Is there a food that drives people as crazy as bacon? Maybe chocolate, but we can't really think of anything else.

While they are a staple for our beloved weekend brunch, rashers can also be used to cook some really tasty lunches and dinners.

And that makes us very happy.

1. Easy bacon and broccoli quiche

2. Bacon and shrimp ramen stir fry

3. Bacon fried rice

4. Crispy baked potato skins

5. Fried cauliflower with bacon and mushrooms

6. Spaghetti carbonara

7. White pizza with spinach and bacon

Tom Meagher has posted a heartbreaking message about his wife, Jill, on what would have been their 10th wedding anniversary.

Jill Meagher was just 29 when she was raped and murdered by Adrian Bayley while walking home from a night out in Melbourne, Australia back in 2013.

Bayley was sentenced to 35 years.

Taking to his Facebook page, Tom shared a gorgeous picture of Jill on the couple's wedding day, describing her as a "force and energy that was literally breathtaking".

"I day-dreamed about what we will be doing in five years, in ten years, in twenty or thirty years – we never made it to five," he wrote.

"Four years later she was brutally and violently taken from this world.

"Only five weeks ago I stood in the Wicklow mountains where we were married, looking up at the canopy in the woods behind the grounds, as I have done many times in the six years since her death."

Describing her killer as "the cretin who took her from this world", Tom writes how his wife still "communicates through the ones she loved and who loved her, through everyone who lives life like she did."

Addressing the issue of "the everyday spectrum of male violence", Tom writes: "In a culture where the death's of most women are not newsworthy, are so commonplace that they are seen as incidental, expected and simply inevitable, he certainly does represent the extremist wing.

"But it's the many silent foot soldiers, supporters, cheerleaders, beneficiaries and bloated, self-righteous guardians of male supremacy who vocally claim to despise the extremist wing, while essentially supporting the underlying ideology that chills my blood.

"I can hold the polarities of Jill and Bayley in my mind, as light and darkness, as good and evil. It's the deliberately inscrutable, seemingly unreachable void that exists in between to prop up that darkness that keeps me awake at night."

Finishing up his post, Tom directly addresses Jill, writing: "Slainte Jill. You were a warrior for love, life and liberation Thank you for consistently and persistently teaching me how to live, how to think, how to embrace love wholly, and to bear witness to the fire you lit in me and so many others in your short time on this earth. You are loved at every moment of every day."

The haters are back again and have been more relentless than ever to former Googlebox star Scarlett Moffatt. We're sorry you have to deal with this, girl!

The poor actress had an emotional breakdown yesterday after incessant trollers insulted her on social media.

Scarlett appeared on the Love Island spin-off show, Aftersun, last night. During which her low-cut dress revealed a part of her bra while she spoke to the show’s host Caroline Flack.

People immediately took to Twitter to bash the I’m a Celeb winner’s appearance, starting with her bra and then moving on to her weight. There was no holding back as opinionated viewers began fat shaming the 28-year-old for her appearance, calling her ‘utterly revolting’.

Scarlett went home to see tweets judging her body and insulting the way she looked and could not believe the cruelty of women online. The reality TV personality revealed on social media that she cried her eyes out after reading the comments.

‘I’m honestly ashamed of some people on here. Hard to pretend I’m ok and be  a good role model to others about how it’s ok to just you,’ she wrote.

It is hard enough living with an insecurity, let alone when people publicly attack your appearance. However, fans quickly came to her defence after her post, advising her to ignore the nasty comments and to ‘keep shining’.

Love Island star Olivia Buckland also replied to Scarlett saying that she had received similar online treatment.

‘Babe I can feel this so much. Happened to me yesterday I broke down. From one strong lady to another; we’re better than that.[…] All I know is that you are better than words.’

Olivia’s fiancee, Alex Bowen, also vented about the way fat shamers were treating Liv, discrediting their remarks and calling her ‘unreal’.

‘Had liv crying in my arms this morning because of hurtful comments made by disgusting girls and elder women too […] no one should be made feel like that.’

Caroline Flack and Love Island narrator, Iain Stirling, stood by Scarlett’s side, reassuring her how ‘brilliant’ she was and dubbing her the ‘sweetest most approachable individual out there’.

Once again, people hide behind their computers to judge women in the spotlight, but we were happy to see others defending Scarlett and Liv.

Liv also tweeted a powerful message: ‘Lots preach for women in the public eye to be good role models and teach the love yourself motto; yet the parents of the kids they want us to influence are often the ones writing the hate.

‘Self love starts at home, at your heart and not at hate.’

Online bullying has become a serious issue, especially after the suspected suicide of Love Island star Sophie Gradon. The actress had recently addressed social media commentators who were relentless in their tormenting judgements about her looks.

We stand behind women everywhere who are verbally attacked and shamed online because of judgemental comments regarding their appearance.

It is so important to speak out and tell others how you’re feeling. Keep defending your friends and loved ones, encouragement can make all the difference.

Love Island may be over tonight but it's certainly not the last we'll be seeing of Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham's blossoming relationship.

That's because, according to The Sun, the loved-up pair are set to get their very own reality show, and we are super excited!

Apparently, producers at ITV2 have approached the couple about a three-part series which will follow them as they adjust to life outside the villa.

A post shared by ♡ Dani Dyer  (@danidyerxx) on

The couple, both from Essex, have been together since day one and have already planned to move in together, so a reality show seems like the next step.

A post shared by ♡ Dani Dyer  (@danidyerxx) on

"There is a big money offer on the table for the couple and cameras want to start filming them as soon as they leave the villa.," a TV production company told the paper.

"There is a huge interest in capturing the moment that Jack finally meets Danny in person, something he’s been nervous about since day one. Danny will give him a hard time and plenty of banter so it would be TV gold."

We would definitely watch it just for that moment!

How strong is your Instagram game?

Ever wonder why the picture of your new skirt is raking in the likes, while the snap of your gourmet sambo only received a measly five hearts?

Well, it turns out that some pictures just do better than others, and it has nothing to do with filters or focus.

According to research by social media marketing company Socialbakers, some content is just more popular, and therefore gains more interaction with Instagram users.

A post shared by SHEmazing! (@shemazingie) on

Certain industries receive a lot more attention than others, with more than 30 per cent in the difference between fashion and sport.

Taking the top spot at 38 per cent is fashion, while beauty follows in second place with 21 per cent.

Other industries take a steep drop in interactions, with auto coming in at 11 per cent, retail coming in at six per cent, and sport coming in at five per cent.

Instagram

Coming in dead last is electronics with 4 per cent and beverages with 2 per cent (which we're a bit surprised at because… food porn, amirite?).

We honestly thought there would be more of a mix in here, but it turns out if you want to be Insta-famous, fashion is the way to go.

Popular Irish blogger Rosie Connolly is ready to expand her family with Paul Quinn. The couple are already parents to three-year-old son Harry, but admitted they’re hoping to welcome a new addition soon.

The mum admitted that she has been feeling broody all year.

Rosie opened up about her future family plans to RSVP Live: “I have been dying for another baby since the end of last year,” she admitted.

The fashion blogger has been eager to try for another baby, but one life event was standing in her way- her wedding.

Rosie and husband Paul Quinn tied the knot earlier this year in a stunning ceremony at Carton House, Kildare.

The lavish event took a hell of a lot of organising, so Rosie wanted to wait until after the grand event to think about growing their family.

"We would love to have another baby- if it happens, it happens. Obviously, with our wedding in May we knew that we had to hold off a little," the influence said.

Having another baby would be such a joy for the newlyweds: “We would be absolutely thrilled,” she shared.

Becoming a mum was a life-changing moment for Rosie. She gushed about the birth of her son Harry on her blog.

“The love that came over me was so overwhelming, I just cried for the first week non stop, all happy tears,” she wrote.

We all know Jack and Dani are going to win Love Island. There’s no doubt in our minds that the pair will come out on top when the show ends on Monday night.

They’ve been a joy to watch over the past few months (apart from that post- lie detector argument, which we’re still reeling over) and have certainly won the hearts of the nation.

Jack and Dani have gone from strength to strength since their early days on the show and have started planning their future together.

A post shared by Jack Fincham (@jack_charlesf) on

The couple are moving in together once the show ends, and they're also making plans for their first Christmas.

*sobs*

Fans of the show aren’t the only ones who support the lovebirds, Dani’s mum Jo has opened up about her 21-year-old daughter’s love life, admitting she couldn’t be happier with Jack.

Speaking to The Sun, her mum said: “I think Jack could be the one because he’s older than her. Jack seems grounded.”

A post shared by Jack Fincham (@jack_charlesf) on

However, the pen salesman better watch his back because there is one man who holds a very special place in Dani’s heart.

Her mum shared that Dani and Jack are perfect for one another, unless chart topper Justin Bieber makes himself known to her daughter.

A post shared by ♡ Dani Dyer ♡ (@danidyerxx) on

She joked: “Unless Justin Bieber comes along, this could be it.”

We’re sure Jack isn’t too concerned considering the Love Yourself singer recently popped the question to Hailey Baldwin.

He may not have to worry about the What Do You Mean singer making an appearance in Casa Amor, but the 26-year-old will come face-to-face (via video link) with Dani’s parents in tonight's episode at 10 pm on 3e.

Butter, milk or cream are common ingredients for most cakes, biscuits, ice-creams, but they are not irreplaceable. Margarine and neutral oils can be good substitutes for butter, while non-dairy milks and creams (such as coconut and almond) are now widely available.

The following recipes do not contain any milk or dairy, but if you use chocolate, make sure it is dairy-free or vegan.

What is your typical weekday breakfast?

I love to mix it up at breakfast time. My favourites would have to be a slim bagel, smoked salmon and a poached egg, or some fruit with Greek style yoghurt and maybe some muesli too.

A coffee is always a must on the side!

What do you usually have for dinner?

I generally would mix up the type of dinners I make but all would consist of meat, vegetables and a small portion of carbs.

Carbs like sweet potatoes, quinoa or butternut squash are always a hit.

Is it different at the weekend?

Yes it can be for sure, it's a lot easier I find to fall off the bandwagon at the weekends and get a takeaway or indulge a little bit more.

I try to be as healthy as possible but we're all allowed a treat! We will cook something nice like Mexican food, fajitas are always a winner!

I love to nibble on things like crackers and cheese, meats and hummus.

The most incredible lunch. Buckwheat Pancakes #Yum #London #Lunch

A post shared by F A C E S B Y G R A C E (@facesbygrace23) on

Do you snack during the day?

Of course, I always try to include as much protein as possible. My trainer recommends that so I'd have a protein shake with a banana, almond butter and milk. It's so nice, it's like a peanut butter milkshake!

Otherwise I'd have Greek style yoghurt with berries or some nuts.

What would be your ideal food day?

Cheese! Anything with cheese and more cheese! With bacon or bread. All the good stuff!

What is your favourite dessert?

Ohhh definitely a warm chocolate brownie and ice cream!

What is your favourite meal of the day?

I would have to say breakfast. There are so many different things you can have for breakfast. Having a big breakfast or going out for brunch, I love both.

Your favourite restaurant in Dublin/Ireland/the world?

That's a really tough question! I don't know if I have a favourite because I love to try new places all of the time.

A great brunch spot though would be Noah&Co. in Liffey Valley. The food is delish.

The best brunch place in Dublin?

We love HQ on Grand Canal, that's gorgeous!!

Any “food pet peeves”?

Mine would have to be when people automatically say they don't like something when they haven't tried it!

I'm one to try before I decide whether or not I like it.

What food would you not eat for the whole world?

I hate ginger! It makes me feel ill even thinking about it…

What can we always find in your fridge?

Cheese, milk, yoghurt, oh and eggs!

You have friends over for dinner, what do you cook for them?

I love to cook and I have a few favourites.

I would go for spaghetti bolognese, I love spaghetti.A stir fry either, my Mam says they are the best! I do a really nice chicken satay as well. Any of those I'd say!

Do you find it hard to eat a healthy diet on a daily basis?

If I stay in 'the zone' I am totally fine, keeping up with workouts and eating healthy each week but it's when I fall off the bandwagon like I would have on my holidays, I find it really hard to get back on track!

I'm an 80/20 kind of girl though, so I do my best to eat healthy and work out as much as possible but I love some treats or cheat meals too.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Cheese! Any type, cheese boards with all the trimmings, olives, meats and grapes.

Cheese on top of cheese on top of cheese!!

Tips and Tricks to Battling Body Fat for Your Appearance

When it comes to insecurities, body fat is probably one of the most notorious culprits. This issue leads to a lot of self-confidence and self-esteem problems in men and women, and can lead to long-term complications in enjoying life.

Being self-confident when it comes to your body fat and your appearance comes down to many factors. These factors will be discussed to show you what tips and tricks you can use to beat the insecurity and take back your life.

Change up your clothing choices.

What you wear can make your body look more frumpy and highlight fat more than you’d like. Baggy clothing isn’t the only solution anymore. If you click here, you can see that body fat can be combated with clothing options. The belly, breast, butt, and hips are all areas where body fat builds up, and conveniently, these are all areas where clothing tends to be tight. Wearing more form-fitting clothing and compression clothing can help you look good and feel good at the same time.

Drinking more water

Simple things like drinking water are useful when it comes to fighting body fat. Water is the essence of life, and it also helps speed up metabolic processes, including digestion, fat burning, and expenditure of calories. Water is important for the body to maintain its energy levels, and it can be a fantastic replacement for sugary drinks like soda or juice. It’s so important to drink more water throughout the day to help fight body fat, and for a general improvement to your mood and health. Consider drinking more water before meals, before bed, and after you wake up as well.

Chewing gum

Yup, chewing gum can have a psychological impact on how you can try and lose body fat. How is that possible? Well, the act of chewing gum tricks your brain into thinking it’s chewing food and can help reduce feelings of hunger and slow down your appetite. There’s a misconception that gum-chewing can help burn calories, but unfortunately, this isn’t true. The amount of calories it burns in an hour is negligible, but the mental trick of fooling your body into thinking it’s chewing food has been proven to be a potential way to eat less. Just remember to choose sugar-free gum to protect your teeth.

Get your sweat on.

Exercise is one of the best ways to lose weight, and it’s an obvious tip, but it goes beyond that. The act of sweating during your workouts can help you burn a little extra. Even though a lot of sweating can be just water weight, helping heat up your body and sweating can help cut some weight during exercise. Wearing hoodies during a weightlifting session or daily sauna use will do wonders for fat loss.

Fat burning is tough. Being able to lose weight or change your appearance to look slimmer is a goal that many people are struggling to attain. With these tips and tricks, you can find quicker yet effective ways to improve your appearance.

Gossip Girl's Ed Westwick will not face charges of sexual assault due to a lack of evidence, says US prosecutors.

The 31-year-old was accused of various sexual assault allegations from three different women.

However, Los Angeles prosecutors said in new documents that the allegations would not be pursued due to insufficient evidence.

A post shared by Ed Westwick (@edwestwick) on

In November 2017, the actor Kristina Cohen accused Ed through a detailed Facebook post.

Former actor Aurélie Wynn also came forward alongside Kristina and provided witnesses.

“Those witnesses were not able to provide information that would enable the prosecution to prove either incident beyond a reasonable doubt,” the memo read.

“Prosecution on those two incidents is declined due to insufficient evidence,” the memo added.

A post shared by Ed Westwick (@edwestwick) on

A third accuser was referenced within the memo but her case was dropped because of her “unavailability”.

Accusations from further women of reported unwanted touching could not be held up due to falling outside the statute of limitations, reports the Guardian.

Ed has maintained his innocence after the first allegation became public.

In a now-deleted Instagram post, the actor said: “I have never forced myself in any manner, on any woman."
