Selena Gomez is decidedly one of the most stunning creatures on the planet.

While some may argue that Selena perpetuates standardised beauty ideals, the singer is taking a stand to show her support for the body positivity movement.

In a video she shared to her Instagram page, Selena showcases her friends enjoying a boat trip in Sydney, seemingly totally by body shame.

A post shared by Selena Gomez (@selenagomez) on

The post speaks out against the cycle of shame and comparison many people find themselves in when they feel body negative.

'The beauty myth- an obsession with physical perfection that traps modern woman in an endless cycle of hopelessness, self consciousness, and self-hatred as she tries to fulfil society’s impossible definition of flawless beauty,' she captioned the post.

'I chose to take care of myself because I want to, not to prove anything to anyone.'

The self-love advocate has been through a lot in the past 12 months, and is celebrating her body for it's strength after surviving an essential kidney transplant surgery.

It is refreshing to see celebs promote body positivity so completely.

Hear hear, Selena, hear hear.

We literally cannot begin to cope with how ADORABLE this guy is.

Sam Barsky is an artistic knitter (yep, it's a thing) who creates jumpers that focus on famous places.

Epic.

After Sam creates one of his glorious jumpers, he visits the place it features, and takes a photo of himself.

This is a whole new type of art form, and we're here for it!

A simple concept, yet it has stolen the hearts of basically the entire Internet.

Sam has knitted and visited Times Square, the golden gate bride, and many more tourism hotspots in recent years.

America is a country made up of some truly amazing cities, from New York to Los Angeles, there is something for everyone.

However, I'm a massive believer in thinking sliiightly outside the box, because the USA is more than just Times Square and Hollywood.

Last year, I visited Nashville, a vibrant and electric city in North Tennessee, and it was bloody unreal.

From adventure to mass amounts of drinking, and everything in between, Nashville is a destination that you need to see.

1. Honky Tonk Central

Honky Tonk Central is Nashville's latest and greatest honky tonk on world famous 'Lower Broadway' Downtown.  with 3 full stories of live music, great food and great times, Honky Tonk Central is the destination stop when in Nashville. Honestly, I misspent an embarrassing amount of my trip in this place, I even bought the tshirt (true story!)

If you want to go out and live your best life, this is the place for you!

2. Country Music Hall of Fame

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville is one of the world’s largest museums and research centres dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of American vernacular music. Chartered in 1964, the museum has amassed one of the world’s most extensive musical collections.

Visitors are immersed in the history and sounds of country music, its origins and traditions, and the stories and voices of many of its architects. You'll see everything from Johnny Cash's suits to Garth Brooks' guitars! Keep it country, kids.

3. Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Museum of Art

Cheekwood is a privately funded 55-acre estate on the western edge of Nashville, Tennessee that houses the Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Museum of Art. Formerly the residence of Nashville's Cheek family, the 30,000-square-foot Georgian-style mansion was opened as a museum in 1960.

Each year, Cheekwood welcomes over 250,000 annual visitors, making it one of Nashville's top cultural attractions. Visitors enjoy year-round festivals celebrating the four seasons. From 150,000 blooming bulbs in the spring to one million holiday lights in the winter, there’s always something to see at Cheekwood.

4. The Grand Ole Opry

Okay so I had the BEST night here! The Grand Ole Opry is a weekly country-music stage concert in Nashville, which was founded on November 28, 1925, by George D. Hay as a one-hour radio "barn dance".

Dedicated to honouring country music and its history, the Opry showcases a mix of famous singers and contemporary chart-toppers performing country, bluegrass, folk, gospel, and comedic performances and skits. You'll laugh, you'll dance and you'll leave grinning ear to ear (and a little drunk tbh).

5. The Johnny Cash Museum

Am I a massive Johnny Cash fan? Yes. Did I have a little cry to myself walking around this museum? Yes.

Officially authorised by the Estate of Johnny Cash, the museum features the largest and most comprehensive collection of Johnny Cash artefacts and memorabilia in the world. State of the art exhibits, a museum gift store, coffee shop, cafe and special events make this THE Cash venue to visit. Its open every day in the heart of downtown Nashville.

The Disabled People for Choice Ireland group raises awareness of the reality of living with both the 8th Amendment and a disability.

The Facebook page shares anonymous true stories from people with disabilities, who highlight how a vote to repeal would change their lives, and why they want to repeal the 8th.

One story in particular caught our attention, as a woman detailed how she had been forced to suffer with agonising pain for far longer than was necessary, due to her medical caregivers placing the existence of a potential foetus above her right to care.

A post shared by The Zebra Mom (@thezebramom) on

'The 8th amendment means that as a fertile 19-year-old female, I must be treated as if I am possibly pregnant before every medical procedure I undertake and gives my hypothetical possible foetus more rights than I have,' reads the post.

'The Eighth Amendment meant that as a non sexually active 18-year old I was turned away from a crucial MRI that I waited six months for, whilst my spine was painfully and dangerously disintegrating by the day because it hadn’t been 10 days since my last period.'

'I pleaded with the MRI technician that I would take a pregnancy test then and there,' she continued.

'I told her, in front of a crowded waiting room, that I hadn’t had sex in five months and there was no way I could be pregnant, all with tears in my eyes. She told me that “it was hospital policy” and that I should rearrange an appointment when I got my next period.'

'My dad picked me up from the hospital and I cried the whole way home because I knew that the extra month of waiting for an MRI meant my spinal surgery was further delayed causing me to live in chronic pain for longer than necessary.'

´Under the Eighth Amendment, I must be treated as a liar.'

'My pregnancy should be on MY own terms, when MY body is strong enough to have a pain and risk-free pregnancy, and for when I want to be pregnant.'

'It is inhumane to force me to carry a pregnancy that risks severely, painfully and permanently damaging MY body,' she finished.

It is vital to hear the words of those impacted by the 8th Amendment in ways some of us might have never even considered.

Stories about sex robots have been doing the rounds recently, and their existence has opened a whole new discussion about consent and objectification.

In Paris, the popularity of the concept led to the opening of a sex doll 'brothel,' where punters can have their way with a selection of life-like feminine dolls.

There has been massive debate surrounding the pros and cons of the concept, with some feeling it is degrading and promotes the objectification of women, while others feel it is a non-issue.

XDolls charges customers around €89.00 for one hour of sex doll use, according to The BBC, and political leaders and activists are calling for the establishments shut down.

The nondescript looking establishment opened on February 1st, and according to it's owner, the business sees both male clients and couples.

Lorraine Questiaux, spokesperson for a French feminist association, told The BBC:

'In France, every year, there are 86,000 women raped.'

'Xdolls is not a sex shop. It's a place that generates money and where you rape a woman.'

Calls for the establishment, registered as a games centre, to be closed argue that the dolls perpetuate rape culture and promote the perception of women as sex objects.

When asked whether he felt the service was degrading to women, the owner replied:

'I am neither a sociologist, nor a philosopher, nor a psychologist. I'm not the right person to answer that.'

While the discussion surrounding the implications of the dolls is one that should be encouraged, others have argued that as the dolls are objects, they cannot be raped.

This May, TV presenter Lorraine Keane will host a unique fashion event to raise vital funds for the hunger crisis in East Africa and beyond.

Supported by some of the nation's best-loved brands and favourite fashion/lifestyle personalities, the event will combine a fashion show and designer auction with a public sale, selling a wide range of brand new and pre-loved designer and highstreet clothes, bags and accessories.

"For seven years now, I have been travelling to the developing world with various Irish NGOs – all of whom do remarkable work – so I've seen first-hand how peopel are struggling to survive on very little," Lorraine explains.

"Every time I come home, I realise how much stuff we have. We have too much. It doesn't feel right."

So in November, Lorraine decided to organise an event that would enable people to get rid of their unnecessary purchases while helping to raise money for the people who hardly have enough to survive.

Talking about her reasons for the event, the former TV presenter continued: "Millions of people have already died and it is estimated another million people will die in the next twelve months unless we do something.

"I am hoping that between us, in just one day, we can make a difference with FashionRelief – a public fashion sale of pre-loved or worn-once designer clothing and accessories.

"I think you’ll agree we all have too much stuff. Even one item can make a difference."

The event will be held from 11am to 5pm in the RDS on May 13 and will feature premium and designer bags, clothes, and accessories.

Besides Lorraine, there will be other high-profile attendees, some of whom will be manning their own stalls selling their personal pre-loved items.

There will also be three fashion shows featuring donations from retail outlets, celebrity supporters, and designers. We can't wait to see all of the fabulous wares and support this worthy cause!

Let's admit it – the highlight of any wedding is the cake. Sure, we enjoy witnessing the bride and groom starting their life together, but we also LOVE seeing a big slice of cake on our plates.

Speaking of which, the royal wedding is sure to have some AMAZING confections. Claire Ptak, owner of the London-based bakery Violet, has been selected as the lucky dessert maker, and she sounds like the perfect woman for the job.

"Prince Harry and Ms. Markle have asked Claire to create a lemon elderflower cake that will incorporate the bright flavours of spring," the Kensington Palace Twitter account revealed, "It will be covered with buttercream and decorated with fresh flowers."

Yumm, that sounds absolutely scrumptious! It's fitting that she's basking in the flavours of spring since she simply loves using seasonal ingredients.

"Claire Ptak, who was raised in California, focuses on using seasonal and organic ingredients in her cakes," Kensington Palace further explained.

A brief look through the Instagram account for her bakery shows a bouquet of floral cakes that look almost too pretty to eat.

This wouldn't be the first time Claire and Meghan have met.

The Suits actress interviewed the pastry chef for her former lifestyle website The Tig.

Claire herself certainly seems thrilled about making the royal wedding cake.

The Insta account for Violet posted, "Kinda excited to announce this one!! Violet has been chosen to make the wedding cake for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

"They both share so many of the same values regarding food provenance, sustainability, seasonality and of course, flavour!"

Sounds like a match made in heaven!

There are many reasons in this life to pledge your love to Drake.

Be it his rapping skills, his dashing looks or his God's Plan video (if you didn't cry, deem yourself heartless).

Now, Drake has gone a step further to acquire our love by going veggie.

A post shared by champagnepapi (@champagnepapi) on

The Passionfruit singer revealed on a gaming live stream with game streamer Tyler 'Ninja' Blevins that he has opted out of a carnivorous lifestyle.

'Man, honestly, I'm usually eating healthy but I had pizza tonight because it's so late,' he said.

'I feel like chicken and pineapple pizza could work, but I don't eat meat anymore. But I enjoy pineapple on pizza though.'

A post shared by champagnepapi (@champagnepapi) on

Animal rights group PETA has praised the rappers move, as it may encourage others to consider ditch meat.

The group sent Drake a vegan gift basket, including a (punny) passionfruit.

With more and more celebs opting for a vegan and veggie lifestyle, and veganism gaining popularity every year, maybe the future is herbivorous?

Listen, we all know that water is a crucial part of our existence.

We try to drink enough, but nine times out of ten we’d rather chug a diet coke than a pint of aqua, right?

Anyway, have you ever genuinely looked into why we should drink water? Because holy shit, the benefits are endless.

Water is literally the elixir of life, adn we should really be getting a couple of litres a day (minimum)

Why though? Well allow me to hit you with some knowledge…

Energy levels

Have you ever found yourself absolutely exhausted in the afternoon, for literally no reason? Yes, same. WELL, you are probably dehydrated, and there is no tiredness quite like it. Our brains are made up of 90% water, so drinking it helps us think, focus and concentrate better and be more alert. As an added bonus, your energy levels are also boosted!

Prevents headaches

So moving on from my point about our brains being made up of mostly water… a lack of H2O will probably result in a headache. Even if you are slightly dehydrated, your brain will start to get pissed off, and pain will ensue. Drink up, and avoid those headaches.

Clear skin

For fine young ladies like ourselves, this one will be particularly close to our hearts. It is a well known fact: clean drinking water will help improve your skin! Certain toxins in the body can cause the skin to inflame, which results in clogged pores and acne .Water does flush out these toxins and can reduce the risk of spots – magical news.

Hangover cure (yes, really)

We all know that hideous feeling when you wake up after a night out, and your mouth is so dry it almost hurts. Well, this is actually your body reacting the all the booze you drank the night before. When you eventually manage to haul your arse out of the bed, be sure to drink a few pints of water – your body will thank you!

Can aid weight loss

Honestly, I despise fad diets, and I just cannot get down with them at all! However, I can get down with the idea that water will aid weight loss, if you let it. Water can increase satiety and boost your metabolic rate, and ultimately water simply helps people feel full, and as a result consume fewer calories.

Needless to say, we should all drink up!
