Last night’s People’s Debate in Cork saw a very impassioned man speak about family values and why he doesn’t want marriage equality in Ireland.

However, he lost the run of himself somewhat and made a rather hilarious fail, claiming that Ireland doesn’t want to see ‘men and women gettin’ married’…

Somehow, we’re not so sure this is what he meant but it made for some excellent TV. Even Vincent Browne broke down in laughter, which means it must be VERY funny.

When Stan Beaton lost his beloved wife, Ruby, back in 2003, he used her recording on their shared voicemail as a comfort in his time of loss.

Over the years, Stan has said that he used the recording as a source of comfort if he was having a particularly hard day or missing her.

However, last month, the recording disappeared as Virgin undertook some work, leaving Stan heartbroken.

After lots of hard work and effort, the Virgin team managed to salvage the recording, and watching Stan listening to it afterwards is just heartwarming. Taken aback by the lengths the company went to for him to be reunited with his wife’s voice, Stan says: “Ten people?! That must have cost a fortune!”

Virgin also offered to donate money to a charity of Stan’s choice as a further apology while the 68-year-old plans to repay their efforts with a present of a lovely bottle of Glendfiddich.

Such a lovely story – we're so glad that Stan got to hear his wife's voice again.

This is karma at its best, lads.

Two students at Nottingham Trent University were walking home from a night out when they spotted what they thought was a student stuck upside down in a window frame, with his feet still dangling outside.

When police were called to retrieve the trapped lad, they realised that it wasn't just a drunken prank gone wrong, but a burglar who had been attempting to break into a student dorm.

Looks like he didn't get too far!

Before they called the police, the two students of course filmed the scene for entertainment value… prepare for some NSFW language!

The star appears in phone network T-Mobile's new commerical, which will be broadcast during the ad break for next week's Superbowl. Conan O'Brien treated viewers to a sneak peek of the ad on his show last night, with Kim appearing as a surprise guest later in the night.

We have to admit, this is hilarious.

Save the data, guys. Do it for Kim!

The third Monday is January, known as Blue Monday, is typically considered to be the most depressing day of the year. Our bank accounts hit an all time low after Christmas and the knowledge that the festive season is over really sets in.

The Students' Union over in DCU wanted to do their part to bring a smile pack to people's faces last Monday… and what better way to do that than with a free caffeine boost?

The first five people to comment with their current location on the SU's Facebook page received a hand-delivered coffee of their choice to anywhere on campus.

So sweet. BTW guys, ours is a skim vanilla latte. Just sayin'.

Remember the days when the only thing a "smartphone" could do was let you play Snake? And a computer was something you only got to play Mavis Beacon on at school?

Things have changed a lot since then, but we got a great nostalgia kick out of this Nineties-style infomercial for "The Facebook."

Mark Zuckerberg didn't have his genius idea until 2004, but if it had happened ten years before we reckon this would have been pretty accurate.

"Simply ship a few photographs to The Facebook, they'll cover the postage, and an operator will set up your profile." So simple!
