Summer is fast approaching and that means so are our summer adventures.

But one thing that always comes between us and our adventures is those dreaded blisters and cuts from wearing the wrong shoes.

It happens year after year, holiday after holiday, and we still haven't learned to buy the right footwear.

Fashion over comfort doesn't always work so well, huh?

But now, FitFlop has launched its new SS17 flipflop, and all of our prayers have been answered.

Not only do they look super slick, but they have iQushion technology, which is lightweight and also contours into the shape of your foot.

FitFlop uses biomechanics in its footwear; a science that applies mechanical principals to the human body.

But is putting so much science into a pair of flipflops really worth it?

Hell yeah, if you don't want to have burning, sore, blistered feet at the end of the day.

The mechanics of this shoe pays attention to the pressure points and pressure lines of your foot, which means you get all day comfort.

Well, that's us sold.

United Airlines found themselves in hot water this week after a distressing video emerged of a man being dragged off a flight against his will.

The man was asked to leave the airplane before take-off as the flight had been overbooked. When he refused, a police officer forcibly removed the man, leaving other passengers in shock at what they were seeing.

The video has been shared around the world and thousands have expressed their disgust at how the situation was handled.

The footage even proved too much for Game of Thrones creator, George R.R. Martin, the man responsible for some of the most gruesome and deadly scenes to hit out TV screens in decades.

The author is not usually known for his social commentary, but on Tuesday morning George called for the resignation of Oscar Munoz, United Airlines CEO, on his LiveJournal blog.

"I don't often comment on current events, but the story about the passenger that United Airlines beat bloody and dragged off a flight — for no reason but to accommodate some of their own deadheading employees, and despite the fact that he had a ticket that he'd bought and paid for and was doing nothing but sitting peacefully in his assigned seat — has me seeing red,"

The CEO finally apologised for the incident in a statement posted to the company's official Twitter account on Tuesday.

He wrote: "Like you, I continue to be disturbed by what happened on this flight and I deeply apologise to the customer forcibly removed and to all the customers aboard… No one should ever be mistreated this way."

Shares in United Airlines dropped 3.8 per cent following the release of video and it's hard to see how the company will move on from this appalling incident.

Stop everything.

Rumours of a Friends reunion have been circulating for years, and now our prayers have finally been answered.

Friends! The Musical is happening.

Yes, that’s right. Prepare to get up close and personal with some of television's most loved characters –Ross, Rachel, Phoebe, Monica, Joey and Chandler are back, only this time they’ll be live on stage, belting out a tune or two.

According to The Huffington Post, the song list includes some hilariously titled hits such as:

  • We Were on a Break!

  • How You Doing, Ladies?

  • The Only Coffee Shop in New York City

  • Oh. My. God. It’s Janice!

  • Could I BE Any More… in Love with Monica?

  • We’ll Always Be There For You

Although the show is not officially endorsed by the creators of the sitcom, the script will focus entirely on the original gang and is set to include some of their most memorable hijinks.

The stage show was written by Bob and Tobly McSmith who have had off-Broadway success with their musical parodies of 90210 and Keeping up with the Kardashians.

Friends! The Musical will open in New York’s Triad Theater this autumn, and with no further shows scheduled, we can only wait in hope that the spectacle will make it across the pond!

There’s no doubt that the diet industry has come on leaps and bounds over the past few years. The focus has shifted somewhat, and many young people are focusing on their overall health and fitness goals rather that achieving that ‘perfect’ body.

However, with our social media feeds filled with to the brim with pictures and videos depicting this perfect lifestyle, the pressure is still on.

Good morning, and my goodness it is a beautiful morning to wake up to I was up super early for my course today and so kept breakfast relatively light as I'll want to eat again soon! This morning I had poached eggs on grilled mushrooms with fresh chopped spinach, chilli, tomatoes, crumbled feta and seeds. For those asking, today's course is on postural restoration or PRI and is a two day intensive course. I'm feeling pretty lucky as it's the first time this course has come to the UK, and I can't wait to see some of my favourite faces in the industry there @shona_vertue @olliefrostpt @lbp_adamwillis So now, it's time to get my geek on and wish you all a wonderful weekend! #Breakfast #EatWellEveryday #Eggs #EverydayFitness

Some so-called ‘clean-eating’ regimes recommend dropping certain food groups, such as carbs and dairy, and while these programs may offer short-term results, deep down we all know that it’s not sustainable, nor good for our health.

A survey conducted by the National Osteoporosis Society in the UK found that four in 10 young adults, aged between 18 and 24, have attempted at least one of these trendy diets. While two in 10 admitted to restricting their intake of milk and cheese which are major sources of calcium.

The charity warned of the potential risks these nutrient deficient diets may have on our health later in life, including osteoporosis and brittle bones.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, charity advisor, Susan Lanham-New warned: ‘'By the time we get into our late twenties it is too late to reverse the damage caused by nutrient deficiencies.''

So, turns out your mother was right all along.

Them bones, them bones need calcium girls!

Okay, so it's a bit of a grim topic, but we all have to use a public leithris every once in a while, and if there is any method of making this a tolerable experience, we'll use it.

When you pop into the public loo, what's the first thing you do?

Well choose a stall, of course. But while that choice seems random, it could actually be extremely important if you want to avoid unnecessary contact with avoidable germs.

If you want to choose the most hygienic stall of them all, the first one is your best bet.

According to Dr. Mehmet Oz on Sharecare, a public health forum"Experts theorise that people tend to skip the first stall in favour of stalls farther back to have a little more privacy."

"But because the first stall is used least often, it contains the lowest bacteria levels."

"Instead of skipping the first stall, choose it to help avoid possible infections."

The middle ones are said to be the dirtiest loos, as these are the ones most people pick, according to Cosmo

Good to know, now to purchase a large vat of hand sanitizer.

As the age-old saying goes, breaking up is hard to do.

Or is it?

The action of breaking up is actually pretty easy thanks to technology because we can now get dumped via text, Snapchat or even email, but we've never seen anyone get dumped by Spotify.

Until now that is.

One proud sister took to Twitter to show of her genius sibling's method of bae disbandment.

After dating one guy named Wyatt for a while, the sister soon realised that she had feelings for someone new.

Rather than ghosting the guy, Erika's sister took to Spotify to make her feelings known.

Using a series of song names, she managed to spell out the message: "Do you still want to kiss me because I am kinda lovin someone else but we can still be friends." (sic).

Admittedly, this is a rather mean albeit creative way to dump someone, so we weren't too surprised when the break up message recipient made a playlist of his own.

Rather than spelling it out, Wyatt simply added one song to the list, called STFU, or shut the f*** up.

Kudos to both of them for creativity, though maybe not for their sensitivity skills.

We’ll admit it, there are certain points in the day when small talk is just not on our agenda.

It’s tough enough with colleagues and acquaintances, but when a stranger takes it upon themselves to approach us during our daily commute, we don’t feel we should have to take responsibility for our actions.

Our earphones are in, our face is stuck in our phone and our body is angled away from everyone else, and yet certain people still see that as an invitation for a chinwag.

Heading them off at the pass, Emma Doran has created a fool-proof way of ensuring you’re left the hell alone while waiting on your next bus.

We’ll let the woman herself take it from here…

One Direction star Louis Tomlinson was arrested last month for being involved in a brawl with a paparazzi.

Now, the singer has discovered that he will not face any charges over the incident, and will only have to give his account at a hearing according to The Sun

“Each of the parties will be interviewed regarding the incident and advised of the law and ways to avoid similar incidences in the future," said a spokesperson for the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office.

A post shared by Louis Tomlinson (@louist91) on

“Typically there is no further action taken by our office after the hearing, though we do reserve the right to file charges up to one year from the date of the original incident should additional information or future actions require additional measures.”

The 25-year-old singer felt that a member of the paparazzi was getting too close to him and Eleanor Calder at the time of the incident.

The pair were travelling through LAX Airport in Los Angeles.

Both Louis and the pap will be asked to recite their accounts at the hearing, before the case is finalised.

Louis and his legal team have maintained that the singer was "provoked" in the incident.

This year's Galway Food Festival is on the horizon, and it looks like it's set to be a delicious feast for culinary connoisseurs and food fans alike.

The festival will run over the Easter weekend, from Thursday April 13 to Monday April 17.

"Galway is home to many different communities, both local and international. In an age of increased migration, we are witness to so many new people arriving in Galway bringing with them their own food culture."

"It is central that we marry these global cultures with our own in order a secure a brighter future for food," said the festival organisers.

Some of Galway's finest eateries are taking part in the foodie feast.

Biteclub, Wa Cafe, Cava Bodega, Il Vicola and Anair will all be taking part.

A number of the city's cafes are also on board, including the ever-popular Coffeewerk + Press and Caprice.

Over 100 food-based events will be happening over the weekend, all focused on the theme of food and community.

“Community and food are so closely linked as every culture and community forms a large part of their identity through food whether during celebration, through tradition and history or simply daily dining rituals," said owner of Builín Blasta Café and Bakery in Spiddal, Heather Flaherty.

All 90s kids will remember the horror of getting your Tamagotchi confiscated in primary school, only to get no sympathy after choruses of "but he'll die, Miss" from your teacher.

By the time you got your precious baby back at the end of the day, he was literally on death's door, surrounded by little poops and crying out for food.

Oh, and you could never get a hint of pity from your parents, who simply did not understand the whole Tamagotchi concept.

Well, get ready to live your 10-year-old life all over again, because the Tamagotchi is the latest 90s relic to resurrect itself from the graveyard of hair mascara and diamante denim.

As well as being one of the first artificial intelligence toys, the Tamagotchi was the ultimate fashion accessory to jazz up your school bag, which is why we're totally behind this re-launch.

How kitsch would it be to have one of the baby bots attached to our keys?

And we'd have something else to do on our commute home than scroll through social media.

Unfortunately, the adorable but needy little critters are only being re-released in Japan, but there are plenty available on eBay for anything form €9.99 to €20.00.
