We love hearing about new makeup and cosmetic gadgets, especially when they're Irish – #Nationalpride.

Anyway, with that in mind, we wanted to introduce you to Powder 'n' Pout Cosmetics – a fantastic brand that we have just discovered.

Located in the heart of Donegal is a hair and makeup salon with a delightful Alice in Wonderland theme called Powder 'n' Pout, owned by the fantastic Aisling Cunningham.

As a creative and extremely talented makeup artist, Aisling has tried and tested pretty much every brush brand on the planet, and realised that there was a gap in the market for brushes that were high in quality and affordable.

And so, Powder 'n' Pout Cosmetics was born – and we couldn't be more delighted.

Aisling believes that the right makeup tools are just as important as your choice of makeup, and this belief is truly reflected in her amazing products.

Every Powder 'n' Pout brush represents a brand that delivers high quality, longevity and affordability to all makeup users – plus, they look fantastic, too.

The brand offers a wide range of individual brushes that would give anyone that coveted flawless skin, with prices starting at just €6, which is extremely reasonable for such high quality products.

Our personal favourite item on offer is the flat contour brush, which will make you look like the superstar you know you are.

Powder 'n' Pout also offer fantastic brush sets, that are such excellent value for money!

All in all, this brand is amazing, and Irish – which is always a nice touch for us.

Whether you are living paycheck to pay cheque, or you just like a little bit extra in your life, having a side project to make a birra money from is a great thing to do.

Great, but it can be difficult.

You won't be able to just pick up a hobby and instantly make cash from it. You'll will need to work out time management, demands, connections, and have a whole lotta ambition.

Working in a group

That said, it's not unattainable. If you feel like a little bit of side hustle could help you make rent each month, or buy you a few Topshop goodies, here are tips on how to make money out of a hobby:

1. DIY

Right, so you've just finished your degree and can't seem to find a job that fits in perfectly with what you want to do in your life.

This can be a tricky time because you have options, but you just don't know what one to choose.

Samantha Matt told The Financial Diet that this is how she began making her side hobby into work, which now brings in 50 per cent of her total income.

She wanted to be a TV writer, but couldn't find a job in that field. So, she found a position that was related to her degree, and then blogged on the side.

Blogs can be a bit saturated right now, but if you have an idea that is totally outside of the box, go with it and see if you can monetise it in the future.

However, if tech is not your thing and your hobby is more on the creative side, there are still endless possibilities.

For example, Kelly Ging of Kelly Lou Cakes began baking cakes at home and sold them out of her parent's hardware store in Co. Laois. She grew her business into selling a few on the side, to 100 a week and now hundreds upon hundreds every month.

So, plan how your hobby can make you some extra cash, see if there is a demand for it, work on it in your spare time, and then reap in the rewards.

2. Time management

This will come in handy in every aspect of your life.

If you're serious about making some money out of a side project, unfortunately it can't just be a bit of work here and there. You need a routine and you need to stick to it.

If that means taking two hours out each evening to concentrate on it, then so be it. Nobody said it was going to be easy.

However, if you have your time management down to a T, and stick to it, everything will be easier.

You won't burn yourself out and you will still have time to see your friends and family.

It's so important to stick to your set times, because if you put aside two hours for side hustle, but end up doing four, you'll no doubt end up grumpy and frustrated at the end of the night.

Discipline yourself, but be strict when it comes to your time off, too. As Jax Jones says, "Time is money so don't f*ck with mine."

Don't f*ck with your time, ladies.

3. Make connections

Whether you work in finance and your side hustle is painting or you have a job in content creation and your side hustle is making jewellery, you can never have too many connections in BOTH fields.

Even if your chosen industries are world's apart, you are bound to have people that work in both or that can help you out in one or the other.

Meet as many people as you can that could help your business – make connections through emails, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.

Between writers, bloggers, accountants, PRs, and marketing professionals, everyone is important.

But, you'll need to be brave. Go to events, introduce yourself, make your name (and side hustle) known and be polite to everyone.

Roisin Hogan went from being an accountant to creating her own healthy food business, Hiro by Roisin. She knew what connections meant in the industry when she started out and she took every opinion on board.

It just shows that your chosen side hustle doesn't have to be in line to what your job is now. And by making these connections in every field, you'll get your new venture out there.

The more people talk about it, the more they'll know about it and the more they'll want it.

4. It's not everything

Your work is not your life, and your side hustle is not your life, either. If you feel like your burning yourself out, take a step back and relax.

You also need to remember that if your side hustle doesn't work out, it's not the end of the world.

Even if you really want that little bit of wiggle room at the end of each month, working non-stop is not healthy, and you could end up hating your hobby.

Ambition leads to big things and you deserve to do what makes you happy, but remember that you do have options.

If you feel like you're stuck in a rut, or in a financial black hole, there are ways out. Talk to family, friends, your connections (they're really important) and see what you can do.

Your money-making hobby is supposed to be fun and it's supposed to take a bit of pressure off you – so don't let it do the opposite.

beach, bonfire, community

But as with anything in life, explore your options, find your strengths, and take time to work out what makes you happy.

As sappy as it sounds, you'll never know what a side hobby could lead to, or what you could learn about yourself from it.

The clocks went forward on Saturday night which means millions of us have had a vague feeling of jet lag since yesterday.

However, for many women in Ireland, that feeling is all too familiar, and not given the attention it deserves.

Existing on six hours sleep, putting in long days at the office and attempting to maintain a social life takes its toll on our bodies, and we just need to accept exhaustion as a side effect, right?

Wrong.

All too often, women ignore symptoms of iron deficiency because they assume feeling tired and run-down is part and parcel of today’s hectic lifestyle.

Iron is vital when it comes to maintaining energy levels and boosting the immune system, so when you’re lacking in it, you automatically begin feeling tired and lethargic.

So, why don’t more women address the issue head-on?

Well, many of us fall into the trap of assuming that we’re on top form because we eat well, work-out regularly and get enough sleep, but it’s important to remember that various elements can have an impact on our iron stores.

“There are many life stages for women where iron levels become a watchpoint, such as at puberty, hormonal changes and during menstruation.  Even fitness regimes and changing your diet can impact iron stores,” explains Dr Eva Orsmond.

And that’s where Blueiron comes in.

A cult product in its native Finland, Blueiron, made with fresh mineral water and rich in immune-boosting vitamin C, is a liquid iron supplement which increases a person’s iron levels.

Unlike many traditional iron supplements, Blueiron is gentle on the digestive system resulting in fewer of the side effects most commonly associated with iron supplements, such as constipation or abdominal pain.

So, if you spent much of your day feeling like you're treading through treacle, it might be time for a burst of blueberries…

From the moment you begin making friends, you quickly learn that some people will always need to one-up you when it comes to concerns, anecdotes or real-life experiences.

If you went to the States on your summer holiday, they went to the moon.

If you broke your arm, they broke their their leg.

And if you have a whopper of a story to share it with the squad, you can be damn sure they'll be hovering in the wings just waiting to swoop in with a bigger and better tale.

Tapping into this toe-curling trait in a recent video, Jen Hatton and Emma Doran gave us a play by play on how those excrutciating exchanges with these people tend to pan out.

And if no one springs to mind, then it might be because you're the guilty one…

While we love the idea of longer evenings and brighter days, the clocks going forward on Saturday night brought with it a whole world of pain as we adjusted to the change, and ultimately found ourselves trundling around in a sleep-deprived fog for most of this morning.

It might have only been 60 minutes, but hell we really needed every one of them.

And so did these people by the sound of things.

If you've ever found yourself losing sleep over the number of people who appear in the photographs you upload to social media, your concerns may be placated with the help of a Japanese company called Family Romance.

In a bid to help those who tend to think quantity over quality when it comes to friends, Family Romance have launched a service called Real Appeal which allows you to 'hire' people to populate your uploads.

So, here's the deal.

Those who feel they're in dire need of a mate or two can choose people from a catalogue – and can even specify certain characteristics, such as gender, age and style – before hiring the individuals for a minimum of two hours at a cost of €42.

According to the folk behind the service, they receive an average of 100 requests per month for their service, and they even offer fake family members and seat fillers for various other occasions like weddings and business seminars.

Something to think about the next time you think your friends are about to bail on you…

It sounds like baby number three could well and truly be on the cards if Kim Kardashian gets her way.

In a promo that aired last night for next week’s episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, the 36-year-old announced to her family that she wanted to try for another child.

Kim has been open about her struggles to conceive with her first two children, and says her doctors have advised her that another pregnancy may not be safe for her.

However, the 16 second promo showed the mum-of-two share her determination to have another child.

“I’m going to try to have one more baby,” Kim told her shocked family.

“I want my kids to have siblings, but the doctors don’t feel like it’s safe for me.”

Kim is already mum to three-year-old North and one-year-old Saint with husband, Kanye West, but admits that she’d like to have more.

However, mum Kris was seen sharing her concerns with Kim in the clip from next week’s episode, saying:

“I don’t want you to do something that would put you in danger.”

Kim has previously spoke about her struggles to conceive after a surgery to fix a condition called placenta accreta.

As well as adjusting her diet, Kim also received acupuncture and visited her doctor daily in her efforts to conceive.

Last month, Kim sparked rumours that she and Kanye were trying for baby number three after she shared a fan’s post about hoping to get pregnant.

Disney fans, take note.

If you have plans on May 20th, cancel them, because the Prince Charles Cinema in London's West End is hosting an all night Disney sleepover.

It's like all our childhood dreams are coming true at once.

The cinema will be showing seven Disney films, Alice in Wonderland, The Jungle Book, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Lion King, along with one very exciting mystery movie on the night.

This reminds us of our childhood evenings spent swaddled in blankets, eating popcorn and settling in with a good Disney video. *Sigh*

The movie marathon will run all night, from 8.45pm to 9am the following morning.

So, we think it may be time to book tickets to London pretty soon, right?

If you can't make it over for this amazing event, simply make a blanket fort and get the laptop out to return to your childhood instantly with your favourite film.

If we could eat Mc Donalds all day, everyday, we totally would, and one of the tastiest elements of a Mc D's is the savoury sauces.

That's why when we saw that the sauces are being sold on supermarket shelves,we felt that you needed to know this vital fact.

The secret sauces from the iconic Big Mac, the Fillet-O-Fish and the Mc Chicken will all be available in bottle formula.

The sauces will be available from this spring, but in a devastating turn of events, the sauces are currently only available on the Canadian market.

Despite this upsetting development, we're still seriously appreciating people's Twitter reactions to the news.

People do love that Big Mac sauce, though.

Hopefully the yummy sauces make their way to Ireland, ASAP!
