Let’s face it, everyone loves a bit of random flirting, be they male or female. In a shop, at the bar, on the street, a randomer finding you physically appealing enough to start a conversation with you can sometimes be the highlight of your day.

There are certain places however where being chatted up can only end in disaster:

1. An STI Clinic

There's going to be questions asked, don't say we didn't warn you…

2. A Courtroom

"Soooo…what did you do?"

3. At a Family Occasion

Yes that cute waiter may have winked at you at your granny’s 80th birthday but proceed with caution. For the majority of your relations you are still twelve and nothing will shatter that illusion quicker than playing tonsil tennis in their presence. Don’t do it.

4. At Work

Unless you’ve landed some form of a dream job the majority of students part-time occupations are boring, demanding, smelly or all three. Sometimes a customer might make a suggestive comment that makes you blush or a co-worker might give you a flirtatious nickname but you’re probably too tired/stressed/sticky to notice. Save it for the Christmas party.

5. A Bathroom Line

I know you just peed and haven’t washed your hands. Step away.

6. The Lingerie Section

There’s only three reasons any straight lad should be in a lingerie section.

a) They’re picking up something for their other half.

b) They like smelling women’s underwear or

c) They’ve gotten lost in a Father Ted-style incident and are desperately trying to escape. Only in the third case should you return the conversation.

7. During the Walk of Shame

Last night’s dress, banshee hair, panda make up and carrying stilettos. No one looks good this way.

8. When on a Date with Someone Else

Nothing will kill any potential romance there could be faster.

9. McDonald’s at 4am

Just the food, seriously.

10. Any Form of Public Transportation after 9pm

Nothing good happens at night. Your Mammy warned you about this.

The Jenner sisters, Kendall and Kylie, along with their older sister, Kim, have drawn some unwanted attention on themselves since last night’s MTV VMA Awards.

The trio, who attended the event together, were seen using their phones during a tribute for Ferguson last night.

The city of Ferguson, in Missouri, has been struck by tragedy since the death of 18-year-old Michael Brown, an unarmed teenager who was fatally shot by a police officer.

The death of the teen has sparked outrage in the city which has resulted in riots and increased levels of violence.

At last night’s VMA’s, rapper, Common, lead a moment of silence for Michael Brown, whose funeral is being held today, and for peace all over the world.

Really not the best time to be caught on camera on your phone, as the girls were…

The internet has since responded the best way it knows how, with many people tweeting things like:

It will be interesting to see how the Kardashian camp deal with this major faux-pas…

If you suffer from skin problems like acne, you’ve probably spent a fortune on lotions and potions that promise to turn your life around. Unfortunately, they don’t often work, and you just end up scouring the shelves of the chemist for the next miracle cure once again.

This vicious circle of try, fail, try again, can get tiresome, so perhaps it’s time you came up with your own miracle cure. And hey, if it doesn’t work, at least you didn’t spend a fortune!

How to make your own cleanser
This is really easy to do. All you need is:

  • Olive oil or sunflower seed oil (organic, preferably)
  • Castor oil (you’ll get it in natural food shops)
  • A clean, empty bottle

While applying oil to oily skin may sound absolutely ludicrous, it actually makes perfect sense. Like cancels like, so if you put good oil onto your face, your skin will stop producing so much of it itself.

Both sunflower seed oil and olive oil are good for moisturising your skin. Some people prefer sunflower seed oil as it absorbs into the skin more quickly, but since you’ll be washing it off anyway, it doesn’t really make a difference.

Castor oil has many anti-bacterial qualities, but if you used it on its own, you’d be shedding skin for days. This is why you only need about a teaspoon of castor oil for every seven teaspoons of olive or sunflower seed oil. Of course, it depends on your skin, so you kind of have to try it a couple of times to get the ratio right.

For an extra kick, you can add a few drops of patachouli oil which is great for reducing swelling, speeding up the healing process and fighting infection.

Using your home-made oil cleanser is really easy too, just follow these steps:

  • Splash some warm water on your face to open up your pores
  • Put about half a teaspoon of the mixture into your hand and massage it into your face
  • Leave it for a minute or two to sink in
  • Wet a clean face-cloth with warm water and get to work washing the oil off (it won't just rinse off with water)
  • Splash your face with cold water to close your pores back up

See? So easy! You can use sunflower seed oil as a moisturiser too, but do not do this if you‘re going to be heading outside, as it will attract the harmful rays from the sun, which won’t do your skin any favours at all.

Good luck!

Whether you live at home or share a house with your friends (or strangers for that matter), there are times when no matter how well you get on, they are just going to do something that gets on your nerves. It’s inevitable when you share the same space with other people. If you’re lucky, these things will rarely happen. But if not, well, you could always move. Or just retaliate, whatever’s cheaper.

1.Drinking Straight Out Of The Carton
It doesn’t matter how big the thirst is that you’re trying to quench, you can take the extra ten seconds to pour the drink into a glass and drink from that. Your saliva and our milk don't mix. Ever.

2. Putting Empty Boxes/Bottles/Containers Back In The Fridge
The only reason that people do this is that they aren’t concentrating while they’re tiding up after themselves. Please think about what you’re doing and don’t get our hopes up that there’s still some M&M’s left in that big empty bag in the fridge.

3. Blatantly Eating Your Food
Just buy your own – or at least ask!

4. Leaving Dirty Dishes In The Sink
Don’t even get us started.

5. Noisy Eating
Some people, in fairness, are just noisy eaters, and there’s not a lot that they can do about it, it’s just the way they chew and the shape of their face or something. (Not to be confused with people who chew with their mouth open. Those people can’t be helped.)

6. Leaving The Cap Off The Toothpaste
Hard, stale unusable toothpaste is never good, how is it that much harder to just put it back on?

7. Not Hanging Up The Towel After A Shower…
It can’t dry properly down there, and becomes smellier in a much shorter space of time.

8…Or Opening The Window
We can't see in the fogged up mirror to do our make-up every morning – can't you be a little considerate?

9. Leaving The Toilet Seat Up
One for the boys. How many times do we have to fall into the toilet bowl before we either start looking down first, or you learn to put it down after?

10. Using Your Shampoo
Like stealing your food, there’s only a certain amount of people that it could be. Only this one is much easier to figure out, especially when they come out of the bathroom smelling like coconut conditioner.

11. Eating In Their Room And Leaving The Stuff Behind
By “stuff” we mean all of the cutlery, bowls, plates and cups they seem to be gathering into some sort of personal collection, meaning that there's nothing to eat cereal with in the morning, or any meal throughout the day for that matter.

12. Not Replacing An Empty Toilet Roll
Or even worse, not buying more when they’ve used up the last roll in the house. Tissues and kitchen roll will only do for so long!

13. Not Cleaning The Oven After Use
Obviously the oven doesn’t need to be cleaned after every time it’s used, but it’s common courtesy to clean up any spills that may have been caused by any of the food you were cooking.

14. Stinking Up The Fridge With Smelly Food
Blue cheese? Reeeally?

15. Hair In The Sink
No. Just, no.

16. Not Flushing The Toilet
Nope.

17. Stealing Your Charger
When someone asks to borrow something, the standard thing to do is to return whatever it is once they’re finished with it. Not keep in their room indefinitely until you have to be asked for it.

18. Leaving Used Tea Bags On The Counter
Taking the teas bag out of the mug and leaving it on the spoon while you pour your milk in or get the biscuits is a pretty common habit. But don’t just leave it there, throw it out before you leave the kitchen. The bin is 5 feet away from, it’s not hard.

19. Having The Television Really Loud
Sssh!!

 20. Bringing Home Unwelcome Couch Surfers
And they stay for way longer than you expect them to. They make relaxing in your own house awkward.

Fáilte Ireland’s new chairman Michael Cawley has announced that Dublin will be getting a €20 million facelift.

The capital will be cleaned up good and proper, and there’ll also be a logo designed for the city, as they want to create a ‘unified brand’ much like New York’s ‘I heart NY’.

Even though we’ve been hearing that tourism is doing well in our fair city, Cawley says we are “losing out market share wise to comparative cities like Edinburgh, Amsterdam and Barcelona.

“We need to clean up its image. Temple Bar, long an asset, has become less than an asset, shall we say. I don't want to be overly negative about it, but we need to do better.”

Ooo, sounds like Michael’s getting a bit catty, doesn’t it? Still, he’s got a point! We’d love to see a clean, prettier Dublin (though we love it anyway!).

Ooh, there is going to be a lot of angry Ed Sheeran fans out there after this!

Miley’s MTV VMA Awards appearance was not quite as controversial as last year and she managed to keep her tongue inside her mouth all night, but did hit the headlines for two reasons.

First, there was the amazing thing she did for a struggling homeless man, Jesse.

When it was announced she had won the VMA for Video of the Year for Wrecking Ball, instead of going up on stage herself, she sent Jesse up in her place.

Jesse delivered a moving speech about the struggle for homeless people in Los Angeles while Miley looked on in tears.

This really made a change to the impression she made at last year's VMA when she twerked on stage with Robin Thicke (remember him?)

The second thing? Oh, she called Ed Sheeran an a**hole.

Don’t believe us? Here’s the proof, in GIF form.

He’s possibly the nicest guy in showbiz – could it be the Taylor thing?

Or, it could also be that time Ed slightly dissed her, saying: “It’s a stripper’s move. If I had a daughter of nine, I wouldn’t want her twerking.”

Ed later apologised for his comments: “Something said in jest when I was drunk is being misquoted now, just wanna make it clear I genuinely like mileys music a lot.”

Not so sure she accepted your apology, Ed…!

Have you ever felt like you have no clothes to wear, despite the fact that you have absolutely no space in your wardrobe, because of all the clothes?

If your answer is yes, you are not alone and there IS help out there. All it takes is a little organisation. Here are some top tips on how to do it:

Throw it out
If you have piles of clothes that you haven’t worn in years for whatever reason, you need to get rid. If they’re in good enough shape you could sell them, or bring them to a charity shop. Otherwise, it’s off to the clothes recycling bin for you, unless, of course, you’re handy with a needle and thread and could turn them into something amazing.

Lift and separate
Separate all your jeans from your jumpers, your tops from your dresses and your underwear from your outerwear. Having all the different types of clothing in a different place makes picking an outfit MUCH easier.

Jeans
There are different ways to organise jeans – whether by size, colour, or style. The easiest is probably by colour, as it’s the most visual which is what you need when you’re staring into your wardrobe at 6am. Whether or not you decide to fold them neatly on a shelf, or hang them on the railing, is up to you.

Jumpers
It’s best to fold heavy jumpers so that they don’t lose their shape on the hanger, and do use some kind of moth repellent to protect your woollen clothes. Natural repellents such as patchouli oil, or cedarwood oil are always worth a try.

Dresses
A hanger is the only place for your dress. Organise them by colour rather than length, as it makes them easier to find. You could also have sub-categories of day and night dresses, if you’re REALLY organised!

Skirts
It’s best to hang these on those hangers especially made for skirts with the clips. Fold them in at the sides so the outside doesn’t get damaged and organise them by colour, but also by style. That skirt you wore in Ibiza last year probably isn't going to make an appearance any time soon, so you could stick that one at the back.

Shoes
If you have one of those closet organisers that are made for holding shoes, use it. They do collect a lot of dust, but isn’t that better than running around the place looking for your missing shoe first thing in the morning? If you don’t have one, the bottom of your wardrobe does the job too. Organise them by the height of the heels and style.

Underwear
Keep your fancy underwear separate from your normal, everyday underwear. Otherwise you’ll end up wearing your nice things to work, and they won’t seem so fancy anymore. If you want to REALLY go all out, you could line your underwear drawer with silk. How very seductive!

It looks like Ariana Grande and Big Sean’s relationship has been confirmed!

Though it has been rumoured that they were dating, nothing had yet been acknowledged by either Big Sean or Ariana – but you know what they say: 'actions speak louder than words'!

The two were first linked following Big Sean’s messy break-up from Naya Rivera break-up last April.

The cute new couple were seen holding hands by the MTV behind-the-scenes camera at last night’s VMA Awards.

Naya was said to be livid about the rumoured relationship between Ariana and Big Sean, despite her shock wedding last month to Ryan Dorsey.

Ariana is also just out of a relationship, having broken up with Jai Brooks last month.
