There's nothing like the world wide web for making you realise you're not alone in your bizarre habits, questionable pastimes and peculiar notions.

A quick browse through any meme-orientated website will swiftly prove that when it comes to your unique quirks and idiosyncrasies, you're not so unique, after all.

And the latest Twitter trend to remind us of this is the #ConfessYourUnpopularOpinions hashtag which is currently doing the rounds online.

So, whether you've yet to watch a single episode of Game of Thrones or struggle to understand the world's obsession with Chris Pratt, this hashtag is for you.

We'll let Twitter take it from here…

1. How do you really feel?

2. Woah, now.

3. Right, so.

4. Interesting…

5. Fair enough.

6. Nope.

7. Shame on you.

8. We're saying nothing…

9. We'll fight you.

So, being the only single one in your group of friends isn't exactly a barrel of laughs. Sure, you wish them all the happiness in the world, but wouldn't it be nice to have your old pal back, you know, the way it used to be.

All of a sudden the time allocated to your BFF antics gets cut in half and you often spend Saturday nights alone watching ITV gameshows on repeat.

What's worse is when a group of couples insist you tag along on their night out resulting in a selection of awkward photos that'll make you ask – “What the hell was I doing with my hands?”

However, while it can sometimes be tough watching your friends frollic off into the sunset with their SO, there are actually a whole bunch of reasons why being the single one is a blessing in disguise.

1. You can flirt with whoever you want

You know when people in relationships say they don't miss flirting? Yeah, they're lying.

Having the freedom to form a connection (however small that may be) with whoever you want, whenever you want is not only fun and exciting, it's a truly underrated perk of single life.

2. You can spend all your money on yourself

You'll often hear your friends complain that they can't come out this Saturday because it's so-and-so's birthday in a few weeks.

You'll offer a half-genuine "no worries, maybe next time", before thanking your lucky stars for your complete financial independence.

3. Binge watch any series without anyone getting mad

Netflix cheating is a real issues and data has revealed that 46 per cent of people in relationships are guilty of watching ahead of their partners.

In fact the phenomenon is so big, Netflix have released a series of videos with tips on how to deal with the ultimate act of betrayal.

But that's not your problem – next episode please.

4. You don't have to worry about why they're not texting you back

Let's be real, 90 per cent of the texts you receive are from your mam while the remaining come from the various takeaways around your local area.

And you know what? You wouldn't change it for the world.

5. Your decisions are yours, and yours alone

Move to London?  Travel South America for a year? Go right ahead.

Not that having a SO should ever stop you from following your dreams, but being unattached makes those decisions a whole lot easier.

6. All the wingwomen you could ever hope for

There is no greater friend than one who will do whatever she can to find you a date.

She’ll put herself in some of the most embarrassing situations without even batting an eyelid, because hey, what does she have to lose?

For years now, the redheaded community have sought to have their locks represented on the emoji front, and for years now they've been brutally rebuffed.

While there are surplus emojis we have little use for, our ginger friends have been given little to no recognition on the digital front… until now, that is.

According to emerging reports, a redhead emoji is set for release next year, people.

The Independent reports that Emojipedia have released a list of 67 emojis currently under consideration, and the flame-haired individual is among them.

But before it's considered a sure thing, it's important to note that the proposed emoji needs to make it through the subcommittee's fourth-quarter meeting, but so far, things are looking good for our ginger friends.

Pressure mounted in recent months when Twitter became a veritable haven for anyone who felt personally victimised by the lack of a ginger emoji.

Since the news broke that a ginger emoji may be in the works, Twitter has wasted no time celebrating the potential new addition.

And people are seriously here for it.

What a time to be alive!

Talinda Bennington, widow of the late Chester Bennington, has thanked James Corden and producers for allowing the family to decide whether an episode of Carpool Karaoke featuring the Linkin Park singer will go to air.

The 41-year-old died by suicide at his Los Angeles home on July 20, just days before Linkin Park were due to embark on a North American tour.

Corden told the Associated Press: “We will approach it in whichever manner his family or the people that were involved in that episode, however they would like it to be handled.

“We will navigate it as delicately as possible and just adhere to whatever wishes they would want because I don’t think there’s any other way we could deal with it. It’s a tragedy.”

Talinda then took to Twitter to thank the talk show host for his comments:

The first episode of Carpool Karaoke: The Series was shown on Apple Music on Wednesday.

North Korea's official news agency has said the country is considering a missile strike on the US Pacific territory of Guam.

The news comes just hours after President Donald Trump threatened the communist state with “fire and fury like the world has never seen,” following suggestions that they had overcome one of the last obstacles to being a fully nuclear armed state.

The state-run news agency, KCNA, said North Korea's military is "examining the operational plan" to strike areas around the US territory of Guam, specifically Andersen Air Force Base – a move designed "to send a serious warning signal to the US."

Guam's governor, Eddie Baza Calvo, released a video address on Wednesday, reassuring citizens that there was no reason to be alarmed.

"I want to reassure the people of Guam that currently there is no threat to our island or the Marianas," he said.

"I also want to remind national media that Guam is American soil and we have 200,000 Americans in Guam and the Marianas. We are not just a military installation."

This message was reiterated by The US Departemnt of Defense who said they have the capabilities to counter any threat.

Speaking to CNN, spokesman, Johnny Michael said: "We always maintain a high state of readiness and have the capabilities to counter any threat, to include those from North Korea."

We can all admit that we fell in love with mermaids when we first watched Ariel swimming around with Sebastian under the sea.

The Little Mermaid inspired many Halloween and fancy dress costumes, but since then, a mermaid has taken on a new iridescent lease of life.

With every beauty brand creating mermaid makeup brushed and every high street store creating mermaid-style accessories, it's safe to say the mermaid trend is staying put.

With pretty hues of pink and purple, we all go wild for anything with 'mermaid' in front of it now; mermaid lattes, mermaid shimmer, and even mermaid toast.

You'd think we had enough of it by now, right?

Well, not so, because we are currently freaking out about this mermaid cafe in Thailand.

The Mermaid Island Cafe is a dreamy dessert shop in Pathum Thani, and is embellished with mermaid scales on its walls, and even The Little Mermaid characters.

Oh, and they also give you a mermaid tail to wear while dining in the restaurant – casual.

And it's not only the decor that is inspired by the magical sea creatures; the menu is also kitted out with mermaid cupcakes, cheese cakes, waffles, smoothies and coffee.

BRB, getting our mermaid tail on.

Gucci has been having a major moment, and the high-end brand loves to adorn their famous sneakers with bumblebee embellishments in luxe fabrics.

Making their own spin on the designer look, Penneys are coming to the rescue and providing us with a similar look for a tiny fraction of the price.

A man has been found guilty of possessing explosives with intent to endanger life or property.

The verdict was made after after Nadeem Muhammad, 43, was found to be carrying a pipe bomb when attempting to board a Ryanair flight to Italy at Manchester airport.

The device was found in his hand luggage.

Mr Muhammad sobbed in the dock at Manchester Crown Court after hearing the verdict on his charges, according to The Guardian.

Security officers discovered the homemade device on 30 January.

The device was reportedly created using masking tape, batteries, the tube of a marker pen, pins and wires.

The device was smuggled in the zip lining of his suitcase.

Mr Muhammad claimed he had never seen the device before.

After an initial detainment, he was released and allowed to board another flight to Italy after security officers originally thought that the device was not a viable bomb.

'It is clear that the consequences, had he been successful, could have been disastrous,' said the Crown Prosecution Service's Sue Hemming.

He will be sentanced on August 23.
