We’ve all gotten bored of our current hairstyle and thought a change of fringe would make the world of difference and we’re right it does, but not always in the best way!

Before rushing out to update your look with a fringe upheaval, have a quick read through our guidelines to ensure your new bangs get people talking…for all the RIGHT reasons.

The easiest way to figure out the perfect fringe for you is to determine your face shape, so read on, girls!

Oval
Girls with oval-shaped faces are fortunate because they can rock pretty much any type of fringe. Some people have all the luck! The important thing to remember in this case is to match your fringe to your hairstyle, but a long thick fringe is considered most flattering.

Round
Girls who have naturally round-shaped faces, like Mila Kinus and Christina Ricci, are advised to stick to wispy or long side-swept fringes as they will elongate the face and give the illusion of a more oval-shaped face.

Square
A- listers like Angelina Jolie and Demi Moore are known for their strong angles, so you're in good company! Softening a square-shaped face is easily done with a long side-swept fringe. This type of fringe will perfectly balance out hard edges and the lack of curve in the face shape. Sorted!

Heart-shaped
Heart-shaped faces are best suited to fringes with long layers that frame the face or a blunt fringe across the eyebrows. Think Taylor Swift or Lea Michele for this one.

Anyone can wear a fringe, it's just a case of doing your homework before you make the plunge! However, if you're currently suffering through a major fringe mishap, remember the wise words our friend Jenny of Sabrina the Teenage Witch fame taught us: "Hair grows. Hair grows. Hair GROWS!"

Ah, the wisdom.

She kept that quiet!

Solange Knowles plans to marry fiancé Alan Ferguson in an intimate family ceremony this weekend.

Beyoncé's little sister had kept the wedding details under wraps until now, but Us Weekly has leaked the specifics.

The DJ will tie the knot near the New Orleans home she shares with her 10-year-old son Julez. Family and friends will gather for a weekend of low-key celebrations, including a movie night on Friday and a rehearsal dinner the following day. The ceremony will take place on Sunday.

Solange tied the knot for the first time aged just 17, when she married Julez' father Daniel Smith. They divorced three years later.

The new couple have kept their relationship out of the limelight but Alan is reportedly very close to the Knowles family, and has been for years. He even co-presented an award with his future sister-in-law Beyoncé at the 2012 BET Awards.

After a dramatic few months for the Carter-Knowles family, it has not yet been confirmed whether Bey and Jay-Z will attend Solange's big day. Back in May, video footage was leaked of Solange physically attacking Jay-Z in an elevator during the Met Gala, which sparked rumours of a serious family feud.

Solange has since spoken out about the incident, saying, "What’s important is that my family and I are all good."

Hopefully the sisters have patched things up, because we reckon Blue Ivy would make a seriously adorable flower girl!

Another Spice Girls wedding!

Singer Geri Halliwell has announced her engagement to boyfriend Christopher Horner. The pair have been publicly dating since March of this year, but have been pals since 2009.

In a very Benedict Cumberbatch-style move, Geri announced her upcoming wedding with a note printed in The Times this morning.

The ad reads, "Mr C.E.J. Horner OBE and Geri Halliwell, The engagement is announced between Christian, son of Mr and Mrs G.M. Horner and Geraldine, daughter of the late Mr L.F. Halliwell and Mrs A. Parkinson." We're shocked they didn't use Geri's official name, Ginger Spice!

The couple each have children from previous relationships – Geri has an eight-year-old daughter, Bluebell, while Formula One boss Christian has a one-year-old girl from his first marriage.

We hope this is a fresh start for the It's Raining Men singer – her love life went through a rocky patch last March when she dumped boyfriend Anton Kaszubowski after finding out he was still married.

Posh, Scary and the other ladies will be getting their wedding invites soon no doubt!

No matter how well we think we know our other half, we sometimes have to remind ourselves that they had an entire life before they met us and we can’t possibly know everything. Really girls, would we even want to?! There ARE times however when an insight into your boyfriend’s past, no matter how old or trivial, is really welcome and can actually strengthen your bond.

We don’t suggest sitting his friends down and demanding to know the ins and outs of his life, pre-you, but just listen up when bromantic anecdotes and titbits are being shared. His mates mightn’t even realise it, but they’re basically giving you a front row seat to the story of the boy that became your boyfriend.

His school days
We think we have this pretty much covered, don’t we? We know he fancied Amanda in 6th year and he got rat-arsed when he missed out on his first CAO choice by five points, but what about his day-to-day school persona? His school friends are a great source of cute and heartwarming stories.

Did you hear about the time he nursed a sparrow back to health after finding it in the school yard? No, no we did not. *Heart surge.*

.
His love life
Boys have a habit of either playing down their past hook-ups or bigging them up so much, you’re not quite sure whether you’re dating Donal or The Hef. For a genuine insight, his best mate is the man to listen to.

While a big group of lads in classic banter-form have no bother pretending (and probably believing *sigh) that they were the college studs, his bessie will have the REAL story. Yes, he was heartbroken when his girlfriend dumped him in first year, but he was falling all over himself when he first started dating you. PSYCH!

His family
Families are tricky. You may not have even met them yet, so there might be a small air of mystery surrounding the whole clan, so do keep your ear to the ground. Chatting with him and his mates about potential Christmas presents can give you an insight into your boyfriend’s relationship with his family.

Thoughtful presents and a lot of preparation in the past suggests he has a close bond with his; always nice to hear, right?

Don’t be disappointed that he hasn't shared certain stories and experiences with you, there’s hundreds of things you haven’t shared with him, but there’s no malice behind it, right?
Maybe he’d feel like he was boasting if he told you he gave his Happy Meal to a wailing toddler in Maccy D’s or won the Iron Stomach competition in his final year of college, so just accept that, but DO make the most of his friend’s loose lips.

You know, he probably does the same with your mates too. Prime them quick!

More drama in the Kardashian house… well, kinda!

Rapper Tyga, who is strongly rumoured to be dating the youngest member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, Kylie, was arrested last night.

The 24-year-old singer was pulled over by police for speeding in Los Angeles while filming a new music video. He was reportedly driving a Rolls Royce through a tough neighbourhood with several others in the car when he was pulled over for "unsafe lane changes and unsafe speed."

We wonder what Kylie had to say about that!

The rapper was handcuffed but was eventually released – though his bodyguard was then taken back to the station. Far from heading home to take it easy after a whirlwind day, Tyga headed on to an event at the House of Blues in LA, where he was scheduled to perform. That's dedication!

Although Kylie and Tyga partied together at French Montana's birthday party two nights ago, it seems he hasn't yet been fully accepted by the Kardashian sisters. Kim in particular is not happy about the blossoming relationship, according to a source.

As a close friend of Tyga's ex Blac Chyna, Kim feels her little sister has put her in an awkward situation. She even cheekily cropped Tyga out of this picture before posting it to Instagram – the one on the right is the one that made it to social media:

Ouch!

Ever watched a film and then watched the same scene over and over? Yeah, us too. Whether it’s the atmosphere, the chemistry between the characters or the accompanying music, some scenes are just stand-outs. And we all know that romantic ones, if done well, can have us pressing rewind for days on end.

Here are just a few love scenes that we not only wanted to watch, but actually wanted to STAR in. Girls, are you with us on these?

The Departed
Billy, played by Leonardo Di Caprio, rocked up to Madolyn’s house in torrential rain, complimented her old photos and when neither them (nor us) could take the tension anymore, catapulted into each other.

Clothes came off and bodies melded, all to the atmospheric sounds of Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd.  Ehm yeah, we’ll take that.

The Notebook
We know the moment that Noah and Allie finally made love was really romantic and all, but was anyone even more moved by the scene which saw Allie discover the painting room Noah had made for her?

The paper arrows, her childlike curiosity and the look on her face when she realised that Noah was encouraging the passion that the other man in her life had completely dismissed. Oh, we can’t take it!

Pretty Woman
Vivian had finally extracted herself from the man that had shown her there was more to life than the gritty Hollywood streets, but he wasn’t letting her go that easy.

Facing his fear of heights, he climbs the fire escape to her top floor apartment , armed with roses, and plays out her Prince Charming fantasy. Do these things actually happen in real life? Who cares, rewind!

Cruel Intentions
After the multiple ups and downs of their relationship, it was only fair that Sebastian and Annette experienced a loving, tender first night together, right?

The lead up with the declaration of love, the camera angles, their glistening skin and the gentle words of reassurance. It was perfect. And if we’re being honest, we also got a secret thrill at now knowing what Reese and Ryan looked like in their pre-divorce bed. Wowza.

Juno
When 16-year-old Juno reveals her love for Paulie on the school’s running track and goes on to list the various reasons she finds him perfect, we got a major attack of the feels.

Her vulnerability, his vulnerability, the tic-tacs; what MORE could you want from a romantic scene?

Taylor likes big butts and she cannot lie…apparently.

It seems the twenty-four-year-old Grammy winner shares many of the same body hang-ups that other girls her age worry about. A source close to the star has shockingly revealed that Taylor thinks her figure is to blame for the current lull in her love life. It really makes us sad to think Taylor would come to that conclusion.

The source close to the Out of the Woods singer spoke to OK! magazine and said: “She figures if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em, so she’s trying a new butt-enhancing workout.”

The singer has come in for criticism in the past for wearing hot pants, which many said didn’t suit her tall, slim figure, but we applauded the beautiful Taylor for wearing what she liked and looking super hot at the same time!

Perhaps the criticism affected her more than we think however, if the latest reports that she’ll do whatever it takes to alter her figure are to be believed. We’re all for going after what you want, but we hope the normally sassy Taylor knows how stunning she looks exactly as she is.

Remember last January when Justin Bieber decided it would be a good idea to egg his neighbour’s house in Calbasas, California? We’re pretty sure by the time July rolled around and the singer found himself agreeing to a plea deal to ensure he avoided jail time, he will have realised what an unsmooth move it was.

But in case the twenty-year-old singer needed any further confirmation that egging someone’s house is a bad idea, having to shell out $80,000 to settle the case would most likely make him think twice in the future. $80,000 is one expensive prank, right?

The incident is in the headlines again because Justin’s lawyer, Shawn Holley, today updated a judge on the singer’s progress in adhering to the rules and regulations passed down

Further to the $80,000 pay-out, the ex-boyfriend of Selena Gomez has been ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from his victim and has thus far completed four of twelve court ordered anger management classes. This is in addition to the five days community service the baby-faced singer has to complete as punishment for the vandalism charge.

Justin is currently working with MusiCares which is an organisation set up to help musicians fighting health and addictions problems and will remain on probation until 2016.

We presume Justin's egging days are now behind him!

If you've ever patted yourself on the back for arriving to work at 9.04am instead of your usual 9.15am, or confidently strolled into a restaurant at 8.30pm thinking that's what everyone else meant by "7ish," then you can count yourself as a member of the Late People's Club.

Some of us are just naturally late. It's nothing personal against anyone, we just can't seem to make it anywhere on time.

Our fellow latecomers will understand, but when you're the only Late Person in your group of friends/class/office, it can result in some seriously awkward situations.

Here are a few Late Person problems we face every day. The struggle is real, folks.

1. Battling the snooze button
In your half-awake state you somehow manage to convince yourself that you DEFINITELY don't need to get up yet, or at all for that matter. Cue a frantic rush out the door with no make-up on when you finally jolt awake fifteen minutes before you're meant to be in work. Oops.

2. Rushing. Always rushing.
It's a wonder you haven't given yourself a stomach ulcer by now for the amount of public transport-related stress you experience every day. "Why, why, WHY is this bus driving so slowly?"

3. Always being late no matter how much time you allow
It's as if the tasks you need to do to get ready somehow expand to fit the time you have. Oh, you've allowed yourself an hour to get ready for your night out instead of 45 minutes? Don't worry… you'll still be late as usual.

4. Enduring the tense silence when you enter an important event late
Even if you've only missed the first 30 seconds of that morning meeting, the pain of trying to find a seat, take your coat off and mutter "sorry, sorry, bus was late" while everyone pretends not to judge you is enough to make you swear you'll NEVER be late again. Until next week.

5. Struggling to come up with new excuses every time
"Bad traffic" worked for a while, until you accidentally mentioned to your boss that you walk to work every day. "Um… I couldn't find my shoes?"

6. Arriving everywhere out of breath
There's nothing more attractive than showing up to your Tinder date fifteen minutes late with a big sweaty face. Sexy!

7. Debating whether to tell the truth to whoever's waiting
Ok, you could just own up and say you're running late and probably won't be in town for 40 minutes. But somehow every time it just feels easier to send a cheery "There in five!" text. Five what? Five hours?!

8. Deluding yourself that you actually WILL be "there in five"
It'll be graaaand. Just don't check your watch for at least twenty minutes to keep up the illusion.

9. Reeling in shock when something starts on time
Yes, the film was due to start at 6.30pm. But we all know that the ads take at LEAST half an hour, right? Right?!

10. Allowing just enough time, only for something to go drastically wrong
Ah, the bus broke down. Great. Just great. Why is the whole world against us?!

Rapper Nicki Minaj  is no stranger to controversy, but she may have gone too far this time. The thirty-one-year old singer has come under fire as a result of the video for her latest track, Only.

The Anti Defamation League has slammed Nicki for using “unadulterated Nazi imagery” in her new animated video. The video, also featuring Drake, Lil Wayne and Chris Brown, is littered with what appears to be various references to Nazism.

Nicki appears as a dictator, while soldiers sporting red arm bands reminiscent of those worn by SS officers also feature, but unfortunately, it doesn’t stop there.

Flags with interlocking Y and M letters have been compared to swastikas while explosions and gas masks only add to the speculation that the Anaconda singer is trivialising that particular period in history.

The national director of ADL, Abraham H Foxman, who himself survived the Holocaust has said: “This video is insensitive to Holocaust survivors. The abuse of Nazi imagery is deeply disturbing and offensive to Jews and all those who can recall the sacrifices Americans and many others had to make as a result of Hitler’s Nazi juggernaut.”

Nicki has yet to comment or respond to the allegations. What do you think of the rapper's latest offering?

If you're trying to drop a few pounds, a simple tip is just to skip the fad diets and stock up on non-processed, wholesome food that'll keep you full and boost your metabolism.

Some foods can even do a bit of the work for you when it comes to losing weight. Here are a few to include in your "Christmas party dress" diet….

1. Mushrooms
These cute little vegetables really pack a nutritional punch – and they help to regulate blood sugar too, meaning your body can maintain a healthy weight more easily and can endure exercise for longer. Forget the Lucozade Sport and cook yourself up some of these bad boys!

2. Eggs
Eggs are a great breakfast option that will leave you feeling full right up until lunch. They're also a great addition to salads for a lunchtime meal that won't have you craving snacks later.

3. Apples
Fibre is the name of the game if you're trying to avoid late afternoon hunger pangs, and apples are full of the stuff! They're also a great energising food to eat first thing in the morning.

4. Porridge
The slow-release carbohydrates in porridge oats mean you won't be looking for a bar of chocolate or a biccie come 11am. Top your bowl with berries, seeds and nuts for an even healthier morning meal.

5. Almonds
Raw almonds are the dieter's best friend – they're a great quick fix for hunger pangs. Try to limit yourself to a handful – chew them slowly to let your brain register the feeling of fullness.

6. Broccoli
This low-calorie veg is full of fibre, and works great as a substitute for other high-fat side dishes. Swap your chips or mash for broccoli and other cooked veg once or twice a week and you'll soon notice you feel less bloated and more energised.
