Kim Kardashian caused quite a stir yesterday with an explosive Twitter rant following a naked selfie she posted to social media but after calming down, she has penned a thoughtful post on her website about the issue.

Celebrating International Women's Day, Kim posted a nude picture to her Instagram which received a certain amount of criticism which she addresses in her post.

"Hey, guys. I wanted to write a post elaborating on my tweets last night. In all seriousness, I never understand why people get so bothered by what other people choose to do with their lives.

"I don't do drugs, I hardly drink, I've never committed a crime—and yet I'm a bad role model for being proud of my body?

"It always seems to come back around to my sex tape. Yes, a sex tape that was made 13 years ago. 13 YEARS AGO.

"And people still want to talk about it?!?! I lived through the embarrassment and fear, and decided to say who cares, do better, move on. I shouldn't have to constantly be on the defence, listing off my accomplishments just to prove that I am more than something that happened 13 years ago. Let's move on, already. I have.

"I am empowered by my body. I am empowered by my sexuality. I am empowered by feeling comfortable in my skin. I am empowered by showing the world my flaws and not being afraid of what anyone is going to say about me.

"And I hope that through this platform I have been given, I can encourage the same empowerment for girls and women all over the world.

"It's 2016. The body-shaming and slut-shaming—it's like, enough is enough. I will not live my life dictated by the issues you have with my sexuality. You be you and let me be me.

"I am a mother. I am a wife, a sister, a daughter, an entrepreneur and I am allowed to be sexy."

Meanwhile, many celebs have come out to support the star and her decisions following the initial backlash:

Legendary music producer, often nicknamed as 'the 5th member of the Beatles', Sir George Martin has died today at the age of 90.

Beatles drummer, Ringo Starr, took to Twitter to confirm the news this morning writing: "God bless George Martin peace and love to Judy and his family love Ringo and Barbara George will be missed xxx."

The infamous producer boldly signed the Beatles after hearing a rough demo in 1962, despite label Parlophone Records being focused mainly on comedy and jazz at the time.

George went on to hone the sound of the group and produced nearly all their songs.

The father-of-four became an influential name in the music business with his career spanning over sixty years, 30 number one songs to his name in the UK and 23 in the US.

Stars have taken to Twitter today to honour the producer:

We didn't expect a Disney star to chime in on the feud Kim Kardashian is having with… well, everyone.

Bella Thorne is now the millionth celeb to be involved with Kim's naked selfie and has decided to vent her feelings on the recent debate – but she actually might be the only one that has a point.

The 18-year-old took to Twitter to call out Kim and Chloe Moretz: "I think every woman should be allowed to make their own choices with their OWN bodies soo..

"-and it's not our place to tell them what they can and can't do with their body.. #internationalwomensday."

See? She does have a point. Not that we're all for Kim showing us things that we don't need to see but, each to their own we guess.

We all hateee cleaning make-up brushes, and unless you're mega into beauty, it's safe to say that most of us actually don't wash our brushes and just buy new ones after a while (we know, we're committing a sin).

BUT this new lovely piece of technology has just come on the market and it's a total game changer.

No longer will you have to manually wash your brushes and wait (ages) for them to dry, oh no, this beaut cleans and dries your brushes in under 30 seconds. Sweet.

The idea is the brainchild of Tom Pellereau (a former Apprentice star) and it really is a dream come true.

It'll set you back around €64 but if you want super clean brushes for super fresh skin, then we think it's worth it.

Well, we didn't expect this to come out today.

Liam Payne just totally gushed about his lady of the moment Cheryl V-F.

The boyband star shared a selfie of his woman along with the caption: "Happy #internationalwomensday to my favourite woman in the world. Hope I make you as happy as you make me."

GAAHH.

There has been so many rumours of late about these two, whether the romance is just for the camera or whether they really are an item.

Well this pretty much proves they are indeed an item. Sorry ladies, Liam is officially taken. And sorry Jean Bernard, it looks like Chezza is no longer your wife.

As Summer is nearly here (cold weather, please go away) so is the new plus size range from River Island – and you will not be disappointed.

River Island Plus is donning trends just as fab as any range with lots of aztec prints, coral and peachy hues as well as super slick night-time dresses.

Here, we pick our fave looks and what we think is going to be major this Spring/Summer:

Date night

If you really want to be fun and flirty on a night out – this dress is for you. It cinches in at the waist to show off your curves and as well as that, the slip underneath cuts off above the knees, giving the look a really sexy feel.

Shopping with the girls

Aztec print is very in this season and this two piece is one of the best we've seen. You'll be covered up enough on those chilly winter evenings, yet the bright print is really chilled and laid back for a day of shopping with friends.

Work wear at its best

No clue what to wear to the office when the weather heats up? This is perfect. There's enough coverage yet it's light and crisp so you won't be sweltering in your warm office. Happy days, ladies.

Wedding outfit

How gorgeous is this dress? We're totally in love. It has an array of colours in it too so it's easy to mix and match with accessories. You'll be the best dressed wedding guest.

River Island plus is available for store order now.

If you're the type to take pictures of your food before you eat it (go on, you know you've done it once or twice) then you're food could actually turn out tastier.

We all know Instagram is filled with #foodporn shots, but science has actually proved that it's better to take a sneaky shot before eating it.

According to the Journal of Consumer Marketing, the time you take to snap your picture provides a momentary pause in consumption which "increases the savouring associated with consumption of pleasurable foods."

So basically, if you take a photo of your food, it (obvs) takes longer to start eating it. Therefore, you'll want it more and your brain will trick you into thinking it's tastier than it actually is.

New York Magazine reports that the research was revolved around three different studies which involved 120 participants.

Ah, that's good enough for us. Get grammin' people.

It’s International Women’s Day today, and what better time to celebrate being a woman?

Instead of focusing on the negatives of inequality and gender imbalance, we wanted to take today to focus on all the positives that come with being a woman.

Here are a few that came to mind…

We’re better learners
Women tend to have a better approach to expanding our minds. Research shows we’re also more flexible, attentive and organised, which all make for better learning abilities. This makes sense when you consider that girlsachieve better grades in all subjects all over the world according to a global meta-analysis by the American Psychological Association. Which brings us to our next point…

We’re more likely to graduate
In recent years, the gender balance in third-level education has shifted. As of 2013, over half of women aged 25-34 had a third-level degree, compared to just over 40% of their male counterparts. We’ve come a long way from not even being allowed to attend third-level education. The first female college students in Ireland weren’t admitted until 1885, and the first female professor was appointed just over 100 years ago, in 1910.

We have stronger immune systems
We can thank our oestrogen for this one. The mostly female hormone is said to confront a particular enzyme that hinders our body’s first line of defence against infections and viruses. With our hormones protecting our own defences, we’re free to recover from sickness much more quickly.

food weird amy poehler tina fey healthy

We’re less impulsive (yes, that’s a good thing)
Aside from the obvious testosterone levels, which tend to make men more aggressive and impulsive, women’s secret weapon of oestrogen, once again, protects us from making rash decisions. Well, unless shoes/chocolate/50% off sales are involved…

We’re better in job interviews
Sometimes it can feel like women suffer at the hands of inequality when it comes to jobs, interviews and the career ladder in general. However, research shows that women actually fare better in job interviews than men, as well as being able to handle the stress that comes along with it. Speaking of women in jobs, an Ibec report released today shows that companies that have proper gender balance are more profitable. Ka-ching.

We’re brilliant communicators
This one probably comes as no surprise, especially when you consider that women speak a lot more than men in general. Studies have shown that women say an average of 20,000 words per day – that’s more than double the amount that men say.

It’s true – women really ARE better at multi-tasking
Women have been shown to have stronger memory systems and better concentration than men, meaning we can handle more than one task at once. If you’re reading this while simultaneously planning Saturday’s night out in your WhatsApp group, thinking about what to make for dinner and fending off emails from your boss, you’ll know what we’re talking about.

We get genuine pleasure from chocolate
Okay, not always a good thing when you’re hoping to drop five pounds by the summer, but just take a minute to appreciate what it must be like to get no comfort or pleasure from a piece of chocolate. Think about all those bad days or sluggish afternoons in work, or even a bad breakup, when some of the best comfort came from a massive bar of Cadbury. Women’s serotonin levels are higher and more sensitive than men’s, meaning we genuinely feel a heightened sense of warmth, calmness and comfort when indulging in chocolate. This pleasure doesn’t tend to come for men.

And the big one – we live longer
According to a New England Centenarian Study, 85% of those over the age of 100 in the world are women. In general, women tend to live 5-10 years longer than men. Sorry, lads.

Pink flamingos, disco balls, super-sound staff and EPIC nail art… there's a reason South William St salon Tropical Popical is fast becoming a Dublin staple.

When we're not lusting over their Instagram page (or eyeing up the tees from their new Tropical Popical Shopical range), we're sneakily plotting how we can just move in without anyone noticing.

Here are just a few of the reasons Tropical Popical is our go-to…

1. Lilt from a coconut cup is served up as standard
Forget the nails, we're already happy out with that.

2. Want Craig David-themed nails? No biggie.
What's that? Oh, just Craig's perfect likeness on my thumb nail.

Anyone else sweating for @craigdavid tonight? @aislinnellen is!!! #CraigDavid by @glamglamniamh

3. Tropical fruit nails? Yup, they've got you covered.

4. The staff there are gas tickets
We want to work there, please.

5. You can now buy all kinds of Tropical Popical merch from their online shop
Flip-flops, amazing tees (like this one for €30) and fluro jewellery: need, need and need. Shop the whole range here.

6. Oscar-nominated Saoirse Ronan is their number one fan
As she repeatedly told Ellen DeGeneres recently.

7. And the Lord Mayor of Dublin can't get enough of them either
She was contacted directly by a VERY happy customer.

Basically, we just want to move in.

Check out the salon for yourself by booking at hello@tropicalpopical.com, and head to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for all kinds of manicure madness.

Plus, feast your eyes on the Tropical Popical Shopical range on their website here.

Have the Kardashian family officially gone into meltdown mode? First Kanye freaks out (many, many times) on Twitter, then yesterday his wife, Kimmy K started off, blasting other celebs and now Kylie has gone on a rant of her own. Oh, and don't forget about Scott with his grossly inappropriate comment on Kourtney's pic yesterday.

The youngest sister noticed someone commenting about her bodyguard and her money, so she blasted them, saying she doesn't give a f**k about them.

She then proceeded to share "good vibes" – much like her brother-in-law Kanye tweets after one of his rants.

But she didn't stop there. Nope, since Kim was getting a lot of hate for her nude selfies, Kylie decided to take her sister's side and declare she is a "legend."

We're guessing Kourtney or Khloe is next. Watch this space.

The Kardashian's hair stylist is having a bit of a moment lately. Not only does she glamour-up the reality family, she is also the stylist for Emma Stone, Katy Perry and Sofia Vergara.

And now, she's added another famous client onto her list; Barbie.

Yep, Jen teamed up with the super famous doll and totally upgraded her look.

She first went for a long slicked-back ponytail and the second look is a long bob that many celebs are sporting at the moment.

We are totally crushing on the two hairstyles right now. If only Jen could come to Ireland and upgrade our gruaige.

In perhaps the greatest news to hit our ears ever, Boyzone and Westlife are being reincarnated as Boyzlife and two of our fave members from each band are tied to the project.

Brian McFadden and Keith Duffy have confirmed a Boyzlife tour which will involve performing some of the original groups' greatest hits.

The tour, which is being funded by the Hilton hotel group, launched today in London and the lads seemed excited about the venture.

While there is reportedly potential for other members of the original bands to join, Brian admitted that for now it would involved just two of the lads.

"People are getting confused thinking that with Boyzlife we have started a new supergroup together.

"But this is me and Keith's show. It's called Boyzlife. There's nothing to stop the rest of the guys pairing up and doing it, but for us this was our way."

The pair revealed that the show will involve performing hits from both groups but also chatting to the audience about their lives and careers to date.

Sign us up!

The lads are kicking off their tour in London on October 16 before doing 11 more gigs around Ireland.
