You know the way people say everything is "bigger and better" in America? Well, this may actually be true when it comes to Christmas decorations.

Dyker Heights is an area in Brooklyn, New York… and it is literally a BEACON of Christmassy joy!

Over 100,000 people flock to this area each year to see the most over-the-top decoration displays ever, and we are obsessed. 

The tradition started in 1984, and more homes have followed suit every year since.

According to Business Insider,  local police block off some of the streets at night to allow tourists to stroll through the area with ease.

We can't help but wonder how much these glorious humans spend on electricity!

Regardless of the cost, these homes are SUPER impressive.

So ladies, what's covered in 24,274 crystals and costs $30,000?

If you went out on a limb and guessed the world's most expensive Christmas jumper, you'd be dead right (good for you).

In a collaboration which has most of us scratching our heads here this morning, Christmas clothing brand, Tipsy Elves, and crystal brand, Swarovski, have created a festive jumper which would set you back the equivalent of four year's rent. (But who's counting?)

The 'World's Most Expensive Ugly Christmas Sweater' (Yeah, they legitimately christened it that) took a staggering 52 hours to create.

And it can be all yours if you, you know, decide to take leave of your senses.

Form an orderly queue, ladies.

A staunch Hillary Clinton supporter, John Legend was understandably unimpressed by Kanye West's decision to meet with President-Elect Donald Trump in recent days.

The unprecedented meeting, which made headlines around the world, didn't sit easy with the All Of Me singer who questioned both parties' motivation.

Speaking to French media outlet Clique, John feared his long-time friend and colleague had been used by the Trump camp, saying: "I don't think it's impossible to talk to him about issues, but I won't be used as a publicity stunt."

"I think Kanye was a publicity stunt," he said when asked about the meeting which has apparently accelerated Kanye's future presidential bid.

While John was reluctant to discuss Kanye's recent hospitalisation out of respect for the father-of-two, he didn't adopt the same approach when it came to Kanye's political stance.

"I'm pretty disappointed with Kanye that he says he would have voted for Trump. I think Trump has been corrosive, his message has been corrosive to the country."

"I think the things he has promised to do have been very concerning for a lot of people, and for Kanye to support that message is very disappointing." John added.

Fair enough.

He’s had his fair share of ups and downs this year, following the controversy at the Rio Olympics, but US swimmer Ryan Lochte is ending 2016 on a joyful note.

The star took to his social media channels to announce that he and girlfriend Kayla Reid are expecting their first child together.

The parents-to-be chose the perfect way to share the news, too – underwater, from the depths of the swimming pool!

“My Christmas gift came early this year, can’t wait for next year! Best news I’ve ever received,” wrote the 32-year-old.

Over on her Insta, Kayla added: “Just when you think you have it all figured out, life always surprises you with blessings when you least expect it. So excited to share this news with all of you!”

The fancy photo shoot attracted plenty of attention across social media, and the messages of congratulations have been pouring in over the past 12 hours.

“How exciting! So happy for you,” wrote one follower, while many others branded the images ‘amazing’ and ‘cute’.

What a great way for the happy couple to kick off the holidays!

Bella Hadid just achieved a major modelling milestone by storming the catwalk at the Victoria's Secret fashion show.

While we're sure modelling will always be her first love, the model is swapping out her angel wings for a sketch pad and sewing needle, as she just revealed her plans to move into fashion design.

The famous model's first foray into design comes in the form of a collaborative collection with fashion house Chrome Hearts.

Taking to Instagram to announce her next business move, the model added a snap of herself in a stylised t-shirt of her own design. 

Captioning the shot, Bella said: "So damn excited ! You have no idea what's coming! My new collection with @chromeheartsofficial designed by me, shot by my angel mother."

We're assuming that the t-shirt will be a trophy piece in the collection, but Bella is currently keeping the other items under wraps. 

With Chrome Hearts being renowned for it's jewellery, we're sure we'll see some statement chokers and Hadid-style stackable rings in the covetable collab.

Here in Ireland, we've been having some pretty weird weather this December.

From balmy warm days to torrential rain and ice, we rely on the weather forecast to tell us if we'll need an umbrella or sunglasses tomorrow. Or both.

According to last night's weather forecast, Galway natives should batten down the hatches and boil a few hot water bottles, as winter has arrived.

According to the forecast, the west coast needs to prepare for the new Ice Age as temperatures drop to -13 degrees in Galway.

However, across the Mayo border things were a more temperate 6 degrees. 

As the traditional saying goes, "you wouldn't be long getting frost bite!"

However, according to weather.com, Galway is currently enjoying a rainy 7 degrees in temperature.

Clearly this was a technical error, otherwise it will be some task battling the elements to get home to Galway for Christmas this year.

Women don't always have time to shave their legs — and frankly, sometimes we just don't want to.

Taking care of body hair is a personal choice, one that actress and singer Bella Thorne was shamed for by online trolls this week. 

One "fan" posted photos of the 19-year-old on Twitter, complimenting her but at the same time slating her for not shaving her legs.

The photos, which have since been deleted, were zoomed in on the star's calves and lower legs to show that she had some body hair there.

The tweet described Bella as “hot beautiful sexy perf” but then said "wtf SHAVE YOUR LEGS.”

The star clapped back at the hater, and replied with an adamant "NEVER," in a tweet that was liked over six thousand times.

Other social media followers were quick to point out that it is a woman's own choice to shave or not to shave, and called the troll out for his "misogeny."

"You guys can walk with legs like that but girls can't? She can do whatever she wants this is not your business," said one.

"Since when is it ok to tell people what they can do with their bodies?" said another.

Chrissy Teigan is renowned for dressing up daughter Luna in adorable ensembles, and posing for a family Christmas picture was no exception.

Baby Luna ticked a first year milestone off the list by meeting Santa for the very first time.

The mum-of-one shared some sweet snaps of the encounter across social media, showing 8-month-old Luna meeting Saint Nick at their local Macy’s department store Santaland.

Unfortunately, they had to fake a self portrait as dad John Legend was in Paris at the time. 

Employing the help of a mystery elf, Luna and Chrissy improvised by posing beside a cardboard cut-out of John's face.

The mum also shared photos of her baby sitting calmly on Santa's lap in a red and black plaid dress. Too cute!

Prince Harry has been out and about quite a bit since details of his romance with American actress Meghan Markle went public. 

However, the couple haven't been seen together since they officially announced their relationship, until now.

The pair were spotted together on Wednesday evening while on a date to see a play in London’s West End, as seen in a photo obtained by The Sun. 

Harry is said to be “besotted” with the 35-year-old actress, who is best known for playing Rachel Zane in Suits.

The two have been committed for about three months, and have previously displayed their commitment by wearing matching bracelets.

Meghan was also spotted wearing a necklace with the gold letters M and H on it.

Meghan – who split with her husband Trevor Engelson in 2013 – and Harry are gearing up for Christmas, as the pair were allegedly spotted purchasing a Christmas tree together this week.

When Kanye West walked out of Trump Tower with Donald himself yesterday, it's safe to say the whole world exhaled a big 'WTF?'.

In the clip which was posted on CNN, Donald says that he and the rapper have been friends for years, yet for the most part, Kanye kept his mouth closed in front of the cameras.

The dad-of-two has been active on social media since the meeting, and as it turns out Donald gave a present to Kanye during their time together.

Taking to Twitter, Mr West shared an image of Trump's TIME magazine cover which Donald signed, "To Kanye, you are a great friend. Thanks," along with his illegible signature.

One Twitter user commented on the pic, "RIP your career."

How weird.
