After days of deliberation, North and South Korea have announced their intention to march under one flag at the upcoming Winter Olympics.

The games, which will be held in PyeongChang, will begin on February 9.

Athletes from both countries will be represented under a single flag in the opening ceremony.

The flag features a blue silhouette of the lad mass of Korea, including the surrounding islands, on a white background.

South Korea's Unification Ministry told CNN that they will also present a joint North and South Korean women's ice hockey team to the games this year.

Ahead of the games, skiers from both North and South will complete their Olympic training together at a resort in North Korea.

They will also participate in a joint cultural event, says CNN.

A small number of North Korean athletes will also compete in the Paralympics.

We're well over half way through the first month of the year, and despite all our good intentions, 2018 has not been the fresh start we were hoping for.

Our gym shoes are collecting dust, dry January is out the window and our organisational skills leave much to be desired.

However, it's never too late to get back on the horse, and with spring just around the corner, it might be time to start thinking about ridding our wardrobes of all that pesky clutter.

With the launch of its Give Up Clothes for Good campaign this February, TK Maxx are encouraging people to donate any unwanted clothes, accessories and quality homeware items to their nearest branch to raise vital funds for Enable Ireland.

A host of well known faces are putting themselves behind the campaign, and now you too can get involved to take action for children and young people with disabilities in Ireland.

Taking part is simple. All you need to do is bring any unwanted items to the special collections points located in all TK Maxx stores and nominate a friend or family member to do the same.

Share your donations and nominations using #GUCFG on Facebook and Twitter.

We are officially over January, and our dwindling bank balances are part of the problem.

Most of the sale are over, but one vintage establishment is giving our wardrobe's hope in the gloomiest of months.

Iconic Dublin vintage store Nine Crows is intent on giving us some vintage additions to our January wardrobes, broke or not.

The online and brick-and-mortar store is offering customers a whopping 60 per cent off selected stock.

From vintage 80s sportswear to dainty dresses and durable denims, it's a sale section worth browsing.

All you have to do is fill up your basket and apply the code NY60 to see your owed balance dramatically drop.

We may have already added a few things to our own online baskets, but we're stuck choosing between one of their legendary deep-V blouses and a Fila windcheater.

With 60pc off, we'll be getting both.

You can thank us later.

Yesterday, owner of The White Moose Cafe and the Charleville Lodge Hotel took to Facebook to expose an influencer for asking for a freebie stay in his hotel.

Staff at the Charleville Lodge Hotel received an email from an unnamed person offering to mention the establishment on YouTube and Instagram in exchange for free accommodation this Valentine's Day.

The White Moose Cafe, who have previously taken the absolute piss out of vegans and the gluten free, then shared a screenshot of the blogger's request to their extensive following.

It has been widely speculated that the influencer in question is a UK-based blogger by the name of Elle Darby, who was absolutely roasted in the caption which accompanied the post, and in the comment section.

The influencer, who creates fashion and fitness content, has over 88,000 followers on her YouTube channel.

It was on this channel that the lifestyle creator uploaded a 'story time' video about a call out from the Dublin hotel.

'Over the past couple of nights, my partner Connor and I have been discussing going to Dublin for a little weekend away the weekend before Valentine's Day, and I decided to contact some hotels asking if they would like to collaborate,' she told her followers.

A post shared by ELLE (@elledarby_) on

Elle then shared that being an influencer has awarded her many opportunities she could never have dreamed of, as some of her favourite brands have contacted her to collaborate.

Sometimes, she explained, she contacts businesses with mutually beneficial proposals, and she claims that until now, she has never been met with negativity.

Elle said that she contacted a number of Dublin hotels offering to create content for them in exchange for a discounted or complimentary stay, and went about her day.

A post shared by ELLE (@elledarby_) on

Later, she noticed that she had far more Twitter notifications than usual.

'Someone had sent a screenshot of my email to me on Twitter, and the screenshot was from the original hotel's Facebook page.'

'I had numerous tweets calling me a freeloader, disgusting, a skanky b****,' she continued. '

Elle also had people calling her names and referencing the Facebook post on her Instagram page.

She then went to the Facebook page and witnessed the post in which she felt she was 'torn to pieces' after reading their caption

Elle claims that her intentions were purely to collaborate, but she feels that the hotel's intentions were to put her on blast, and were purely 'malicious.'

'I was embarrassed, I felt humiliated,' she said in the opening of the video.

'I don't really know what their intent was, it was just malicious and nasty and it didn't come from a good place.'

Elle then explained that she felt that the post was intended to draw hate onto her page.

A post shared by ELLE (@elledarby_) on

The fitness blogger then went on to tell her viewers that she had been contacted by a number of other bloggers who gave her support after the post went completely viral.

Elle also described how she is aware that bloggers are seen as always receiving glamorous freebies and admits 'it's a perk of the job.'

'You still have to work your arse off to get that discount or that day out for free. You're gifted these amazing things from different brands and it's seen as so glamorous, but it's work. You have to create content for that brand. Content that is worth watching. '

A post shared by ELLE (@elledarby_) on

Elle also felt that the hate was more disparaging than usual as it came from 'older people.'

'Move with the times people. It made me so sad to see that the majority of these comments were from the older generation.'

'How the hell are children supposed to learn the qualities of being a nice decent person who encourages others to go for their dreams, if they are being raised by people who are so bitter about their jobs and the way their lives turned out that they have to take to the internet to write disgustingly degrading comments to a 22-year-old female who actually did nothing wrong.'

'The only reason people got their backs up is because they don't take the time to get to know the blogging industry. They have absolutely no idea what social media is nowadays,' she continued in the video.

A post shared by Gilly(@gillianlawler) on

'I just think it's so heartbreaking that there are so many creative, young, talented people out there who have so much to offer, and they are scared of putting themselves out there on the internet because of things like this. '

In a direct dig at the post, Elle said: 'That man's Facebook page is full of roasting people.'

'And you know what? It's going to come around to him.'

'If you live a life of solely, maliciously, degrading people for their honest attempts at bettering themselves you're not going to get anywhere.'

'My intent was literally just to see if he wanted to do business with me in a polite, respectful way.'

'His response came from a completely dark, nasty place.'

Elle's video has been met with a mixed response from viewers.

'Wow how unprofessional why would somebody do that over a simple question?' said one.

'Unprofessional? "Professional" means he is looking out for the best interests of his CUSTOMERS, and seeing as this snowflake isn't in that group, he was entitled to call out this vapid freeloader,' reads the response from another viewer.

'By being so malicious he has done a disservice to his own business, because who would want to stay at a hotel where there's a chance the owners ego trumps that of the guest's visiting the establishment.'

'I truly would never want to stay there. Don't let his lack of business skills put a damper on your day,' said another.

However, others continue to voice the opinion that the blogging industry is rife with freeloaders.

Since the video was uploaded, the cafe has issued a biting, satirical apology to the blogging community.

'I am so sorry that I didn't think of you guys until now. You are a much more lucrative group of people to piss off than the vegans and the gluten intolerant combined,' reads the statement.

After the success of last year's Strike 4 Repeal, abortion rights activists have come together once again to plan the second strike.

Last year saw 4,500 people take to the streets of Dublin on International Women's Day to demonstrate their destain for the 8th amendment.

Since, Repealers have been patiently awaiting the announcement of the second strike assembly, and that day has come.

'A historic debate is taking place today in Dáil Éireann. See you there at 5pm for the #strikeassembly,' reads a post on the Strike 4 Repeal Instagram page.

Since the last strike, the government has guaranteed that there will be a referendum on the 8th amendment this year.

However, there still has not been confirmation as to how the referendum question will be phrased or whether or not the 8th amendment will be abolished in it's entirety should a referendum be successful.

A post shared by Strike4Repeal (@strike4repeal) on

'The #StrikeAssembly will gather at Leinster House on the last day of the Dail debate on the referendum to let our politicians know that we won't accept anything less than straight repeal and full abortion rights,' reads another post on the page.

Don your repeal jumper guys and girls…

A murder inquiry into the discovery of a an infant on a beach in Co Kerry in 1984 has begun, according to The Irish Times.

The baby boy was found over 30 years ago with multiple stab wounds, washed up on White Strand beach in Cahersiveen, Kerry, on April 14 of that year.

The inquiry follows a Garda apology to Joanne Hayes, the woman who was wrongly accused of the murder at the time.

Hayes, who was 24 at the time, was accused of having given birth to the infant and then murdering him.

A full DNA profile has been established for a baby, known as Baby John.

It has been established that Baby John's DNA does not match the DNA of anyone whose information is stored in the State's DNA database.

'We are investigating Baby’s John death as if it happened today,' Det Chief Supt Walter O’Sullivan told The Irish Times.

'It is accepted that the original investigation fell short of what was required and expected of a professional police service, but I want to reassure the public that this will be a thorough and professional investigation,' Superintendent Flor Murphy said.

'While this investigation team cannot change what happened in the past, we can help find the answers into what happened to Baby John and are determined to do so.'

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in Cahersiveen in April 1984 to come forward if they have any information about the case.

YouTuber Logan Paul faced major criticism two weeks ago after uploading a video of a deceased suicide victim to his 15 million subscribers.

The content creator visited Aokigahara, also known as the suicide forest due to the high number of suicides that occur there.

While there, Paul discovered the body of an individual who has taken their own life, filmed their body, and made a vlog about it.

Since then, the YouTuber has apologised in a brief video, and has been disgraced by his actions.

The videographer has been staying out of the spotlight ever since, but had a message for critics when he was spotted by TMZ at a Los Angeles airport yesterday.

When asked about the situation, Logan Paul told paparazzi that: ‘Everyone deserves second chances, bro.’

The internet celebrity was also asked what he had learned from his mistake, to which he replied: ‘Everything. So many things.’

Paps also asked the creator when a more thorough response and explanation for his actions could be expected.

The answer? ‘Soon,’ apparently.

His apology video has been viewed almost 45 million times on YouTube since the scandal broke.
