Remember Fr. Ray Kelly, that priest who won the hearts of a nation after he sang a beautiful rendition of Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’ during a couple’s wedding ceremony?

Well, he’s after getting himself a record deal!

Universal Music Ireland have teamed up with the singing priest and he’s been busy writing and recording songs for his debut album, which is due to be released at Christmas.

He’s made sure his new musical lifestyle won’t get in the way of his religious duties though, as the record company have built him a studio in his parochial house on Co. Meath!

Maybe we could send him to the Eurovision next year, singing a rendition of ‘My Lovely Horse’. Sure it’d be a bit of a laugh at the very least!

In a long term relationship it can be easy to forget to romance your partner. For guys it’s a bit easier – the old standard of flowers and chocolates never goes amiss.

Some girls may expect to sit there and be adored but in the age of equality don’t forget that it’s a two-way street. You can’t just expect him to woo you, you have to woo him back.

Here are a few things you can do to show him you care.

Hide things in his pockets

Ok, so this may seem like something a cat would do, but trust us it works.

Next time he’s over, hide a few of his favourite sweets or a little note in his jacket pocket. After he leaves he’ll find it and smile thinking about you.

Make him his favourite food

It’s such a cliché that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, but it’s sadly true. It’s a simple way to show someone that you pay attention to what they like, and that you are willing to go to a bit of effort to make them happy.

Hopefully his favourite food isn’t Kobe beef.

Indulge his geeky side

Most guys have something that they have a geeky passion for, be it Dungeons and Dragons or football statistics. Even if it bores you to tears, the fact that your love is passionate about something is enough reason to make an effort.

So next time he starts talking about his level twelve rogue Halfling and how he got a critical miss while rolling for dungeoneering – listen. Ask questions. Surprise him with new dice.

The delight from having both a Warhammer army and a girlfriend will win him over forever.

We are constantly bombarded with amazing before and after shots in ads online – usually trying to sell us a dodgy diet product.

Before you get too jealous however, some Instagrammers have revealed just how easy it is to fake these kinds of shots.

Using a combination of lighting, angles and good old fashion sucking in their stomachs, you can look like you’ve been in a six month bootcamp in just seconds.

The fake transformation shots were started by a Melbourne based fitness trainer called Mel, who wanted to highlight the difference between the media images we are presented and normal bodies.

“I want to make it clear that there are definitely some very impressive, genuine physical transformations out there,” Mel explained.

"What I do take issue with are the transformations that are manipulated with Photoshop, professional lighting, postures to degrade or enhance their look, pro tans, sucking in or pushing out a bloated belly or flexing muscles vs. not flexing to obtain an optimal look."

What Mel wants to promote is lifelong health and fitness, not the crash diets and exercise regimes that unrealistic before and after shots encourage.

“Forget about the quick transformations and focus on a life of healthy eating, well-managed stress levels, quality sleep and plenty of movement. Spend time with people who have similar goals and values and take time to appreciate yourself the way you are right now. Don't beat yourself up if you eat a cookie, just enjoy that cookie and everything else life has to offer."

Bravo!

Dyeing your hair is not an easy decision, especially when it is your first time.

So when it comes to deciding on which colour to choose, bear in mind these tips:

Find out your natural look
This can be tricky, especially if you have been dyeing your hair for a long time, but try to remember!

Think about your lifestyle
Before you go too wild, keep in mind how your new look will fit in with your lifestyle – job, college, etc. Don’t go purple if you’ll just end up with a stern warning from your boss – it’s totally not worth it.

Do a tester
If you have finally decided on a shade, try it out before you go permanent. You can pick up a wash out dye kit fairly cheaply and it will mean if the colour really isn’t right you can change it.

Think of your skin tone
Always keep in mind your skin tone when deciding on a colour. If you are pale, avoid going for a shade that will wash you out.

Go a shade lighter
When you have finally decided on a colour, always choose one shade lighter than you want. It will come out darker than the picture on the box.

We love a good selfie as much as the rest of them, but the craze has gotten a bit out hand lately (we think Kim K's book of selfies was the tipping point). So, in a bid to crack down on the culture of vanity, Central Park was turned into a ‘No Selfie Zone’ – at least for a while!

Comedian and writer Jena Kingsley put up ‘No Selfie Zone’ signs around the park and dressed up in a uniform, claiming to be the 'selfie police'. She then patrolled the area, and told people that the only way of getting out of the $50 fine was to delete the picture in front of her – and of course, the whole thing was caught on a hidden camera, for your viewing pleasure.

We know this was just a prank, but we’re starting to think it wouldn’t actually be a bad idea!

Geordie Shore’s Vicky Pattison has spoken out about how she considered committing suicide after her arrest for assault in 2013.

There were allegations made that she and her co-star Holly Hagan had attacked a model during a night out in Newcastle, and Vicky was charged with two counts of assault. She pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 180 hours of unpaid community service.

The reality star has spoken out about the ordeal in her new book Nothing But The Truth, saying:

“I was so down in the weeks that followed I genuinely contemplated killing myself at times…

“I am dramatic about things when it comes to love or my mates, but I had never in my life before suffered from serious depression or considered suicide.

“I felt like all I was doing was messing up and embarrassing my family. I had lost everything I had going for me and I didn't want to live any more. I couldn't see any other way out.”

However, the star got help from her sister and psychiatrist, and thankfully, got back on her feet:

“It was that fighting instinct in me, and my amazing sister and friend who got me through that made me realise that I would achieve nothing by killing myself. I would have left the only people who cared about me heartbroken.”

A study has found that the actual tick tock of a clock makes women want to get married and have babies.

Not only this, but it may lead you to drop your standards and just go with any old eejit who can fulfil your desires.

Apparently, women subconsciously associate the sound of a ticking clock with their limited child-bearing years

In the first experiment, 59 men and women were asked about when they want to have children, and in the second they were asked about the qualities they look for in a partner.

They were also asked about how financially secure their childhood was, and apparently the women who came from a poor background were influenced by the ticking clock. They wanted children earlier and didn’t worry so much about their partner’s social status or earning power.

Women who came from a well-off background, on the other hand, became choosier about their mate as their time ticked away.

Men, of course, paid no heed to the ticking clock.

The Florida State University researchers said: “Subtle clues that signal the passage of time – such as the perception of a ticking clock – may signal threats to a woman’s reproductive potential.”

If travelling to Paris has always been on your wish list, you’re not alone. Last year, 84.7 million tourists touched down in the City of Love. That is a hell of a lot of people!

Unsurprisingly, the United States came in a close second, although the fact that it didn’t come first kind of shocked us.

This is all according to the World Tourism Organisation – the UN’s agency in charge of responsible tourism. The agency compiled a top 10 list and here it is in all its glory:

1. France

2. United States

3. Spain

4. China

5. Italy

6. Turkey

7. Germany

8. United Kingdom

9. Russian Federation

10. Thailand

Unfortunately, if you are one of those people who like to travel to places that nobody else goes to, you might want to give these a miss…

84 years after her first appearance, Betty Boop is finally getting her first feature length film. Simon Cowell’s Syco Entertainment and Animal Logic are working together to bring Betty into the 21st Century.

Betty was the first and most famous animated sex symbols of her age. Created as a parody of flappers in general and singer Helen Kane in particular, Betty Boop was last seen in 1988 in the hit live action/animation crossover Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

She appeared as a waitress in an animated bar, mourning that how no one wanted to see black and white cartoons any more.

We don’t know what the movie is about yet but if Simon Cowell’s involved then clearly he thinks there’s money to be made. We can only hope some of the money goes on a script and not just on merchandising.

At the announcement of the new film, Simon Cowell said, "Betty is an icon, and one of the biggest stars in the world – I'm thrilled to be working with her. Betty, I've worked with some serious divas but I think you could be the biggest of them all!"

Betty Boop herself added "I'm so excited to return to the big screen – and I only work with the best! Let's have some fun, Simon. Boop-Oop-a-Doop!"

Holidays these days are never the same as when you were a kid. Here are some of the reasons we pine for those childhood holidays so much:

1. Your parents payed for everything
Oh to be a child again. Your parents brought you away to Spain, France or Italy or Youghal and payed for everything. Now you have to contribute some rent money and just TRY and ask them to fund your summer holiday now!

2. You went away, and came back from your holiday, completely stress-free
You went away completely stress-free, and guess what? You came back completely stress-free. The largest of your concerns was going back to school in a month’s time. But then again, you got to see all of your friends again so it didn’t bother you that much.

3. Spending 5 consecutive hours in the swimming pool was the best thing ever
You literally never got bored. You could swim and swim and swim. Holding your breath for as long as possible, spying on people underwater, being the first to find the penny at the bottom of the pool and racing your friends supplied you with infinite hours of fun. Eventually, your dad  pulled you out of the pool all shriveled up and looking like a prune but you didn’t care.

4. You thought you were James Bond escaping from the kid’s club that your parent’s sent you to
God love our parents. They tried and tried to send us away for a couple of hours so they could have a few measly hours to themselves without us bothering them. To do what, we will never know? Our adventures came from escaping the kid’s club and the adventure camps and taking refuge back at the pool.

5. Food, glorious food.
You were much more easier to please back then. Going out for delicious meals every night was delightful.

6. You never woke up hungover, feeling like you were on the verge of death
Alcohol was quite literally the LAST thing on your mind at that age. The closest you ever came to drinking was when you badgered your dad for a sup of his Guinness because your cool friend told you that he tasted beer. One sip was enough to almost make you hurl, and that was the end of it. Back to the Fanta and Coke.

7. Making best friends with someone for the time that you were there
Your holiday pals and you had many adventures together. In the week or two that you spent together you were inseparable. Making friends like that is a lot harder now that you’re an adult.

8. You went to bed late, and got up early with an abundance of energy
Your energy supply was endless. You jumped into bed at 2am after you got home from the restaurant and bars that your parents took you to, then bounded out of bed as soon as the sun came up, looking to set the towels up by the pool again.

9. Developing an unmatched base tan that you simply can’t achieve now
You were able to swim and run around in the sun for hours, picking up a solid base tan in the process. The only time you sat in the shade was when your parents called you over for your lunchtime sandwich or ice-cream by the pool, and the it was straight back in. You couldn’t even try and get that sort of tan naturally now.

10. With no iPhone, you were outdoors all the time and the most active you’ve ever been
You had no phone, and you didn’t care. Your only concerns was getting out and spending as much time with your friends as possible. We could all take a leaf out of our early childhood selves.

11. An ice-cold Coke in the sun was your Heaven, you’re much harder to please now
Where's our Martini with two olives, waiter?

12. Your parents took great care of you, now you take care of yourself, which you’re actually terrible at
Back then your parents did everything for you and made sure you wanted for nothing. Now as you’ve grown older, they still do their best to ensure you want for nothing, but you’re learning to take care of yourself. And you find out that you’re pretty damn bad at it.
