10. When absolutely everything was 'hot'.

 11. When they made a sly dig at Kim Kardashian.

12. When Nicole inspired women everywhere.

 13. More excellent advice.

14. A helping hand for her good friend.

The Simple Life

 15. Last but not least, that time Nicole put her whole arm up a cow's arse.

(And then threw the poop-covered glove at Paris.)

Darkness, Mystery, Sex, Drugs and Sorrow – these are all words that can be used to define the sound of Abel Tesfaye at the beginning of his music career.

His music captured the highs and lows of drug use as well as his strong feelings towards women and sex. Since then, The Weeknd has elevated his music further by becoming one of the biggest pop artists on the scene, combining pop and R&B to create two double platinum albums – Michael Jackson inspired album, Beauty Behind the Madness (2015) and upbeat Starboy (2016) featuring the likes of Daft Punk, Lana Del Ray and Kendrick Lamar.

Yet, he has still managed to keep the same meaning to his music that we all know and love him for but has revamped it into the form of mainstream pop music.

A post shared by The Weeknd (@theweeknd) on

On March 30, 2018, The Weeknd surprised his fans by released the 6-track album, My Dear Melancholy,.

Listeners seemed to be pleasantly surprised that Abel returned to his roots with the mysterious, sorrowful and druggie tracks he was first known for.

The EP expresses the suffering of loss. It captures his own heartbreak, desperation and reflection. The 21-minute album is short but also long enough to not depress or bore you, as it is, essentially, a break up album.

However, it is a break up album done right with his amazing vocals and hypnotising sound that again reminds us of his earlier work. In the album, he gets extremely personal by analysing his broken relationships and by exposing all of his feelings out there through hard-hitting lyrics.

A post shared by Selena Is My Drug (@seladdictixon) on

Being a celebrity means being exposed to the public eye on a constant basis, and for Abel this meant that his relationships were all out in the open and were often kept tabs on by paparazzi, magazines and such.

Not long before My Dear Melancholy, was released, The Weeknd and former girlfriend, Selena Gomez, had split up. They dated for the majority of 2017 and made their public debut at the Met Gala.

They were both very open about their relationship, posting photos on each other’s Instagram, but it all came crashing down when Gomez was seen on a date with her ex, Justin Bieber. On the other hand, Tesfaye was spotted leaving Bella Hadid’s apartment just days after and at this point, Tesfaye and Gomez had broken things off.

After listening to the new album, it is safe to say that he was both heartbroken and bitter when composing the songs.

The EP is so specific to these certain events, that it is so unique when compared to the rest of his work. It was almost too personal and honest, making it difficult to listen to.

A post shared by Selena Is My Drug(@seladdictixon) on

The album’s opening line makes sure that we know that the very first song, Call Out My Name is about Gomez: 'We found each other/ I helped you out of a broken place/ You gave me comfort/ But falling for you was my mistake.'

The couple began their relationship shortly after Selena was out of rehab for Lupus, as well as anxiety and depression, which she has very openly advocated. They fell for each other when she needed somebody most and he was there to help. Unfortunately, it is obvious through his lyrics that he regrets ever falling for her.

'I want you to stay / But I know you don’t want me / Girl, why can’t you wait? / Why can’t you wait till I fall out of love?' The hard-hitting lyrics perfectly capture the feeling of losing somebody you love and the tragedy of heartbreak.

Personally, this line stuck out to me the most in this album, as well as: 'Guess I was just another pit stop / Until you made up your mind / You wasted my time.' Another extremely powerful lyric in the song was: 'I almost cut a piece of myself for your life.' This lyric suggests Tesfaye was willing to give up one of his kidneys for Selena, to save her life. However, he did not and her friend, Francia Raisa, did instead.

A post shared by The Weeknd (@abelxo_xoxo) on

Wasted Times is full of bitterness as he removes the attention off Gomez and instead shines light on his previous partner, Bella Hadid. Tesfaye and Hadid dated for almost two years and ended in November 2016. In this song, he reminisces about their relationship.

'Wasted times I spent with someone else / She wasn’t even half of you' and 'I hope you know this dick is still an option / You were equestrian, so ride it like a champion' is a clear indicator that he has his eyes set on Hadid again and is wasting no time on articulacy.

Hadid planned on competing in the Winter 2016 Olympics for equestrian events and still partakes in the activity today, therefore it is quite evident that he is speaking about the model.

Try Me is another track about the model, as he continues to express wanting her back.

'Once you put your pride aside / You can notify me, -fy me / You’re the best I ever had.' Although, there is some confusion towards the end of the song when he sings, 'The way I kissed your scars / The way I fixed your heart, oh / Don’t you miss me babe?' which indicates that he is singing about Gomez, and her scars she may have developed after her kidney transplant.

The EP is just a mix of feelings towards both women, all slathered into 6 songs and can sometimes be quite difficult to fully understand.

A post shared by (@bellahadid) on

I Was Never There and Hurt You are a look into Tesfaye’s general view and dissatisfaction with relationships. He is back to his old ways, his drug and sex-filled life: 'Girl, I’ll come to put myself between your legs / Not between your heart' and 'His happiness is never real / Mindless sex is how he feels' are just two lines from these songs which completely represent his new mindset after the break-ups.

In Privilege he speaks about wanting to end things with Gomez on a good note, but points at self-destructive behaviour to take the pain away: 'But I'ma drink the pain away, I'll be back to my old ways / And I got two red pills to take the blues away, oh.'

Whether you loved the 21-minute heartbreak album or hated it, it is undeniably personal which makes is a unique project for The Weeknd.

Artists have the power to use music to express themselves and their emotions, so if you have ever been through a messy break up or had your heart broken by somebody you loved, it is easy to relate to the album.

Tesfaye’s relationships were known and followed by the public, which made the wonderful break-up album of public interest and therefore clearly explains the millions of views on YouTube and the 29 million streams on Spotify in only the first 24 hours after it was released.

The mini-album is short but nonetheless very powerful, and overall represents the return of the old Abel that earned him his fame, and I think this is what’s got everybody hyped.

There are all sorts of reasons why we may admire a person – their talent, poise, sense of humour, beauty, or compassion, for starters.

With this in mind, it's fascinating to see which people we as the public most look up to. Will they be an actor, a politician, a beloved humanitarian?

Well, YouGov has all the answers! The site interviewed over 37,000 people from 35 different countries to figure out which people are most admired on Earth.

They calculate the results by first asking respondents if they admire the public figure at all, and then whether that particular figure is the one the respondent admires the most.

Microsoft founder Bill Gates topped the list for most admired men, which he's done ever since the YouGov survey first started.

Angelina Jolie has set herself apart as the most admired woman. She's achieved this in each of the last three surveys, ever since men and women were separated into different categories back in 2015.

1. Bill Gates 1. Angelina Jolie
2. Barack Obama 2. Michelle Obama

14 of the most admired women are actresses, singers or TV presenters. However, some of these figures from the entertainment industry are also renowned for their philanthropic work.

The men's category, on the other hand, is primarily filled with figures from the worlds of sport, politics, and business.

Barack Obama is in the second spot for the most admired man, just like last year, and Michelle Obama shot up three positions to be the second most admired woman in the world.

As for the current US president, Donald Trump has surprisingly risen one spot since the last survey, despite his alleged affair with Stormy Daniels and other scandals that have plagued his time in the White House.

Are you surprised by any of these rankings? Who is the public figure that you most admire?

The mum-of-three has accused her ex-husband in the past of alleged physical and emotional abuse.

"I have kept silent for a decade, but after a very public court case, I want to set the record straight," Mel B explained.

As a mum to daughters Phoenix Chi Gulzar (19), Angel Iris Murphy Brown (11), and Madison Brown Belafonte (6), Melanie wants to educate and empower her girls.

According to Bookseller, Brutally Honest will be published in November of this year.

Do you think you'll pick up a copy of her book when it comes out?

While mental health issues are being discussed more and more often in public forums, stigma still remains that can lead people to feel alone when they most need help.

Pop icon Mariah Carey is certainly familiar with this feeling of isolation.

She takes medication and goes to therapy for bipolar II disorder, which involves it involves at least one episode of major depression and at least one episode of hypomania (less severe than a full manic episode, but still disrupts sleep and involves hyperactivity).

However, she hasn't always felt comfortable with her diagnosis.

When she first discovered she was bipolar back in 2001, “I didn’t want to believe it,” Mariah told People.

Thankfully, the Grammy Award-winner is now receiving the treatment she needs after what she has deemed 'the hardest couple of years I’ve been through'.

A post shared by Mariah Carey (@mariahcarey) on

“Until recently I lived in denial and isolation and in constant fear someone would expose me. It was too heavy a burden to carry and I simply couldn’t do that anymore," the mum admitted.

"I sought and received treatment, I put positive people around me and I got back to doing what I love — writing songs and making music.”

The singer says that between therapy and medication, she's feeling like she has found balance in her life.

“I’m actually taking medication that seems to be pretty good. It’s not making me feel too tired or sluggish or anything like that. Finding the proper balance is what is most important,” Mariah said.

A post shared by Mariah Carey (@mariahcarey) on

The singer explained that at first, she thought she had a severe sleep disorder.

“But it wasn’t normal insomnia and I wasn’t lying awake counting sheep," the vocal sensation recalled.

"I was working and working and working … I was irritable and in constant fear of letting people down. It turns out that I was experiencing a form of mania. Eventually, I would just hit a wall.

"I guess my depressive episodes were characterised by having very low energy. I would feel so lonely and sad — even guilty that I wasn’t doing what I needed to be doing for my career.”

A post shared by Mariah Carey (@mariahcarey) on

Now, though, Mariah says she is 'in a really good place right now, where I’m comfortable discussing my struggles with bipolar II disorder'.

"I’m hopeful we can get to a place where the stigma is lifted from people going through anything alone," she told People

"It can be incredibly isolating. It does not have to define you and I refuse to allow it to define me or control me.”

We are happy to hear that Mariah is doing well, and we're sure her story is giving hope to others dealing with their own mental health.

Today is National pet day, and it has made me SUPER emotional about how much I love my dog.

Pets are fabulous in all shapes and sizes, but doggos are my number one.

They don't call dogs 'man's best friend' for nothing, and we're here to tell you why we love dogs so much.

1. They are so DARN cute.

Do you ever look at your dog, and wonder how something could possibly so bloody cute? Well, so do I. Every time they walk, bark or sleep is a new cuteness discovery that will inevitably put a massive grin on your face.

White and Black Puppy

2. They get you moving.

It can be difficult to get yourself moving after a long day at work, but a dog is a brilliant motivator. When you even glance at their lead, they will freak out with excitement. Dogs need to be walked, and we need to get moving – making them the perfect work out partners.

3. They make great cuddle partners.

You know those chilly winter evenings, when you curl up with a glass of vino – and stick on some Netflix? Well, the only thing that makes those nights better is a cuddle from your gorgeous furry friend.

4. They love you unconditionally.

No matter what, your dog will always love you unconditionally. Even if you accidently step on his tail, or give him a scolding for peeing in the kitchen – they will love you, and that is something you cannot put a price on.

White and Chocolate Long Coat Dog

5. They can actually prevent allergies.

I had no idea, but apparently dogs can actually lower your chance of becoming allergic to animals, by up to 33 percent, according to a 2004 study in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. Every day is a school day.

6. They're empathetic, and can help with trauma.

Dogs are extremely empathetic animals, and can tell if you are upset or feeling under the weather. Dogs are great companions for people who are suffering through a loss or trauma, as they relieve stress. Dogs can sense human body language, emotions, and feelings, which paves the way for an unbreakable bond.

Dog on Grass

7. They teach you to enjoy life.

Dogs (sadly) don't live as long as humans do, but they live every moment to the fullest. They enjoy everything, from simple walks on the beach and treats to road trips and playing fetch. Dogs are examples of how amazing life can be, and set a great example to humans!
