It's official: the nation is basking in glorious sunshine the likes of which have not been seen in a decade-and-a-half.

And for a country that digs out sandals and shorts as soon as the thermostat reaches 18C, we reckon the Emerald Isle will positively lose the run of itself tomorrow.

That's because – as now confirmed by RTÉ's Joanna Donnelly – things are about to get yer-on-yer-hollliers-in-Spain hot.

Taking to Twitter, the meteorologist said today: "In 14 years I've never seen a 30 on a chart."

Also including a snap of a roasting-looking Ireland: "We're going to 28 tomorrow," referring to Met Éireann's Dublin HQ.

It's a tweet that has proven immensely popular – notching up some 625 retweets and 470 likes.

Furthermore, Joanna's twitter handle has been flooded with snaps of car dashboards already displaying the magic 30C+ symbol.

Understandably, the hashtag #heatwave is already trending strongly in Ireland.

If you’re a disaster at doing your nails, you’ll probably have thought what a dream it would be if spray on nail polish would hurry up and enter your life.

Well, thanks to British brand Nails Inc, that dream is now a reality as they have developed little spray cans full of polish for applying colour to your nails.

And that's not all, makeup guru Lottie Tomlinson has collaborated with Nails Inc to make a molten gold spray on shade called Good as Gold for the world’s first spray on nail varnish creator's Paint Can collection.

The 17-year-old Instagram star began her beauty career while assisting One Direction's makeup artist Lou Teasdale on the band's live tour and has since gone on to earn herself a rather impressive fan base.

Lottie says she choose the Good as Gold shade because it compliments her neutral brown summer makeup looks and can be used on top of another nail colour or acrylic nails.

So, how does spray on nail varnish work?  Well firstly you must apply Paint Can’s Best Friend 2 in 1 Mini Base & Top coat and allow to dry.  According to those in the know, this step is not optional.

Once the base is dry, hold the can 10-15cm away from your nails and spray in short sharp bursts.  Be careful to cover whatever might be behind your hands at time of spraying so everything doesn’t end up looking like it’s made of gold.

Next use warm soapy water to remove any excess product from your skin and finish by applying a top coat.  It's that simple!

Nails Inc x Lottie Tomlinson Good as Gold Paint Can is currently available online and will be launch in store from July 21st for €12.  Paint Can’s Best Friend 2 in 1 Mini Base & Top coat retails at €10.

A few hours after Kim Kardashian decided to break the internet (for the umpteenth time) last night, her younger sister, Khloé, added to the drama by taking aim at one of the industry's most respected young actresses right now.

After appearing to suggest that the Swift/ West feud was inconsequential in the grand scheme of things (How dare she?!) Chloe Moretz felt the sharp end of Khloé's humour when she was confronted with an image of a young woman which Khloé suggested was the Kick-Ass actress.

Understandably stunned that Khloé would hit back in such a harsh way, Twitter users and celebrities took it upon themselves to call the reality star out on her retort.

Branded a bully by many, Khloé took to Twitter this afternoon to fight her corner and justify her earlier post, writing: "I’m the last person to bully but have an animal instinct to protect and defend my family."

"Refrain from commenting on my family and OUR business (and I will do the same)," she tweeted before adding: "Now I hope everyone has a magical Monday! May peace be with you all."

Unfortunately for Khloé, social media users were having none of her defence, and wasted no time highlighting the inconsistencies of her argument.

"Your family is in the limelight, people comment on your day to day life. Don't be so public with it and people won't comment," advised one.

"Anyone can comment when all your families business is public," added another while someone else remarked: "So you post a girl's ass crack to defend your family?"

"Your family makes their life public, people are gonna say stuff but they also shouldn't get butthurt," argued another.

Indeed.

There are some celebrity couples – who shall remain nameless – who only have to post one tribute to each other to have social media reaching for its sick bucket, and then there's Chrissy Teigen and John Legend.

While we'd happily watch them read the phone book to one another, we're even more pumped when they get all gushy about one another. (It's just our thing, don't judge us.)

Taking to Instagram yesterday, Chrissy hit everyone in the feels when she shared a shot of herself and John chilling out in Lake Como, writing: "Back to where it all began – Lake Como, Italy – first came here in 2007."

"A boat tour guide took us to a little spot on the lake and told us to make a wish," Chrissy wrote in a post which has racked up a staggering 455,000 likes.

"I asked for this to be the man I marry and have children with," she confessed. "I think John asked for the most perfect bite of cacio e pepe.  Both came true, and here we are."

We don't know whether it's because she can make us laugh and cry at the same time, or because we just want to BE her, but props to Chrissy for that one.

We're in bits over here.

When it comes to warm weather, we're a seriously contrary bunch.

While desperately wishing for a glimpse of sunlight from one end of the year to the next, we generally don't know what to do with ourselves when it finally arrives.

And with a heatwave currently sweeping Ireland and the UK, people have taken to social media in their droves to share their experience of this unexpected turn in fortune.

These people speak to us on an emotional level.

1. She gets us

2. He knows what's up

3. He obviously caught our Facebook update this morning

4. He might just be done with it already

5. He's right you know

6. He took one for the team

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have finally wrapped up the smoothest celebrity marital breakup of all time as the pair are now officially divorced.

People magazine has reported that the pair of conscious uncouplers reached a divorce settlement back in May and on Thursday had their divorce finalised by an LA judge.

Two years after they first announced their split, the former couple have made a written agreement regarding their property and child support and have decided that neither of them will ever receive spousal support from the other.

The Coldplay frontman and lifestyle guru were married for 10 years and have remained close despite their breakup for the sake of their two children Apple and Moses.

During a recent interview in Cannes, Gwyneth admitted that while their split had been “difficult” she is glad they have managed to work together for their kids.

She said: "As anybody who has been divorced knows, you have to put a lot aside to maintain the family and the practicalities of what that might mean and sometimes that's quite tough on a personal level."

When a trend hits as hard and as fast as Pokémon Go did, it's inevitable you'll find as many people irritated by it as you will enthused by it.

And while there's something admittedly adorable about watching people bump into one another in public as they desperately search for Squirtle, some people have had enough of the whole damn thing, and aren't afraid to say it.

Irritated by the sheer number of people who have strayed onto his property in the hopes of catching a Pokémon, one Canadian homeowner has shared a few home truths with those responsible, and the internet is all over it.

View post on imgur.com

"Get a life and stay out of my yard," he began on a sign which he initially left in front of his house but which ultimately made its way onto Imgur. "This whole Pokemon hunt is by far the stupidest thing I have ever seen,"

And in hammering home his point, he confirmed that he has lived through some seriously questionable times including Crystal Pepsi, the Macarena and ten seasons of CSI: Miami.

"There is a bar up the street and around the corner," he advised. "Go there, have a beer, and seriously think about your life choices."

You heard the man…

If you’ve ever been doing your foundation and accidentally applied one layer too many, you’ll know what it’s like to feel caked in makeup.

But a Swedish beauty blogger who YouTubes under the name Jeely has decided to take that experience to the extreme by applying 100 layers of foundation to her own face.

According to The Daily Mail, Josefin Lillakas spent three hours applying the drug store product with a beauty blender which eventually left her looking like she was wearing some form of greasy mask.

Naturally Josefin filmed the process for YouTube and in the video description she very honestly describes the experience as “craycray” and “messy af”.

Throughout the clip – which has been viewed over 175,000 times since it was uploaded last Thursday – she jokes that “at least it’s full coverage” and asks “am I flawless yet?”

She is also seen blow-drying her face at multiple stages during the process in an attempt to dry her makeup–laden face.

Josefin has previously applied one hundred layers of mascara to her lashes which leaves us wondering what her next 100 layer challenge will be.

We image the likes of Tom Fletcher having oh-so cool birthday bashes involving a chic nightclub, bottles of champagne and vodka, and an after-party in a five-star hotel suite.

But nope – it seems when the dad-of-two marked his 31st bday over the weekend, he did so in a spectacularly low-key fashion.

Me and Buzz are having a shoe off.

Indeed, and as revealed on Instagram, the celebrations looked delightfully worlds away from his celebrity status.

Standing with his two-year-old son Buzz hanging from his t-shirt (major swoon all the same), Tom can be seen holding up a balloon in his left hand, and a home-made card in his right.

Woke up to a poop on the living room floor and a pee on the bathroom floor. Happy Birthday to me…

A photo posted by TomFletcher (@tomfletcher) on

In the background, the glorious weekend mayhem of family-life is in clear view: oodles of coloured toys, puzzles and games and are strewn around the vicinity.

Better still, Mr Fletcher reveals in the accompanying caption that his birthday 'presents' included "a poop on the living room floor and a pee on the bathroom floor".

Still, his loyal fans didn't seem to mind – the Instagram snap was soon flooded with hearty best wishes and birthday congratulations.

As well as toddler Buzz, Tom and his wife of four years, Giovanna, have a five-month old son, Buddy.

Yesterday, the musician added a further snap of Buzz to his Instagram page. The touching black-and-white snap shows the child playing with a toy car. "Love watching my boy use his imagination," he wrote.

And this morning, Mr Fletcher revealed that he and his eldest son had on complementing footwear.

Me and Buzz are having a shoe-off," he wrote alongside a snap showing the elder Fletcher in Mickey Mouse slip-ons, and the little boy in corresponding Super Mario runners.

In May of this year, Dublin Zoo lost Harry the silverback gorilla – one of its longest standing and most popular residents – after he suffered a sudden stroke.

For the thousands who mourned the animal, it will come as some consolation to learn that a baby gorilla which Harry fathered was delivered safely on Saturday morning.

Commenting on the zoo's newest arrival, Helen Clarke-Bennett, leader of the animal care team responsible for the gorillas, said: "We are absolutely thrilled with the birth of the baby gorilla."

"It has been a sad time for the team after Harry’s death and this has really put a smile on everyone’s face," Helen revealed. "Big brother Kituba is taking a keen interest in the new arrival and the rest of the troop has reacted very well."

"The youngster is doing very well and is very bright and alert," she added. "Within minutes the baby was feeding from mum Lena which is a very good sign.”

The gorilla's mother, Lena, has yet to reveal the gender of the new arrival as she is insisting on keeping the newborn close to her chest for now.

"Lena is a great mother and so far she hasn’t let go of her newborn," Helen explained. "She will continue to cradle the baby in her arms non-stop for the next two to three months."

"When she does eventually let the toddler out of her arms to explore, the youngster won’t go far because Lena will not allow the baby go more than an arms length away."

This is the seventh infant for 32-year-old Lena, and the arrival signals a much-needed boost for the gorilla troop at Dublin Zoo following Harry's sad passing at the start of the summer.

Ellen Degeneres is like the aunty who makes everyone feel safe, warm and loved, so it's no real surprise that Taylor Swift has her sights set on Ellen's couch for her first interview alongside new boyfriend Tom Hiddleston.

With media outlets falling on Tay and Tom's burgeoning romance – and the cynicism that surrounds it –  with glee in recent weeks, it seems the couple are determined to set the record straight, and who better to help with that than Hollywood's soundest chat show host?

According to The Daily Star, a source has claimed that the Shake It Off singer thinks an interview with Ellen would not only boost the couple's profile in a positive manner, but also help silence their critics.

"The simple truth is that Taylor is in love and, as well as showing off her new man to her fans, she feels a friendly interviewer like Ellen could really help boost their standing as as power couple, as well as Tom's Hollywood career."

"Taylor is already the highest paid star in the industry, and Tom's acting career is on a massive upward trajectory," they added when outlining Taylor's rationale for wanting to lay everything bare for the viewing public.

But whether Taylor's plans will come to fruition in the near future remains to be seen as she's currently focussing on defending herself against considerable criticism following today's leaked footage of her conversation with Kanye West,

That girl is putting out fires all over the place these days.
