While most of us would (understandably) consider sex with anyone other than our partner a deal breaker of the highest order, the findings of a recent study have done much to highlight the emphasis members of the public place on the emotional element of any relationship.

According to a recent study, which harnessed the opinions of more than 60,000 people, the idea of a partner indulging in an emotional affair was considered much more damaging than the thought of them jumping into bed with someone else.

The research, which was conducted by Dr David Frederick at Chapman University in California, established that flirtatious behaviour, the exchange of messages  and verbal intimacy can be equally, if not more, detrimental to a relationship as a physical affair might be.

The study, which was published in the Archives of Sexual Behaviour, claims that 65 per cent of straight women considered ’emotional cheating’ worse than physical cheating while 46% of men felt the same.

The research, which included both the heterosexual and LGBT communities, also established that 70 per cent of bisexual men, 68 per cent of gay men and 73 per cent of bisexual women consider emotional cheating worse than sexual infidelity.

Where do you stand on this one?

As the United States of America – and the rest of the world – prepares for the inauguration of Donald Trump, Hollywood heavy-hitters and members of the public have taken the time to share the moments which stuck with them during Barack Obama's eight years in the Oval Office.

From recalling changes to foreign policy to paying tribute to his composure during particularly heartwrenching moments in American history, those involved in making Yes We Can: People Share Their Most Memorable Moments from the Obama Presidency didn't hold back when communicating the effect President Obama's two terms in office had on them, both as individuals and members of the wider world.

The video, which has amassed more than 2,000,000 views since its upload in recent days, has been inundated with comments from YouTubers praising the production and sentiment of the video.

"Obama is the most likeable person ever, no one could ever find anything against him. He is able to feel his people's pain and struggles , that's what makes him unique and irreplaceable," wrote one.

"USA will never get another president like president Obama. He is the best we got in this modern time," added another. "The Nobel peace committee that gave him that prize very early in his presidency saw the uniqueness in him."

And yes, we did well up at certain points.

After being honoured with the Cecil B. De Mille Award at last night's Golden Globe Awards, Meryl Streep gave a speech which has sent social media into meltdown.

Without naming any names, the iconic actress gave a scathing assessment of the American President elect Donald Trump in a move which has divided Twitter users today.

While the vast majority praised Meryl for using her moment to offer her opinion on the 45th president, others called Meryl out on supposed hypocrisy.

"There was one performance this year that stunned me," Meryl told the audience. "It sank its hooks in my heart. Not because it was good.  There was nothing good about it. But it was effective and it did its job.”

"It made its intended audience laugh and show their teeth. It was that moment when the person asking to sit in the most respected seat in our country imitated a disabled reporter."

"Someone he outranked in privilege, power and the capacity to fight back. It kind of broke my heart when I saw it. I still can’t get it out of my head because it wasn’t in a movie. It was real life."

And, unsurprisingly, Twitter wasted no time sharing their thoughts on Meryl's words.

Police in Paris are said to have arrested 16 people over the robbery of Kim Kardashian West back in October.

Kim was held at gunpoint in her hotel room on the night of October 2 and is reported to have locked herself in the bathroom before making the call for help.

The 36-year-old was tied up with cables and sources reported she was hysterical but not screaming.

Kim took a three-month break from social media after the attack only returning to Instagram last week.

French authorities are said to suspect the robbery was an inside job saying they may have known about Kim’s whereabouts thanks to a hotel employee or someone on her team.

The mum-of-two is set to speak about the attack in an upcoming episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians with Kim breaking down discussing it with her sisters in a trailer for the episode.

If there is one app we would never have the heart to delete from our phones, it's Instagram.

From providing tonnes of #OutfitInspo to giving us serious wanderlust, the photo sharing app is the stuff of dreams for women like us.

However, we were all too quick to agree to those privacy policies without fully understanding what we were signing ourselves up for.

Well, privacy law expert Jenny Afia decided to break the legal jargon down into simple English so that children – and admittedly, us too – could understand exactly what could be done with our information.

“Although you are responsible for the information you put on Instagram, we may keep, use and share your personal information with companies connected with Instagram,” read the simplified rules in the Growing Up Digital report.

That information could be anything from your name to where you live to who you're direct messaging.

The simple language is aimed at ill-informed users and parents who want to help their children better understand what they are signing up for.

And with many spending hours curating the perfect feed, the report highlights exactly what rights we are giving away once we've posted our pictures on the platform.

“Officially, you own any original pictures and videos you post, but we are allowed to use them, and we can let others use them as well, anywhere around the world.

“Other people might pay us to use them, and we will not pay you for that.”

So, while we’re still huge fans of the app and will never delete it from our phones, it is important for all of us to be aware of our rights and be careful when sharing information online.

Yesterday, we gave you ash balayage, and today we are taking it up a notch.

Denim hair is currently all over Instagram, and we can absolutely see why!

It is exactly what you think it is: hair that is the same colour as your your favourite pair of jeans.

The look combines gorgeous shades of blue, silver and grey in order to create the amazing denim-effect.

Denim hair can be achieved in many different ways, depending how intense or subtle you want the colour.

This is a serious 10/10, in our opinion.

Introducing: the delicious baked good we never knew we needed!

If you think unicorn-inspired food is old news and boring, take your negativity elsewhere… because we have a new addition!

Unicorn doughnuts are here, and we legitimately could not be happier about it.

We have the gorgeous Christina, of Christina's Cupcakes, to thank for these wonderfully magical creations.

Unicorn video tutorial repost to announce a few things. Foremost, I love seeing your donuts and variations of the donicorn! I'm so honored you use my videos and that I can help in any way. That's why I do it! I feel grateful for the community who selflessly takes their time out to share tips and tutorials as well! Furthermore, it's been so sweet to see my video shared, and in doing so, I saw some comments regarding something I never expected to address or that anyone would find offensive- my nails and rings! Let me first say, my nails are boring and short; either messy with polish or none at all. I haven't gotten them done at the salon for a long time. Therefore, for video purposes, I honestly put on press on nails JUST for the vid since people will see my hands, and I at least want it to be pretty to view! And I know people have liked my nail art before so I try to make that audience happy too! For those who commented about food safety and nails and such, please be aware that these are for tutorial purposes only. I do not sell, or have anyone other than myself or my family, consume products used in my videos. I can only hope that people do not make assumptions about that, but since it has happened, I wanted to address it. For those asking for videos in real time whilst making confections, please understand that doing an order while simultaneously making videos would be ineffective to my work flow and time management constraints. So yes, you'll keep seeing nails in most of my videos because I like to! But no, they are not a danger to anyone As always, thank you for viewing!! Much appreciated!

Nicknamed "donicorns", Christina has created a number of different styles of unicorn doughnut, including a cute festive one.

We all know the drill: there's a night out coming up, and you spend days thinking about what you’ll wear.

Running to the shops to get the right type of support undies and a new tanning mitt (because you couldn’t possibly use the disgusting rag you have at home again without the risk of getting a rash), you’re all set to go – and then you get to your makeup, and you’re at a loss.

Not knowing your blending brush from your tapered crease brush (what?), you dare to attempt a look you spotted on Instagram earlier.

20 minutes later, and it’s time for a makeup wipe.

But it doesn’t have to be that difficult or that frustrating.

Here are some gorgeous eye looks that only take one colour and very little skill – win!

1. Golden goddess

Gold works well on every eye colour and is the perfect hue with almost any outfit.

Finish the look: team with a light coating of mascara and a strong lip colour for a really statement look, or define those peepers with a swipe of liquid eyeliner and nude lip for a more natural look.

2. Olive branch

Green eyeshadows look beautiful on blue and brown eyes and can really inject some interest in an otherwise simple makeup look.

Finish the look: to up the ante, line the eyes with some black shadow and smudge out with your finger for a really intense eye look.

3. Bronze beauty

This deeper hue is perfect for all eye colours and skin types, and is a must in every makeup bag.

Finish the look: we suggest keeping your blush and contour light with this colour, but make sure to add a touch of bronze for a healthy bronzed look.

4. Ravishing rose

Luckily for brown-eyed gals, you can pull off any colour on your lids – even reds and pinks. We love how much of a statement this shade makes, and it's set to be a big trend again this year.

Finish the look: add lashings of volumising mascara – pun intended – to really make those eyes stand out.

5. Stunning silver

Silver can be a tough look to pull off; but for brown and grey-eyed girls, it’s a dream. This metallic shade is a real show-stopper and is perfect for that last-minute night out.

Finish the look: why not go for a vintage look by adding a strong flick with liquid eyeliner and rich red lip? Stunning.
