Dublin Bus have announced a shuttle bus schedule to the much-anticipated Metallica concert at Slane Castle, taking place on Saturday June 8.

Thousands of concert-goers will travel with the bus company to the rock band's first Irish show in ten years. It's safe to say the excitement is well and truly building.

Those attending the gig have been urged by an Garda Síochána to plan their routes to and from the gig in advance for safety;

"Gardaí wish to remind those attending Metallica at Slane Castle on 8th June 2019 to plan their travel in advance. Use public transport if at all possible."

Customers have been urged to book tickets as soon as possible to ensure their seat on the day. You can grab your shuttle tickets on the Ticketmaster website for the most convenient travel experience.

Buses will depart between 11am and 4pm from Western Way, Dublin 7 and the return service will operate directly after the event.

A discounted price of €30 for a return ticket (plus booking fee) is available up until May 26, while tickets purchased up until 3 June will cost €40 for a return ticket (plus booking fee).

For outbound journeys, it's important to book a time slot. Metallica fans also can't travel outside of their allocated time slot. Rules are Rules, ladies.

There is limited availability for this service and tickets will sell out, so we'd urge you to book right now. No tickets will be sold on the actual day of the concert, so planning ahead is key.

A Dublin Bus spokesperson expanded on the new shuttle service;

“The reality is that if you take the bus you don’t have the hassle of finding a parking space, leaving more time to enjoy the concert and then travel home safely. It is so much more convenient. Dublin Bus takes the hassle out of travelling.”

There you go, people. You've no excuse to be wandering around the castle, lost amidst your fellow drunk rock fans.

The countdown to one of Ireland's biggest summer festivals is well and truly on, and now Longitude have only gone and given us 22 more glorious acts to see.

They've also entrusted us with the break-up of which days certain artists are playing over the weekend, so we're pretty much ecstatic.

The new acts include; Ave, Bugzy Malone, Fredo, Wild Youth, Little Simz, NOT3S, Headlie One, YBN Cordae, Chasing Abbey, Kneecap, Biig Piig, Grace Carter, Amber Mark, Saweetie, Buddy, Ama Lou, Adekunle Gold, Mallrat, JYELLOWL, Nealo, Why-Axis and Barny Fletcher.

Stage times will be announced over the next few weeks, so stay tuned.

Unforch, H.E.R. and Clairo cannot perform at Longitude 2019 due to scheduling conflicts. We're gutted, especially about H.E.R., but thank the Lord we have 22 new acts to worship.

The festival will take place in Marlay Park from July 5 until July 7, 2019. There are still some limited tickets left for the full three days, so get on that FAST.

In the last two years, Erica has been a regular on the Irish festival circuit, appearing at Electric Picnic, Castlepalooza and Longitude to crowds of fervent supporters who clamoured to the stage for an audible glimpse of her particular brand of empowering choonage.

Her distinctive sound plays on influences from 90s Hip-Hop icons blended with contemporary lyrics that address love, infatuation and female authority – perfect for the pre-drinks playlist or to employ a sense of self-confidence of all who listen (and inevitably end up singing along – that sh*t's catchy).

In the summer of 2018, Erica played the main stage at Electric Picnic with The Story of Hip Hop, collaborating with The RTE Orchestra, DJ Mo-K, Jess Kavanagh, Jafaris and Mango to a 13,000-capacity stage.

When she's not busy performing, she can be found modelling, acting and collaborating with massive brands like Nike and Samsung (casual). However, she's not one to fall into your typical 'influencer' category.

While she showcases her style and promotes her music on Instagram, she also uses her platforms to draw attention to societal issues like toxic masculinity and to elevate other female artists – promoting inclusively and creativity among her audience.

Our advice? Get your tickets ASAP, so you can gloat to your friends that you got to see Erica Cody just before she became one of Ireland's best-selling Irish singer songwriters. Don't sleep on it.
