Fancy an engagement ring to rival Beyoncé or Kim Kardashian? Then you better look at making a move to Cork.

A new survey by Littlewoods Ireland has revealed which parts of Ireland are home to the big (and the small) spenders when it comes to popping the question.

According to the results, the Rebel County is the flashiest with the cash, with more rings costing over €3,500 sold down south than anywhere else. Dublin's not far behind, with couples there believing that eternal love should cost no more than €2,149. As for the other major cities, Galwegians spend an average of €1,449 and Limerick folks €1,199.

Of course, there's always going to be one county on the other end of the spectrum, with Westmeath natives spending an average of €729 on their sparklers. Cavan also lived up to their thrifty stereotype in second lowest place, spending an average of €899 on a ring.

As for the most popular style of ring, us Irish have simple taste – traditional white gold single stone solitaire rings are the most commonly sold type of engagement sparkler. Turns out we're less Kate Middleton and more Lauren Conrad when it comes to our choice of ring:

When it comes to saving and budgeting though, Irish women don't see flashy rings as a priority, placing house deposits and home furnishings far above engagement rings as a financial priority. Wise.

While we'd probably balk if presented with a ring costing hundreds of thousands of Euro, that doesn't mean we don't enjoy the odd "celebrity engagement rings" creep around on Google. Here are a few of our fave (outrageous) celebrity sparklers…

It's been less than two weeks since the news emerged that Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards had called it a day on their relationship.. and their two-year engagement.

Just two months ago the pair had signed the deeds on a lavish new London pad, and the sale of the property is obviously high on their priority list right now.

The pair have put their former love nest back on the market and the luxury house can be yours… if you have a spare €6 million lying around. 

According to Mail Online, Zayn asked Perrie to move her belongings out of the mansion after he dumped her by text and then put the house up for sale. 

The luxury home, once owned by a Premier League football star, has six bedrooms and five bathrooms split across two wings. It also comes equipped with an orangery, kennels, a 25-acre garden and a three-bedroom guest cottage, if you feel like having pals over to stay.

The former couple began house-hunting back in March shortly after Zayn's shock decision to quit One Direction. Sadly their big move didn't last long, and we're sure the house will be snapped up again VERY fast.

Uh-oh, one of social media’s most avid users seems to have gotten herself into some trouble with a recent selfie.

Nope, it wasn’t that nude snap she shared with her 42 million followers yesterday. Instead, it was a photograph in which she discussed the product that has helped her battle her morning sickness that has landed her in hot water.

Kim, 34, is pregnant with her second child and has made no secret of her morning sickness issues both during this pregnancy and when she was pregnant with daughter North.

However, the Food and Drug Administration in the United States has sent the star a warning letter after it appeared that her post was promoting a morning sickness medication called Diclegis.

The FDA have called Kim’s post “false or misleading” and said it “fails to communicate any risk information associated with its use and it omits material facts.”

So does this mean Diclegis is potentially a harmful drug?

ET Online contacted the FDA for comment on the letter and were told the FDA “will not state our intentions regarding Duchesnay” the company which made the drug Kim was promoting.

They did also add:

“The Warning Letter is the company’s notification that we found what appears to be violations to the Federal Food Drug and Cosmetic Act.”

Which means that if they don’t address the issues the FDA have discovered they risk the drug being banned. They explained:

“Companies that do not correct citations in warning letters, or show that those citations are unfounded, risk enforcement action such as seizure.”

In what has to be the best movie news of the year, it has been confirmed that Zac Efron will star in the new Baywatch movie.

Swoon. 

The High School Musical star is said to be "stoked" to be starring in the new flick along with wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. 

Paramount have been keen to get the 1990's hit TV show remade for years, and now that everything is finalised, production will start in early 2016. 

Efron is said to play a rule-flouting youngster who teams up with a straight-laced lifeguard (Jonhson) to save their beach from destruction at the hands of an oil tycoon.

Both actors seem to be pretty excited about the new movie as they bantered on Twitter about it with The Rock joking "someone get my baby oil".

To which Zac replied saying "baby oil for 2 plz". 

It's nice to see the new co-stars getting along so well.

Meanwhile, the High School Musical hunk has been extremely busy having  just finished filming for Mike And Dave Need Wedding Dates with Adam Devine, Anna Kendrick and Aubrey Plaza, as well as working with Robert De Niro on road trip comedy Dirty Grandpa.

Well this should be interesting.

Britney Spears has announced that she’s going to be coming to our TV screens again. This time the pop star will be making an appearance on Jane the Virgin.

The series, called a ‘dramedy’’ by Entertainment Weekly received a Golden Globes awards last year for lead actress Gina Rodriguez.

The second season of the series is set to be a good one after the debut season ended on a serious cliff hanger, fans are definitely curious as to what role Britney will have in the drama.

Gina herself appears to be quite the Britney fan and admitted to having a serious fangirl moment when she heard the news. We don’t blame her.

Showrunner for Jane the Virgin Jennie Snyder Urman said that having Britney join the cast was a “dream come true for us”.

In the past Britney has made appearances in episodes of How I Met Your Mother and Will & Grace. She was also a judge on the American X Factor series. Which was responsible for giving us many amazing GIFs, among other things.

There was also her short-lived reality TV series, which we still wish had lasted at least one episode longer. Does anyone else remember Britney & Kevin: Chaotic? That was a major player in television history.

Britney is currently performing in Las Vegas and just recently had a very special someone in the audience. She tweeted her thanks to DJ Skrillex when he stopped by to see the show and hang out with her sons, Sean, 9, and Jayden, 8.

The folks behind Tinder had a major meltdown on Twitter last night, in response to a Vanity Fair article published this week. 

The offending piece, written by journalist Nancy Jo Sales, quotes a psychology professor who said that Tinder has a negative effect on males' view of monogamous relationships. According to the professor, "the impression that there are thousands or millions of potential mates” encouraged men to engage in 'a short-term mating strategy.'"

It also said in the article that Tinder is the cause of the rising number of divorces happening all over the world and the growing number of unstable relationships. 

But an unidentified Tinder employee hit back at the journalist and the company in a never-ending series of epic tweets, It has to be seen to be believed….

Angelina Jordan from Norway is fast becoming a YouTube sensation, as her performance of What A Difference A Day Makes by Dinah Washington goes viral.

The eight-year-old songstress swept her nation away with her strong and soulful voice but is now making herself known all over the world through social media. 

With nearly two million views on YouTube, Angelina is being compared to the late Amy Winehouse and even sports the same look with a gorgeous beehive hairstyle. 

One user on YouTube said: "She reminds me of Amy Winehouse so much it's painful", while another wrote: "If Bjork and Amy Winehouse had a child".

In 2014 Angelina won Norway's version of Britain's Got Talent, called Norwegian Talents, but up until now she was only well known in her country. The performance, filmed at the fortress in Halden, Norway, begins with two backing singers singing opening notes and when Angelina joins them onstage, the crowd goes crazy.

Geordie Shore star Marnie Simpson has decided to leave the show, according to a tweet that was posted today. 

Marnie, who recently got engaged to TOWIE's Ricky Rayment, has left the MTV show a three years after appearing on it for the first time as Sophie Kasaei's cousin. 

In a message on Twitter, she explained that the show was amazing but she couldn't go on while in a relationship. 

“Being part of Geordie Shore was amazing and one of the best experiences I've ever been given and I will never forget it, but I couldn't continue in the show in a relationship it wasn't fun to me anymore and I didn't enjoy it…” she wrote.

For Marnie, quitting wasn't a hard choice. “Picking between my future was extremely easy, Ricky would always come first," she said. 

"I choose to get engaged to Ricky and say good bye to the show… I would never let the person I love go because of a TV show."

Marnie also thanked the show's producers for her first big break, saying she was "so grateful".

The Mirror reported the statement made by Marnie, but it has since disappeared from her Twitter feed.

However she did retweet a message from her mum which said: "Just like say as a mother I am extremely proud of my beautiful daughter @MarnieGShore & I know every decision she makes is the right 1"

Marnie's fiancé Ricky also left his spot on reality television show The Only Way Is Essex and he is now attempting to follow a career in the music industry.

The average person spends 8.8 hours in work every day – that’s a little over 9,000 hours a year which essentially makes up one third of your life. It’s crazy when you think about it, right?

It stands to reason that you will want to work at something that you love, but unfortunately in life there are little twists and turns that can lead you astray and send you down a path that you didn’t necessarily want to be on.

But whether you’re on the path you’re happy with or would rather be going in a different direction, these tips can help you to feel fulfilled at work… and maybe even lead you to that dream job.

Find a mentor
Find someone in your line of work (or the one you want to be in) that you admire and ask them to mentor you. Most people will have no problem giving you advice that they have learned over the years and helping you along the way. They will also be great if you have any ideas as they can advise you what road to take to achieve those goals.

 

Ask for an evaluation
This can be scary but also extremely helpful with getting you to better yourself and your work ethic. As some criticism might sting a bit, it will be an excellent insight into what you’re doing wrong and how you can improve it.

 

Stop procrastination
Every single one of us do it, whether we procrastinate by cooking, cleaning, watching TV or reading a book, you need to stop. Identify what way you put work off and make a strategy to discourage yourself from doing so. You will thank yourself in the long run.

 

Take initiative
Don’t sit back in the corner and let other people do all the work. Take your own initiative and do the work for yourself. If you spot a problem, fix it. If you spot an opportunity, take it. You won’t get anywhere if you sit back and don’t look for ways to improve.

Information is power
Study your industry the best that you can. Work environments are constantly changing, so make it part of your job to keep up with it all.  However, you don’t have to quit your job just to get back to studying or be unfocused at work.  Studying online is a great way to broaden your knowledge and skills without spending too much time attending in a traditional university.

 

Network, network, network
One of the best ways to move on up in your career is to meet new people and network. The more people you meet, the more contacts you will have and in turn you will gain more opportunities. Always treat people with respect, as you never know where they could be in a year’s time.

 

Confidence
There’s no point carrying out all of these tactics if you’re not confident in what you do. Rely on yourself. If you are going to crumble after one hit, you need to readjust your goals. You will be knocked down on your way to your chosen career, but get back up and fight ten times harder. And never give up.

Students all over the country received their Leaving Cert results this morning, the culmination of 14 long years of schooling.

The dreaded LC is still imprinted on the memory of every former student as one of THE most stressful and bizarre life events there is. Twitter has been awash with messages of good luck, commiseration and celebration all morning, with Irish celebs joining in the banter too.

As the youngest member of the Jenner/Kardashian clan turns 18, we want to celebrate her daring and gutsy style. 

She never fails to disappoint in the fashion stakes and took it to the next level for her 18th birthday as she wore a Nicolas Jebran white metallic dress, blush pink Givenchy tote bag and Gianvito Rossi blush pink strap heels. 

We think she looked amazing here at SHEmazing! HQ so we went out to see how you can get the look at a much lower price; and this is what we found:

The white Penneys dress is the best bargain of all coming in at €16. Next we found a gorgeous Topshop replica for €60. The detail in the dress has metallic accents just like Kylie's. And if you want to splash out then London label Ariella has a beautiful metallic white pearl dress for €725.

Next we moved onto her totally cute pink Givenchy bag:

The first pick is again from Penneys, coming in at just €8. We then found a fabulous blush pink bag just like Ms. Jenner's in New Look, going for €25. But the Moschino number stole our hearts with it's quilted detail and gold plated logo, this came in at €124.50. 

And last but not least we hunted for the best look-a-like to Kylie's pink strap heels:

They all look quite similar but come in at extremely different prices. The New Look version is going for a tiny €12. Next comes in the River Island heels for €65 and last but certainly not least is Vince Camuto, coming in at €140. 

So take your pick from these great options ladies and you will be looking like one of the Jenner fam in no time.

Look – he's one of the world's most successful designers, with an incredible career spanning more than half a century.

In short, Valentino Garavani, now also aged 83, has nothing to prove.

So if he wants to step out with skin the colour of a sweet and ripe satsuma, more power to him, we say. 

Of course, it probably didn't help that he was standing beside Anne Hathaway – a woman who very much champions the pale and interesting look.

The duo were both at the famed Pacha nightclub on the island of Ibiza yesterday for the Flower Power party – where the the dress-code was floral.

Valentino happily sported a striking navy and white shirt with flower motifs from his own collection (natch), but Ms Hathaway, 32, merely nodded to the trend with a small, white bag with a subtle floral design.

She and the designer are long-standing friends, with Valentino previously saying she's like a daughter to him. 

He created her incredible pink-blush wedding gown for her 2012 nuptials to actor Adam Shulman, and also dressed her for the 2013 Academy Awards – where she picked up the Best Supporting Actress gong for Les Misérables.
