Pamela Anderson has spoken out against the fur industry once again.

This time, the former Baywatch star singled out Naomi Campbell for her frequent donning or real fur.

Her statement came after Naomi wore a floor-length fox-fur coat to the Pirelli Calendar party in Manhattan.

Her companion Sean Combs, or Puff Daddy, also opted for a white mink scarf.

The model graphically described the methods of killing used by fur farmers.

Speaking to Page Six, Pamela said: 'So many animals were anally electrocuted for this coat and sometimes skinned alive.'

'Naomi, I adore you. I wish you wouldn't wear fur.'

She continued: 'People follow you. You are a fashion icon. This is heartbreaking.'

'Please have a heart and lose the real fur.'

President Donald Trump has said he will no longer be lifting the ban on the importation of hunted elephants.

He announced the news via Twitter after his administration faced huge backlash from the announcement that the ban would be lifted.

Trump argued that hunting could actually help conservation efforts.

'To support conservation, hunters should choose to hunt only in countries that have strong governance, sound management practices, and healthy wildlife populations,' a White House spokesperson told The Independent.

The ban was put in place as part of the Obama administration.

Animal rights activists were outraged by the lifting of the ban.

'The suggestion by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service that slaughtering imperilled elephants is acceptable as long as a donation is given to “conservation” marks an expansion of its outrageous “pay-to-play” policy, which thwarts the Endangered Species Act,' reads a statement from PETA.

'PETA has been challenging this policy for years and will continue to do so until the government recognizes that selling a threatened animal’s life to raise money for “conservation” is like selling a child on the black market to raise money to fight child molestation.'

Trump tweeted that he will be maintaining the ban until he can review the 'facts' about elephant conservation.

Today FM presenter and host of TV3's Blind Date Al Porter is facing claims of sexual harassment and misconduct.

Porter has been accused of groping and harassing four fellow comedians.

He has not yet publicly responded to the claims.

'As he was paying me, he put his hand straight down the front of my jeans,' comedian Davey Reilly told The Times, who previously worked for Porter at a comedy night in Dublin.

He went on to detail how a second groping incident occurred in the bathroom of a comedy club in Edinburgh.

'This was in the public bathroom. There were other people around, that was how brazen it was,' he told The Times.

'We take any comments of this nature extremely seriously.'

The vegan boom is well under way, with vegan options making their way out of speciality health stores and into major supermarkets and corner stores.

Veganism is on the rise, as consumers eschew eggs, dairy and meat in favour of mycoprotein and coconut-based substitutes.

The lifestyle has been named on many of the food trend lists for 2018, as the food industry responds to the demands for more mainstream options sans animal by-products.

For those not in the know, a vegan diet eliminates all animal-based items from the menu – so that's no eggs, dairy, honey or meat.

Instead, the vegan concept focuses on running a healthy body on a cruelty-free and sustainable plant-based diet.

'Brands should also expect to feel more pressure to develop vegan options,' says Toronto-based food agency THP.

While veganism was already on the rise in 2017, the food industry should see a further increase in interest in the vegan lifestyle, judging by the frequency of the appearance of veganism on these trend lists.

'Already proven to be a major hit in 2017 with the increased availability and variety of vegetarian and vegan meal options in restaurants, diners are slowly embracing animal-free diets as a health-conscious effort,' says  International Taste Solution, after placing veganism third on their food trend list.

More and more, people are choosing to fulfil their protein and nutritional needs without animal-derived products.

'The demand for high-protein foods continues, and with more of us choosing a flexitarian diet it’s no wonder there’s such a buzz around new plant-based proteins,' according to UK supermarket chain Waitrose.

'Whether with pulses, shoots, grains, seeds, soy or even algae, everyone from tiny start-up companies to big brands is looking for clever new ways to add a protein punch.'

Flexitarianism, a key food trend in 2017, is also set to see a spike in 2018.

This method of eating involves eating a mostly, but not strictly, vegan or vegetarian diet, such as being veggie all week and then indulging in a dairy and meat-based meal on the weekends.

Eating disorders are complex and multifaceted illnesses, with a number of causes and manifestations.

Experts in the area are constantly trying to improve the treatment methods for those suffering from eating disorders, and new research shows that studying feminist ideology could be of assistance.

Now, researchers don't exactly mean reading The S.C.U.M Manifesto and being on your merry way.

Experts have published a paper in the Journal of Eating Disorders which shows that a 10 week course discussing the portrayal of the female body and appetite could help sufferers to feel less to blame for their illnesses.

Those who participated were more able to identify their problem within a broader cultural context after studying feminism.

The group looked a gendered portrayals of appetite and discussed how females are expected to appear in society.

Academics at the University of East Anglia carried out the programme on seven patients, none of which originally identified as feminists.

They looked at Disney movies, TV ads and social media to establish how women are showcased and how that can relate back to diet and appetite.

While participants found that the groups helped them to identify how social constructs of femininity impact their disorder, many felt that their disorder was the result of individual experience or issue, rather than a broader societal reason.

'So [it is] less like, well there’s a model, a skinny model in a magazine, looking at that, you’ve been looking at that too much and so you just wanna’ be like them…' said one participant.

'I don’t agree with that at all. I think that completely trivialises it.'

Researchers concluded that gender issues are not addressed enough in the treatment of those with eating disorders.

Online fashion company Missguided received international applause when they featured models on their website with visible stretch marks.

It's an industry norm to airbrush out every stretch mark, scar and wrinkle, and so the inclusion  of these 'imperfections' was a welcome respite.

However, fans of the fashion collective began questioning the legitimacy of the marks, and accused the brand of actually photoshopping the stretch marks onto the models.

'I’m sorry, I don’t understand how this brand keeps denying that they’ve photoshopped stretch marks onto this model, but from these two images you can clearly see the marks aren’t the same,' reads one tweet.

'If you’re trying to show natural beauty, don’t photoshop it in.'

'The @Missguided stretch mark pics look weird? weirdly edited?' said another.

Now, the model featured in some of the shots has come forward to confirm their legitimacy.

'I'd like to speak out and let everyone know the stretch marks shown in my images on Missguided are real,' she penned in an Insta post for the behemoth fashion brand.

'I think it's really positive that Missguided aren't photshopping them out – it's important to show young women it's not about striving for perfection, it's okay to have stretch marks.'

A post shared by MISSGUIDED (@missguided) on

'There's nothing wrong with having them, we all do, and shouldn't be something that's covered up.'

Kudos to Missguided for ceasing to edit out stretch marks, a natural part of growing up into into an adult body.

Another win for natural beauty, in our opinion.

Fancy getting more involved in feminist events happening in Dublin?

Fem Fest 2017 is the perfect place to start.

Organised by the National Women's Council of Ireland, the event, kicking off on Saturday November 25, is designed for young woman to come together and discuss dismantling the patriarchy.

We joke, the event is actually about female leadership and engaging women in a discussion about feminine authority.

According to the NWCI: 'The day-long conference will specifically engage young women from the ages of 16-25 to recognise their existing and potential leadership capacity and challenge the barriers they face to grow as leaders.'

'The conference provides a space for young women to discuss the issues that affect them and is attended by young women from a range of backgrounds in urban and rural communities.'

So far, the stellar line up of speakers includes Anna Cosgrave, founder of the Repeal Project, Sinead McSweeney, MD of Twitter in Ireland, Dil Wickremasinghe, Social Justice and Mental Health Podcaster and Louise McSharry, presenter at RTÉ 2fm.

Also speaking will be Sinead Aherne, Captain of the Dublin Ladies Football Team, Demilade Adeniran, a No Hate Speech Campaigner, Síona Cahill, from the Union of Students in Ireland, and Vanessa Lacey, from the Transgender Equality Network Ireland.

The event is completely free, but registration is essential.

The recent uproar surrounding decade-old tweets unearthed from YouTube superstar Zoe Sugg's Twitter proves that deleting those old posts from when you were an idiotic teenager is always a good idea.

The YouTuber, blogger and business woman was on the receiving end of serious backlash, when tweets that she posted a number of years ago were dug up and republished by social media sleuths.

The tweets were penned between 2009 and 2012, and one which offended people in particular was the following:

In other tweets, referring to an unknown person, Zoe also said 'I just saw her Twitter. She needs to get dressed tbh. Lol skank attack.'

She also tweeted that another woman should have '"kept her legs shut" excuse my choice of words haha.'

It is not known what she was specifically referring to in this instance, though Zoe mentions in her apology that she was discussing a TV show.

Another tweet showed her communicating with fellow mega-blogger Tanya Burr, in which she referred to someone as a 'tranny.'

Another tweet has been criticised as Islamaphobic.

In the tweet, Zoe took a picture of a woman in full hijab against her knowledge, and captioned it: 'There's a death eater on my train.'

Zoe, who has over 12 million followers on YouTube, has apologised for the statements that she made.

'I’ve seen a few of my old tweets from 7/8 years ago floating around (which I have now deleted) using words like “chav” “skank” and other words I wouldn’t use now as part of my language and lot of them were taken out of context referring to TV shows but I would never say those things now and I’m sorry if I have offended anyone, that was not my intention,' she said via Twitter.

'Obviously that is not who I am today and I’d like to think I’m a little older and wiser!'

'I’m not perfect and I’ve never claimed to be, I’m only human.'

Fans of the vlogger have rushed to her defence, claiming that Zoe was young and immature when she made the statements (she would have been aged 19-22) and that people change.

'I don’t think it’s fair that people are judging Zoella on tweets from 7 years ago. I used to be quite a nasty person 7 years ago but I grew up and learned from that and so did she,' said one.

However, others have been discussing the damage to the very wholesome brand of Zoella under the '#ZoellaIsOverParty' hashtag.

The apology comes after the online star was forced to defend her advent calendar, which received quite a bit of backlash online for it's price and quality of contents.

We don't know about you, but when it's our time of the month, we feel like we deserve a little bit of special treatment.

So imagine our delight when we heard that one bar (based in Tel Aviv unfortunately) was doing just that for women on their periods?

Drum roll please… introducing Bloody Hour, a concept from Anna LouLou bar which sees women availing of discounted drinks at that time of the month.

'25pc discount on the entire bar, for the entire night on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays,' reads the description.

And before anyone asks how the bar staff would know someone was on their period or not, let us stop you right there.

The entire system is based on trust – if you say it's that time of the month, the staff believe you.

As if our five million hormonal zits and bloated tummy wouldn't give the game away anyway.

'We want women to say, "Hey, I’m on my period," and for it to have a deeper and broader resonance, for it to be legitimate for women to talk about it,' owner Moran Barir told Haaretz.

Think any Irish bars would roll out this concept over here?
