GoFundMe has now become the only major peer-to-peer fundraising platform in Ireland that does not charge a platform fee, which GoFundMe CEO Rob Solomon calls a  'win-win move'.

This development is quite exciting considering the millions of euro that have been donated to worthy causes on GoFundMe Ireland.

Recently, nearly €80,000 was raised by Emmet Kavanagh, who runs Irish Liverpool Reds Facebook page, to support the family of Sean Cox. Sean was stabbed outside Anfield before the Champions League match against Roma.

The outpouring of support is astounding, and Sean's life is one of many that have been affected by the fundraising platform.

“We’ve been amazed by the generosity of people in Ireland since we launched here," noted GoFundMe's CEO.

He added, "We’re looking forward to seeing more people giving and getting the help they need.”

Indeed, the generosity of the Irish public has been overwhelming, as approximately one in every 15 people Ireland have made a donation through GoFundMe.

GoFundMe Ireland launched two years ago, and the elimination of a platform fee marks its 10,000th campaign.

This zero percent platform fee applies to new campaigns for personal causes. GoFundMe's users will still be charged an industry standard payment processing fee of 2.5 percent plus 25 cents.

The company will now cover customer service, safety precautions, and technology costs with voluntary tips from donors. This pricing change has been successfully launched in the US, UK, and Canada as well.

“As we’ve rolled this new model out in the US, we've had a huge amount of positive feedback from our community," Rob said, "It’s a win-win move, and we think people in Ireland will recognise the outstanding service we provide – and now we’re offering that service for free."

We are ecstatic to hear that GoFundMe is becoming more accessible by eliminating its platform fee.

Kate and Gerry McCann have honoured their daughter Madeleine in a touching post on her eleventh anniversary. Their daughter went missing during a family holiday to Portugal in 2007.

On the anniversary of her abduction, her parents wrote, “It gets harder to know what to say or write as each anniversary of Madeleine’s abduction approaches then passes.”

They continued, “Life is full and busy which helps, but Madeleine is still missing and she is still dearly missed.”

Madeleine’s missing person’s case has been one of the most high-profile cases in the United Kingdom, with the British government investing more than £11 million tin finding Madeleine.

The parents shared that Madeleine’s case is constantly developing, “Information continues to come in (incredible as it may seem after so long, although we are grateful for that) and work goes on. Perseverance and hope remain.”

They thanked the public for the never-ending support, which helps keep them focused on finding Madeleine, “After eleven years such warmth and persisting solidarity is truly remarkable and at the same time a real tonic and boost to our spirit.”

“We couldn’t bear for Madeleine to be forgotten or to become just a ‘story’. She is a real person and still our ‘little girl’ and as we always have, we will endeavour to do whatever it takes to find her,” they wrote.

They shared, “Thank you so much for staying with us on this mission.”

Her parents have said in the past that they will never give up hope of finding their eldest daughter and they are grateful for the continued investigation.

May 12, 2018, marks Madeleine’s fourteenth birthday.

Sale Sharks have released a statement saying they have no intention of signing Paddy Jackson or Stuart Olding.

Reports yesterday suggested that the players had been offered deals by the English Premiership side after their contracts were terminated by the IRFU following an internal review last month.

"We can confirm there is no substance to the rumours currently circulating in relation to the signing of the two international rugby players Paddy Jackson and Stuart Olding," the statement read.

“Our search continues for top class players to bolster the squad for next season.”

According to Press Association Sport, Sales did explore the possibility of taking on the former Ulster team-mates, though the club's hierarchy decided against it.

Both players were involved in a high-profile rape trial earlier this year, and although they were found not guilty, the IRFU concluded that their actions did not adhere to the game's core values: "Respect, inclusivity and integrity."

At the time, the IRFU also announced that they intend to ensure that these core values are applied across the board.

"It has been agreed, as part of this commitment, to conduct an in-depth review of existing structures and educational programmes, within the game in Ireland, to ensure the importance of these core values is clearly understood, supported and practised at every level of the game."

All eyes are on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as they prepare to tie the knot in the ceremony of the century on May 19.

From the all-important dress to the larger than life flower arrangements, we're dying to see how the big day plays out – but it seems not everyone feels the same way about the upcoming nuptials.

In a handwritten letter addressed to Prince Harry, Meghan's half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr, insisted it's not "too late" to call off the wedding.

According to In Touch magazine, the 51-year-old, who has not seen his sister since 2011, claimed that Harry and Meghan's marriage would be "the biggest mistake in royal wedding history."

"As more time passes to your royal wedding, it became very clear that this is the biggest mistake in royal wedding history," he wrote.

"Meghan Markle is obviously not the right woman for you."

Thomas, who did not receive and invite to the royal wedding, referred to Meghan as a "jaded, shallow, conceited woman," and told Harry she would make "a joke of the royal family hertiage."

He continued: "Not to mention, to top it all off, she doesn’t invite her own family and instead invites complete strangers to the wedding. Who does that?"

"You and the royal family should put an end to this fake fairytale wedding before it’s too late."

Speaking to The Mirror, Thomas insisted he was not hurt over the invite snub – “I’m not bitter, just baffled. It’s hurtful given how close we once were.”

Neither Harry nor Meghan has responded to the letter.

We are oh-so-lucky today because Hulu announced it has renewed the chilling series The Handmaid's Tale!

The show, based on Margaret Atwood's equally disturbing novel, has been a critical success so far. It's already garnered over eight Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards – and that's just scratching the surface of its accolades.

While we're not entirely surprised that the acclaimed drama series has been renewed, we are still so thrilled we get to follow June and others as they attempt to survive in Gilead.

The Handmaid's Tale may be difficult to watch at times, but it is undeniably an addictive series. The captivating show recently returned for its second season, and we are already finding ourselves glued to our couches.

Twitter lit up with excitement upon hearing that our favourite dystopian programme is getting a third season:

Think you'll be tuning in for season three?

Yesterday, David Beckham celebrated his 43rd birthday with his wife Victoria Beckham, and three of their children, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper.

David and Victoria’s eldest son Brooklyn was missing from the celebrations as he is currently studying photography at private art and design college Parsons School of Design, which is located in Manhattan in New York City.

However, much to David’s delight, his eldest son was actually on a flight from New York to London, and the video of their reunion will leave you in floods of tears.

Victoria shared a video of the touching moment on her Instagram account. Pass the tissues, please!

She wrote, “The biggest surprise of the day… Welcome home @brooklynbeckham X happy birthday @davidbeckham I love u so much x kisses”

The dad-of-four choked back the tears as he turned around to see Brooklyn walk into the restaurant where they were enjoying a birthday meal.

It’s safe to say David was overcome with emotion as he struggled to hold back his tears, and repeatedly asked Brooklyn “what are you doing here?”

As David and Brooklyn hug, Harper says, “I didn’t know Brooklyn was coming.”

David also shared the moving reunion video on Instagram, “Best birthday surprise, my big boy coming home,” he wrote.

Brooklyn’s move to the United States hasn’t been easy on David or Victoria, with the doting parents admitting that they miss their eldest boy so much.

Last year, Victoria shared, “I’m still crying. Brooklyn’s moved to New York. I haven’t stopped crying. I miss him so much – so much.”

This month, District Magazine is giving a platform to male voices on the upcoming referendum to Repeal the 8th Amendment.

The impact of the 8th amendment affects everyone, male, female and non-binary.

Anna Cosgrave, founder of Repeal Project, is the Guest Editor of this month's Guide to Dublin City.

'On May 25, every single vote counts and we wanted to give you a chance to understand why yours really matters,' Anna said of the issue.

'Politics can be polarising, it’s easy to be disenfranchised, not really bothered and, frankly, just unsure. Abortion isn’t a divisive issue, you may have been made feel that way, that you can’t ask questions that you don’t have a place in this national conversation.'

'Well you do, and believe me you are forgiven for thinking that it’s not your place to voice an opinion.'

'The silencing of women's lived experiences on this issue has rendered this conversation hard to have. What’s truly messed up is if we stand idle and complacent and allow the status quo to be upheld.'

'I haven’t met a man or boy who can look me in the face and say he would force a women to carry a pregnancy against her will. I have met and chatted with men and boys who are confused, unsure and a little bit nervous. We hope this issue of the Guide to Dublin City alleviates some of those fears, confusions and nervousness.'

'This issue focuses on a number of male allies, from sport, music, film and farther afield who support Together For Yes and will be voting Yes on May 25. Someone you love has had an abortion. That's the reality. 11 more will leave the country you call home tomorrow.'

You can order District Magazine online, and have it delivered or pick it up from their Dublin offices.

Niamh Cullen has been keeping us all in awe with her Pinterest-worthy fetival attire in recent weeks.

However, it's the stylist and bloggers day-to-day looks that have us adding-to-cart.

Polka-dots are one of the summer's biggest fashion trends, and if there is any Intsa-influencers pulling off the look, it's Niamh:

The contrasting cut

A post shared by Niamh Cullen (@niamhcullenx) on

While polka dots are a statement in themselves, pairing the pattern with a fiercely cut dress can bring them from the beachwalk to the boardroom and back.

Teaming the print with a ruffle sleeve or contrasting panelling adds interest, with  minimal accessories needed.

Selected Femme dotted blazer €129.99, ASOS Spot Smock Mini Dress €58.07, Tea Dress in Washed Spot €41.48

The statement spot

Large, all over polka dots make a massive statement on the most pared back of dress shapes.

Niamh looks particularly chic in her square cut slip dress from Topshop, paired with narrow, red, 90s style sunglasses and layered gold necklaces.

Make the look your own by flinging a denim jacket over top, with a pair of white runners or chunky black boots.

Spot Button Down Playsuit €29.00, Square Neck Mini Slip Dress €40.00, White Cami dress €46.00

The spotted sleeve

While living it up in Las Vegas, Niamh snatched the title of most stylish with her baloon-sleeved bandeau top.

Introduce the hot print to your wardrobe with a wear-with-anything blouse – be it a leather skirt, your favourite jeans or a pair of denim cut-offs.

Oversized shirt €15.00, Satin polka dot crop top €15.00, Black twist front polka dot top €27.00

While anonymous blogs and social media pages seem to be having a bit of a moment, the OG is the unabashed Dublin Girlo.

From her Dublin-centric turn of phrase to her musings on day to day life in the capitol, you would be hard pushed to find a more relatable page for original Dubs and those who ventured to the big smoke in search of work or a degree.

As Dublin Girlo celebrates five years of sharing her 'trials and tribulations' with the world, we're looking back on some of our fave lines from the online star.

1.

Never one to shy away from discussing current social an political issues in a unique manner, Dublin Girlo summed up her feelings about No voters in one savage tweet.

Through the years of impeccably delivered one-liners, the anonymous blogger has always used her platform to champion women's issues, and promote progressive thinking.

2.

Pop culture commentary is Dublin Girlo's bread and butter ( spice bag and Coke), and when we spotted this quote from her, we were roaring laughing.

Referring of course to those pictures of Rita Ora and Conor McGregor at last year's British Fashion Awards, we would honestly frame this work of art and hang it in our hallway.

3.

Making a Murderer may have been all Twitter could talk about when the Netflix show was released, but no one quite grasped the seriousness of the sub plots quite like Dublin Girlo.

Literally, who are these people who lust after alleged murderers? Where can we find them?

4.

Festival season comes and festival season goes, but not a single summer is complete without a zinger about festival fashion from Dublin Girlo.

Roast us for our glitter brows and our coin belts gal, we deserve it.

5.

At a time when there is stigma attached to female sexuality, no one is normalising women's pleasure quite like Dublin Girlo.

Lads have been making dick jokes for years – now it's our turn.

Any Harry Potter fan worth their weight in chocolate frogs will know that today, May 2, marks the anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts.

The climatic war between good and evil, which played out in the final book Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, was responsible for the deaths of some of the series' best-loved characters.

Every year, JK Rowling honours those fallen soldiers by apologising for their brutal and untimely deaths – and this year is no different.

Tweeting this morning, the author paid tribute to the one and only, Dobby the house elf.

“This year, I apologise for killing someone who didn’t die during the #BattleofHogwarts, but who laid down his life to save the people who’d win it," she wrote.

“I refer, of course, to Dobby the house elf.”

For those od you who don't remember, Dobby suffered a knife wound at the hands of Bellatrix Lestrange while trying to save Harry and his friends from the Death Eaters.

A true hero. In life and in death.

Rowling has previously apologised for the deaths of Severus Snape, Fred Weasley and Remus Lupin.
