A young Saudi woman has caused a stir online after she posted a video of herself walking around in public in a miniskirt and crop top.

The footage has divided opinions, with some Saudis calling for her arrest while others rush to her defence.

Women in Saudi Arabia are not permitted to show off their bodies in public and must wear long, loose robes.

The video, posted on Snapchat, shows the young woman walking around an empty historic fort in Ushaiager, a village just north of Riyadh, where many of the country's most conservative families live.

After the video was shared online, two conflicting hashtags emerged – one calling for her arrest and another arguing that she should have the freedom to dress as she pleases.

Ibrahim al-Munayif, a Saudi writer with more than 41,000 followers on Twitter, wrote:

“Just like we call on people to respect the laws of countries they travel to, people must also respect the laws of this country.”

Others pointing out the fact that US First Lady, Melania Trump, although modestly dressed, had refused to wear a head cover during President Trump's visit to Saudi Arabia in May.

According to the Associated Press, the Saudi Okaz news website reported that officials in Ushaiager called on the region's police to take actions against the woman.

Another news website reported that the kingdom's morality police had corresponded with other agencies to investigate the video further.

Given that almost half of Saudi Arabia's population in under the age of 25, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, has pushed for greater openings for entertainment in part to appease the country's youth, but strict gender segregation rules remain.

Attention all vegan/ lactose intolerant sweet lovers – this one's for you.

Ben & Jerry's have announced that their non-dairy ice-cream will soon be available on these shores.

The range has been available in the US for some time now, however, despite repeated requests from dairy-free foodies in the UK and Ireland, the company have been slow to introduce the product on this side of the atlantic.

So, what took so long?

Well, a statement posted on the company's official website revealed that the range has been in works for quite some time now:

"We couldn’t keep the secret anymore… we are working on bringing Non-Dairy here! We hope to have it available in Ireland soon."

“We've been working on this for quite a while, and want to make sure these flavours live up to what Ben & Jerry's is known for: enormous chunks, delicious swirls and a commitment to values-led ingredient sourcing.”

“Our Flavour Gurus have been hard at work to ensure they taste just as euphoric as our dairy tubs, which includes a lot of taste testing!”

The ice-cream makers could not confirm the exact release date, but they did advise customers to keep a close eye on social media for all the “latest non-dairy updates.”

What a time to be alive!

Whether you're a casual contact lens wearer or never go without them, you'll know all too well the agony that accompanies the moment your lens decides to go walk about…in the back of your eye.

If you thought a rogue eyelash or a shampoo explosion was bad, it has nothing on the pain caused by your lens slipping itself behind your eyeball.

Any contact lens wearer will know they'll stop at nothing to retrieve it which is why a group of doctors in the UK were left stunned after discovering – wait for it – 17 stray lenses at the back of a woman's eye recently.

The 67-year-old, who was waiting on cataract surgery, had been wearing disposable lenses for more than 35 years, and assumed the discomfort she was enduring was the result of ageing.

Speaking to Optometry Today, Rupal Morjaria, a specialist trainee ophthalmologist who worked on the case, admitted that the team at Solihull Hospital near Birmingham had never encountered such a mass.

"None of us have ever seen this before. It was such a large mass. All the 27 contact lenses were stuck together," she confirmed of the patient who had not been attending optometrist appointments.

"We were really surprised that the patient didn’t notice it because it would cause quite a lot of irritation while it was sitting there,” she said

Thankfully, the removal of the mass has resulted in a better quality of life for the patient concerned, with Rupal saying: "When she was seen two weeks after I removed the lenses she said her eyes felt a lot more comfortable."

Props to that woman for taking that discomfort like a boss, but a reminder to the rest of us to keep up to date with our optometrist appointments.

A galaxy far, far away is about get a lot closer to home, because Disney have just revealed plans that are sure to excite your inner Star Wars nerd.

That's right, there's a Star Wars– themed Disneyland project in the pipeline and fans are freaking out.

At D23 Expo 2017, Walt Disney Chairman, Bob Chapek, showed a detailed model of the 14-acre park known as 'Galaxy's Edge', that is currently being built at Disneyland's Hollywood Studios.

The parks look set to have a number of interactive areas which will allow guests to get up close and personal with starships, droids and of course, all the weird and wonderful Star Wars creatures.

"All along, we have said this will be game-changing, and through the model we can begin to see how truly epic these immersive new worlds will be," Chapek said in a press release.

The park, which looks set to open in 2019, will have two main attractions – one will allow revellers to pilot the Millennium Falcon while another will see guests put into a battle between the First Order and the Resistance.

And if Disney's other parks are anything to go by, we're guessing there'll be a huge variety of Star Wars-themed restaurants with dishes just waiting to be Instagrammed.

That's summer 2019 sorted anyway!

We won't lie, we are slightly jealous of Niamh O'Sullivan's life.

The 24 year-old Kildare-native moved to New York in October 2015 and since then, she has been giving a snapshot into her life in the Big Apple as well as sharing healthy recipes, fitness and motivation tips on her blog Cinnamon Soul.

While her Instagram feed frequently features icecreams and pancakes, Niamh tells SHEmazing all about her favourite foods and how living in New York is both heaven and hell for healthy eaters.

What is your typical weekday breakfast?

I tend to rotate between a fruit smoothie, protein pancakes, and fried eggs on toast.

It depends on whether or not I've been to the gym that morning, and how much time I have to whip something up.

What about lunch?

I'm living in New York at the moment and one of the best things about it is all of the food options at your disposal. With that said, the cost of groceries is extremely high, especially in Manhattan.

I find myself picking something up last minute every day like a salad or wrap from Pret a Manger. As long as it's fresh, I'm not too fussy.

What do you usually have for dinner?

I'm a serious creature of habit so my dinner is usually fresh prawns with soybean spaghetti, fried in garlic, chilli & olive oil. So simple and SO tasty!

Is it different at the weekend?

The weekends are always my biggest downfall when I'm trying to stay healthy, but I am definitely not complaining!

Not only are there literally thousands of restaurants to choose from in New York, but there's always a new part of the city to explore too so it's always fun to try new places.

Naturally though, my weekends plans revolve solely on where and what I'm eating!

Best brunch in Brooklyn

Do you snack during the day?

My go-to snack at about 3pm every single day is a tub of 0% Fage yoghurt with frozen berries, almond butter and a few drops of MyProtein flavour drops to sweeten it up.

What would be your ideal food day?

Breakfast would be a massive bowl of granola, boring – I know, but my Mum makes the most delicious kind and I miss it so much since I moved away from home.

I love tapas and the way that you can be so social when you eat it, so I would probably opt for that for lunch.

Dinner would have to be a classic roast chicken with every single trimming possible.

Dessert would be a warm chocolate brownie or fondant with some pistachio or vanilla ice-cream. Or, my Mum's chocolate roulade – my mouth waters when I think about it!

All of the good fats

The one food you could have everyday for the rest of your life?

Chips, with mayonnaise and salt. I'm absolutely obsessed!

What is your favourite dessert?

Anything Nutella-based. Or a good scoop of ice-cream. Pistachio is my favourite flavour so when I find a good one, I really can't help myself.

What is your favourite meal of the day?

Probably dinner because I usually don't have to be anywhere after I eat it, so I can eat as much as possible and then vegetate on the couch until I can move again, haha!

Your favourite restaurant in Dublin/Ireland/the world?

My favourite restaurant in Dublin is probably the Rustic Stone: you can't beat a good steak!

In Ireland, I think my favourite restaurant would have to be the K Thai in the K Club in Kildare.

I waitressed in the K Club all through college and for my last few months of working there, I worked full time in the K Thai I've tried every single thing on the menu and can safely say that there's not one thing that isn't delicious! I always go back every time I'm home and still catch up with the chefs who are so sound, couldn't recommend it highly enough.

At the moment I'm obsessed with a small Italian restaurant in Alphabet City in New York called Supper NYC. Cacio è Pepe is one of my favourite meals ever and this place has a delicious version (it's basically just spaghetti with cheese and pepper but it's divine).

My favourite restaurant always depends on my mood though so it changes regularly!

The best brunch place in Dublin?

I actually have only tried one place since I've been living abroad for the past 18 months and lived in Galway prior to that. BUT, I went for bottomless brunch in Cleaver East while I was at home in March and it was delicious!

Any “food pet peeves”?

When restaurants don't take the tails off prawns. I hate working for my food – LOL!

I also hate when the restaurant doesn't tell you that what you're ordering definitely needs a side of veg or chips. Nothing worse than when you're finished your meal and have to ask to see the menu again because you're still starving.

What food would you not eat for the whole world?

Celery. I despise it more than anything and I can taste/smell/sense it a mile away. It physically makes me gag!

A post shared by Niamh O'Sullivan  (@niamh_osullivan) on

What can we always find in your fridge?

About 10-12 cans of cold brew coffee from my local supermarket, Fage yoghurt, almond milk, and berries.

The rest is usually bought the day I want to cook/eat. I hate planning meals in advance because I'm so indecisive with food.

You have friends over for dinner, what do you cook for them?

For starter, the last time I had the girls over I made a delicious bruschetta (if I do say so myself).

For mains we had prawns fried in garlic, chilli and olive oil served over spaghetti – my favourite!

Dessert is usually a trip to the Fro-yo place across the street.

Making me miss the weekend more…

A post shared by Niamh O'Sullivan  (@niamh_osullivan) on

Do you find it hard to eat a healthy diet in a daily basis?

Yes and no. In New York, there are so many healthy food options to choose from. But with that, there is also a massive amount of unhealthy options to test you.

If I'm on a roll with my healthy eating then I usually find it easy enough but the smell of pizza is always lingering!

What is your guilty pleasure?

Mayonnaise. I add it to the majority of my meals, I can't help myself.

Le weekend

What is you go-to drink/cocktail in a bar/pub?

Vodka, soda with fresh lime and/or mint. Or a Pinot Grigio.

Your favourite place for a drink in Dublin?

I love P. Mac's, it's such a cool bar. I love the key lime pie cocktail in The Exchequer too. It's a great alternative to dessert after dinner!

It's been reported that Leo Varadkar has begun preparations to formally invite Prince William and Kate Middleton to Ireland.

Officials say the trip would herald the next generation in Anglo-Irish relations and the Taoiseach has asked the Irish embassy in London to examine the logistics.

According to the Irish Examiner, Leo Varadkar spoke to Dan Mulhall, the Irish ambassador in London about the potential visit during his recent trip to London.

While no official invite has been issued, the Government want to ensure the couple receive a warm welcome on Irish soil.

However, the proposed visit could come at a difficult time as Britain prepares to negotiate its exit from the European Union.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have already visited a number of EU capitals this year, prompting rumours that the couple are being seen as unofficial Brexit ambassadors.

Should the invitation get issued, it is hoped the visit would mirror the success of Queen Elizabeth II's trip in 2011.

Prince William has publicly spoke about the delight his grandmother felt after her visit, so it only makes sense that he would graciously accept any offer that came his way.

Although nothing has been confirmed, we're looking forward to welcoming the Duke and Duchess.

Getting out of bed this morning was made so much easier by the presence of that big, golden ball in the sky, right?

But if years of Irish weather has taught us anything, it's to take each day – if not each hour – as it comes.

Thankfully, however, the good folk at Met Eireann have assuaged any fears that we'll need a brolly by lunchtime with their latest forecast.

According to those in the know, Ireland will experience unusually warm weather with this week, with temperatures set to reach 27 degrees over the next few days.

And yes ladies, this unlikely figure does indeed put us on par with some of the continent's most popular holiday destinations!

"Today will be warm, dry and sunny with highest temperatures of 20 to 25 degrees, warmest in the midlands and coolest along coasts due to onshore breezes," reads the online forecast.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and midweek will see a dip in temperature along with the risk of showers.

"There's a risk that a spell of rain on Wednesday will turn heavy. There'll be more rain on Thursday, mostly in the west, it will sweep eastwards and clear overnight on Thursday night."

"Temperatures will be down a little in a moderate to fresh southwest wind. The further outlook towards the end of next week is for a cooler few days to be followed later by higher temperatures once again."

You hear that, high temperatures once again? We'll take what we can get, frankly.

So, Hozier has a bit of a knack for popping up when he least except him.

Last year the Take me to Church singer joined the Trinity Orchestra on stage at Electric Picnic for an epic David Bowie tribute and he pulled a similar stunt during the closing set of Dublin's longitude festival last night.

After a weekend packed with amazing performances from the The Weeknd, Picture This and Stormzy, Mumford and Sons found the perfect way to close the show.

The band invited a a number of Irish artists on stage and from what we can see on Twitter, it was absolutely magical!

Hozier, Jack Garret, Jorja Smith, Kevin Garrett and Lucy Rose were among those to join the British indie rockers for a rendition of the Beatles classic, With a Little Help From my Friends.

Take a look.

Has there ever been a more perfect ending to a festival?

We think not.
