Why is our generation not marrying?

A new survey carried out in the US by the Pew Research Center has found that this generation is different to those that went before in that we are not marrying.

In a survey of 1, 821 Millennials between the ages of 18-33, it was found that only 26% of them were married.

However it doesn’t mean we’re getting cold-hearted, just more sensible it would seem!

It was found that “most unmarried Millenials (69%)” DO want to get married but were held back by “a solid economic foundation”.

The survey also found that as a generation we are less linked to organised politics or religion and linked more to each other through social media.

We are also: “burdened by debt, distrustful of people, in no rush to marry – and optimistic about the future.”

So we have that going for us, which is nice.

And what always makes our favourite on-screen couples even better? If they are couples in real-life!

Well, reports say that this may just be the case with Jessie Wallace and Shane Richie who play the troubled couple on Eastenders.

Shane took to his Twitter account to show off an unscripted birthday kiss he received from Jessie on the Eastenders set for his 50th birthday.

Dublin Airport have a serious message for Americans

Dublin Aiport are not mincing their words as they would like to share a message with our American and Canadian friends.

Taking to their Facebook page, Dublin Airport uploaded the following image with the caption:

“It’s Saint Patrick’s Day Not St Patty’s Day. Please share this simple message with your friends and relations in the United States and Canada. Using the power of your network, hopefully we can banish the scourge of St Patty once and for all.”

The image says the following:

” Fógra/Notice: March 17 is Saint Patrick’s Day, St Patrick’s Day, Patrick’s Day, St Paddy’s Day or Paddy’s Day. It is not St Patty’s Day or Patty’s Day not this year, not last year, not ever. Happy St Patrick’s Day from Dublin Airport.”

It is well known that Jennifer Lopez dated P.Diddy in the nineties and was even engaged to Ben Affleck in 2002; however, it seems that the Let’s Get Loud singer doesn’t retain any feelings for the pair.

Her true feelings became apparent when she was asked by Power 106’s Big Boy which one she would save from drowning. They asked: “You’re on a raft in the middle of the ocean. You look in the ocean, you see two people floating. You can only pull up one because that’s how much room you have on the raft. You look in the ocean, you see Ben Affleck and you see Diddy.”

JLo responded: “I’d let both those mother f–kers drown.”

However, Jenny From The Block is not actually that mean and added: “I’m just joking. Ben, Puffy, you know I love you. You know that. They know it. It was a good punch line … That’s terrible. This is the worst interview ever. You are crazy. You got me in trouble.”

Eek… hopefully Diddy and Ben know she’s only joking.

Just two days after enjoying a family day out with estranged wife Paula Patton, Robin Thicke decided to go a bit wild with his boys.

The Blurred Lines singer went out with Leonardo Di Caprio and a few other lads to celebrate his 37th birthday.

But, just hours before his birthday bash, the father-of-one was seen waiting outside Paula’s house for over an hour.

Even though the 38-year-old beauty was away for a film shoot, loved-up Robin was pacing outside her home smoking and making phone calls. At some stage he even called for someone to get the door.

Poor Robin, we hope he’ll learn how to get it together.

Photoshop fail causes anger as the thigh-gap obsession increases

The latest photoshop fail has sparked anger online after it was first featured on Jezebel.

The picture, from US store, Target, features a teen model modelling a bikini for their junior bikini section.

Yes, that’s right, junior bikini.

They are now pushing for younger and younger age groups to become obsessed with being skinny and having a ‘thigh-gap’.

The picture has now been deleted from the site (no shock there) but you can clearly see that somebody has taken their photoshop tools to create the illusion of an extreme thigh-gap on the model.

What a shame they felt to do this as the model very clearly has a fabulous figure anyway.

With only five more sleeps till Paddy’s Day, we can’t help but be a little bit excited.

This shamrock shake is tasty and healthy at the same time – can it get any better?

Here’s what you need to make it:

60ml almond milk
60ml canned light coconut milk
1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon pure (natural) mint extract
1 pinch sea salt
30 g organic baby spinach
7g fresh mint leaves
1 large ripe banana, cut into 6 pieces and frozen

Method:

Throw all the ingredients into a blender and process.
Once the mixture is smooth and creamy, remove from blender and serve immediately.

It looks like 4:3 dieting could be the diet plan of the future.

The plan, which involves eating what you want on one day and then fasting the next, let’s those without will power add some balance to their eating habits.

On the fast day, you are advised to have a 400 calorie meal and a 100 calorie snack. Drink plenty of water, have tea and coffee and eat pre-packaged meals with extra vegetables.

On your normal day, you are advised not to deprive yourself and just eat what you want.

The theory behind the 4:3 diet is that the fast days help you identify when you’re actually hungry, so this way you only eat when your body needs it.

Your stomach can also shrink, which means you avoid over-eating on your non-fast days.

It nearly sounds too good to be true doesn’t it?
