If you found yourself baffled by the phrase FOMO when it first started getting bandied around, you're not alone.

And if FOGO is much more your jam, you're among friends here.

While the rest of the world counts down the seconds to their first frosty Friday beer, you count down the seconds to your first fleecy fort-fest of the weekend.

And that, ladies, is because staying in is your going out.

1. You have been known to begin undoing your jeans the minute you're through the front door.

Sweet, sweet freedom.

2. You own more pairs of pyjamas and sweatpants than going-out dresses.

In fact, shopping for lounge wear has always been your jam.

3. You get so much joy out of lighting your scented candles at the end of a long week.

To think someone wanted you to stand in a heaving bar after work.

4. You feel no envy whatsoever when Snapcat stories of nights out start flooding in.

Oh my God, the amount of PEOPLE in the background.

5. You wish the money you saved staying in went into a saving account, but instead it goes on takeaways.

It's a sacrifice you're willing to make.

6. You have used every excuse in the book to avoid a night out… and never once felt guilty about it.

People must take you as they find you.

7. Your friends know better than to invite you to anything last minute.

You need at least a week's notice to gird yourself for an actual (sigh) night out.

8. You cringe at the thought of a Saturday night in a city-centre nightclub.

"I'm sorry, but where is the fun in being crushed and having a pint spilled down your back?"

9. The arrival of summer doesn't change anything… despite what your friends might hope.

"My couch doesn't get any less comfortable just because the sun is shining, lads."

10. People who get FOMO have never chilled out on the cushion heaven you have created for yourself.

"The only thing they're missing out on is my fort."

11.Your opening gambit in most messages is 'How was last night?'

We mean, how would you know if you didn't ask from time to time?

12. Having friends visit from out of town is a stress-fest because you know you'll have to entertain… outside.

"This is so unfair. I'll have to actually queue in a f*cking bar for these people."

13. Your hotwater bottle is to you what clutch bags are to other girls.

"Fill her up, and drop her down the front of my pyjama pants."

Acne; it's a bitch.

I know, I suffered from it for years and the effects of it still haven't vanished from my face.

And, I'm not talking about one or two spots; I'm talking about parts of your face covered in sore, red zits.

It's not the most attractive, but why are we so ashamed of it when so many people suffer from it?

Most teenagers get spots, but 15 per cent go on to suffer from inflamed, troublesome pimples.

Also, WHO CARES IF YOU HAVE ACNE YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL (A love note to myself & others struggling) #honest

A post shared by QUEEN STARLIE (@queenstarlie) on

Starlie Smith, a musician and model, recently walked in the Dolce & Gabbana runway, and one eagle-eyed Reddit user noticed that there was just a sheer layer of foundation over her acne.

Starlie looked insanely gorgeous, pimples and all, strutting down the catwalk. And did her spots make her look any less beautiful? Not at all.

The Atomics performer isn't shy about showing off her bare face, and when I look at her, all I can think is 'wow, what a stunner'.

We need to realise that we go through these things in life, and no matter how much acne can get you down and put a dent in your self-confidence, it shouldn't stop us from being our best selves.

Trying to love my body as it is #honest

After years of treatments, creams, visits to the doctor and antibiotics, I'm still not 100 per cent happy, but f*ck it. I'm going to try to take a page out of Starlie's book.

She's in the limelight and I'm sure she has tried just about everything to improve the appearance of her skin.

But for the time being, she isn't hiding it and pretending it isn't there. She embracing life; she's taking major steps in her career, and she's not letting it hurt her self-confidence.

So, take some inspiration from her – block out the naysayers and know that no matter how big that spot is on your forehead, you can't let it get in your way.

You're so much more than acne. F*ck acne.

Captain Dara Fitzpatrick has died this afternoon, after a helicopter carrying three other crew members went missing last night.

Captain Fitzpatrick had been with the search and rescue service for 20 years.

She was found a number of hours ago in critical condition, and was later pronounced dead in hospital.

“Dara is one of the most senior pilots with CHC, she has been with the company close on 20 years,” rescue operations manager Gerard O’Flynn told the Irish Times.

“Outside of her work as a pilot, she did an enormous amount of work in water safety and was always available to do school visits and just highlight basic water safety,” he said.

The search continues off the west coast of Ireland for the rest of the crew.

The search is focused on the Mayo coastline in the Blacksod area.

Contact was lost with the helicopter at around 1am last night.

Ah, PMS. Around half of the world's population suffer from it, and yet we're still known to discuss it in hushed tones from time to time.

Malin Olofsson has survived anorexia and is now a vegan weight-lifter and a body-positive Instagrammer.

However, like many of us, she suffers very heavily from PMS.

Bloating, mood swings and unbearable cramps are part of her life once a month, but she stayed silent about it because people think it's "weird."

——————————————– Some of you have seen this before. Some of you haven't. Some of you experience and go through this yourself once a month. Some of you will be disgusted. Some of you will sigh with relief and think -Omg I'm not alone. Some of you will not read this caption and presume that I'm pregnant. ——————————————– This is the visual signs of PMS for me and many other women. For some it's less extreme, for some it's more. Water retention is a very normal and common symptom of PMS. Some women will hardly notice it and some go through immense discomfort for a couple of days a month. It can start anytime between ovulation and your period. ——————————————– THIS  IS  NORMAL. This is nothing to be ashamed of. Yes – it is very uncomfortable, and yes – it is really difficult to not feel like you must hide it and try to suck your stomach in. I've stopped. I've decided that breathing is more important than what other people may or might think. I've decided that my body's reaction to the hormonal change is not going to be an aspect that I let contribute to my already unstable mental state. Because when I have PMS, I already feel like dying. And I've decided to love my body no matter how I feel about life. ——————————————– Do not blame your body for how you're feeling. It is never your body's fault. It is never anything wrong with how your body looks. Yes – your body might experience discomfort due to hormonal changes – so instead of making it worse through shaming your body, try doing the opposite. Realize that this is when you need extra self-care and self-love. Realize that you don't have to be ashamed and hide. You are perfect and your body is just doing it's job.

A post shared by MALIN  (@malinxolofsson) on

Last weekend, Malin shared a photo of herself on Instagram, along with an explanation on her intense PMS symptoms.

"Some of you have seen this before. Some of you haven’t.

"Some of you experience and go through this yourself once a month. Some of you will be disgusted.

"Some of you will sigh with relief and think – Omg I’m not alone. Some of you will not read this caption and presume that I’m pregnant."

She then told her followers that these are the things she goes through once a month.

"This is the visual signs of PMS for me and many other women. For some it's less extreme, for some it's more.

"Water retention is a very normal and common symptom of PMS. Some women will hardly notice it and some go through immense discomfort for a couple of days a month.

"It can start anytime between ovulation and your period.

She ended her post by saying that we shouldn't punish or blame our bodies because they put us through these things. It's more important to take care of ourselves than worry about what people think.

"It is never your body's fault. It is never anything wrong with how your body looks. Yes – your body might experience discomfort due to hormonal changes – so instead of making it worse through shaming your body, try doing the opposite.

"Realise that this is when you need extra self-care and self-love. Realize that you don't have to be ashamed and hide.

"You are perfect and your body is just doing it's job."

We all need to remember that last line.

There have been plenty of whitening tricks doing the rounds on Instagram lately, from charcoal treatments to coconut oil hacks.

Penneys is keeping on top of these dental trends with their new range, Ps…Hollywood, which has officially ticked all the boxes when it comes to Instagram's tooth whitening trends.

A post shared by megan_mckenna_ (@megan_mckenna_) on

As the worldwide obsession with coconut oil reaches its peak, oil pulling has become a common dental trend, which claims to be a gentle way to whiten teeth while doing wonders for the gums.

Every reality TV celebrity worth their salt has been flogging various oil pulling products on social media, and now Penneys is creating their own.

Keen to get in on the trend, the high street bargain store has launched its own sachets of coconut oil.

PS… Hollywood Oil Pulling treatment €4.00

Oil pulling is a simple enough way of whitening teeth, but it takes commitment.

Pour the coconut oil in your mouth and swish it between your teeth for up to 20 minutes for best results.

The oil is said to lift stains and strengthen gums.

PS… Hollywood Charcoal Toothpaste €2.00

Another toothy trend online right now is using charcoal to lift stains.

While brushing your chompers with a black paste may look pretty scary, the active ingredients in charcoal lift stains and combat the bacteria that causes bad breath.

At €4.00 and €2.00 respectively a pop, the products are landing in stores this month, and we might have to give both of these Insta trends a try.

Doggie agility competitions can be absolutely adorable and completely hilarious.

From the uber-competitive pups who take it all very seriously, to the loose cannons who make a holy show of their owners, Crufts Dog Show is always worth a watch.

This year, one little pupper stood out from all the rest.

Olly, a sprightly little Jack Russell terrier, had his owner in quite a flap while he attempted to compete in the Rescue Dog Agility Course.

The pup went totally off-course, running amok and face-planting on the field after trying out some ambitious jumps.

While Olly may not have won any prizes, the Twittersphere loved him, and proclaimed him to be the star of the show.

Dubbed the ultimate tryer, Olly got plenty of online attention, especially for his jump attempt, which saw him land flat on his face after knocking the jump bar off the podium (thankfully he wasn't hurt at all).

Check out his full run for yourself, and prepare to fall in love with the persevering doggo:

We're all pretty obsessed with Anastasia Beverly Hills products, but we don't love them enough to commit a major crime to get our hands on them.

It seems that not everyone is on our moral wavelength when it comes to palette pinching, as NBC reports that over €4,200,000 worth of ABH eye shadow palettes were stolen from their warehouses.

A post shared by Surabhi (@makeupbysurabhi) on

The thieves focused on swiping the Modern Renaissance Palette from the ABH warehouse, one of the company's most popular makeup ventures.

The thefts occurred back in January, but have only recently come to the forefront.

Los Angeles police said this week that they are investigating how the thieves made off with so much of the swiped shadow.

The suspects are alleged to have sawed through the roof of a San Fernando Valley warehouse and stolen up to 100,000 packages of eye shadow, according to the LA Times.

I mean, we'd all love a Modern Renaissance Palette, but really?

Every now and again, a fashion item comes around that divides the nation.

From fluffy sliders to Juicy Couture track suits, sometimes the weirder side of fashion can cause  major debate.

Now, Topshop is getting quite a few questions about their new style of jean.

The "clear knee mom jeans" feature a clear plastic panel at the knees.

Kind of like windows to the knees, if you will.

Twitter is in uproar over the style, as people feel that they are just plain ridiculous.

The jeans have been dubbed "ugly" and a sign that we are "living in dark times." Slightly over-dramatic.

Priced at around €68.00, the patella ponchos are not going down well at all.

While the denim and perspex pair of pants is definitely on the daring side, we don't think they look that bad.

However, we do wonder what purpose these panels could actaully serve?

I guess they'd keep your jeans dry if you needed to kneel to tie your shoe lace, but other than that, it must just be one of those fashion things.

Twitter users have also taken to mocking another pair of Topshop denims, which feature a mesh skirt overlay.

They're really not getting an easy time from fashion critics today, are they?

A quarter of a century (yes, we went there) after forming their sibling triad of a band, Hanson is going on tour to celebrate their 25th anniversary.

The brothers enjoyed fame and fortune with their break-out hit MMMbop, and we've been bopping away to the tune ever since.

A post shared by Site Lizana Lima (@sitelizanalima) on

"Making music together for 25 years is a milestone that we had to acknowledge, and what better way to do it than with an anniversary tour," Taylor Hanson said

“This year is not only about the two decades of music, it’s about celebrating the incredible community of fans who have been with us, singing along year after year," Isaac Hanson added.

The band isn't coming to Dublin (rude) but if you want to MMMbop the night away, the closest the brothers will be coming to our Emerald Isle is London on June 10.

So if you're a major 90s fan, this gig might be right up your alley!

Lindsay Lohan has been embracing other cultures quite a bit recently, from her new accent to the rumours that she is converting to Islam.

Now, Lindsay has hinted that she is working on a new fashion line, which appears to embrace cultural diversity by including modest wear.

The modest wear pointer comes from an Instagram picture that the actress posted to announce the line, in which she is donning an embellished head scarf.

A post shared by Lindsay Lohan (@lindsaylohan) on

There is no word yet on when the collection will launch other than LiLo's vague "soon," but if her project does include modest wear such as hijab and head scarves, the actress will be among fashion houses like Dolce & Gabbana and Nike who have both created modest designs for Islamic women.

Lindsay has previously had two forays into the fashion world, both of which did not work out very well for the star.

A post shared by Lindsay Lohan (@lindsaylohan) on

In 2008 at the height of her fame, LiLo launched a line of designer leggings, which quickly lost popularity as Lindsay's party-hard persona became problematic.

Lindsay also debuted a collection as an artistic advisor for Emanuel Ungaro in 2009, which was ridiculed by fashion experts at the time.

Hopefully her new line will be a success, we can't wait to see what it looks like!

To celebrate Saint Patrick's Day, many Irish folk like to hit the town and enjoy a polite, quiet beverage or two.

Now, our fondness for a casual tipple has been translated into doughnut form, and to be honest we couldn't be more delighted.

"Introducing the Jameson Donut!" reads a post on the Rolling Donut's Facebook page.

"Thanks to our friends at Jameson Irish Whiskey we've created a delicious whiskey cream filled donut, topped with a whiskey glaze and crumbled shortbread, for the week that's in it."

Cue a national chorus of Homer Simpson-style drooling sounds.

You can find the tasty treats at The Rolling Donut at  55 South King Street Dublin 2, or at 34 Bachelors Walk Dublin 1.
