If you’ve ever been in a changing room with dodgy lighting or a bad mirror, you’ll know it’s nearly impossible to get a proper look at what you’re wearing.  So can you imagine what it would be like if the dreaded dressing room contained no mirrors at all?

A selection of UK shopping centres have decided to ban mirrors from their changing rooms as part of a random attempt to increase the body confidence levels of their shoppers.

According to Marie Claire, stores in Birmingham, Bristol and Croydon were inspired to enforce a mirror ban because a “bikini season” survey found that 71 percent of British women don’t feeling confident buying a new outfit once they’ve had a look at themselves in the changing room mirror.

Additionally, 22 percent of the women surveyed admitted they would rather get a friend or family member’s opinion on a look than to rely on their own reflection.

Not only was this week-long campaign bound to be a major inconvenience to anyone who actually shops to buy clothes, it was also a bit sexist as the mirror hiding plan only applied to the centres' female changing rooms because, as you know, men couldn’t possibly suffer from body image issues.

According to The Sun, the regional marketing manager of the malls involved said: “We want to ensure that everyone feels comfortable and confident when trying on clothes, so that’s why we’re trialling banning the mirrors.”

“We hope that women in particular will try something on and feel gorgeous and glamorous. Hopefully this will be a success and we can roll it out across our shopping centres for the summer.”

If this comes in to Ireland, we’ll have to consider heading Stateside.

With half of Hollywood consumed by the latest instalment in the Kardashian/Swift feud, it was only a matter of time before reality star couple, Heidi and Spencer Pratt, decided to grab a little air-time by weighing in on the discussion.

No stranger to high-profile spats, the couple, who made a name for themselves on MTV's The Hills, offered an analysis of that now infamous phone call, and suggested that Taylor may have felt backed into a corner by the Life of Pablo star.

"I think she played it a little too cool, she was too nice," opined Heidi. "Even if there was more of that phone conversation, it doesn't matter. She wasn't clearly communicating one point."

While Taylor was undoubtedly cool with the lyric which suggests she and Kanye may still hook up but outraged by the use of the word 'b*tch', Heidi admitted she didn't understand Tay's take on that one.

Referring to the line about having sex with Taylor, Heidi said: "That would have disturbed me. Who cares about the B-word? I don't owe you anything."

According to Cosmopolitan, Spencer thinks the leaked footage gave an insight into the real T-Swizzle as opposed to the media-trained Grammy Award-winner we're all used to.

"This is the most I've heard Taylor maybe be the real Taylor, where she's talking about being on the red carpet, how she's gonna talk to the media, spinning her pitch… I think Taylor should've been on the cover of Forbes," he said.

Expressing concern for Taylor's new bae, Spencer suggest that the British star wasn't ready for the unstoppable machine that is the Kardashian dynasty.

"He signed up just to take out Calvin Harris. I don't think he was ready to go against Kim, Kanye, and Khloé Kardashian."

Hmmm, we might be with him on that one…

This week has seen two of the hottest days of the year so far, and while the public – both in Ireland and the UK – were facing into a week of nonstop chafing only made better by the promise of office ice creams, one store in the UK was busy preparing for the festive season.

With five months to go until we can officially say the Christmas season is upon us, a branch of Sainsburys in East Dulwich hedged their bets in the hopes some wily shoppers might use the hottest day of the year to do a spot of Christmas shopping.

Taking to Twitter to draw attention to the grocery giant's seasonal slip-up, Nigel Hall shared a snap of a shelf of milk-chocolate Toblerones festooned with miniature Christmas trees.

"Yes, on the hottest day of the year @Sainsburys has got Christmas stock in," he wrote in a tweet which has hit headlines this week.

With social media users wasting no time calling the retailer out on their festive eff-up, a spokesperson for Sainsbury commented on the matter, saying: "We’re looking into how this stock got onto our shelves in the middle of Summer."

And in a move which any lover of Dad jokes would appreciate they finished by insisting: "We appreciate it’s snow joke and will find out from our supplier whether they Noel more."

Oh, you guys!

If you come across any Christmas merchandise this summer, take a snap and email it to hello@shemazing.ie

After acting as the hottest bridesmaid on the planet for her sister during the Royal wedding in April 2011, everyone assumed that Kate Middleton would be returning the favour following her younger sister, Pippa's engagement this week.

But if you – like millions others – had your heart set on another sisterly set-up for the second Middleton wedding, you're about to be sorely disappointed.

According to emerging reports, Kate's global profile means that it's unlikely she will act as maid of honour for her younger sister for fear of upstaging the bride on her big day.

Speaking to People magazine, author and royal correspondent, Judy Wade, suggested that Kate's royal status could cause problems, saying: "Kate would upstage her sister. It's a tricky situation for Pippa."

"She would want her sister by her sister, as who else would she trust to make things go well?" she continued.

And yet, the royal correspondent seemed fairly certain that despite their incredibly close bond, Kate would be determined to shy away from the limelight when her sister ties the knot with hedge fund manager, James Matthews, next year.

"But if your sister is a future Queen, she is going to upstage the bride and draw attention," Judy explained. "Kate would want to be in the background as much as possible."

Aw, this is not the latest instalment we expected of the Middleton / Matthews engagement story.

European fans of LA-based band, HAIM, were left stunned last night when they announced that they would be cancelling all their European concerts over the summer.

In a handwritten note which was posted on their official Facebook page, the three sisters apologised for disappointing their fans, but insisted that their recording was at a 'critical point', and travelling to Europe was no longer an option.

"We'd hoped to be done with recording but as it turns out, we're at a critical point of finishing up and need to stay close to home until it's complete," they began in a post which has sparked serious debate online.

"Unfortunately, we need to cancel our European performances including Way Out West, Tivoli, Oya, Frequency, Krakow, Zurich Openair, Reading and Leeds, and Electric Picnic," they continued,

"We hate to disappoint you guys that had plans to come see us and promise we'll be back in the near future to share our new music with you," they finished before signing off with just their initials.

The band, which is comprised of siblings Este, Danielle and Alana, were met with furious backlash from their European fanbase who slammed the Days Are Gone singers for poor planning.

"Second album, second time you do the same thing for the exact same reason," wrote one. "The new songs sound great, but you're not a garage band anymore. Plan your moves better, guys."

"Absolute d*cks," began another. "Cancelling all European tour dates after people have bought tickets for festivals and gigs to see you guessing a lot of them won't be buying the next album."

In fairness though…

There's no denying that the Kardashian-West/ Swift feud – which has been bubbling under the surface for years, but officially kicked off on Sunday night – has become somewhat of a soap opera.

From daily plot twists to unexpected cameos, the public – whether they want it or not – have been drip-fed new information every day since Kim Kardashian indirectly initiated the TaylorSwiftIsOverParty.

And despite the press, public and fans weighing in from all corners, we had yet to get an insight into what finally pushed Kim over edge, and compelled her to leak that footage… until now, that is.

According to a source who spoke to Us Weekly, Taylor's Grammy speech where she appeared to throw shade at Kanye was the last straw for his furious wife.

"There are going to be people along the way who try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame" and "if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people side track you, someday when you get where you’re going," Taylor urged her audience at the time.

Furious that the Shake It Off singer was blasting her husband publicly, Kim decided to take action.

"They wouldn't have released that tape had she not dedicated her Grammys speech to bashing Kanye for something she was aware of," the insider revealed.

"Kim is glad that the truth is out there. Kim was sick of it for them, for their kids, for everyone who believes in them, and she was not going to let people take Kanye down," they continued.

But if you were hoping for a sequel in this saga, you'll likely be disappointed if Kimye have anything to do with it.

"Kim and Kanye hope that one day they can make up with Taylor," the insider confirmed. "They aren't interested in having this beef."

Hmmm, they mightn't be…but Taylor might…

Over the past few months One Direction star Louis Tomlinson has shared a number of special father-son moments with his fans, but a new clip of him speaking to Mel B is probably the sweetest thing to come out yet.

During his recent stint on the America’s Got Talent guest judging panel, the 24-year-old singer was caught telling the former Spice Girl how much he loves being a dad in what appears to be a candid moment.

Sitting with a huge smile on his face, Louis can be heard telling Mel: “I didn’t think I’d be having a kid at this stage, but it is incredible.”  And judging by his beaming expression, it is clear Louis means every word.

Louis' first child Freddie Reign was born in January this year and although the star has admitted that fatherhood did come as a bit of a surprise to him, he has since shown a great deal of dedication to his son.

Late last month it was reported that Louis has filed for 50/50 custody of the infant because his ex Briana Jungwirth has apparently been restricting the level of access he has to his son.

Today’s women are probably most familiar with the itty bitty bikini type of swimwear which can now be spotted on any beach around the world.  But can you imagine what people wore for a dip back in 1916?

Well, a new video demonstrates every decade of swimming style from 1916 right up until today but rather than using a wardrobe of vintage suits to showcase the changes, the innovative people at Mode decided to use body paint instead.

According to Elle, each swimsuit took between 60 and 90 minutes to apply but thankfully those ten plus hours of labour have been handily reduced into a great little three minute clip.

Adele might be flat out working on her American tour right now, but that doesn’t mean the singing sensation will be taking a break anytime soon.

According to The Irish Mirror, the British hit-maker is reportedly planning to use her upcoming two week holiday to film scenes for a new Hollywood blockbuster.

The 28-year-old star is rumoured to have earned herself a small role in The Death and Life of John F Donovan, a movie which is to be directed by Xavier Dolan – who previously directed Adele’s Hello video – and will star Natalie Portman and Game of Thrones actor Kit Harington.

The Help actress Jessica Chastain and Oscar winner Susan Sarandon are also believed to be involved in the project.

A source told The Daily Star: “Adele doesn't want to be a full-time actress, but she enjoyed working with Dolan and he thought she could bring a lot to the screen.”

While Adele’s acting debut has yet to be confirmed by her team, we’re already excited by the possibility that she could be set for big screen glory.

Between smashing her current Revival tour and becoming the proud owner of the most liked photo on Instagram, it’s happy days for Selena Gomez.

And it seems those at camp Gomez are getting in on the good vibes as the star’s makeup artist Melissa Murdick has released a new makeup tutorial in which she demonstrates one of the singer’s best Revival looks.

The informative video was posted to the Revival Tour Instagram account this evening and explains to viewers how they can recreate Selena’s copper smoky eye.

The step-by-step clip states that you should apply a medium copper eyeshadow to the lid and into the crease of the eye in an elongated shape, before applying a deeper shade to the outer corner and inner crease.

Melissa then applies a thin line of black liquid liner along the lash line.  She explains that for extra drama false lashes can also be added at this stage.

The celebrity MUA then advises viewers to add definition to the eye by applying a brown shadow below the lower lash line and finish the look by filling in the brows.  Ladies, it’s that simple.

Sharon Osbourne has added her name to the long list of celebrities weighing in on Taylor Swift’s never-ending feud with Kim Kardashian and her rap star husband Kanye West.

Speaking on US chat show The Talk today, Sharon advised Taylor to forget pursuing legal action and move on from the drama as best she can.

The X Factor judge told her co-hosts: “I think that Taylor should go back to what she does best, writing her songs, recording.”

“Forget – it's got to stop. The whole thing with Taylor Swift and Kanye West and now the Kardashians are coming in, it's ugly.”

According to The Express, the 63-year-old reality star advised Taylor to “rise above” the drama and go do her own thing, before openly describing Kanye West a “bully”.

She said:  "It would be so bad for her [Taylor] if she does take this to the next stage. Just let it go. Everybody knows that he [Kanye] is a bully."

The infamous battle of the stars was reignited earlier this week when Kim used Snapchat to air a recorded conversation between Taylor and Kanye for the world in what seems to be proof that the Bad Blood singer did approve Kanye’s controversial Famous lyrics.

In the song the Yeezy designer said he and Taylor “might still have sex” and claimed he “made that b*tch famous”.

Given all that’s gone on, we think Sharon’s advice is actually pretty damn sensible.
