It seems we are all in need of some blemish help. TikTok views on “the best acne treatment” currently sit at 3.7 billion and counting, while Google Trends data shows that searches for “spot cream for acne” and “jawline acne” are up 300 per cent and 70 per cent respectively, in the last 30 days. Having seen the viral success of La Roche-Posay’s Effaclar on TikTok (357.4million views), many Google users are also looking for reviews of “La Roche Posay acne treatment”, searches for which are up 50 per cent.

The new Effaclar Duo+M blends all of the gently exfoliating, bacteria-busting ingredients as Effaclar Duo(+), the UK’s number one Blemish-Prone Skin Cream. It’s a fast track to fresher, clearer skin, with visible results in as little as eight hours.

It is a daily moisturiser that:

  • Corrects and hydrates
  • Unclogs pores, helping to prevent spots and blackheads
  • Reduces the appearance of pigmentation (PIH & PIE) and post-acne marks
  • Helps control shine
  • Provides 24-hour hydration

Key ingredients:

NEW Phylobioma: an active ingredient that targets blemishes and the overproduction of sebum at the source, reduces the growth of blemish-causing bacteria, and is effective on all skin tones.

Salicylic acid: gently exfoliates and unclogs pores.

Niacinamide: proven to target dark spots and pigmentation.

“The Effaclar range is targeting acne and blemishes from all directions, which is aligned to my own approach when seeing people with acne. Most impressive is the commitment to tackling the acne-induced outcomes that bother patients long after the acne has gone (e.g. pigmentation, dryness). Having Phylobioma as part of the formulation is crucial when considering acne affected skin. This ingredient is targeted towards acne-causing bacteria and reduces sebum, two main drivers of acne. The skin microbiome is the subject of research into skin conditions and having this represented in skincare is very important.” – Dr Alia Ahmed, Consultant Dermatologist for La Roche-Posay & Psychodermatologist.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Spotscan

Whether it’s understanding how to treat hormonal acne (searches for which have risen exponentially in the last 30 days) or learning the correct active ingredients to use to take a brewing blemish down, many of us could do with some help when it comes to treating acne-prone skin.

“Acne is the number one reason that patients see a dermatologist,” agrees Dr Alia Ahmed. "Affecting 95% of both male and female teenagers, acne significantly impacts our quality of life. Statistics show that 50% of acne patients self-isolate and 46% are more likely to develop depression."

While professional help is always preferable for anyone feeling low, it costs time and money to get a dermatologist appointment – and clinics are typically busy. La Roche-Posay’s Effaclar Spotscan is a free skin analysis app, developed with dermatologists – and powered by artificial intelligence – to help you understand the perfect skincare routine to tackle acne fast.

The aim? To improve skin health, yes, but La Roche-Posay is also on a mission to improve the quality of life for anyone facing skin issues.

How it works:

1. Take Your Images: Take three images of your face, which will be used to analyse your skin.

2. Reveal Your Results: Spotscan will analyse your blemishes, blackheads and pigmentation marks.

3. Discover Your Routine: Enjoy your personalised skincare routine recommendation. The Effaclar range has formulas to target different severities of blemishes and stages of your skin journey.

We adore autumn. Right behind summer, it’s our favourite season, so full of colour, cosiness and of course, gorgeous fashion. With the change of the season comes new colours, new trends and plenty of new styles, that we’re so excited to try!

One thing that we're really excited about this season is the incoming nail art trends that we're seeing popping up all over our Instagram feeds. We are simply dying for some cute new designs to show off in the autumn! Here's a quick sneak peek at what's going to be big in nail care in the Autumn/Winter season in 2023!

Marbled

A post shared by Monica O (@chatter_nails)

This is not your classic marbled look however! It’s all about beautifully and artistically blended colours that look more ‘work of art’ than marble countertop that was so in a few years ago!

That first picture shows an almost pressed-flower kind of look that’s just indistinct enough to pass for marbling and uses one of the season’s hottest colours, a gorgeous, warm fuschia pink. Meanwhile, the second set mix and match a little with a powder blue and striking gold marble mixed with a deep and glossy burgundy. An unusual set, but definitely an idea we’ll be stealing!

Geometric

This trend has been coming for a while now, we saw it early in 2021 when people were playing with the idea of the classic French tips look and spicing it up with different shapes and designs.

That trend has morphed once again into angular, geometric shapes, with daring splashes of deeper, less delicate colours for autumn time. Expect to see lots of warm fuschias, coffee browns and striking terracotta oranges for that glowing warmth of fall look.

Seventies-inspired

We're not surprised the seventies trend that made its mark on fashion runways is also influencing the nail art world. Be prepared to see lots of funky patterns, vibrant colours and textured materials as the folksy, and disco trends of the seventies create groovy patterns and colour combos in the nail industry.

Again, you’ll be seeing lots of natural looking colours, like burnt orange, coffee brown and clay red in these kinds of designs that are all about the colourful but natural palettes that the seventies were known for.

Cocoa-brown

The ‘it-girl’ colour for fall, we’re seeing this gorgeous coffee/mocha/cocoa brown everywhere this season. Warming, flattering and utterly chic, its made its way into everything from high fashion collections to high street shops.

In the nail world, its being combined with warm autumn colours or else as an alternative to white tips, as seen above. Eye-catching, a little different and very mutedly elegant, it’s making a splash in salons this season.

Anna Williamson has shared her professional opinion of Lottie Moss and Adam Collard’s relationship.

Following the finale of Celebs Go Dating last night, the relationship expert has revealed her thoughts on the model and Love Island star being a couple after the show.

While viewers saw Lottie and Adam having a rocky relationship throughout this season, Anna revealed she would be ‘so happy’ if the pair became an item.

Speaking to OK!, the dating agent admitted, “It was really sad watching Adam and Lottie in the last episode. They're very tumultuous”.

“These two have broken up and gotten back together more times than most people do in a lifetime”.

Williamson continued, “I love Adam and Lottie, I would be so happy if they were together as a couple. Genuinely, I don’t even know if they are together or not, they’re on and off so much that we can’t even keep up”.

“But they have both massively grown as people and as individuals, we’ve absolutely seen them make some really positive progress”.

Even though Lottie and Adam had an on-off partnership during the show which saw them dating other people for the programme, the final episode showcased the pair declaring their feelings for eachother.

When they were attending the gala together, the pair spoke about how they liked each other from the beginning of filming the dating show.

Adam revealed, “I feel like I’ve been through this journey the full time, but for me, I’m on a date with all of these girls and I just know that I was always comparing them to you”.

“From the beginning, I think we’ve both known how we felt about each other”, Lottie explained before adding, “If I’m going to lay my cards on the table, I really like you and I wanna see where this goes”.

Looking delighted, Collard agreed by admitting, “I like you, you know I like you and I care about you a hell of alot. I think it’s obvious”.

Jack Whitehall has shared an update on his experience being a dad so far.

The comedian and his model girlfriend Roxy Horner welcomed the birth of their first child, a baby girl, earlier this month.

As he settles into dad-life, Jack has shared a funny video of himself with his daughter as he tries to settle her.

Sharing the clip to his 3.3M Instagram followers, Jack revealed the ‘only way’ he can get his bundle of joy to stop crying.

As he held his baby girl in front of him, the 35-year-old danced about to Westlife’s hit song When You're Looking Like That.

Jack captioned the adorable post, “When the only thing to stop her crying is to dance with her to Westlife”.

Many of Whitehall’s fans headed to the comments to share their joy over the sweet footage.

One fan wrote, “So sweet! Mastered the art of Dad dancing already!”.

“She has amazing taste in music already!”, joked another fan.

A third commenter added, “This is adorable! gotta do what u gotta do!”.

Roxy also commented on the video to admit, “How my mornings look now”, followed by a laughing emoji.

Jack and Roxy, who are yet to share their little one’s name, announced the birth of their daughter at the start of September by posting a collection of cute photos of them at the hospital with their new arrival.

Jack penned a heartwarming tribute for his partner following the birth of their baby girl and revealed his excitement over starting their family together.

He wrote, “Well this just happened! Utterly overwhelming and joyous in ways I couldn’t have even imagined. In awe of my partner @roxyhorner who has been amazing throughout this journey and is going to be the greatest mum ever”.

“So excited to have started a family of my own. Having vowed I’d never be that guy I am now 100% going to be the parent that shows everyone endless pictures of their kid. I also wore skechers to hospital, I think I must accept I am a full blown dad now”.

Let’s be honest, nothing beats the taste of a fresh, homemade Irish scone! Whether you opt for jam first and then clotted cream (or vice versa), or prefer one with just butter on it, scones really are the perfect sweet treat to satisfy our taste buds.

New Tesco Finest Scones, produced by Milish Bakery and crafted with care in Ireland, have just launched in stores nationwide and online at Tesco.ie

To celebrate the arrival of these sumptuous homemade scones (RRP €1.50 each), Tesco Ireland carried out a survey to find out how the Irish public like to eat one of our nation’s most delicious delicacies.

The results of the research have now been released and we find the outcome quite interesting!

When it comes to choosing the perfect accompaniment for their scone, four in 10 people (41%) like to eat their scones with both butter and jam, while 21% enjoy just butter. Surprisingly, only 13% of respondents like to indulge in all three of the usual top tier toppings- butter, jam and cream, together.

Deciding on the perfect flavour of jam can also cause a quarrel in most Irish households, but over half of those taking part in the survey (53%) revealed they prefer a classic strawberry jam to top their scone with. 28% of respondents reach for raspberry jam, and just 5% opt for blackcurrant jam.

If you fancy conducting your own research at home, or are just really craving a scone now like we are, Tesco has you covered with everything you need to help figure out your favourite way to eat yours.

The new Tesco Finest Fruit Scones, Plain Scones and Multiberry Scones are made using the freshest and highest quality ingredients including fresh free range eggs, fresh Irish double cream, tangy buttermilk and creamy Irish butter, then delicately sweetened with demerara sugar.

The most difficult decision might be deciding which of the Tesco Finest Conserves (RRP €2.29 each), produced in Cork by Folláin, to try out first.

We recommend that you start by sampling the Blas na hÉireann 2022 award winners and 2023 finalists Tesco Finest Rhubarb & Madagascan Vanilla Conserve, Tesco Finest Blackcurrant Conserve and Tesco Finest Raspberry Conserve and see if any of these delicious flavours will knock strawberry off the top spot of jam flavours.

If you’re feeling indulgent like the 13% that enjoy butter, jam and cream, stick the kettle on and enjoy the full shebang by adding Tesco Irish Creamery Butter (RRP €1.85) and Tesco Whipped Cream (RRP €1.79). Yum!

Jade Thirlwall has been forced to address pregnancy rumours after her latest social media post.

The former Little Mix band member has hit back at certain fans after many started speculating that she may be expecting.

Jade had shared gorgeous photos of herself wearing a stunning orange dress as she attended celebrity publicist Simon Jones’ wedding to her 10.5M Instagram followers.

In the collection of photos, Jade is seen sitting at a table, standing with a group of wedding guests, and striking a pose to showcase the beautiful gown and matching gloves.

In all of the snaps, the 30-year-old is holding her handbag in front of her, and while floods of fans headed to the comment section to complement Jade’s outfit, many started speculating if the bag was being placed in front of her stomach on purpose,

One commenter asked, “Anyone else think the bag is being strategically placed”, while a second wrote, “Is someone hiding a bump? Haha”.

“Stunning but am I too suspicious with the positioning of the bag every time?”, added another commenter.

Jade wasted no time in shutting down these pregnancy rumours by writing her our message in the comments.

The Power singer said, “It appears you can’t put a bag in front of your body without people speculating you’re pregnant lol. I’m not”.

“But if it were me and I wasn’t sure, I wouldn’t spend time commenting on someones body when you have no idea what that person’s circumstances might be”.

Thirlwalll then took to her Instagram Stories to elaborate more on why people shouldn't ask if a woman is pregnant or when she’s going to have children.

“Off the back of my band mates and sisters having beautiful children I’ve stopped counting the amount of times I’ve been asked if I’m ‘next’, when am I having kids or am I pregnant. I know the majority of that doesn’t come from a negative place so I take it with a pinch of salt. But some of you need to chill”.

"I’m a thick skinned woman who got a little thicker over the past year and a half and that’s okay. So I’m saying this not even for me but to have in mind when commenting or speculating on another person’s body; if you don’t know, don’t say it- you don’t know their personal experiences or situations”.

Jade added, “The irony is I put the bag in front of my belly cos I was bloated and I didn’t want people, once again, speculating if I was pregnant”.

Fresh and sparkling orange blossom shines through, offering a glimpse of Grasse tuberose captured in its purest form. Armani Privé Pivoine Suzhou Soie de Nacre

Like each of the fragrances in the Armani/Privé Les Eaux Collection, Pivoine Suzhou draws inspiration a legendary garden, the ancient Chinese city of Suzhou, with its canals that thread through in stunning harmony. Reigning as its queen, the most graceful and noble flower, the peony; a symbol of happiness and femininity, radiating each year. When blended with an unexpected malange of sandalwood, vetiver and cedar, the finish reaches fantasy-inspiring levels of insatiability. Dark and sensual, it’s a bold, atmospheric and exotic choice for your autumn scent.

Maison Margiela Autumn Vibes

Inspired by the past, the ‘Replica’ fragrances capture memories that we all share. Every scent instantly evokes images, impressions, and positive emotions that echo the collective unconscious as well as our own personal history. Autumn Vibes inspires a familiar recollection — in this case, a quiet, introspective walk along a forest’s rusty-coloured autumn foliage. This means a woody and slightly resinous trail of Cedarwood is blended with a moss accord, evoking the soaked leaves and moss of an autumn day in a forest. Fir balsam and labdanum call to mind the sweetness of tree sap. Warm notes of nutmeg are softened by the earthy, floral facets of carrot seed, replicating the forest’s moist undergrowth. Olibanum highlights the mix, adding a woody, resinous touch. The perfect scent for all you fall season lovers out there!

Chloé Eau de Parfum Naturelle

Since 1952, Chloé has been guided by a spirit of freedom and the fresh energy that founder brought to women and the fashion world. Today, beyond an ongoing commitment to the advancement of women and inclusiveness, Chloé is focused on making a positive social and environmental impact with their fragrance, Eau de Parfum Naturelle made of 100% natural and ethically sourced ingredients. Rose joins neroli to form a velvety bouquet that exalts the vivid freshness of citron and blackcurrant buds. With the distinctive vibration of cedar base notes, this powerful yet refined woody signature leaves an impression that lingers for hours.

Lancôme Maison Lancôme Oranges Bigarades

Looking for a heavy and sensual citrus scent without the sticky sweetness of smmer flowers?
