When it comes to love triangles, few tore us up more than the one which took place between Cady Heron, Regina George and Aaron Samuels.

And just when we thought we'd gotten over the whole thing (four for us, Glen Coco), Mean Girls stars, Lindsay Lohan and Jonathan Bennett, sent us into free fall by revealing that they still keep in contact with each other.

In a shot which Lindsay shared on Instagram last night, fans of the film were reassured that the witty banter – "It's October 3rd" – which played out between Cady and Aaron was as fresh as ever.

The post which has clocked up almost 15,000 likes in 12 hours has been inundated with comments from Mean Girls fans, with one writing: "Cady and Aaron, keeping the Mean Girls spirit alive!"

"I just have so many questions about this picture," wrote one while another noted: "Aaron Samuels still looks sexy with his hair pushed back."

We're not quite sure where Rachel Mc Adams was for the catch-up, but something tells us we should check the projector room…

See what we did there?

Yesterday, the Internet was FILLED with Mean Girls memes and gifs to celebrate, October 3 which is Mean Girls Day.

We'll never forget the moment Aaron Samuels asked Cady what day it was…

Well, now the creators are going one further by announcing a Mean Girls musical is definitely on its way.

The official Twitter for the movie took to the social media site and wrote: "BREAKING Oct 3rd NEWS! The Mean Girls musical is coming to Washington DC Fall of 2017!"

And if the next tweet was anything to go by, we're guessing the set list is going to have some major songs on it.

Tina Fey has been wanting this for years now and multiple sources are reporting that the project is a collaboration with her husband, composer Jeffrey Richmond, and Tony Award-nominated lyricist Nell Benjamin.

We're excited!

Congratulations are in order for Lacey Chabert, she has just given birth to a baby girl!

The Mean Girls star took to Instagram to share a photo of her new baby daughter, who she had with her hubby, Dave Nehdar.

She continued, "Julia, you are my heart's deepest dream come true. I love you more than I could ever say. Welcome to this big beautiful world sweet girl!"

Glenn Coco is one of the most recognisable names in the world of teen movies, but his face? Well, his face, not so much.

In a Mean Girls scene which we tend to recreate any time we have to divide anything between our friends, Damian can be seen distributing Candy Canes around Cady's classroom, and good ol' Glen Coco manages to get his hands on four.

While his name steals the scene, viewers only get the briefest glimpse of the back of his head, so if you've spent the last 12 years wondering exactly what Glenn Coco looked like, you can stop right now.

Almost ended up in a 127 hours type situation to get this view.

Played by David Reale, Glenn Coco is a bit of a looker, and only got himself a part on the film on account of being super hungry. (No, seriously.)

Speaking to Dazed, David explained: "I actually auditioned for a different part in the movie. I didn't get it."

"I wasn't 'officially' cast in the film at all – my first day was my only day," he said. "I just spent it trying not to look guilty while I ate all the free food."

"What happened was, they ended up filming a lot of the school stuff right across the park from my apartment in Toronto," he explained.

Trapped in a box of infinite vanity, thirty thousand feet in the air.

"One day I sort of wandered onto set to see if I could watch some scenes being shot and maybe get some free food – I was a 19-year-old actor with no money so eating was a daily mission."

Impressed by his nerve, the director gave David a role, and Glen Coco was born.

Altogether now, four for you…

Long before Mean Girls was given a Dublin makeover, Disney characters were given a Mean Girls makeover, and every now and again we check in on it… you know… for the lols.

Like YouTube sensations, Antoine Dodson and Sweet Brown, Mean Disney Girls has been a source of mirth in the SHEmazing! HQ for years, and today we decided to revisit the little gem.

And it seems we’re not alone.

Despite the fact it was uploaded a staggering six years ago, people continue to view and comment on it  – hello 13,183,102 hits – and their comments are almost as fetch as the vid itself.

“The funny thing is that I've always thought that Aurora looked like a bitch,” wrote one while another quoted the best line in the whole damn film, writing ”I just wanna bake a cake full of rainbows and smiles and we can all just eat it and be happy."

Oh, and then there’s the Disney version of Damien.

I mean, need we say more?

It's been 12 years since the release of Mean Girls, and yet we still find ourselves quoting lines from it on the regular.

From muttering 'She doesn't even go here' when a colleague is banging on to thinking 'So you agree, you think you're really pretty' when someone accepts a compliment a bit too quickly, the teen flick has clearly become engrained in our generation's conscience.

And while it obviously spoke to us on an emotional level, us Irish ladies are not as familiar with the various cliques which exist in American high schools.

But Dublin? Dublin, we know.

And that is why the latest offering from YouTube and Facebook comedian, Enya Martin, has struck a chord with thousands of us this week.

Shared on her Giz a Laugh Facebook page, Enya parodies Mean Girls, and offers all of us an insight into how the film might have played out had it been set in our capital city.

Ladies, down your tools – This one needs your undivided attention.

Aaaaalll youuuu sucka MC's ain't got nothin' on Kevin G.

Rajiv Surendra stole the show back in 2004 with his hilarious portrayal of mathlete and aspiring rapper, Kevin Gnapoor (the G is silent), in the hit film Mean Girls.

Kevin G became widely known for his rapping abilities, taking to stage in the movie to spit some rhymes at the high school talent show.

Come on…we all remember the words.

Much to our surprise, Rajiv did not pursue a career in hip-hop, and he hasn't acted since 2005!

The 27-year-old has been pursuing a career in art and calligraphy, and being a total BABE.

Yes, the former math nerd is now a heartthrob, and we have the pictures to prove it!

As we all know, life as a teenager is far from easy and when you sometimes struggle to distinguish between a friend and a frenemy, school can become totally agonising.

Acknowledging this all-too-common pitfall in teen relationships, Wimbledon High School in the UK has hired a consultant to discuss 'failing friendships' with their pupils aged between 13 and 15-years-old.

Commenting on the intensity of teenage friendships, the principal, Jane Lunnon, said: "Of course they want to do well in exams and playing musical instruments but the thing that often is the big driver in years eight and nine are their friendships."

As the head of the school, Ms Lunnon is very aware the impact a failing friendship can have on a student's academic life.

"We recognise that what you teach them about failure in academics is also relevant to the way they manage their social relationships. They are learning there will be disappointments as part of friendships and that’s okay."

By offering teenage girls an insight into the pitfalls which can occur among friendship groups, Wimbledon High School feel they are providing their pupils with adequate armour to navigate secondary school life.

"We found that it really helps them keep things in perspective and breaks down toxic cliquey gangs. They learn not to berate themselves or say something is irreconcilable," Ms Lunnon continued.

The school recently held a 'fail better' week which sought to show students how to learn from their mistakes without fearing future failure.

Mean Girls is arguably the greatest teen comedy of our generation, so naturally it simply needed to be turned into a musical.

Thankfully, the film's creator Tina Fey agrees and has admitted in an interview that she is working on it.

We may not have many details yet, but it's safe to say that it is going to be sensational, right Regina?

K.

"My husband [composer] Jeff Richmond and I, [along with lyricist] Nell Benjamin, have been working on it," said Tina when asked about the project.

Obviously, our dying wish is to see Jingle Bell Rock performed on-stage as part of a Mean Girls stage-show, so we are all over this.

But unfortunately Tina remained tight-lipped when asked for more details about the project.

And we all know that is why her hair is so big right now (it's full of secrets).

Mean Girls may be the most iconic teen movie of our generation, but this trailer completely flips the comedy on it's head.

Instead of a hilarious satire on high school 'mean girls', Mashable has made a trailer for Mean Girls as a romantic drama based on a secret romance between Cady and Janice.

And it is really convincing…

It is also a movie we would absolutely watch.

She was probably our fave Mean Girl in the movie, with her big hair that's full of knowledge and all, but now the actress Lacey Chabert is going to be a mother.

"Kitty doesn't seem as excited as we are about this…I'm pregnant!!!!" she wrote on Instagram. "My husband and I are thrilled & so thankful."

She shared a picture of her dog with the message too, and her dog is seen wearing a shirt that says, "My mom is having a baby & all I get is this silly shirt."

Lacey and her husband, Dave Nedhar have been happily married since January 2014, just days after Kaley Cuoco married her now-ex.

Linsday Lohan has officially confirmed what we have all believed for quite some time now, Mean Girls 2 does not count as a sequel to our beloved Mean Girls

However, it has become clear that the 29-year old is keen for a different sequel to go into development: Mean Moms.

Lindsay posted a screen shot of a conversation she was having with a friend earlier today about the prospect. She captioned the photo: "wow I do feel a bit late on this one haha (next step: #MEANMOMS) I'm trying to make it happen!"

One of the first things we noticed about the Instagram upload was that Lindsay did not remember why today's date was so special. We were shocked, how could she?

However, it did click once her friend sent her a picture of Cady and Aaron and that famous exchange in the film.

It’s been 11 years since Mean Girls was released and the film became a classic of sorts. It’s the film many a 00s girls can recite without prompting. Many would, of course be very excited about a possible sequel. totally stoked by a sequel.

Could it happen?

Jennifer Aniston is set to star in Mean Moms. A film based on a book by Rosalind Wiseman, who also wrote the book on which Mean Girls was based. There’s been no confirmation that Mean Moms is a sequel, but the internet has very strong feelings in favour of that happening.

Maybe Lindsay was hinting at an appearance alongside Jennifer Aniston?  Or is she trying to make another sequel happen?
