mean girls

Have you ever had think for a second when someone informs you that 2000 was fifteen years ago and not five? It can be pretty terrifying. Where has the time gone? Are we adults now?

If you ever needed a reminder that time has indeed passed while you were busy buying UGG boots and watching Netflix, then allow us to take you on a trip down memory lane. These gems will definitely make all 00s kids feel old.

Teens today don't even know what these are:

There are people in schools today who won't know this struggle:

Mean Girls was released in 2004. That is 11 years ago:

Does anyone really miss this look though?

People have Gmail accounts older than those coveted Juicy tracksuits:

Gmail came along in 2004, but Juicy started a velour world domination in 2001.

J-Lo wore her hair this way once and it was very on-trend:

Rachel and Ross's daughter Emma would be 13 now, and this what the twins who played her look like:

Lizzie Maguire is a mom now:

Kim K used to wear things like this:

It was a time when Kim wore gold chains and massive hoop earrings and went rollerbooting.

Actually, the 00s was a time when all Kardashians wore mostly matching satin:

It's sad that the Kardashians no longer wear co-ordinating satin.

They shocked their fans back in July when they jointly announced their breakup on Twitter.

But two months on, Vogue Williams has revealed that she doesn't miss her wedding and engagement rings too much – because Brian McFadden, 35, never actually asked for them back.

"They're so heavy!" she said of the spectacular 4ct, square-cut stone engagement ring and diamond-encrusted wedding band that she wore for three years following their September 2012 nuptials.

"And I still have them, he didn't ask for them back!"

Certainly the duo remain on great terms – with Ms Williams commenting that she thinks her estranged spouse's new single, Call On Me Brother, is "brilliant".

"I'll definitely be at Whelan's to support him," the 29-year-old DJ added, referring to his recently-announced gig at the popular Dublin venue on November 4.

"Everyone thinks it's so weird we're still friends, but we were best friends from the start so even though it's really hard to break up I'd hate to lose him as a friend."

However, Vogue admitted that retaining their closeness will eventually prove challenging: "It definitely won't always be as easy as it is now to stay friends… we're not seeing other people at the moment but when those things change it'll be harder.

"For now we're trying to stay mature and not publicly kill each other."

Dublin-native Ms Williams was speaking at the launch of RTE 2's new autumn schedule, which took place at the station's Montrose campus.

A total of 30 new series and 18 documentaries were announced for the forthcoming season, with Vogue herself fronting Mean Girls, a three-part show where she meets sexually adventurous, MMA fighting and law-breaking women who defy traditional perceptions of the ‘fairer sex’.

This is brilliant!

Who cares if butter's a carb because there's a new Mean Girls candy collection and we are TOTALLY on it.

Dylan's Candy Bar is making all of our teenage dreams come true by recreating our favourite film in the form of sweets!

Teaming up with Paramount Pictures, the confection store will be selling a multitude of pieces to honour the movie.

Some of the most memorable lines are being used on the new candy, like "You Go Glen Coco" hot chocolate, Burn Book Cookies and even "Is butter a carb?" popcorn flavoured jelly beans.

And remember the bars Cady (Lindsay Lohan) gave Regina (Rachel McAdams) to make her fat? They're also making them too.

The store will also be offering theme clothes and accessories, like a "Cool Mom" plastic wine cup, pink tote bags, hair ties and a shirt that reads, "On Wednesdays we eat pink".

Founder and CEO of Dylan's Candy Bar Dylan Lauren said in a press release, "There is a reason a movie like Mean Girls is such a hit! The witty dialogue, the authenticity, girl empowerment and friendship… these things are timeless. I can't wait to share the collection and relive some of the hilarious pop culture references that were inspired by the movie."

We're having a major love-in with Penneys lately.

Its autumn stock as just landed – and contains a number of key, killer capes, boots, hats and jewellery that we're coveting until pay-day.

But the retailer also does fun and funky accessories rather well – and when we spotted these AMAZING socks, well, let's just say that we'll be stocking up (socking up?) with at least one pair in each design.

Costing just €3, the items feature either a Mean Girls or Clueless motif, and come in a soft pastel hue.

Two relevant catch-phrases – "On Wednesdays we wear pink," and "Ugh as if," also adorn the socks.

And we reckon for an added spring in our step, slipping these on under winter boots would be just as much fun as wearing them around the house.

Arguably, she hasn't had a hit in Hollywood in close-to a decade.

Certainly, her last role of any note in a major feature film was playing Diane Howser in the moderately successful Bobby. Released in 2006, it also starred Ashton Kutcher, Helen Hunt and William H Macy.

Since then, Lindsay Lohan has had bit parts in independent films, as well as various cameo appearances. She even nabbed a West End role late last year, but that has now concluded – leaving her, once again, unemployed.

Often seen in London in the company of wealthy men, a source told the New York Post's Page Six that the 29-year-old is "broke," and "sleeping at different guys’ apartments." They added: "But she thinks she’s Elizabeth Taylor."

The same website also says that Lindsay was recently approached by Burger King, which wanted her to star in one of its ads.

Apparently, she was asked to wear a Spicy Chicken Fries box, smoke a chicken fry like a cigarette, and vamp a “spicy” monologue.

Understandably, her management company weren't happy with how the advert set out to mock her, but they also know she isn't in a position to turn down work.

"Lohan and her managers at Untitled Talent suggested some alternate concepts to no avail," Page Six explains; meaning her representatives were eventually forced to politely decline the fast food chain's offer.

Earlier this week, Lindsay posted a bizarre image to Instagram to mark her 29th birthday.

The shot showed the bottom half of the New York native's body. She is pulling down her white under-pants, and also has on a white shirt and black strappy sandals.

My birthday is tomorrow!!!!! Where shall I go to soak up the sun and be with my sister!!!???

2015 should represent new beginnings of sorts for Li-Lo. The ongoing legal troubles which dominated her 20s – she has been arrested, charged and even jailed on several occasions – are finally behind her.

But it seems her once-promising acting career has been largely killed off.

One industry insider recently commented: "A couple of years ago she was the train-wreck that no one could get enough of – the world was fascinated by how spectacularly she'd come off the rails. She was paparazzi gold.

"But now? She doesn't even have that. Her tabloid appeal has really worn off.

"She's been relegated to the same status as a one-time soap actress or former reality TV star."

Does everyone remember Aaron Samuels? That guy who was a complete babe and had a weird fetish about his girlfriend’s face smelling like peppermint?

He also caused a lot of drama for The Plastics, but we still miss him.

Well you don’t have to miss him any longer because Aaron, actual name Jonathan Bennett, is making his way to our screens again. Finally!

The Mean Girls actor has joined the Food Network series Cake Wars. The 34-year old is set to host the American series which challenges four bakers to battle it out and create the best cake they can for a prize of almost €9,000.

Jonathan has admitted that while he’s delighted to be a part of the show, he’s also very excited about a particular aspect of the job description: the cake tasting.

"I like cake. Who doesn't like cake? Cake is delicious."

Mr Bennett, you’ve taken the words right out of our mouths.

While we were all secretly hoping for a rainbows and smiles type recipe to be top of the actor’s list, it turns out he’s a much savvier baker.

His go-to cake creation is a little out there, but we’ll settle for just watching him master the kitchen: "It's cornbread cake, and then you layer it with macaroni and cheese and then you drizzle it with buffalo sauce."

We have no worries about the actor keeping it clean in the kitchen, however bizarre the recipes get, because we all know by now: his hair does look sexy pushed back.

Jonathan just can’t seem to escape the compliment, but he doesn’t seem too worried about it;

“Today alone, six fans have told me my hair looks sexy pushed back,” he says. “And the reason fans say that to me every day is because they love the movie. I’m glad to hear it.”

We would love to have seen how Regina George would have reacted to him donning a nice chef’s hat and apron though.

Great news for devoted Mean Girls fans (with a, erm, fair bit of cash to spare).

The huge mansion that was the home of head of the plastics Regina George is now up for sale for a staggering €14 million.

Soooo maybe we can't buy it, but can they please start doing tours?

The two acre estate is in Toronto and includes a fountain, spa, and wine cellar.

Not only that, the 20,000 square feet mansion comes with an outdoor swimming pool, and VERY luxurious rooms.

We're talking bathing like a queen here while a Zac Efron lookalike feeds you grapes.

Well, that isn't part of the deal but we're sure if you have the kind of money to afford the property in the first place you can put some aside for it.

As amazing as it is, we still don't know if we prefer the beautiful house in the Notebook.

Rachel McAdams has seen her fair share of fancy homes.

Mean Girls was released in 2004 and has been a favourite and often quoted teenage movie ever since.

That is so fetch.

It has been rumoured months ago during last season’s Fashion Week that Kendall Jenner was suffering at the hands of mean girl models who had gone as far as to stub a cigarette out in her drink.

At the time, the rumours were played down by Kendall herself, who assured fans that all was good and that she and all of the models were model besties. Or something like that.

Now it would seem two models have been caught in action being very shady indeed. Binx Walton and Lexi Boling both commented on a photo of Kendall on German Vogue's Instagram account from NYFW that other commenters had said was not a very good photo of the young model.

Though we think she looks great, many believed it was not one of Kendall’s finer photos and the models also seemed to think so, with Lexi tagging Binx and writing: “She’s never looked better” – a phrase that was clearly seen to be sarcastic when paired with the cry-laughing emoji.

Binx replied, saying: “that’s fuc*ed up.” Not very nice now, is it girls?

Thankfully, the two seem to have been put in their place with Ford modelling agency issuing a statement from Lexi that read: “I wasn’t thinking and made a silly comment. Kendall’s had a killer NYFW. A big congrats to her.”

No cry-laughing emoji on this one but we reckon it might be implied…

As one of the most famous young stars in the world, Kendall Jenner finds herself at the centre of gossip on a daily basis.

Not only that, but with a social media following in the millions, not every comment she receives is particularly complimentary.

From rumours that she is the reason behind Justin and Selena’s break-up to nasty comments about her personal appearance and talent, all of this negativity must get to the 19-year-old.

Indeed, it does, which is why the model and reality star decided to address her haters in possibly the most epic way ever.

Collaborating with Dazed magazine, the star channels her inner Regina George to create a Mean Girls-inspired Burn Book.

The only twist is, Kendall uses comments and insults her followers and critics have aimed at her.

This is pretty powerful stuff, and it will definitely make you think about our ‘keyboard warrior’ culture.

Check out the epic video, below.

Entertainment Weekly have managed to get all of our favourite mean girls in a photo shoot together – and they even pulled Ms. Norbery in too!

Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, Lacey Chabert and Tina Fey each looked stunning in the shoot which featured them in shimmering gowns.

All we need to know now is where is Janice?!

Mean Girls wasn’t the only movie to get the official reunion treatment as the cast of Napolean Dynamite, Ghostbusters and Little House on the Prairie also came together for some shots.

Mean Girls is our obvious favourite though, naturally…

Mean Girls star Daniel Franzese has made a parody of Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me” and it is EPIC!

It’s called “Please Go Home” and tells the story of an awkward one night stand where the person just will not go home.

We think Damien would definitely approve of this cover – it is SO fetch!

It seems Lindsay Lohan is on a mission – a Mean Girls sequel mission to be specific – and we are 100% behind her on this one!

The 27-year-old who starred in the movie alongside Amanda Seyfried may have actually managed to convince Tina Fey to write a sequel. Cue plenty of squealing from us!

Lindsay and her former co-stars were taking part in a photoshoot for an American magazine when they put the plan into action.

According to a source: “''Lindsay spent most of her day joking around with her former castmates – including Amanda Seyfried and Tina. They all got on so well that they have managed to get Tina to write them a proper sequel. It would, of course, see Lindsay make a much-needed return to Hollywood and possibly launch a full-scale movie comeback. This is great news for her.''

The troubled child star has admitted that she would love to star in a British movie once her starring role in the play Speed-the-Plow comes to an end. It would be pretty convenient if she did manage to get Tina to write a sequel – it might keep her out of trouble as well.
