It seems like it's not all rainbows and sunshine for Louis Walsh as he has been rejected by TV3 for his Ireland's Got Talent idea.

The music manager is very eager to set up the show, following the success of Britain's Got Talent in the past few years.

TV3 boss, Lynda McQuaid confirmed to the Irish Independant that she spoke with Louis and heard him out, but ultimately rejected the idea.

“We’ve had a long debate, myself and Louis. But I don’t think Ireland’s Got Talent is very TV3, I don’t think it would work,” she said.

“I don’t think we have a culture of working men’s clubs, which is where it came out of,” she told the paper.

“My feeling is that an Ireland’s Got Talent would start to feel very parochial, very quickly. So it’s been ruled out," she admitted.

“He’s not happy about that, because that’s the one he really wants to do – he thinks that the talent is out there.”

Sorry Louis, its seems like your time may have passed.

One Direction have only been gone a hot second and one member is already sharing the fruits of the bands dreaded hiatus.

Liam Payne has revealed that he co-wrote the song The Night We Met, the new single of Louis Walsh's boyband, Hometown.

The six Irish lads can be seen in the video breaking into the Olympia theatre in Dublin to perform the song on stage.

While the single has been doing the rounds on Irish TV and radio, it was not until Liam tweeted the song that we realised it was co-written by boyband royalty.

One Direction announced that they would be taking a one year hiatus from the group in order to take a well deserved break and pursue solo projects.

Hometown were put together by Louis Walsh in 2014 and just released their debut self-titled album.

It's safe to say fans were not happy when Louis Walsh got the boot from this year's X Factor, but that didn't stop Louis from making a surprise appearance on the show last night.

The former judge made a blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance to the talent show in a spoof of the famous John Lewis Christmas ad which aired just before the show began.

Louis was seen playing the man on the moon part from the store's festive campaign.

Mirroring the ad, the Irish music manager was seen looking through a telescope from his secluded bench on the moon as the X Factor final took place back on earth.

The Mayo man then appeared to look sad that he was missing out on the event and let out a big sigh before giving a helpless wave at earth and his former spot on the judging panel.

It seems like someone really wants to go back on that judging panel. Poor Louis.

The man with the bag is more traditionally clad in brightest red – with a big white beard to boot.

Indeed, Mr Claus is furthermore ordinarily considered to be a native of the North Pole, rather than Co Mayo.

But nevertheless, and wearing a delicious shade of Cadbury purple, Louis Walsh certainly makes for a rather fetching Father Christmas.

The music manager, who of course earlier this year starred in another Cadbury's advert that got everyone talking, is now back for the festive season – appearing during last night during the X Factor ad break in his hottest Yuletide attire.

And speaking frankly, we reckon his future as Santa is now pretty much secured.

Ho, ho, ho!

Louis Walsh as Purple Santa = EPIC gifts 🙂 #FreetheJoy #Cadvent

According to some rumours he's set to make a dramatic return to the X Factor to help the show's falling ratings. Now Louis Walsh has hinted he'll be heading to the jungle instead.

Dropping the biggest hint yet that he will take part in the forthcoming series of I'm A Celebrity, the 63-year-old music manager revealed he does want to appear on the show.

Speaking with the Mirror, Louis hinted that a trip to Australia – where the reality TV series is filmed – in a few weeks might be a possibility: “If I'm not in the jungle this year, I'll do it next year.”

There had been speculation Louis would be making a return to Simon Cowell's flagship show after the 12th season has been suffering from disappointing ratings.

Having left the show last year, after 10 years as a judge, the former Boyzone manager has been heavily linked to I'm A Celebrity. Insiders are supposedly saying that the show's producers are very eager to sign him up.

Mail Online reports an insider saying: 'Louis would be fantastic in the jungle – we’d love to get him involved.

“He doesn’t hold back from saying what he thinks and he’s very, very funny.”

Louis also hinted that he may be making an X Factor comeback. Not too long ago on Loose Women, the veteran judge said:

“Simon said the door was open to me months ago. I talked to him last night. There is a possibility I might end up on the show, but I don't know for definite.

'I'd like to. I'm available. There is a possibility,” he added.

There have been a total of 14 series so far – with the latest instalment about to kick off next month.

And while the exact famous faces who will be entering the Celebrity Jungle this year have not yet been confirmed, rumour is now abound.

Indeed, a certain Louis Walsh, 63, has already confirmed that he is currently in talks with producers to appear on the hit show for 2015.

He told BBC Newsbeat rather cryptically that he "could be" about to make his I'm A Celebrity debut: "I'm not saying I said no, I am not saying I said yes. Let's see what happens."

But seemingly ITV chiefs are desperate to have the Mayo-man sign the dotted line: they're reportedly willing to cough up €675,000 in order to persuade him to jet out to the Aussie wilderness.

According to certain reports, Mayo native Louis Walsh is set to make a big return to X Factor in order to help the show out of the ratings slump is has hit this year.

After being part of the show for ten years, this year he was left out of the judges panel line-up but apparently he would still 'sit in a special place' separate to the judging panel. The highly-anticipated panel this year has seen viewers fall by one million so far.

Mail Online reports that ITV bosses are planning a huge shake-up in order to bring some viewers back to the series, one of these is possibly a change in the judging panel. The Sun also reported that Simon Cowell doesn't feel the same about the show without Louis being a part of it.

"Louis could annoy a lot of people, but he was brilliant at creating the drama required to make a show like X Factor worked," a source told the paper. While X Factor boss Richard Halloway was has been quoted as saying:

"[X Factor] will have a finite life span. But I think you then rest it, then you bring it back.

Viewing habits have changed enormously, especially in the last couple of years… we all got to appreciate that and kind of consider it more," he added.

Meanwhile Louis, 63, has declined to comment on the reports but is said to address the speculation before the weekend. He has already said this year that he feels the show is lacking something. Namely himself and Dermot O'Leary, of course:

"Simon's got a new face himself, he wanted younger faces so he hired them. I think Dermot’s missed big time. I really do. I think the older people like me and Dermot."

Following on from John Giles and Eamon Dunphy's charming 'Free The Joy' ad for Cadbury's last year, former X Factor judge Louis Walsh has only gone and starred in his own version.

And it's totally off the wall. First up, who knew Louis danced like our dads?

Here are a few of the stranger moments from the ad, which debuted this morning…

1. Starting things off, we find out it's Day 5 of Louis Watch
Louis Watch? What are people watching, exactly?

2. So this is Louis' house? Who knew he lived in an art museum?
Very minimalist.

3. Ah, whisk dancing, our favourite evening pastime
Work it, Lou.

4. Oh. Wow. Those are some fly moves…
"I call this The Spacehopper"

5. After getting a MYSTERIOUS phone call, he turns to the camera and says "I'm back!"
The clock reads 7.55pm… either we're about to see Louis on The X Factor tomorrow night, or he's found someone to go out whisk dancing with. WHICH IS IT?

We're frankly pretty disappointed that Louis Walsh hasn't been included in this year's X Factor line-up… because for 2015, all the judges have been allocated an emoji – and we would have LOVED to have seen the Mayoman as a cartoon smiley.

Never mind, we nevertheless reckon the rest of them – Nick, Rita, Cheryl and, of course, Simon – look rather fetching.

The emojis are all part of the newly-spruced up show's attempts to win back viewers, and it has now been revealed that at-home audiences will also get to decide which judge takes on which category.

Girls, Boys, Groups, and Unders; the judges never want the latter two and Simon usually takes the most promising bunch for himself anyway.

Not this time around, however: with the first airing of the 12th series going out on Saturday, people will be able to vote to determine who gets what using Twitter hashtags.

Now this is a twist we really like – but will you be watching this year?

Former X Factor contestant Katie Waissel has revealed her true feelings about her ex-mentor, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini… and boy, it is NOT pretty!

The 29-year-old admitted that she even warned Rita Ora, who is a good friend of hers, that she thinks Cheryl is a “pr**k”.

It is no secret that Ms Waissel and Cheryl didn’t see eye to eye, with Katie having previously opened up about her distaste for the former Girls Aloud singer.

Speaking to Star Magazine she said that, “People think I have this huge thing against Cheryl. And granted, I do. I’m pissed off for various reasons. If you ask me she is fake as s**t.”

And Katie didn’t stop there. “I just think there’s no substance to her,” the singer went on. “She can be very abrupt and rude. I don’t think she’s a very nice human.”

Katie, who finished seventh in the seventh series of the show had some advice to give to upcoming contestants. And that was “to f*****g beg to get someone else as a mentor.”

Wow, we can’t imagine Cheryl is going to be too pleased hearing about this!

Warning new judge Rita Ora against her, Katie admitted that “I told her I hung out with Simon and Louis Walsh, and Cheryl sat with her Benson and Hedges in her dressing room staring at her diamonds. Rita, if you ever lose Cheryl, that’s where she is.”

Following a recent (and very public) feud between Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Louis Walsh, one of the singer's Girls Aloud bandmates has spoken out in her defence.

Former X Factor judge Louis turned the wrath of Cheryl's fans upon him back in May when he called her "lazy" and "irrelevant," saying, "She can give so much more." Now, ex-Girls Aloud member Kimberley Walsh has jumped to protect her friend, telling Fabulous magazine that Louis' comments come as no surprise.

"Louis will say whatever it takes to get him in the press and nothing surprises me," she told the magazine. "He'd turn on anyone at any time if it meant it got him into the press."

Both Kimberley and Cheryl were managed by Louis during their time in Girls Aloud, but it seems relations are not so smooth between the music mogul and his former clients these days. "I don't really have much time for him. I don't owe him anything," Kimberley said.

At the time of Louis' comments, Cheryl was also quick to stand up for herself on Twitter, criticising his work on The X Factor and adding, "I am beginning to wonder if Louis has some kind of an obsession with me."

Ouch.

This is not the only time Cheryl has responded to harsh comments using her social media accounts. Last week she hit back at a fan who had commented on her weight loss, taking to Instagram to say, "I am so sick and tired of it being ok to call someone too thin or a 'bag of bones'… You have no idea what I have been through."

Looks like she probably doesn't need Kimberley to help stand up for her…

Oh you just have to love Simon Cowell!

The X Factor judge has spoken in an interview about the recent feud between Louis Walsh and Cheryl Fernandez Versini.

Speaking honestly about the situation he admits that the pair were never the best of friends.

"There was always going to be a clash," he said.

He admitted: "They’ve never liked each other those two…[When Cheryl was in Girls Aloud ] he was their manager.

"Now Louis managing a girl band, disaster, he just doesn’t do it well"

Hmmm, Simon doesn't seem too bothered then.

Louis and Cheryl were at war recently as Louis called the stunning singer "lazy" and "irrelevant".

Cheryl was quick to defend herself as she shared with Twitter the fact that she thinks Louis is obsessed with her.

Who isn't obsessed with Cheryl though?
