Following the news that Ant McPartlin was involved in a collision with two other cars in Richmond, West London while driving his Mini last month, the presenter has pleaded guilty to drink driving.

Today, he has been ordered to pay what is believed to be the biggest ever drink-drive fine in Britain after he was caught more than double the legal limit in a car crash.

The 42-year-old was fined £86,000 after pleading guilty to drink driving and banned from the road for 20 months.

He said he is "truly sorry for what happened " outside the Wimbledon Magistrates Court.

The court heard that Ant had 75mg of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – twice the legal limit, according to The Telegraph.

"I just want to say that I'm truly sorry," he said outside court. "Higher standards are expected of me. I expect them of myself. I let myself down. I let a lot of people down and for that, I am truly sorry."

He added: "I would like to apologise to everybody involved in the crash and I am just thankful that nobody was seriously hurt in this."

Of the accident, the Metropolitan Police said one of the passengers of the cars was a child, The Guardian reported. They explained that the little one was taken to hospital in order to be checked as a precaution.

Ant was arrested after failing a roadside breathalyser test. A spokesperson for the Met noted that he was 'taken to a south London police station for questioning and has since been released under investigation'.

He is taking time off from TV and seeking treatment "for the foreseeable future" following the accident and charge, according to his publicist.

Summer is well and truly on the way, and I've already started packing for my holiday in June.

Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.

Anyway, I have a few new swimsuits, some cute sandals and loads of swishy dresses.

However, the one thing I always struggle to buy is sun cream – because it's gross most of the time.

Let's be honest, if we never had to wear sun cream ever again, the world would be a better place.

Related image

It's sticky, gloopy and usually pretty bloody annoying to rub in!

That was until the gorge humans at Garnier came up with what they're calling the 'micellar water of sun care'.

So, what goes on?

This shiny new creation is called Ambre Solaire UV Water, and it has been specially formulated to give you a refreshing, hydrating and transparent sun care experience.

The formula is enriched with aloe vera and vitamin E, and is so light you'd almost forget you're wearing anything. (Ned Flanders vibes).

"For years we've worked to create formulas that are lighter, less white, non-sticky and non-greasy," said Khaled Boulemdarat, Research and Innovation Scientist at Garnier said.

"In creating this product, we wanted to offer Ireland not only the best protection, but also make sunscreen application a real pleasure."

This is on my to-get list for the summer months!

A Tipperary entrepreneur is to open Ireland's first adults-only cafe this summer.

This is the idea of Alan Andrews who says the adults-only cafe in the Old Barracks Coffee Roastery in Birdhill, Co Tipperary is meant to be for those who want a bit of 'me-time' and a place that isn't necessarily full of kids.

“The thought process behind it is, we are a roastery, so it’s a manufacturing place," he told the Limerick Leader

“Second of all, I think all adults are entitled to a bit of me time. And it’s really important for life balance that you can go somewhere and you know there won’t be kids there screaming or running around or spilling stuff on the floor."

We can appreciate why some parents, in particular, may not find the idea too appealing, but Andrews, who is a parent himself, speaks of an important life-balance issue in mindfulness and says that people should have a dedicated space for downtime or peace and quiet away from the general craziness of daily life, as much as they have the option to bring their kids along.

“I have got kids but I want to know that there’s a place I can go to where I’m going to have some peace and quiet and read a book or a newspaper. We want to give people that one hour to enjoy their cup of coffee and get some mindfulness. I think that is really important for people. We’ve ran a campaign for Mental Health Ireland," he continued.

Also, Parker is a successful entrepreneur – he also owns educational and training facility Coffee Culture in Dublin – who is one of many who finds their niche target market and caters to this. It isn't discriminatory.

And as it's Ireland's first adult-only cafe, there's a place for it; the alternative for people who choose a little peace and quiet (many of whom are parents) is the pub…or the library, neither of which are best known for their coffee or the environment that goes with it.

What do you make of the plans for the cafe?

I can safely say that there was mass heart break when the One Direction lads decided to go their separate ways.

However, I get such joy in knowing that they're all doing well.

The star of the show? Harry Styles, who is taking to the stage tonight in Dublin for a sold out gig.

Yes, I will be in attendance, alongside thousands of other hardcore fans.

Anyway, if you are heading to the gig tonight, there's a few things you should know.

Stage times.

So the doors of the Three Arena will open from 6.30pm. Mabel, the glorious support act, will take the stage around 8pm, with Mr Styles kicking off his performance at 9pm, all going well. These times are, of course, subject to change.

How to get there.

There is parking available in the Point Village car-park, which can be prebooked on Ticketmaster, however concert-goers are encouraged to leave their cars at home and to use the red line Luas or use Dublin Bus. The 151 operates every 10 minutes during rush hour and it will drop you on Castleforbes Road, the closest stop to the venue.

Security.

Much like every other gig at the Three, all bags will be searched upon entry. Bottles, cans, selfie sticks, large umbrellas, iPads/tablets, video cameras, professional cameras, audio recording devices, Go-Pro, large posters (A3+), large flags on poles, belt chains, laser pointers and anything that can be deemed a weapon are prohibited.

Set list.

Now this one is a wild guess, but we're basically showing you what Harry played in Glasgow last week – how AMAZING does it look?

  • Only Angel
  • Woman
  • Ever Since New York
  • Two Ghosts
  • Carolina
  • Stockholm Syndrome (One Direction song)
  • Just a Little Bit of Your Heart (Ariana Grande cover)
  • Medicine
  • Meet Me in the Hallway
  • Sweet Creature
  • If I Could Fly (One Direction song)

We all have bad days, they're unavoidable.

We come home after a particularly long day, and all we want to do is climb into the bed and relax.

This article will give our readers tips on how they can truly unwind after a day on the grind (hey look, a mini poem!).

From breathing exercises, to simply sticking the kettle on and milling into a packet of digestives. We all need an way to relax.

5. Mini-yoga

While exercise may not be the most desirable activity to take on as soon as we get in the door, taking the time to complete some yoga moves can combat stress and help increase your fitness and flexibility.

Shake out the exercise mat and pop on a quick, relaxing yoga tutorial on YouTube.

Even if you just manage 20 minutes of gentle stretching, prepare to feel more mindful and peaceful.

4. Pet ALL the animals

So it is actually scientifically proven that spending time with animals relieves stress, and calms the soul – and we're so down.

If you're lucky enough to have a cat or dog (or any sort of furry friend), hold them close and cuddle them.

You'll find yourself unwinding by the second… pure bliss.

3. Try baking (no seriously)

You may or may not be any use at it, but baking is a fantastic way to relax and settle the mind.

There is something very therapeutic about following instructions, mixing them all together and watching the finished product come out of the oven.

2. Get into your bed

Genuinely, there is just no better feeling than climbing into bed after a lengthy day of sending emails, pointless meetings and generally working our butts off.

To be honest, we'd actually take a new pair of PJs and some Netflix in bed over a night on the town every.single.time!

Curl up with your hot water bottle, and relax.

1. A cup of tea and a chat

Possibly the best (and most simple) way to unwind on this marvellous list – sure just stick the kettle on.

There's nothing better than pouring yourself a nice cuppa, cracking open a packet of chocolate digestives and having a little pause.

Brought to you by

That all-important first bite of your first biscuit brings an instant hit of joy to your day. And why not pass them around to family and friends? Life get’s hectic, but all deserve a break every now and then. There is no better way to relax than with your nearest and dearest. McVitie’s brings us together to with every bite of happiness – and these are the moments worth sharing.

A pilot study has found encouraging results regarding ovarian cancer, namely, that a personalised vaccine for this particular type of cancer can nearly double the two-year survival rate.

This personalised vaccine reprogrammed the immune cells of the cancer patients so that they recognised the women's tumours and could thus combat cancerous cells.

The study involved 25 women and was published in the journal Science Translational Medicine.

78 percent of the women given the vaccine, along with immunology drugs, have survived for two years. Only 44 percent of women survived for two years when they were just given immunology drugs.

In order to make the vaccine, immune cells from the patient's blood were exposed to cells from the woman's tumour in order to train them to identify and then initiate an attack against cancerous cells.

The senior author of the study, Dr. Lana Kandalaft, told the Telegraph, “The patients who received the vaccine mounted an immune response against their own tumours.”

As well, the more anti-cancerous cells the patients' bodies produced after the vaccine, the longer the women survived.

Dr. Kandalaft explained: “Ovarian cancer is a silent killer which when diagnosed is usually in its advanced stage.

“A combination of chemotherapy and surgery is usually the standard of care in the primary setting, but 85 percent of patients recur and are left with few other curative options.

“It was demonstrated that about 55 percent of ovarian cancer patients have a spontaneous immune response, and this response actually correlates with better overall survival in these patients.”

After one year, all of the women who received the vaccine were still alive. Only 60 percent of the women who just received the immunology drugs were still alive at one year.

Dr. Kandalaft said that rolling out these personalised vaccines should be fairly straightforward, as the immunology drugs used alongside them are commonly used to treat ovarian cancer.

"We aren't giving patients any completely new drugs in combination with this personalised vaccine," she said.

"Bevacizumab and cyclophosphamide are routinely used to treat recurrent ovarian cancer. All we did was add the vaccine. This means that we should be able to easily integrate this personalised immunotherapy into the current standard of care for recurrent ovarian cancer."

This pilot study's results are welcome news, considering that ovarian cancer is the sixth most common cancer among British women. More than 7,400 new cases are diagnosed in the UK each year.

While we loved the 2001 heist film Ocean's Eleven, there was a little something missing from it: an all-female cast of our favourite actresses.

Ocean's 8 is set to remedy that, and we are absolutely buzzing with excitement.

This film follows Danny's sister, Debbie Ocean (the inimitable Sandra Bullock), as she plans to steal $150 million in diamonds, right off an actress' neck at the Met Gala.

She's joined by a top-notch team on this action adventure: her right-hand woman Lou Miller (Cate Blanchett), jeweler Amita (Mindy Kaling), street con Constance (rapper and actress Awkwafina), hacker Nine Ball (Rihanna), fashion designer Rose (Helena Bonham Carter), and fence Tammy (Sarah Paulson).

The gems they're stealing will be worn by actress Daphne Kluger (Anne Hathaway), and the plan will have to go off without a hitch if they're going to get away with it.

Needless to say, we can't wait for this film to come out!

We'll have to wait a bit longer to get our heist film fix, as Ocean's 8 will be in cinemas on June 22.

Think you'll be watching this movie with your own partners-in-crime?

Wearing a bathing suit or a bikini can be quite a daunting experience for many women.

We can’t help but feel exposed and self-conscious about the parts of our body that we aren’t too fond of. Giovanna Fletcher has penned the most inspiring post about why we all need to embrace our bodies for what they are because comparing yourself to others is a waste of time.

She posted a photo where she is wearing a black bathing suit and messing about in the pool in Disneyland. Holidaying in the happiest place on Earth may seem perfect, but those worries and self-conscious thoughts often prop up no matter where you are.

Talking about ‘real’ bodies can’t be done without body shaming those who have the bodies we’ve been relentlessly told we should strive to achieve, which really goes against what praising and embracing our different body shapes is meant to do in the first place. ‘Real’ bodies, ‘real’ women, ‘real’ mums… I’m pretty sure we’re all ‘real’ no matter our sizes, if we have flawless skin or cellulite and stretch marks, or if we’re an apple, pear, oval, diamond or hourglass. Our bodies should be seen as wonderfully unique, not something to be ashamed of – or something people might judge us over. Question actions and words, but not a body’s inability to ever achieve a thigh gap, someone’s muscular abs, slender frame or a wobbly bingo wing. I still have moments where I doubt myself, where I think before stripping down to my swimwear, but then I remember how much my body has given me (and continues to give me) and I decide to get into that blooming pool and splash around with my beautiful boys. Better than that, I love every second. Don’t let your body hold you back, whatever your shape and size. Don’t judge or compare. Be you… be the best you in that moment. Xxx

The author said that everyone has a ‘real’ body regardless of its shape. “We’re all ‘real’ no matter our sizes, if we have flawless skin or cellulite and stretch marks, or if we’re an apple, pear, oval, diamond or hourglass.”

She believes that we should all accept our bodies for what they are and not to waste time worrying about what we think they should look like.

Comparing ourselves to others is a pointless battle. “Our bodies should be seen as wonderfully unique, not something to be ashamed of – or something people might judge us over.”

She urged her followers not to judge people by their appearance, “Question actions and words, but not a body’s inability to ever achieve a thigh gap, someone’s muscular abs, slender frame or a wobbly bingo wing.”

The Billy and Me author admitted that she still has doubts about her looks. She admitted that she often feels nervous about wearing her swimwear, as many of us do, but we need to stop those thoughts from taking over.

There is one thing that helps Giovanna move passed those doubts, “I remember how much my body has given me (and continues to give me) and I decide to get into that blooming pool and splash around with my beautiful boys.”

She encouraged her followers to enjoy the moment, “Don’t let your body hold your back, whatever your shape and size. Don’t judge or compare. Be you… be the best you at that moment,” she shared.

Giovanna’s moving words are ones we all need to live by.

I think it is fairly safe to say that gin is the hottest drink right now.

This gorgeous new bar will be stocked with over 500 different gins, and it is my goal in life to try each and every one of them.

However, there will be more to Hyde Bar than just the gin – with groovy interiors that are an influencer's dream.

There will be a flower wall. I repeat, A FLOWER WALL.

Our flower wall is almost there. Now for the install next week. #ComingSoon #Galway #Flower

The walls of the bar have also been carefully designed by graffiti artist Kathrina Ruperit, and it really looks amazing.

Having stalked their Instagram, it would appear as though Hyde Bar is in possession of the famous Unicorn Tears gin.
