He may be one of the more controversial sports stars to emerge from Ireland in recent years, but it looks like Conor McGregor may have gone too far this time.

The UFC fighter, who recently defeated Nate Diaz, has taken a battering on Instagram after uploading a photograph of himself posing with a machine gun.

Dressed in a robe with his finger on the trigger, Conor sparked serious debate among his followers – many of whom insist the picture is in bad taste.

"You have kids that's look up to you dude stop being such an arrogant a**hole bro," wrote one of the Dubliner's followers this morning.

You need people like me.

Remarking on the upload which 28-year-old Conor captioned 'You need people like me', a fan of the star wrote: "As huge a McGregor fan as I am, holy f*ck does that look unnatural. Also the finger on the trigger makes me cringe."

"Last photo i thought I'd ever see you in..all the sh*t going on with guns and you pose that," added another.

While some Instagram users condemned the star for glorifying gun culture, others took a more lighthearted approach and pulled Conor up on the juvenile nature of the shot.

"I know you are a fighting champion, but why do you look like a 6 year old on Christmas Day in this photo?" asked one.

Something tells us Conor would be more put out by that than anything else…

Instagram is probably our favourite social media site, but one thing that everyone finds annoying is the way we can't zoom in on pictures.

If you have a big spot on your face and want to hide it, it's probably a good thing, but if you want to see something close-up, it can be really annoying.

But now we can rejoice because IG has just announced that from today on (on iOS), it will have a zoom feature. Hurrah!

Instagram's statement said: "Starting today, you can pinch to zoom on photos and videos in feed, on profiles and on Explore. Dive into an adorable puppy’s smile or into every detail of your friend’s new shirt.

"Over the past six months, you’ve seen many exciting changes come to Instagram, from a new icon to longer videos and even a new way to share everyday moments with Instagram Stories.

"And as things change, we’re still focused on improving the core parts of Instagram. Zoom is available today for Instagram on iOS. Zoom will be available on Android in the coming  weeks."

Amazing!

It's been seven years since we lost the King of Pop just two months shy of his 51st birthday on August 29 2009.

And in honour of what would have been his father's 58th birthday yesterday, Prince shared a poem he had written which pays tribute to the man who brought us some of the biggest pop classics of our generation.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, Prince Michael, who was just 12 when his father died, uploaded an ode to his father, writing: "Happy birthday to the Man who was more than a legend. I love you."

"To many he is king, to me, a man. All he inspires, to lead a noble cause. Everyone is family, not a fan," he began.

"Even while receiving thunderous applause, The many know the Legend and the Myth, A lucky few know the Man as he is, But not as the Jackson family fifth." he continued.

"Son, Brother, Father," these few know him as. He is the Myth, the Legend and the Man. He cares for his mother and his children, The world and everyone, he is a lamb."

"He is pure, tested, yet has forgiven. He is the archangel known as Michael. He is with us and our tears we must stifle," he finished.

The post has received more than 11,000 likes from fans who extended their sympathy to the Jackson family on Michael's birthday.

"My thoughts are with you and your family, always. Your father was truly an angel with a huge heart, this world didn't deserve him but the world needed him," wrote one.

"He made such a difference, I'm glad he raised such wonderful kids. Love you all," they continued while another added: "Sobbing."

Prince is older brother to Paris and Prince Michael Jackson II.

Yesterday was like an unexpected Christmas for Justin Bieber fans everywhere as it appeared to all that his fortnight long Instagram protest had come to an end.

But it seems the 22-year-old Canadian was left feeling Sorry about his apparent decision to return to the ‘gram as once again his account has disappeared into thin air.

As his fans discovered the modern day tragedy last night, the Love Yourself singer used Twitter – because he is still on that – to claim his brief return to the image sharing channel was “an accident”.

Without trying to soften the blow for the Beliebers in any way, JB wrote bluntly: “Still no Instagram it was an accident.”

Naturally Justin’s fans have been left devastated by the news.  One posted on Twitter: “Oh my gosh @justinbieber please please please undelete your Instagram.  I can’t function without seeing your posts.”

While another said: “Without you on Instagram @justinbieber it’s not the same.  I miss seeing you everyday.  But I respect it, although I don’t like it.”

We all know the deal about getting a good foodie pic for Instagram.

And yes, we'll admit that sometimes it takes us a little longer to take the picture than actually eat the food, but you know… Insta likes.

Well, this boyfriend got pretty fed up with his girlfriend when they went out for dinner one night.

Johnny Danger shared a video on his page of his other half trying to get a good picture of her pasta… but what he does next is both hilarious and heart-crippling:

Having only joined the world of Instagram just a couple of weeks ago, Tom Hiddleston has already fallen victim to hackers.

According to Eonline, the 35-year-old actor was hacked yesterday morning, for almost two hours.

The hackers posted bizarre pictures to Tom's profile,  while also promoting other profiles in the process.

They also shared a photo promising Tom Hiddleston fans that they would eventually give the account back to him.

Two hours later, the Avengers actor regained control of his profile, and all was right with the world again.

Tom joined Instagram earlier this month, and has already gained one million followers!

We hope he'll start posting a few cheeky selfies of himself and his girlfriend, Taylor Swift.

Earlier this year, she suffered from a devastating miscarriage three months into her first pregnancy.

But model and reality TV star Courtney Stodden has now acquired a life-like 'reborn' doll – which she says was recommended to her by her therapist.

Wearing a short pink wig and sunglasses, 21-year-old Courtney shared a video on Instagram which show her excitedly cradling the doll.

Admitting that she was "so nervous," about the arrival of the reborn baby boy she can be seen in the video saying "I don't want to hurt him," as she unwraps the packaging.

"He's so pretty; so beautiful – he looks just like a baby…" Courtney can be heard adding.

Ms Stodden then turns to her pet dog to introduce the doll: "Look at your baby brother!"

In an accompanying caption, the model – who has been married to 56-year-old Dough Hutchison for five years – shared: "Just received my reborn baby today! Exciting.

"I know it may seem a little strange but my therapist suggested that having him may help me cope with my loss. #rebornbaby."

She later posted three more images – one black-and-white snap of the doll, along with another the doll alongside one of her dogs, and another one which showed the accompanying 'birth cert,' which came with the doll.

Shortly after her miscarriage, which she spoke publicly about in July, Ms Stodden also shaved her head to manage her grief.

Some fans today expressed their concern that the reborn doll was unhealthy for Courtney – but others thought it could prove beneficial for her as she copes with the loss of her baby.

Unlike Justin Bieber who feels every selfie with a fan is an affront to his humanity, Gaten Matarazzo of Stranger Things fame loves nothing more than being asked for a snap.

So much so, he has begun devoting his own Instagram account to photographs of fans only delighted to have grabbed a shot with the young actor.

Earlier this week, Gaten, who plays Dustin, announced his good intentions online, writing: "I'm starting a new thing."

"Every fan that stops me and asks me to take a picture with them, I will ask them to take a picture with me because they mean as much to me as I mean to them," he wrote in a post which has everyone at SHEmazing! HQ whimpering into their hands.

"This guy was awesome, I couldn't resist having him be in the start of my new trend," 13-year-old Gaten explained to his 400,000 followers.

This guy was really sweet thank you for stopping me to take a picture.

Since sharing the first shot two days, Gaten has added random snaps and accompanies them with sweet descriptions of the people he had just met.

"This was Doris she is super sweet," he wrote alongside one while in another he told followers: "Derek was awesome! He recognized me in the elevator it was pretty funny actually."

With social media dominating so much of our time, it’s hard to imagine life before filtering photos was part of our daily routine.

And while your Insta filter of choice may have seemed relatively insignificant before now, a new study has shown that your favourite form of camouflage may actually reveal some very important clues about your mental health.

During a study of 166 Instagram accounts and almost 44,000 photos, researchers from Harvard and the University of Vermont discovered a link between particular colours, filters and subjects in people’s social media accounts and depression.

Photos which featured more blue, dark and grey colours were found to predict depression in the individual who posted them.

People with depression were more likely to have fewer faces in their pics than those without – which could be linked to socialising less frequently – and they were also less likely to use filters.

Where filters were used, the black and white edit Inkwell was most commonly associated with depressive states.  Additionally, depressed individuals generally received fewer likes for their posts than those with more positive mental diagnoses.

According to the Evening Standard, those behind the study believe its results are significant enough to suggest that Instagram photos could actually be used in the future as a form of mental health screening.

So turns out all that time debating whether Hefe or Nashville is better could be of use after all.

For many women transitioning from adolescence to adulthood isn’t the most the most enjoyable experience.  On top of having to deal with real life struggles like money (or lack thereof) for the first time, your body can change in ways outside of your control.

As uncomfortable as this experience can be, there’s one obvious way it could be made a whole lot worse and that's by having the whole world scrutinize every aspect of your physical appearance as and when it changes.

Having made this transformation in the public eye, model Gigi Hadid is no stranger to bodyshamers.  But just because receiving criticism is an occupational hazard of hers, it doesn’t mean the Californian beauty is going to sit back and let the trolls walk all over her.

A photo posted by Gigi Hadid (@gigihadid) on

Gigi recently posted a bikini selfie to Instagram which inspired one troll to suggest that the 21-year-old has lost too much weight since she re-entered the modelling industry in 2011.

According to Elite Daily, the star was quick to shut down the bodyshamer in question as she fired back a lengthily comment.

Gigi wrote: “Bodies change as girls become women…Having my body judged over the span of the 4 teen-to-woman years has really shown me the human tendency to label and make uneducated judgement…I loved my body as a 17-year-old athlete and I love my body now.”

In the post the Tommy Hilfiger model acknowledged that she has lost “baby fat” but insisted that she has never intentionally changed her body.  She suggested instead that her weight loss is due to a combination of growing up, boxing training and work-related stress.

She finished by asking the author of the original comment to think about the women who may judge themselves as a result of reading online hate.

“Your comment won’t get me down, but next time, please think about the young women who may read body-judgement comments and judge themselves as they see their bodies growing and therefore naturally changing, too.”

She gave birth to her adorable baby daughter, Kirra, TWO months ago… but it's taken until now for reality TV star Audrina Partridge to share a snap of her beautiful little one.

However, we're sure fans will agree, the wait was certainly worth it.

In a touching Instagram post shared this evening, the 31-year-old LA-born star admitted: "I know all of you guys have been blowing up about wanting to see Kirra and it's been 2 months now."

She added: "It's been hard telling all friends and family not to post or know when the right time is."

Then acknowledging that her "entire phone is filled with videos and pix of her," Audrina continued: "I think it's been long enough…"

Ms Partridge, a former star of The Hills, has been with Corey Bohan, a motorcycle rider and professional BMX dirt bike rider, since 2008.

The duo have been engaged for a year-and-a-half and little baby Kirra was born on June 24 of this year.
