There are a few things that are heavily associated with millennial: selfies, college debt and avocados.

Whether smashed on toast at a hip millennial-filled brunch spot or sliced over or chopped salad, we kind of love the healthy green.

Avocado has been having a major moment, as the green delicacy fast became one of the biggest food trends of the past few years.

However, a new survey has shown that despite the association with millennial buyers, millennials actually don't like to guac ingredient all that much.

The Huffington Post sought out to discover the true millennial propensity for avocados, with shocking results.

The survey found that people aged 18-29 aren't actually all that obsessed with them.

Only 28 per cent of adults under age 30 say they 'love' the fruit.

Actually, people aged over 30 are way more besotted with it than anyone else, with 35 per cent saying they love the fruit.

Seeing as avocados have been blamed for millennials not being able to get on the property ladder, we're thinking that those who gave that advice might be eating their words.

Literally.

Festival season is well and truly in full swing and if you’re lucky enough to be heading to Body & Soul this weekend or Electric Picnic later in the summer then we has some great tips to keep your skin looking and feeling fab all weekend!

We had a chat with the Skin Nerd, Jennifer Rock, and she talked us through some of her festival must-haves:

1. Get glittery

Intensify your festival look with these gorgeous glitter cream eyeshadows from Wet n Wild. Each single is loaded with big, bold glitters that won't crease (glorious news!)

The creamy glitter is infused with aloe and coconut oil that will also leave you skin moisturised, preventing your lids from over-drying. The best part? These shadows go the distance, and will stay in place for hours. What's not to love?

2. Nail it

There is nothing worse than a chipped, unsightly manicure! Well, thanks to the gorgeous folks at CND, your chipped nails will be a thing of the past.

They iconic nail brand have released a new range of their vinylux polishes, called CND Rosy Neutrals, inspired by to embody 'millennial pinks,' that will last up to two weeks – perfect for those less-than ideal festival conditions.

3. Stay balmy

Skinfull Affairs, Dublin’s conscious yet indulgent beauty haven brings to you their newest arrival, the MOA Green Balm. This multipurpose balm is THE festival essential. Not only does it soothe and moisturise dry chapped skin but it also heals cuts and grazes, combats insect bites and stings and calms skin after shaving or waxing.

The Green Balm even removes stubborn eye make-up so say goodbye to those pesky panda eyes. The Green Balm is 100% natural so it is suitable for even the most sensitive of skin and contains tea tree which has antiseptic properties to protect the skin against infection.

3. SPF

This one’s a no brainer. Sun protection is always an essential; La Roche Posay have an SPF that sprays over makeup without removing it so you have NO excuse to neglect the skin (Resulting in that ‘lobster’ look…no thanks!) Make sure to reapply generously every two hours!

4. Mineral Makeup

No one likes the feeling of heavy makeup clogging their skin on a hot summer’s day. Fuschia’s mineral foundation feels lovely and light on the skin and lasts all day.

They also have incredible glitter liners and eyeshadows so you can get creative with your festival look!

5. Cleanse Off Mitt

This super handy mitt is ideal for wiping away yesterday’s festival makeup (and mud!) and prepping the skin for another layer of sparkles! All you need is water with this little beauty so there’s no need to pack half the bathroom cabinet!

6. Dry Shampoo

Batiste dry shampoo will be your ultimate saviour. It’s a godsend for keeping the hair fresh (as can be!)

7. Lip Balm

You can’t beat a summer romance so keep those lips soft and kissable with a lip balm, opt for one with an SPF to prevent your smackers from burning and make sure to keep it topped up throughout the day!

Festival fashion is an entire style genre of it's own, hallmarked by clashing textures, hippy vibes and lashings of glitter.

One of the world's biggest festivals, Glastonbury, is well under way, and while revellers battle high temperatures and stormy conditions, they have still managed to upload some snaps of their chic festival style.

Here are a few of our favourite looks from the UK festival:

1. Our hearts.

2.Yes, we're filling up.

"When we got to the lookout point, Ryan set down my camera bag and turned to face me. I knew in that moment what was about to happen as he was paying no attention to the stunning view of the bridge. He started to get a little choked up and I was too. We stood there and cried tears of joy as he talked about all of our "firsts" – from the first day we met, to the fist time we took a trip together (it was to San Francisco exactly two years before). He then said he also loved the day we decided to spend forever together and when I asked "when was that", he responded with "today" and then got down on one knee. Right when I said yes, I heard a crowd of people cheering and I thought "Wow! That is such a nice group of strangers!" But as the group of people approached, I started to recognize faces and soon realized my parents were there, along with Ryan's parents, my sister and her husband, and many of our dear friends. 19 of our closest friends and family had flown in from Texas, Oklahoma, and New York to celebrate with us, and it was the best moment of my life." by @whitneyjustesenphoto Tag your 19 favorites that *need* to be at your proposal too

3. For the love of…

4. There's an actual PUPPY

5. And we're done.

"A few months after meeting Spencer, things took a turn for the worse. My dad had been living with cancer for five years at that point, and in October, the doctors told us there was nothing else they could do. I felt like my life was over – I couldn't even begin to imagine life without him. I told Spencer he didn't have to stick around as we'd only been dating for four months, but he stood by my side and cared for me and my dad through the worst moments of our lives. My dad ended up loving Spencer and I knew he wanted to see him become a part of the family. I also knew he wanted to see us engaged before he passed, but I didn't want to ask anything more of Spencer. When the doctors told us how much time he had, my dad said he wanted to take one last trip together. He picked Disneyland and so of course, when were were there, we went in front of the castle and took tons of family photos. At the end of the pictures, in front of everyone, Spencer grabbed my hands and turned me to face him. I went numb. I knew what was coming, and I could not believe he was making my (and my dad's) dream come true… The next day, we made the long drive home back to Oregon, and that morning, as unexpected as anything, my daddy passed on into heaven…" You actually need to read and watch the whole story (we summarized it, and there's a video). I cried during my last Leaving Cert exam. It was music. I was supposed to get an A2 at the very least. I was devastated telling everyone that I had “definitely failed”.

I relished in the theatricality of it all. My life was over. I honestly believed it was true and had invented a plan to flee to some hot country, take up the hair-braiding profession and live off the land.

I had turned 18 in March and since then, the Leaving Cert had been my excuse for breakdowns and Ben and Jerrys binges.

Anyone who has been through the Irish education system can relate to this ridiculous lack of perspective that is given to us since the morning after Junior Night.

The quiet, serious tones they used when referring to the exams. The pang of dread when anyone mentioned Maths Paper One and Irish Paper Two. What grinds do you get and what did you put on your CAO? Are you sure you’ll have the points for that?

I never thought anything would be as emotionally draining as the Leaving Cert. I was utterly shocked to realise that a whole world of stress existed outside the exam hall.

The perspective I had been so very lacking during my music exam came one afternoon at the end of September. I was a few weeks into the college semester and was supposed to be doing a group project after lunch. I had a sick feeling in my stomach the whole morning, but I told myself it was just nerves.

My dramatic nature – one my family so often reminded me was the cause of all my ‘problems’ –  was manifesting itself in nausea. I knew it was a lie as soon as I said it out loud. I had always been a good liar, which would prove to be handy in the coming months, but I could rarely lie to myself. My period was late. My stomach was in knots.

A few hours later, my hands shook as I disposed of the positive pregnancy test. I hadn’t been able to bring myself to buy the test, so I called my best friend to perform the horrifying purchase.

Someone was banging on the door; a customer at the café, probably late for a meeting or something equally as grown up. I was hot and sweating, but shivering cold at the same time. I left silently but my mind was screaming. Not in a dramatic damsel way, but like a child. Like a baby.

I had been with my boyfriend for three years, and I knew him well enough to anticipate his supportive yet clueless reaction. I don’t think he had ever even thought about getting pregnant. I don’t think any boy of 18 really considers what would happen in this situation.

I had hardly given it much thought. I would learn in the coming months that college life was a breeding ground for pregnancy scares unlike secondary school where you would hear about it on the grapevine and swore it would never happen to you, but maybe to someone’s sister in the year above.

For the first time in my life I was silenced by reality. I normally talked openly about anything slightly negative I had going on, but my pregnancy was a new kind of problem; an internal one. Though my boyfriend was more than supportive (something I would discover to be rare in the teen mom universe), my pregnancy was not something I shared with anyone.

What happens when you get pregnant at the wrong time in Ireland? Nothing and everything. Nothing on the outside, and everything on the inside. By inside, I do not mean the foetal growth week by week. I mean the mental agony of crisis pregnancy.

The hormones hit me like a bus. I know now this bus was not routed for me alone, but for hundreds of women in Ireland every day. Every girl I have met over the last few years describes the feeling in the same way. Shame. Anger. Love. Guilt. I was a child that became an adult overnight. I felt totally alone after deciding to hide my pregnancy from everyone except our parents.

I lived in my family home with three younger sisters, one who would sit the Leaving Cert during my due date. The exam that I had been so distraught over only months ago. I was terrified of what my pregnancy would do to her. I had become that sister of that girl in the year above.

Now that this year’s Leaving Cert is in full swing, I think of my own daughter when I see those kilts trudging towards the local school. She was three last week.

She is dramatic and emotional and assertive. If she sits her Leaving Cert in fifteen years’ time, I will buy her Ben and Jerry’s. I will tell her to cry and vent as much as she needs to, to make it through the dreaded month. I will not shatter the bubble of skewed perspective I once lived in because it will be her reality at the time.

The Leaving Cert is only one of many paths to take to get to where you want to be. Flawed as it is, it happened to be my path.

This direct school to college route is a path that very few of us teen moms have the privilege of walking. I know many young mothers who have entered third level through alternative systems such as Access programmes, PLC courses and more.

However, I have the Leaving Certificate to thank. I managed to make some attempt at a college degree in the years that followed, having passed my teary music exam after all.

Let's be honest here, we all see Ellen DeGeneres as a cool auntie.

She's warm, she's spirited and she's mischievous, but she'll call you the hell out if it comes to the crunch.

And that's exactly what one unfortunate member of Ellen's audience realised recently when she made the mistake of stealing from Ellen and her crew.

In a move which had us squirming in our seats, Ellen and her crew set up hidden cameras and then told the audience that they were welcome to take one piece of show swag each before they took to their seats in the studio.

Thankfully, the vast majority of audience members played by the rules, but there's always one who tests the limits. right?!

And when Ellen clapped eyes on her, she wasn't letting her off easy.

Warning: You may end up watching between your fingers.

So, we're all aware of the physical benefits of cycling.

The low impact exercise can greatly improve cardiovascular fitness, increase muscle strength and flexibility and even lead to lead better posture and coordination.

But, the health benefits don't end there. A new study has found that choosing a bike over a car for your morning commute could actually help reduce stress and improve your work performance.

Researchers at Concordia University compared how different modes of transport affected the stress levels of workers.

The results suggested that cycling to work is the best way to start your day if you are feeling stressed.

Lead author, Stéphane Brutus, said, "Employees who cycled to work showed significantly lower levels of stress within the first 45 minutes of work than those who travelled by car.”

123 employees at Autodesk, an information technology company in Old Montreal, were asked questions about their mood, perceived commuting stress and mode of travel through an online survey.

Researchers only assessed answers from respondants who completed the questionnaire within 45 minutes of arriving at work to ensure a more accurate report.

Brutus notes that this time specification was the study's major innovation.

"Recent research has shown that early morning stress and mood are strong predictors of their effect later in the day," he explains.

"They can shape how subsequent events are perceived, interpreted and acted upon for the rest of the day."

He added, "There are relatively few studies that compare the affective experiences of cyclists with those of car and public transport users," says Brutus, an avid cyclist himself. "Our study was an attempt to address that gap."

What's more, previous studies have found that cyclists perceived their commute as being less stressful than those who travelled by car.

So, if you find you're constantly starting the day off on the wrong foot, a pedal-powered commute could be the answer you've been searching for.

So, if you've ever planned, been involved in or even just attended a wedding, you'll know all about the pressure and stress the day can bring.

It's not really a matter of if something will go wrong, it's a matter of when and how many times, until you eventually succumb to the fact that not everything will be perfect and it doesn't have to be.

Well, that's if the wedding even happens.

One American bridesmaid has taken to Twitter to share a dramatic tale of the wedding that never was, and oh boy are you in for a treat.

Get ready for a story a love, loss and extreme paintballing.

@starlightgeek first sparked our interest with this intriguing tweet:

And of course, we were immediately hooked.

It gets better.

This bride wasn't wasting any tears and instead had the perfect reaction to her finance's infidelity.

But wait – PLOT TWIST.

Wouldn't surprise us to be honest…

But of course, the bride did what we would all do in that situation…

What. A. Rollercoaster.
