There are many things we look for in a pair of high heels, but totally see through usually isn't the most desirable of aspects.

That being said, perspex heels are taking Instagram by storm, and whether you want to showcase your perfect pedicure or your fishnet tights, these heels are the way to do it.

Kim Kardashian and her clear Yeezus boots officially started the trend for transparent footwear, when she stepped out with her legs clad thigh high in plastic.

The rest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan followed suit, sitting front row at Yeezus shows and gallivanting around Calabasas in the translucent threads.

Unfortunately, the Kardashian's clobber costs about €800, and with broke January being in full swing (along with broke life) we simply don't have the cash to splash.

Luckily where the Kardashians go, the high street follows, and perspex heels are hitting the high street and online stores hard.

Despite the potential for what has to be a tsunami of sweatiness, the boots are proving uber popular on Instagram, with fashion bloggers and regular girls alike sporting the futuristic trend.

We managed to find a complete dupe of the perspex creations for an affordable €30 at Quanticlo

However not everyone is jumping on the plastic fantastic bandwagon, with haters decreeing the shoes to be "ugly" and a sure fire way to make your feet stink.

While we cannot confirm or deny the rumours about podiatry odours, we think these shoes look pretty damn amazing teamed with some socks for spring and bare legs for summer.

Just be sure to book in for a pedicure before you don these show-everything shoes.

Party season has officially landed, and what better way to add a fun element to any outfit than with some Disney magic?

These Minnie Mouse high heels have been breaking the Internet lately, with thousands of Pinterest pins and Instagram likes.

Unfortunately, they are notoriously hard to get your hands on, especially in Ireland. Until now, that is.

The shoes are perfect for those of us who grew up in the Disney renaissance, with the very best of Minnie, Mickey and all of the original Disney princesses.

The shoes have just landed in coveted Dublin boutique Cari's Closet, so we can finally get our mitts of them.

A video posted by Cari's Closet (@cariscloset_ie) on

The genius behind the shoes is Oscar Tiye, a world renowned shoe designer.

The whimsical shoes were designed as "the perfect shoes for a Disneyland wedding" but the cute design is too good to be reserved for bridal.

The cute Minnie ears are making us all nostalgic for Disney duvet days.

Flip flops and gladiator sandals are all well and good, but come Autumn/Winter there’s nothing quite like a new pair of boots.

And while we are loving this year’s backless loafer trend, with plenty of rain guaranteed for the coming months, we think a decent pair of boots would fare the Irish fashionista that bit better.

On that note, here are three of our favourite boot trends for Autumn/Winter.

The Sock Boot: Sock boots are everywhere this season and with every colour, texture and heel height to choose from, there’s bound to be a pair to suit all tastes.

The Over-The-Knee Boot: This style was everywhere last winter and with The Guardian dubbing it the “footwear [trend] of the decade” we don’t think it’s going anywhere fast.  Whether worn with a short suede skirt or over a pair of jeans, the over-the-knee boot will have you Autumn/Winter ready.

This week we got a tour inside Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian's homes – and everyone went WILD over Khloe's unreal shoe closet.

But, Blake Lively has now given us a glimpse of her own shoe closet, and all we can say is wow.

She shared the jealousy-inducing closet on Instagram last night to show off a new item gifted to her by a friend – an accessory tray with Vogue's Anna Wintour.

Blake joked about the item (that we all wish we had) by saying, "Saint of Fashion to watch over my style choices… Always. No pressure."

Now, one thing that Blake Lively has is style, and somehow she always seems to get it right.

All we can say is Serena Van Der Woodson would be proud.

Pippa O'Connor wasn't voted VIP's Most Stylish Woman 2015 for nothing, you know.

The model and expectant mum took to Instagram this morning to show off a very stylish addition to her home décor – an entire wall dedicated to her shoe collection.

"Boy did good," she wrote, thanking her husband Brian Ormond for her new #shoewall:

"Just need a few more walls though."

Is it bad that our own shoe collection would probably fit on one of those shelves and there would still be room to spare?

As for dressing her bump in her usual super-stylish manner, Pippa revealed recently that she was finding maternity style a little simpler with baby number two.

"Bump-wise I definitely feel a bit neater this time," she said, just four months from her due date.

And even after her second child arrives – a baby brother or sister for two-year-old Ollie – Pippa says she won't be relaxing too much in the style stakes.

"I’m lucky, I don’t need to get up and  look presentable in an office," she told the Irish Examiner.

"If I want to say at home in my pajamas for a month, then I can do that but I probably won’t disappear for too long."

Every Christmas season there's a key festive fashion stable that seems to take over.

And this year – we're particularly taken with the red fringe shoes that are on a whole load of seriously stylish feet right now.

Better still: two killer versions are available in two of our favourite stores – River Island AND Penneys.

This version from River Island is now reduced to €45

Previously, the former pair were priced at a cool €75, but it's now come to our attention that riversland.com (as well as stores nationwide) has marked them down to just €45.

Thank you, wardrobe gods!

But here's the spanner in the works: Penneys is selling its red fringe shoes for just €19. And other than a little tassel detail on the ankle, they are remarkable similar.

The offering from Penneys is priced at just €19

So what's a gal to do?!

Well, we'd only be delira with either offering: indeed, a quick reconnaissance mission to Penneys and River Island – along with a bank balance evaluation – should help us along our way.

Furthermore, we've been reminded that there plenty more footwear gems lurking about in both stores.

Here's what caught our eye in particular (and can you guess which is which?):

left River Island, €60
right Penneys, €18

left Penneys, €20
right River Island, €45 (reduced from €80)

Winter is the best time of the year to invest in some great footwear so we were delighted to hear our fave Irish comic queen has returned with another shoe collection for us to drool over.

The ever stylish Hubes posted a pic to her instagram yesterday from her latest campaign with Bourbon footwear. Her fifth collection with the footwear retailer features a wide range of styles and colours from metallic pointed heels to suede charcoal grey boots.

Speaking to Xpose, Amy picks the delectable ‘Forever Young’ grey suede high heeled boot as her favourite from the collection, calling it her ultimate “dressy shoe boot.” Available from just €119.99, these boots are perfect to get you through the party season.

Amy has revealed that her different shoe types are named after some of her favourite films. For example, the Bullitt is named after a 1968 film by Steve McQueen. Cute! There is also the ‘Atonement’ (a peep-toe heel), the ‘Fame’ (a sparkly ankle boot) and the ‘Grease’ (a biker boot of course!).

The 'Sixteen Candles' in Blush €99.99
The 'Grease' Biker Boot in Noir €129.99,
The 'Singing in the Rain' boot in Couch €129.99
The 'Working Girl' Flat in Pewter €99.99

Lucky for us all the collection is already available to peruse online, but make sure you are quick because certain styles are already selling out.

We are counting down the days to payday!

When you think of UGG boots, you probably think of the year 2003.

And that's fair enough. The Australian company basically took over the footwear market (as far as teenage girls were concerned) in the early noughties.

If you remember correctly, Juicy Couture and Von Dutch trucker hats were also a pretty big deal at the time.

Today however, they have basically become a taboo in the fashion world. They don’t even make it into that ironically vintage category yet.

Except the brand is evolving. In fact, over the last number of years, Ugg boots have been getting a serious makeover. The results? Not the fluffy contraptions you had come to know so well.

In January, Vogue was all about embracing the "ugly shoe". They look great with a vintage dress and chunky knit, and according to the fashion bible's own Laura Weir:  "That's how I wore mine in the South of France last summer."

Quite a change from how we have come to view the fuzzy boots since they first arrived:

Below are just some of the samples we found on their website, and we have to admit, they're not half bad.

You can’t really deny that Ugg boots were a real winner in the comfort department, so we shall have to wait and see how the new and improved versions fare.

Not a hint of fleece to be found here (€190):

Not just boots anymore either (€160):

The UGG take on the over-the-knee trend (€230):

These might be our favourite pair so far (€190)

This pair are fully lined with sheepskin… such luxury (€420):
