Home and Away actress Jessica Falkholt dies following car crash

 

Home and Away actress Jessica Falkholt has passed away following a tragic car crash that also claimed the lives of her parents and her sister.

The actress received serious injuries in the accident, which left her on life-support for nearly three weeks.

St George’s Hospital in Sydney released a statement following her death, stating that the young woman died at 10:20 am on Wednesday after her life support was turned off on Friday.

The Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts honoured the late actress this morning.

They tweeted, 'Vale Jessica Falkholt. The Australian actress has passed away following a major crash on Boxing Day that claimed the lives of her mother, father and sister. Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones.'

The producers of the Aussie soap, where the actress played Hope Morrison until 2016, paid tribute to her: 'Jessica’s shining talent was recognised and respected by all her castmates and crew and her beautiful friendship treasured.'

Home and Away star Jackson Heywood also shared a touching tribute: 'Jess. You and your beautiful soul will be so deeply missed but always remembered. Be with your family now.'

Her agent Lisa Mann added: 'Beautiful Jess was loved and treasured by her family, friends and colleagues and our sympathies are with everyone today.'

The St Stephen’s Day car crash also claimed the life of another driver who was named as 50-year-old Craig Whitall.

Her parents Lars and Vivian, and her 21-year-old sister Annabelle were laid to rest last week.
