Dublin is a great city to capture on the ‘Gram – if you know where to go that is! A colourful and vibrant city full of cool spots, it’s easy to write it off as a tourist haven, but there’s a lot to discover around the city for anyone who’s looking to snap a few pics.

Ha’penny Bridge

Located along Bachelor’s Walk in the city centre, this iconic landmark of Dublin is the perfect spot to snap a pic! This symbol of Dublin was built in the 1800s and is named after the original fare for crossing the bridge. Its charming elliptical archway would make a gorgeous frame for a photo for your Insta!

St. Enda’s Park

Just above Marlay Park, this lesser know spot features the stunning Pádraig Pearse Museum, a walled garden and beautiful grounds, the perfect backdrop to your pictures! Particularly stunning in summer and autumn with the riot of colours in the trees and the overflowing flower beds, it’s a gorgeous spot to wander for an afternoon and stop for afternoon tea in the museum café. The river walk and steps down to it are perfect to strike a pose and get some dreamy forest-fairy-like pics!

Anne’s Lane

The Anne’s Lane overhead umbrella art installation brings a little colour and beauty to the city centre. Just off Stephen’s Green (and very close to lots of tasty restaurant spots!) it’s a great spot to dress up in something colourful and get a picture! Wait for a blue sky day and take an angled photo to truly capture all their vibrant beauty!

St Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre

An underrated spot for pictures around Dublin – usually because it’s flooded with tourists – if you can get it at a quiet time it can make for some truly striking photos. The greenhouse-style shopping mall lets in lots of light, creates some cool shadowing in the afternoon and creates a very cool background on the upper levels closer to the roof. It’s quietest in the early morning so if you want a background clear of people, try going then.

Poolbeg Lighthouse

At the end of the South Wall walk, the pretty and perfect picture spot, Poolbeg Lighthouse stands tall. The iconic, bright red lighthouse is reachable only via the walk along the long seawalk. Get your stroll in and see beautiful sunset views if you head out there in the evening.

Little Museum of Dublin

Looking for a super quirky backdrop? The Little Museum of Dublin is a really cool spot full of The chronicles the history of the city in the last century. The walls are packed with pictures and curios, there’s a recreation of the Irish Times editor’s office and rooms inspired by different decades, all in a gorgeous old Georgian building. Worth a visit for the interesting history alone, this quirky spot has vintage vibes for days for your photos!

Iveagh Gardens

Another city centre spot, this unique collection of garden landscapes designed in 1865 features a waterfall, fountains, beautiful sculptures, archways and even a rose garden. Explore the gardens and snap pics with the sundials, mazes and ponds to live your best secret garden life!

Dublin doors

Another iconic Dublin landmark, the colourful doors on the Georgian houses became symbols of the city in the 70s when an Irish-American policeman took photos of the vibrant doors and bright them back to be displayed on St. Patrick’s Day in New York. He was flooded with so many requests to buy the prints that they began to distribute them. Nowadays, we can use them for our own pictures – pro tip, colour coordinate your outfit with a few of these doors to create a cool, artsy effect! The best spots to find some of these are Fitzwilliam Square, Merrion Square and around St. Stephen’s Green.

Trending

Beauty trends may come and go, but a set of bright, pearly whites will never go out of fashion. A recent survey on Match.com ranked good teeth as the single most attractive physical trait in the opposite sex, and we are splurging more on achieving that picture-perfect, celebrity white smile than ever before, with the oral care industry set to shoot up by a whopping 33 billion Euros in just 6 years.

Whilst we may be spending more on our gnashers, the trend tide is turning on the age-old brands that have graced our bathrooms (and the bathrooms of our grandparents) for decades. According to a recent white paper by marketing forecaster Simporter, we are increasingly seeking out a more luxurious, sophisticated oral beauty experience to factor into our self-care routine – we want proven, effective products to maintain our oral health with a luxe feel that will capture the senses.

Founded in 2015 by veteran dental nurse Debbie Sleeman; Polished London toe the line between beauty and oral care beautifully. From market-leading tech to award-winning mouthwash and enamel-safe teeth whitening strips, each highly regarded product is both as attractive and a dream to use as it is effective. It’s no wonder they have amassed quite the celebrity fanbase, becoming a firm favourite of the likes of TV personality Laura Fox, Model Daisy Jelly and Presenter Joe Swash, to name but a few.

In fact, Polished’s entire product range hits the nail on the head with the latest tooth-based trends, which, according to both dental and beauty industry experts, are set to change the future of oral healthcare.

Eco-friendly, Natural Formulas

Polished London is just as careful about what ingredients go into their oral care as they are in skincare. Effective, naturally derived, eco-friendly formulas are fast becoming a priority.

Julia Roberts shared that she owes her stunning signature smile to brushing with bicarbonate of soda, the clinically proven active ingredient in Polished’s Ultra Whitening Toothpaste. (And if it’s good enough for Julia…)

Rinse with their Activated Charcoal Mouthwash, which contains natural ingredients such as castor oil, green tea and charcoal powder to create a detoxifying solution that removes stains and bad breath, leaving your mouth feeling fresh.

Both products are cruelty, nasty and alcohol free, and use natural mint flavouring for an authentically fresh mouthfeel.

The Rise of Tech

We are increasingly turning to tech for speed, convenience, and – let’s face it – to do the heavy lifting for us. The oral care industry is certainly no different, reaching past the now almost universal use of electric toothbrushes into handy gadgets that make tasks such as flossing and sterlising mouth ware a doddle.

Polished London's Hydro XP Dental Capsule does exactly that – in one super sleek, compact case is a convenient way to clean and sterilise dental aligners, retainers, dentures and mouthguards without the use of chemicals. Delivering a superior clean using a combination of high-frequency Sonic waves and powerful Ultraviolet Type-C light in just five minutes, it will save you valuable time and effort, leaving you confident that your oral appliances are hygienic and ready to use.

At Home Teeth Whitening

At-home teeth whitening is on the up – we’re expected to spend 8 billion Euros on it this year alone.

When teeth whitening first became popular, it went from demanding several visits to the dentist’s chair, to something any person with a set of strips could do at home. The problem being that back in the day, we bleached our teeth using harsh peroxide, which literally stripped away the protective enamel from the surface of our teeth, weakening them in the process.

Polished London’s safe, effective and easy to use Teeth Whitening Powder has been specially formulated using the latest innovative ingredients, designed to remove stubborn stains and leave you with a smooth, fresh, dentist-clean smile. Its peroxide-free formula contains no harmful abrasives, so is perfectly suited to sensitive teeth and gums.

Pair with Polished’s 14-day teeth whitening programme using their award-winning, enamel-safe Whitening Strips for maximum results, and brighten on the go with their new Teeth Whitening Pen, a peroxide free-gel that effectively whitens teeth in just one minute flat.

  • Ultra Whitening Toothpaste – €13.95
  • Activated Charcoal Mouthwash – €11.95
  • Hydro XP Dental Capsule – €81.95
  • Teeth Whitening Pen – €19.95
  • Teeth Whitening Powder – €30.95
  • Teeth Whitening Strips – €29.95

Irish-owned seed-to-shelf CBD company Hemp Heros have certainly made good on their name, having donated thousands of Euros worth of their pet products and profits to animal welfare charities as part of their Giving Back programme. These contributions have helped towards the cost of sheltering hundreds of sick and anxious rescues taken in by the DSPCA, Galway SPCA, Husky Rescue Ireland, Wicklow Animal Welfare, Dogs Angel, Dogs In Distress, Irish Guide Dogs, Gundog Rescue and Limerick Animal Welfare.

Now, Hemp Heros are spearheading a fundraising campaign that will not only help to spread awareness of the incredible work these charities do, but help to raise crucial funds to support with the rising cost of keeping their furry guests fed, watered and medically cared for.

Teaming up with an impressive combination of Irish celebrities and businesses, including professional boxing champion Kerry Harrington, celebrity trainer Paul Byrne and Luxury Make-up brands Kash Beauty, Bellamianta and BPerfect Cosmetics to name but a few, Hemp Heros have pulled together a collection of truly sensational, one-of-a-kind prizes worth an estimated 2,500 Euro that will keep you eagerly glued to your screen come April 25th, when the winners of 5 x hampers will be announced.

Every five Euro donation on their GoFundMe page will count as an entry towards this exceptionally worthy and important cause. CEO and founder of Hemp Heros David Hartigan has also pledged to donate 50% of the profits of his online Pet product sales until Thursday, April 11th.

The timing of this initiative couldn’t be better. The first wave of animals handed in to shelters for adoption usually comes just before Christmas, where older dogs in particular are turned over to make room for puppies. This is usually followed with a second influx around this time of the year, when patience with house training their new pet has worn out.

“These shelters do amazing work on a daily basis, offering a second, and a sometimes a last, chance for animals that are unwanted or have been abused or mistreated to have a good life” says David. I’m delighted to be launching this fundraising campaign to help raise awareness, support the charities with their rising expenses, and vitally, spread the message of adopt, don’t shop”.

The dedicated GoFundMe page is live and the draw available to enter as of Thursday, March 14th. Good luck – may the odds be ever in your favour!

The joyful news for the couple comes just one week after Harry remarkably earned the title of being England's record highest goalscorer.

Harry eventually popped the question in 2017, and two years later in June 2019, the couple tied the knot in a stunning beach ceremony at an exotic resort.

The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Ivy, into the world in January 2017, six months before they would get engaged.

Harry and Kate then went on to become parents once again, with the birth of Vivienne in August 2018 and son Louis in December 2020.

Shaughna Phillips has shared a pregnancy update with her fans as her baby's due date has passed.

The former Love Island star announced she was in the early stages of labour at the beginning of this month by sharing a video of her in hospital, but her little one is yet to make an arrival.

Shaughna has now taken to her Instagram Stories to tell her 1.4M fans what her plans are for her baby’s arrival now.

Posting a selfie, the 28-year-old wrote, “If I didn’t have a filter on my face one of my followers would definitely call an ambulance for me”.

“Induction booked for Sunday”, Phillips announced, “My March babe clearly wants to be an April babe like their mama”, she added.

The update comes after fans of the former reality TV star were convinced she had already secretly welcomed her baby into the world.

Shaughna had shared a photo of a delivery she received from a company that turns a woman’s placenta into pills or gummies for a mum to take after labour, which many people thought meant she had already given birth.

When setting the record straight and responding to these rumours, Shaughna stated, “Sorry guys I think I made a few of you think baby was here after I shared my placenta plus box!”.

“Baby is still very much snug as a bug it was just the preparation kit that was delivered”.

While previously explaining she had gone into early labour the mum-to-be said, “I had my last job before baby this morning…and just before my cab arrived, things took a turn and I was on the way to the hospital, and have been told I’m in early labour”.

“Home now, baby still tucked up nicely, and waiting for nature to do it’s thang”, she added.

Michael O’Leary has warned air passengers about potential disruption to this summer’s travel season.

The Ryanair boss was speaking at an aviation event in Brussels on Wednesday morning.

During a press conference at the Airlines for Europe summit, Mr O’Leary noted that, in many cases, airports will be more equipped this year to deal with the busy summer traffic.

The flying sector struggled to cope with its demand last year, as its staffing and operations were slow to regain strength following the impact of the Covid pandemic. Many passengers, including at Dublin Airport, were faced with huge queues and lengthy waiting times during the summer 2022 season.

“I think summer 2023 will be materially better at the airports – security, the airlines, the handling agents are much better staffed and prepped for the summer,” Mr O’Leary noted in his response to reporters.

Unfortunately, Mr O'Leary does not have complete optimism of the smooth running of airspace during this summer, as air traffic controllers are due to strike. “However, that doesn’t mean that summer isn’t going to be very difficult,” he added.

“Air traffic control [ATC] strikes are going to be infinitely worse. There’s capacity restrictions on European ATC systems because of the military activity over Ukraine… and all of the Asian traffic is being funnelled down across German and southern eastern European airspace,” he explained.

“So, air traffic control is going to be materially worse,” Mr O’Leary worried.

According to EasyJet chief executive Johan Lundgren’s speech at the the Airlines for Europe conference, there is “a sense of good demand” for air travel this year, meaning that airports are once again looking at a busy summer period.

Earlier this week, Dublin Airport also announced that it has introduced numerous new improvements to facilities, in the hopes of making each passenger’s experience more comfortable and efficient.

According to Celebrity Hairdresser and OGX Haircare Ambassador, Michael Douglas, some of the biggest problems hair can encounter over the summer are humidity, dryness and colour damage.  Here’s some tips to keep summer’s hair woes at bay with the OGX Extra Strength Hydrate & Revive+ Argan Oil of Morocco Collection.

Celebrity Hairdresser Michael Douglas

Give Your Summer Shower Experience A Power Upgrade

The first issue in summer is dryness.  If you combine heat styling and any hair treatment plus the intensity of the summer sun, hair can deteriorate much faster than normal.  Extra showering and hair washing means you need to be using good quality products to keep your hair healthy looking and in its best condition. OGX Extra Strength Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo and Conditioner are a power duo to help your hair feel nourished and less damaged.  Wash your hair at least every other day.   On top of this I would recommend a weekly hair mask, such as the OGX Extra Strength Argan Oil of Morocco Intensive Mask.

Hair’s Summer Rescue Hero is in a Mask

Treat your hair regularly, at least weekly, to an intensive hair mask like Extra Strength Argan Oil of Morocco Intensive Mask.  If you are going to be in the sun all day, you can also apply the mask to your hair under a hat, this will make a huge difference to your hair dryness.  The sun evaporates all the moisture in our hair, so if we apply a lot of moisture beforehand, the sun will evaporate this moisture and not the moisture from your hair. Having your hair covered whilst sunbathing is a great way to prevent this from happening.

Drying Times Call for A Protection Shield

A humid atmosphere is going to break down your hair style and make it fluffy or frizzy and summer is the worst time of the year for that, especially for curly wavy and thick hair.  What you need is something to create a barrier between your hair and that moisture.  The answer to dealing with humidity is styling products which form a film or protective barrier over the hair, such as OGX Argan Oil of Morocco Heat Protect Spray.  Humidity itself doesn’t cause damage but if you are trying to keep things under control you might then be tempted into extra styling too.  If you regularly heat style your hair, I would also recommend reducing this in the summer by half, so for instance, from four to two times a week if possible and use a heat protect spray here again any time you do.  This spray protects the hair shaft from heat styling up to 230 degrees.

Embrace A Mix of Carefree Summer Looks

Braids, buns and beachy waves are all great carefree looks for summer, so keep switching things up. If you are out in the heat and direct sun, wear a hat to protect your hair.  Alternating your styles like braiding or a messy bun means the sun can’t get to 100% of your hair and means avoiding damage to it every day – it’s a recovery for the hair that isn’t in direct sunlight!  To lock in the nutrients and seal the hair shaft, finish with a bit of OGX Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco Penetrating Oil for silky smooth and shiny results.

Swimming and Sunbathing on Repeat, Dive into the Blue

With all the swimming and sunbathing in summer, your hair is prone to extra damage.  Chlorine especially will damage hair but wet hair generally breaks more easily so be extra careful and treat it like silk.  Always apply conditioner after cleansing to help detangle and if combing through when wet, start at the ends and work your way up.  Pat hair dry, use a microfibre towel to gently wrap it up and treat it kindly.

Give Hair a Good Glug of Hydration

The hydrating formulas in this collection are a great way to keep all your hair bases covered over summer, a drink for hair for every outing and at every wash, condition, dry and style.  For an extra shot of hydration, you can also try the TikTok trend of ‘hair slugging’ – the process of drenching it overnight in a hair treatment oil to give it a longer treatment time.  Try the OGX Renewing+ Argan Oil of Morocco Penetrating Oil, apply to the lengths of the hair and brush through.  Wrap the hair in a fluffy sock or hair bonnet to protect it and leave in overnight before brushing through in the morning for added condition and shine.

Here's to plenty of happy, hydrated, good hair days ahead!

Binky Felstead has shared an insight into her pregnancy journey so far and has revealed the challenges she faces as a mum as she prepares to welcome her baby boy into the world.

The former Made in Chelsea star is already mum to five-year-old India and 21-month old Wolfie, and announced she was pregnant again in November of last year.

While speaking to OK!, Binky has revealed how her children are feeling about the arrival of their new sibling, and has hinted at name ideas she and husband Max have been considering.

The 32-year-old shared what her children think of the idea of a baby brother. “Wolfie doesn’t really know what’s going on, but India is really excited”, Binky explained.

“I’ve just got them bunk beds and India’s really excited about sharing with Wolfie and being on the top bunk”.

“Wolfie just needs to learn to sleep through till 7am before we put him in with her, otherwise it’s unfair on her. But other than that, we’ve just gone into the attic and got all the old baby clothes out ready for this new arrival”.

As both of her children’s names are unique, Binky spoke about how she and her husband went about coming up with ideas for their new arrival.

“It’s kind of difficult. But Max and I have got a couple of names we really like, and I think we’re set on one now. It’s taken a while!”.

“But there’s some meaning behind Wolfie’s name, and with India I’ve just always loved the name since I was little. So, this one’s going to have a pretty wild name as well, I’m sure”.

Going on to share the motherhood challenges she faces, the former reality TV star admitted, “There’s always something different every day, like they don’t want to eat something or wear something”.

“Luckily, there hasn’t been too much jealousy with my kids, but there are always going to be challenges growing up”.

“I think the biggest one for me is going to be when they fly the nest and go off to university, or just living away [from home] and I’m not going to be able to look after them or keep them in my nest. I think that will probably be the biggest challenge – just not knowing where they are at night”.

When announcing her pregnancy, Binky shared a sweet video that included her husband and children. She captioned the post, “Imagine thinking you’re nearing the “oh so quiet” phase again…. Taurus baby coming in hot”.

Binky’s pregnancy hasn’t been the easiest so far as she was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and a low-lying placenta.

Felstead recently shared a health update to her 1.4M Instagram followers by posting a snap of her ultrasound and saying, “All is looking great! no placenta in the way & lovely size so far…Of course won't stop worrying until he’s safely in my arms but today has made me feel a lot less anxious”.
