As today marks Proclamation Day in Ireland's 1916 Centenary Programme, schools all over the country gathered to express their vision for Ireland's future.

And over on Twitter, Newstalk decided to get adults in on the event too, by asking people what being Irish meant to them.

The results, unsurprisingly, were brilliant.

#BeingIrishMeans…

Unpronouncable first names

Having strange tea-making rituals

Never being able to serve tea to visitors without the obligatory kilo of biscuits

Taking strange pride in our ability to complain

Always saying thanks to the bus driver, unless they've committed a cardinal sin

Never being without someone to talk to

Ah, it's good to be Irish!

Ever have that awkward moment when you meet a new friend and they're a diehard Xbox fan and you're… a Playstation gamer. It sucks.

Lads are usually more of the gaming type but with more and more scope for women these days, the ladies are playing just as much as the lads.

And now, we can all play together – no matter what device you have.

PC and Xbox One gamers will soon be able to compete in the same game (Rocket League) together and Microsoft has also hinted that Playstation compatibility is about to come along, too.

Cross-network play has happened before with PC and Xbox 360 with games like Shadowrun, but Xbox boss Chris Carla explained that it's going to be better than before:

"In addition to natively supporting cross-platform play between Xbox One and Windows 10 games that use Xbox Live, we're enabling developers to support cross-network play as well.

"This means players on Xbox One and Windows 10 using Xbox Live will be able to play with players on different online multiplayer networks – including other console and PC networks."

Naps are deadly and coffee is possibly the best thing on earth, so why has nobody ever thought about mixing the two together?

Now, we're not talking about someone injecting you with coffee while you sleep, but as it turns out having a cup of coffee before taking a short nap does something wonderful to your alertness.

According to Vox, because caffeine takes 10-20 minutes to hit your blood stream (and for you to feel the kick) you can actually take a short nap which leaves you feeling a lot more energised.

The key is to get the caffeine into your body quickly. Having a latte won't do as it takes a while to cool down and for you to sip away; but an iced coffee or an espresso is ideal.

When you finish your coffee, set your alarm for 20 minutes max. You don't want to totally fall into a slumber you can't get out of. Even if you don't fully fall asleep, the rest will still bring your energy levels up and it's better than drinking coffee alone.

Now, go show this to your boss and protest for a nap room.

Along with Sweet Valley High, The Princess Diaries and Judy Blume's entire back catalogue, The Babysitters Club books pretty much defined our early teenage years.

Long before Carrie Bradshaw was running through puddles in a tutu, The Babysitters Club crew were making female friendships and feminism cool.

City girl Stacey (whose diabetes gave her a touch of mysterious glamour, let's face it), arty Claudia, book-mad Mary Anne, #GirlBoss Kristy, Mallory with her masso Irish Catholic family, floaty Dawn (who liked carob before it was cool) or dance fanatic Jessi… yup, we all idolised at least one of them.

television snl harry potter the office orange is the new black

While there's been enough fan fiction based on the supposed adult lives of the girls to fill an entire library – and a recent reunion of the cast of the 1995 movie adaptation – we've always struggled to really imagine how they all turned out.

Would Claudia still rock a tie-dye jumper? Would Kristy ditch her baseball team merch? Would Jessi ever stop wearing legwarmers?

Well, one US-based blogger has clearly been wondering the same things, and has started a style series inspired by Stoneybrook's best babysitters. For each post, she creates an outfit  and a persona – based on her imaginings of each Babysitters' Club member.

Each post is accompanied by a snapshot of the women's lives today, and they're surprisingly on-point.

There's Dawn, who now has a kale obsession, "refers to her morning runs as 'gifts'" and is the eternally positive friend you "love to hate":

Stacey, who "works in hedge fund analysis" and "finds comfort in numbers, the digits flashing through her computer, her blood sugar count, how many miles she ran on her fit bit band before she goes into the office":

Claudia, who's still arty AF, but with a touch more class:

Mallory, who still wears specs and now favours tights, boots and skater skirts:

Jessi, who unfortunately "had her ballet career sidelined" by an Achilles Tendon Injury, and now teaches Movement classes at Juliard, while doing comedy improv part-time and "trying to get pregnant with her husband, Dov."

Plus, who can forget Kristy, who is still a total #GirlBoss, "runs a nanny staffing agency," and "rejoiced when slouchy sweaters became en vogue."

Amazing.

Graphic designer James Fridman has been taking the internet by storm by giving people exactly (and we mean exactly) what they ask for in photoshop requests.

Unwittingly becoming a satirical genius, James is creating waves by exposing the ridiculousness of the requests he gets from people to 'alter' their photos.

From looking to photoshop out an "embarrassment" to asking for a big butt à la Kim K, James is more than willing to teach people a lesson.

Posting his final products to Twitter, the photoshop whiz is becoming a viral sensation.

Though we can't imagine he'll be getting any more genuine requests as these bad boys start to circulate the internet.

Take a look at some of his finest work below:

And just when you thought James was all about making fun of people, he went and taught this young girl an invaluable lesson.

Winning!

We all know the deal in college. The lecturer gives you an assignment to do in class while they just stand at the top and pretend to work.

But while one teacher was pretending to work, he made a pretty big mistake.

Instead of freezing the screen on the assignment, the teacher displayed what he was really doing to pass the time…

He was browsing lingerie on eBay.

Now, it could have been for his wife or girlfriend, but it's still mega cringy.

And the worst thing (or maybe the best)? He never found out that lingerie was being displayed to his class.

One student told The Mirror: "After this class ended he switched to the next class' assignments. So, he doesn't know that it wasn't turned off or frozen on a screen."

Ah, poor guy.

James Corden has many hilarious segments on his late night TV show, but it has to be said that the best thing to come from it is Carpool Karaoke.

And it's so good, TV execs want to make it into its own show.

The feature where James picks up various artists and sings/chats with them about daily life is being pitched to a number of networks and online subscription sites.

And it's not like they're going to be turned down as Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey, Adele and One Direction have featured on the segment, to name a few.

The Hollywood Reporter claims that an abundance of networks are starting a bidding war over it, however, it's looking like James won't actually host the show himself. But we still think it'll be one to park your bum in front of the TV for.

We're still not quite recovered, frankly.

Tinder users were dealt a swift kick right in the stomach last night when the app went down unexpectedly, taking with it all details of former matches.

That lad you were counting on for a cheeky shift on Paddy's night? Gone. The possibly-maybe-could-be-a-thing match you'd been flirting with for weeks? Gone. The one ridiculously inapproporiate chat you always look back over when you need a belly laugh? GONE.

Yup, the online dating app went down for a full five hours last night, and people were not coping very well at all. While the outage seemed to be worldwide, the time of day meant that users in Ireland, the UK and Europe really felt it most.

Thankfully, service was back up by midnight, but if you still can't see your matches, the folks at Tinder recommend logging out and logging back in.

Order was restored.

Never leave us again, Tinder.

They may be one of reality television's hottest new couples, but Vicky Pattinson is well aware of Spencer Matthews' reputation with women.

Rising to fame as Made In Chelsea's infamous cheating lothario, the Geordie Shore lass is certainly being careful about her potential new man as she admits the pair are dating.

"I'm definitely not ruling out the possibility of a romance, but I'd be a fool not to be wary of his past," said the star to OK! Magazine.

However, she has revealed that he has been hands-on in organising dates.

"It was very impressive to get 100 flowers from him on Valentine's Day, but Spencer's always been really sweet and he makes the effort.

"I'm quite a strong woman so I often get left to organise my dates, but Spencer said 'I can't wait to see you. Let me plan this date.' "

"There were no awkward silences, he's great company and he's gorgeous. We had a little kiss but that was all. He was a perfect gentleman.

"We haven't seen each other since our date but we've kept in touch. It's exciting. Things are going well and I'm hoping to see him again soon."

Hmm, we can't see this one ending well but here's hoping Spencer has really 'changed.'

We all remember him as Sandy in The OC, and now Peter Gallagher is taking on another big role.

The actor has been cast to star in the TV remake of Cruel Intentions and he will play the father of Ryan Phillippe's late character.

If you want to know NOTHING about the remake, stop reading now – but if not, go ahead. Peter is set to play Edward Valmont, a sexy, powerful and ruthless billionaire who owns a string of hotels.

He's into some sketchy business – some legal, and some not so much – but when he finds out he has a grandson, he's determined to show him what impossible wealth can do.

Since Sandy was such a nice guy, it'll be hard to see Peter playing a 'baddie'. But one thing's for sure, this remake is looking to be very, very good.
