We've all been finding it surprisingly mild of late, so it makes sense we'd be due a right old shock to our systems, doesn't it?

And this weekend, we're going to get it.

According to those in the know,  a cold weather snap is currently making its way through Europe, and we're about to experience the tail end of it.

Met Éireann have advised the public that we are in for frosty conditions over the next 48 hours, with temperartures set to drop to as low as -3.

Tonight will be cold and clear while Saturday will kick off with frosty conditions and icy stretches which will stay put across the weekend before clearing as we head into next week.

Oh, joy!

The voiceover challenge is sweeping the Youtube world, and everyone from hilarious dads to clueless boyfriends have been narrating their lady's tutorials.

However, Youtuber Ellarie has commissioned the voiceover talents of her adorable five-year-old daughter.

For her electric blue tutorial, the single mum roped her daughter in to create the single most heart warming Youtube tutorial on the planet.

Yoshidoll appears in many of her mum's videos, as they chat all things makeup and beauty on her channel.

Yoshidoll clearly has her mother's talent for makeup application, but got a bit muddled when it cme to knowing the exact names of products and methods used.

In true superstar style, the kindergartener improvised wherever she stumbled, referring to blending as "blushing' and false eyelashes as 'super eyebrows.'

Highlights include commentary on Kylie Jenner's Christmas palette shades to and singing. Lots of adorable singing.

Instagram makeup challenges usually involve creating an entire look using glitter, contouring with household objects or creating an a full face look using only Kylie Cosmetics, but there's a new makeup challenge with a difference doing the rounds.

Beauty Youtuber Li'l Moonchild, otherwise known as Yasaman Gheidi is using makeup to raise awareness about mental illnesses in an attempt to lessen the stigma surrounding mental disorders.

The 27-year-old makeup maven uploaded a touching video to YouTube in which she utilises makeup as a means to portray the emotions she's privately been struggling with.

The blogger uploaded the look to Instagram and shared her story, describing how she attended a work dinner party, but was forced to leave after suffering a massive panic and anxiety attack.

The following day, Yasaman was concerned that her co-workers would have noticed her swift disappearance and questioned it.

"Why did I have to be ashamed and lie about my anxiety attack? So many wonderful and amazing people suffer from the same mental illnesses that I do on a daily basis."

"Why can't we just talk about it openly? This experience along with many others inspired my 'Inside Out Challenge'"

A photo posted by Britt Gorman (@bat.barbie) on

The challenge, which takes it's name from Disney Pixar film Inside Out, which showcases the tumultuous emotions felt by young people, encouraged people to show what they or others feel on the inside through the external medium of makeup.

The challenge has been picked up by hundreds of budding MUAs, some of which have been brave enough to also share their stories of anxiety, depression and self esteem issues.

"Together we CAN chip away at this stigma, we CAN make a difference, and we CAN make the world a kinder place," says Yasaman.

"Just by doing this challenge you are MAKING A DIFFERENCE!" said Yasaman in an Instagram post.

"You are not only starting an important dialogue about mental health, but you are also telling your friends and family that they are not alone in their struggles, and most importantly you are proving to yourself than you are one incredibly BRAVE person."

And with 62% of Irish people admitting that they would not want others knowing if they themselves had a mental health problem, and up to 65% of people saying that being treated for a mental health problem is viewed by Irish society as a sign of failure, it's definitely a makeup challenge with meaning.

A video showing a man lowering a struggling dog into fast flowing water has surfaced and since gone viral online this week.

The video was shot on the set of A Dogs Purpose, a film about a dog who is reincarnated and searches for purpose through his multiple lives.

The uncomfortable scene shows the stressed German Shepherd, named Hercules, being forced to perform in artificial rapids.

The video has casued outrage online, with animal rights activist organisations such as PRTA calling for a boycott of the film.

In the midst of the controversy, Universal and Amblin who are producing the film, called off this weekend's planned premier.

"Because Amblin’s review into the edited video released yesterday is still ongoing, distributor Universal Pictures has decided it is in the best interest of A Dog’s Purpose to cancel this weekend’s premiere and press junket," the Hollywood company told Time.

"Amblin and Universal do not want anything to overshadow this film that celebrates the relationship between humans and animals."

PETA started a hashtag on Twitter called #BoycottADogsPurpose.

The hashtag has spawned hundreds of tweets from shocked animal lovers.

"Watching that poor dog being forced in water, so scared he has to cling on the wall makes me cry and sick to my stomach," said one concerned viewer.

"I couldn't be more excited to see this movie until I saw the horrible truth behind it. Stop animal cruelty," said another.

Amblin and Universal have since stated that Hercules was not harmed in the filming of the movie.

"Since the emergence of the footage, Amblin has engaged with many associated with the production of the film, including safety personnel, trainers and stunt coordinators as part of their in-depth review."

"While we are all disheartened by the appearance of an animal in distress, everyone has assured us that Hercules the German Shepherd was not harmed throughout the filmmaking.”

Going away on your holliers is probably one of the best experiences.

The excitement builds as you wake up early and head to the airport, and the minute you reach the plane, you can finally forget about all the bothersome things happening at home.

Ah, relaaax.

But wait, what's that? Ouch… Yep, someone is kicking your seat.

Whether it's a child who doesn't know any better or an adult kneeing you in the back, it's super annoying and frustrating.

And it looks like many agree with us, as a recent survey by Expedia has found that a 'Rear Seat Kicker' is the most annoying thing to happen to you when flying.

But of course, that's not the only troublesome thing that someone can do while on a plane. According to the New York Post, here are the top ten major irritants:

Since New Years (or even before that), the question has been on everyone's lips – are Drake and J Lo a thing?

They seemed mighty cosy over the festive period, dancing and heading out for dinner together.

But, now Jennifer has confirmed that she's making music with Drake, which makes us think… was the dancing and flirtation all for show?

A photo posted by Jennifer Lopez (@jlo) on

Because let's be honest – it looked pretty hot and heavy.

The pair have collaborated on an upcoming song together, but Jen has hinted that there could be more, telling Entertainment Tonight: "He just asked me to do a song with him and that’s what we’ve been doing. We’ll see if it’s on his next album.”

So far, it's unclear if the collab will pop up on Drake's upcoming tour, or if it'll be featured on a different project.

Either way, we'll be keeping our eyes on these two.

We're super excited about First Dates Ireland returning to our TV screens tonight.

Like many people watching the show, after five minutes, we think the daters are our own best friends and we cheer them on through our TV screens.

So, that's why we were delighted to hear that a couple from the last series are still together. Yay!

You might remember Ciaran Farrell from last year – he was a self-confessed shy man, but of course, viewers loved him even more for it.

He was set up with Katie Greene on the show, and now, the couple are just about the celebrate their first anniversary of being a couple.

Speaking to Ryan Tubridy on his radio show, Katie, who now lives in Toronto, explained their situation.

"I knew when I was doing the show that I was moving to Canada, so in the beginning, we took things quite slow. Then I moved to Toronto in June and we were in constant contact, talking every day.

"We actually had a great date, a really natural and fun date. Everyone thought Ciaran was way more shy than he was but people don't always appear as they are [on the show]."

And Ciaran joined in on the conversation too, adding that even though they went on a few dates before Katie moved away, they only became official when she moved to Canada.

"It all fell into place when I visited Katie [in Toronto] in October. We went to Niagara Falls, we had Thanksgiving over there, we went gambling in the casinos in Niagara… At the end of the trip, I asked her if she'd like to be my girlfriend."

Guys, we can't deal. Ciaran also added that going on First Dates was "one of the best things [he has] ever done."

We're even more excited to tune in tonight now.

It's time to say goodbye to the Xtra Factor!

It has just been confirmed that the spin-off show will not be coming back this year, with reports indicating it has been going downhill for years now.

The show, which was most recently presented by Rylan Clark-Neal and Matt Edmondson, is instead going to move online, and will feature short clips and extra content.

Reports also suggest that it had nothing to do with the two presenters – the format was just not working anymore.

Rylan took to Twitter earlier today to tell his followers: "After an amazing series, I just want to say what an honour it was to finally host The Xtra Factor alongside the lovely Matt and naughty scamp Roman.

"It was always a one year gig (LOLS) and a full 360 for me and I'm grateful I had that opportunity.

"I propose a wake alongside Matt, Roman, Rochelle, Melvin, Sarah, MattR, Caroline, Olly, Konnie, Fearne, Holly & Ben where we can all wear black and mourn as one. God bless Xtra and all who sailed her. Sleep well girl x."

Matt also took to social media to share his thoughts: "I wanted to write a quick something about my time on Xtra Factor, and the news it's not coming back this year…

"I had an absolute blast working on the show – it's honestly the most fun I've ever had at work, and it's thanks to the best production team in the world.

"Xtra had been on the decline for a few years, but we pulled out all the stops to make a show I am massively proud of.

"The feedback was amazing, and as a fan of The X Factor, it was a joy to be involved in some small way. I loved working with Rylan and Roman, and I've no doubt we'll get to do something fun together in the future.

"There aren't many shows on telly that are live and silly, but I'm so glad I got to sink my teeth into this one."

Richard Holloway, managing director at Thames TV, who makes The X Factor, said: "In the past year there has been an increase in digital engagement and online audiences around The X Factor.

"In light of this, ITV's strategy to focus their efforts on digital means The Xtra Factor on linear television has come to its natural end."

Ah, we'll miss it.

Ever feel like one McFlurry just isn't enough?

Yep, us too. Especially during summer hangover days when all you want to do is cool down and chill out.

Unfortunately, our McFlurries last about five minutes in our hands before it's all gobbled up, so when we came across a McFlurry BUCKET, we were just delighted.

As always, there's a catch; it's only available in selected stores in France and Spain. *Sob*

According to Brand Eating, the 'McFlurry Party' bucket comes with four cups so you can deck the ice cream out to your friends (or, you know… eat it all yourself).

What's more, the flavours seem to be pretty glorious, with options such as Kit Kat and cookie butter (yummy).

We'll BRB, just booking a ticket to Paris.

One year in Ireland; a year since I left behind Paris to – FINALLY!  – live with my lovely Irish boyfriend (and now fiancé).

I didn't need much persuading: long-distance relationships might have their charms, but after five years, the twice-a-month Ryanair commute was getting tiresome.

And with 12 months of habitation in this country now under my belt, I have grown to love it a lot more than I thought I ever would.

Here's why…

1) People are very friendly

A few weeks after I arrived, I was working around Grand Canal Dock and I forgot to fill up my Leap card – the insane price of the bus and public transport in general is also something I had a hard time adjusting to. When the bus driver told me the card didn't have enough money on it, a lovely young lady offered to pay for me. No questions asked, she didn’t want anything from me, she was just being kind. Not a chance that would EVER happen in Paris.

2) The alcohol issue

Irish people are famous for their drinking, but I do think there is a real alcohol problem in this country. Don’t get me wrong, we do love our wine and spirits in France, but we don’t have this culture to drink purely and solely to get drunk. Most people are able to have one or two glasses – rather than five… or ten. Also, WHAT is it with off-licences times? Do the authorities really think that people will curb their drinking if they can’t buy booze before 10.30am or after 10pm?

3) Food

Living in a foreign country, you miss your friends and family, of course, but mostly you miss the food. Especially when the food is French. Not that you can't find nice stuff in Ireland, you most definitely can, but it’s just the taste of home you miss. Among the French community, the French week in Lidl is probably the most exciting event of the year. On our Facebook groups, we also share tips on where to find the best raclette or croissants in town. Food is for French people what alcohol is for the Irish.

4) The renting situation

Insane, properly insane. I never thought it would be that hard to find a decent affordable place in Dublin. It is much worse than Paris, both in terms of price, quality… and stress involved. And if it is hard for Irish people imagine what it is like for foreign people, who have no proof of address or bank account or job when they arrive.

5) The immersion

I just can’t get over it. Ireland is a fully developed country, yet for some reason, there is still no hot water in the tap unless you turn on the fecking immersion 30 minutes before you plan to use it. How come every country in the world (or almost) has figured it out and Ireland still hasn’t?!

6) Christmas time

At home, you are not allowed even mention the word Christmas until December, let alone put up decorations or bring out reindeer jumpers. In Ireland, Christmas is like a marathon and you never seem to see the finish line. Between the shopping, the eating, the songs, the million Christmas parties and the alcohol, you end up looking forward to the January detox by December 12.

7) The 'summer'

What summer? Sorry, but I didn’t see anything that looked like summer over the past 12 months. I remember a couple of pretty sunny weeks in May (I think), but that was it. All these summer clothes I got in May were worn once, at best. This year, I have decided to invest in boots and a coat – which I can then just wear constantly. Perfect!

13 years since the show began – we know, scary – X Factor has given us so much more than musical talent.

Yes, some of our favourite ships have come from the ITV reality show so we’re taking a trip down X Factor memory lane to remind ourselves of all the couples who stole our hearts over the years.

1. Frankie Cocozza and Amelia Lily

Back in 2011, Frankie and Amelia Lily sent tabloids into a frenzy when they were spotted getting very flirty at the contestants’ hotel.

2. Stacey Solomon and Olly Murs

Viewer favourites Stacey and Olly became close when they appeared on the show back in 2009 so much that Stacey said Olly was her “best friend in the world”.

3. Zayn Malik and Rebecca Ferguson

Before there was Perrie there was Rebecca. Zayn and Rebecca were dating while on the reality show in 2011 and were often spotted out and about holding hands and on romantic dates.

4. Diana Vickers and Eoghan Quigg

Teenage sweathearts Diana and Eoghan were constantly hounded with questions about their relationship. While they never actually confirmed the rumours, that didn’t stop us putting their name in hearts.

5. Wagner and Mary Byrne

Yes, this was a thing. In 2010, Wagner (with a W) and Mary were said to have done a lot of flirting eventually going on to date.

In the past few years, celebrity dopplegangers have come out in force, with everyone from Kendall Jenner to Cara Delevinge having a mere mortal twin.

These 'stranger twins' will look a lot like the stars, but with different angles and proper lighting, it's clear to see that it's just a normal person who was graced with beautiful genes.

But THIS girl… we're flabbergasted by how similar she looks to Ariana Grande.

Seventeen spotted the resemblance of Ari on 20-year-old Jacky Melissa Vasquez, a few days ago, and she has racked in a lot of followers on Instagram because of it.

Jacky has the hairstyle down, the eye liner down and even sports the same body type as the singer.

Seriously, you're going to be doing a triple take on this lady. It's uncanny.
