We could listen to James Vincent talk cosmetics for hours… and hours… and hours. (No seriously, we're obsessed.)

A make-up artist of incredible acclaim, James' list of clients includes the likes of Reese Witherspoon and Lady Gaga, so we were all ears when he decided to give an appraisal of Irish woman and their techniques.

While appearing on Today FM's Dermot and Dave Show in recent days, James provided a professional insight into the cosmetic trends currently doing the rounds in Ireland, and it sounds like we could all do with an injection of creativity.

While James acknowledged that "Irish women are considered to be some of the most beautiful in the world", he's noted that we appear to have a paint-by-numbers technique (our words, not his) when it comes to our faces.

"The thing that is strange to me is that everyone starts to look alike. I just walked through the department store on the way here and everyone has the same face," he surmised.

Joking that this may cause problems on the city's dating scene, James added: "I can only imagine how confusing it is for straight guys at the pub when you meet a girl. She walks away and then comes back over and you don't know who you were just talking to."

James did, however, say that cosmetic trends do tend to sweep major cities meaning that it's not surprising we tend to sport similar make-up styles, with James confirming that New York also has 'a look'.

Delving further still, James has noted the particular features we tend to accentuate in a similar way. saying: "I think if you look at Dublin right now, the brow is very specific, the bronzer is very specific, and it creates a look where people start to look similar."

"That's why I say individuality is really what it should be all about. You know, make up should make you feel individual," he advised.

Fair enough.

As comedies go, Bridesmaids is up there with some of the greatest of the last 30 years.

Dismissing the notion that an all-female cast would struggle to bring the laughs (and the dollars) to the Box Office, Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Maya Rudolph and a host of other female comics raked in almost $300 million, and had cinema-goers rolling in the aisles back in 2011.

And while the press and public celebrated the female-centred film, the cast regularly railed against the inclusion of scenes which showed 'women acting like guys'.

Take the now infamous 'food poisoning' scene, for example.

Arguably one of the most memorable of the film, the cast were against its inclusion – something which Kristin explained while chatting on The Hollywood Reporter's Awards Chatter podcast recently.

Highlighting the superficial acceptance of female-centred films, Kristin revealed that a number of conditions essentially exist in order for certain films to get the go-ahead.

"When people say, ‘Oh, we're gonna give more female-centred movies a chance,’ you're not reading the fine print, which is, ‘Oh, but, they have to be like this.’ They want to see women acting like guys," she explained.

Focussing on a scene which saw the characters experience a sudden bout of food poisoning in the middle of a high-end bridal store, Kristin admitted they were encouraged to include it due to the sexist undertones at play.

“The scene in Bridesmaids was not our idea and it was not in the original script and we didn't love it," she admitted.

“It was strongly suggested for us to put that in there. I didn't want to see people sh****** and puking," she added.

Well, for a group of women who weren't mad on the scene, they absolutely nailed it.

Ladies, we salute you.

Almost 2,000,000 people have liked a post Mark Zuckerberg uploaded which confirmed the birth of his second daughter.

The Facebook founder took to social media last night and shared a letter he and his wife, Priscilla Chan, had penned in honour of their newest arrival – August.

"Priscilla and I are so happy to welcome our daughter August! We wrote her a letter about the world we hope she grows up in, and also hoping she doesn't grow up too fast," the 33-year-old began.

The proud parents referred to a letter they wrote August's older sister Max upon her arrival in 2015, but said that they didn't intend to focus on the same things in this letter.

Following Max's birth, Mark and Priscilla spoke about the world they hoped their first child would grow up in, but in this latest letter they focus on childhood.

"The world can be a serious place. That's why it's important to make time to go outside and play," Mark and Priscilla wrote.

"You will be busy when you're older, so I hope you take time to smell all the flowers and put all the leaves you want in your bucket now. I hope you read your favorite Dr. Seuss books so many times you start inventing your own stories about the Vipper of Vipp."

"I hope you ride the carousel with Max until you've tamed every color horse. I hope you run as many laps around our living room and yard as you want. And then I hope you take a lot of naps. I hope you're a great sleeper. And I hope even in your dreams you can feel how much we love you."

In the letter which has been, unsurprisingly, inundated with messages of support and congratulations, Mark and Priscilla asserted: "Childhood is magical."

"You only get to be a child once, so don't spend it worrying too much about the future. You've got us for that, and we'll do everything we possibly can to make sure the world is a better place for you and all children in your generation."

Finishing the letter with a nod to the future of their family, they added: "August, we love you so much and we're so excited to go on this adventure with you. We wish you a life of joy, love and the same hope you give us."

Following a number of terrorist attacks across Europe over the course of the last 18 months, authorities are considering the introduction of retractable bollards in Dublin's shopping districts.

According to The Independent, Dublin City Council and the Gardaí have convened to discuss measures to counteract potential terrorist attacks in the Irish capital.

It is understood that risk assessments are being conducted around the city in order to identify areas to vulnerable to potential targeting.

Grafton Street and Henry Street are among the areas likely to see the introduction of the bollards.

"Meetings have taken place between Dublin City Council and An Garda Siochana on the issue of retractable bollards and a risk analysis of areas in the city centre is being undertaken," confirmed a spokesperson.

The plan follows the death of hundreds of individuals in attacks across Nice, Paris, Berlin, Barcelona and London among others.

A group of unknown hackers took control of the singer's Instagram account, and used it to post nude, explicit images of Justin Bieber.

The hackers took a paparazzi photo of Bieber, taken a number of months ago, and posted it in a three-image collage on Selena's page to her 125 million followers.

It sat above a caption which seemed to poke fun at the Biebs genitalia: 'Look at this n***a lil shrimpy.'

The caption also included links to the hacker's troll accounts, with a claim that they 'run da scene.'(sic)

The hackers also changed the name of Selena's account to 'islah gomez,' according to TMZ.

Donald Trump is still pushing to complete one of his most infamous campaign claims.

The POTUS insisted during a press conference last night, that he will be building a wall between Mexico and the US, and that Mexico will pay for it.

'We need the wall. It's imperative,' said Trump.

'We may fund it through the United States but ultimately Mexico will pay for the wall.'

As a presidential candidate on the campaign, Donald Trump stated that he would be responsible for creating a physical barrier between Mexico and the US.

The border barricade would prevent drug trafficking and illegal immigration, according to the POTUS, and would be financed by Mexico, he claimed at the time.

At the press conference, he did not give specific details on how he would force Mexico to pay for the structure.

The Mexican government has said on numerous occasions that they will not be financing or participating in the project.

It is estimated that upwards of 30,000 people will need housing in shelters in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.

Those seeking shelter have had their homes flooded by the ever increasing inches of rain which are covering some areas.

A further 450,000 Texans are set to seek some form of disaster assistance.

It is reported that up to eight people have lost their lives to the disaster.

Some areas face further feet of flooding, as the hurricane continues to pour water down on the residents.

According to The Scientific American, the storm is now sustaining itself over Texas, rather than using the ocean to draw up water to turn into rain.

'Harvey has dropped so much water over such a large area of southeastern Texas that the storm is pulling that water back up into itself and dumping it again as more rain.'

The family of Chester Bennington, have planned to set up a suicide awareness charity to help young music fans.

Chester died by suicide in his California home last month, aged just 41.

His death shocked fans around the world, and now his family are determined to help others who may be experiencing similar mental health issues.

According to reports, the family hope the organisation will help to prevent others, especially young fans, from suffering the same fate as the Linkin Park frontman.

Chester took his own life on what would have been the 53rd birthday of Audioslave singer, Chris Cornell, who also died by suicide earlier this year.

The family of Chester are said to be concerned that fans of the rock stars “might want to glorify or somehow honour their deaths by doing the same. They're also worried troubled people might view this as an appropriate way out.”

Shortly after his death, Linkin Park shared details of suicide help lines along with the message: “In case you or someone you know needs support, here are some resources.”

So, it's safe to say that following this weekend's events, Conor McGregor really is the man of the moment.

OK, he may have lost to Mayweather, but his larger than life personality, graceful defeat and em, his own range of whiskey, have capapulated the Crumlin native to new levels of fame.

A post shared by Eamon (@eamonjohn) on

Love him or hate him, the UFC champion has nothing but pride for his home country and just like many national treasures that came before him, one man believes Conor's achievements should be honoured in the form of a life-sized gold statue (afterall, we did it for Joe Dolan, so why not?).

Youtuber, Eamon John, built the impressive statue in his back garden in Clontarf, and we have to admit, it's pretty incredible.

Inspired by an Instagram post under which The Notorious commented “someone make that into a staue,” the 21-year-old decided to do just that.

"The reason I'm doing this is because I ain't got no job and I'm trying to figure out what to do," he explained in the video.

"I saw Conor McGregor posted an Instagram photo in that position, saying 'someone make a statue out of this'.

"Then a few weeks later he posted a gold statue in a shop of a jaguar or something and said 'make my statue this colour' – so I was kinda like OK.”

Bravo Eamon. We reckon Conor is going to love this.
